Funny, guesting was here to solve people have issues with playing with friend and people having issues with completing events because of lack of people. Now people are complaining “go back to your own server, ours is good now”. For the majority, it probably has to do with more people doing these events because they’re actually worth it now and guesting is just a minute part of it.
Guesting is fine as it is, if they want to apply any sort of fix, limit guesting to 1 server or two servers at longer duration though in my opinion, it’s working fine as it is.
By the way, you know what’s funny, Anet isn’t going to nerf guesting because of you kittens complaining. What you’ll see in future patch notes is if you guys keep this up “World boss chest loot adjusted”. Everyone loses.
Also, the REAL reason to this complaint is kittens going to the event few minutes before it’s over. If you went to an event well before the time it spawn, even if you hit a overflow, you should have no problem leaving it.
Funny thing is people aren’t using it to play with their friends but instead using it to get 3 world event chests per character. These are called leechers. We as residents of our own server should have the privilege of going into any map at any point in time without having to queue in overflow. So what if we want to enter last minute?
I agree, ANet should remove chest loot while guesting. Since you know, guesting was meant for players to play with friends and that’s most important, not the loots
So basically you want to go to an event last minute to get an easy chest and have priority over someone who has been there the entire time? Are we getting to the bottom of this now?
Talk about leeching.
It’s my home server , what’s the problem? That’s why we have website that tracks the spawn times of world events, so we could be there the moment the pre-event starts (please read: pre-event.). I don’t jump in last minute after the boss hp drops to 20%. I do the whole event as I am saving up karma and such.
I use my time representing my server in WvW and only come out for dungeons and world events. I don’t see a problem with that. I don’t sit in a map idling around doing nothing. Perhaps you do not participate in WvW and only sits around camping for events but I’m sorry, that’s not how I spent my time playing GW2.
And we’re sorry that there were people who did take the time to sit and wait for the event who got priority because they’re there the whole time.

Hmm, I don’t know where you guys are getting the idea that it’s 3 chest per toon. I just went and checked whether this was true with frozen maw, did it on my home server then went to do it on another, no chest. It’s safe to say, the chest is char bound and not server-character bound. Only takes a little time to check these things really.
I’m sorry, but I do not practice leeching off other servers. I do not do things which I dislike to others. However, seems like majority of the guests who came to my server have the idea that they could get 3 chest per character. Funny enough, we only face these overflow issue in popular world event maps like Frostgorge, Sparkfly, and Blazeridge. I doubt that they are here to “play with friends”.
I’ve been denied of my home server chests for 2 days now. These guests seems to camp here and not leaving the server unless they want to WvW. This obviously poses a whole new issue called: PVE guest server camping.
You are obviously exaggerating as many complainers do. As mention above, if you really wanted to complete an event, just be there slightly ahead of time instead of last minute. As for the lag, turn down the settings or get a better computer. My home server is SoS and yes there has been a significant FPS drop but I would hardly call it unplayable or at least not enough to acquire a tag for the event. Also, if you don’t practice what you call as leeching, then you shouldn’t make statements which aren’t true.

And it really makes sense, I had doubts that anet would be silly enough to make such a huge mistake on making it character-server bound since even JP chest are character bound regardless of which server you’re on (so if you finish a jp open a chest, the chest won’t be unopened on another server)

This is why we can’t have nice things.
Incoming ‘chest dont drop loot while guested’ patch?
Exactly, people complain about something they’re equally doing and then poof, Anet takes it all away. People should be happy that their lower zones are being more populated and not being greedy that they can’t have priority first. As I said in my other post
“By the way, you know what’s funny, Anet isn’t going to nerf guesting because of you kittens complaining. What you’ll see in future patch notes is if you guys keep this up “World boss chest loot adjusted”. Everyone loses.

A very simple solution to making sure you get to the event. As for the lag, I suggest a better computer or turning down the settings. I get lower fps but it’s hardly unplayable.

Gems can’t exactly be compared to currency because currency is kinda like energy (except for the fact that energy cannot be created) whereas it is transferred (currency is only destroyed if they’re old and should not be circulated anymore, then new munny is printed for it, printing munny for no reason will devalue it). Gems on the other hand can be destroyed (through you using it to buy in game items where it goes back to the source). So how exactly are gems being generated if we destroy it? Well simply, people who buy gems with dollars and convert to gold are the supplier of the gems. Why is gem price so high now as compared to the start of the game. That is because at the start of the game, not many people bought gems and also not many people converted, the pool of gems available was relatively big. Nowadays, the demand for gems is a lot higher and is more than the supply (people who use money to buy gems) so the price remains high due to a smaller pool.
I think i’m somewhat in the right track

Nipper sounds like loot I would get after killing a crab (that’s what hit me first anyways, reminds me of a loot I used to get after killing a crab in RO). I’m not the most innocent guy out there but I certainly don’t see any sexual reference in this word. I must say, the person who did find this to be offensive must be a bit over in the darkkkk side :o
I think this is the last straw for me, I took a lot of kitten from anet over the past few months but seriously? 40 laurels and 50 ectos to even have a chance to get one of your characters with an accessory and forcing people to all join the biggest guild they can find so they can farm these… That’s very healthy of you anet. Looks like i’m not going to support this game anymore.
Why the heck does ascended accessories cost 40 laurel AND 50 ectos… while guild merchant sells it for like 5g? (or was it 10?) the price of 50 ectos is like 20g atm… what the heck..
Okay, just finished it and it’s safe to say, Anet fails to properly test their changes again! The boss is buggy as hell, he spent 2 minute sitting on top of a fully fueled trap and not activating or moving. LUCKILY, we could still use knockbacks on it and eventually after knocking it over to the NEXT TRAP it suddenly started working again. The mechanics is incredibly bad. Lift and drag? but cant be done the same time? Lift duration is too short, it’s easier to just drag the boss to the trap and lift oozes there till it dies and fuels the trap… the previous version was SOOO much better, even if the traps were pointless.
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
The fps issue is real, whole party fps dropped from 60fps to 8. Since i was the one doing the luring and tanking it was very hard on me. Other members said it was fine as long as they didn’t see the mobs i.e. standing back at the trap activating area.
I’ve survived playing all class without dying without using these foods. Funny all the people saying how they’re die in melee now without food lol.
This game should’ve been a hybrid. With that I mean, you can play with or without trinity. It should’ve been all up to the players, that way the game would’ve been more interesting and more fun with this various dimensions of gameplay.
Now, the game is most likely doomed.
The complexity to scale for both is near impossible. Trinity was an inferior system anyways, the current system is much better and I don’t get how this will doom the game. You came in knowing very well what to expect.
I miss healers but not in this game. Having a healer would just make everything faceroll easy in any of the dungeons. For example, a fight against lupi wouldn’t require skill anymore, just a guardian face tanking him while the healer heals and others just dps. Sub heals in each profession is good enough
Hello to the community members and Arena Net,
I will try to make this short since i am really frustrated , disgusted and devasted by what happened.
A person who i shall not name in this thread ( over 6K+ Achievement points) has offered 2000 gold for my twilight but via in-game Mail , to avoid TP Fees. I thought about it for a bit then accepted since i thought he was pretty well mannered and mature-ish.
I sent the sunrise over , and he replied saying just give me a moment i will send the gold from another account. At this point i got a little nervous.
He has never came online since on both accounts which leads to make me think he blocked me or w/e and simply got scammed.
Me and my close mate have worked over 2 month to achieve the sunrise together. I was planning on selling it for gold and getting my mate the legendary he always wanted which was Twilight.
This may sound very pathetic , but i will keep it honest and won’t try to create a fake ego of what im not feeling right now. Right now i have no urge of even logging and playing just cause of the fact all of our efforts has gone astray.
Any help with this situation will be appreciated.
Thank you
The moment he wanted to trade in in-game mail you should have known it was a scam. He literally had ZERO benefit by trading with in game mail with you while on TP he doesn’t pay extra and he gets his twilight. Obviously, anyone who offers this kind of deal is looking to scam people. In the future, just avoid in game mail trading OR always be the person to send after. Comeon, even in real life trading like ebay, when do you send an item and THEN pay. You were too nice and naive at the same time and these scumbags took advantage of it. I feel for you.
So here is my question to Anet really. Why do stealth nerfs? Why can’t you be more upfront with certain changes you do to the game. Sure, some people may not enjoy certain elements being nerfed but isn’t it a lot better to be upfront about it. I surely would be able to accept most changes you have decided if it was written in the latest update log. What we hate is when we have to find out by ourselves later on that a chest only appears once a day now because of a recent small patch which was told to just be routine maintenance.
The other problem is, why the lack of detail in the update logs? For example, the last routine maintenance just said, no content changes were made but you obviously fixed some bugs in that patch, why not list them out to players what bugs were fixed? Like I notice the achievements were now fixed in the last patch but it would have been nice to have known this just by reading the update logs instead of having to find out ourselves. I’m also waiting very patiently (and forcefully) that the dragon chest not spawning bug to be fixed (it’s been 3 weeks and counting now, no acknowledgement of news about it since then even though this is a game breaking issue for many many many players) and every update i’m praying for that bug to be fixed and since there is no detail in the update logs as well, I have to test it out by killing a few dragons and wa la! bug still exist, chest doesn’t appear and my event participation has some extremely low exp number like 700 exp 15 karma. (obvious some DR bug the game is persisting with, really begs the question maybe we’re all permanently in DR thanks to this bug and we don’t even know it because anet doesn’t know it or is being extremely slow to fix it).
There is no consistency when it comes to the update logs, sometimes they tell us this this and that has been fixed while others they either throw in a bunch of stealth fixes or nerfs. It is for this reason why there are so many conspiracies around, because Anet seems to be so secretive with everything they do, regardless if it was a nerf or fix?
Ultimately, I just wish they would post some clear and detailed update logs (I don’t mind if they take longer to be posted up, but at least I know what is working properly and what isn’t so I can resume playing that aspect of the game. (i.e kill dragons for their bad loot again).
Yeah, i was looking at the same set and wondering why abyss and black dyes come out as almost light grey..
No, it’s not a completely “free” market in the sense that Anet created this world.
However, in the context of this world, prices are indeed based on supply and demand. Players really like greatswords, daggers, and swords. So the prices of Dusk, Dawn, Zap, and Spark are muuuuuuuuuuuch higher than the price of the Speargun precursor, assuming same drop rates for everything. Heck, I bet more Dusk/Dawn/Zap/Sparks exist simply because who wastes Spearguns in the MF?
To completely dismiss supply and demand from this in-game economy is silly.
Exactly, take off those tinfoil hats and stop assuming anet has COMPLETE control of precursors in the game. The supply price is determined by the demand in which players believe is worth paying.
Just to clarify, the dragon chest bug is something to do with their DR or downscaling which causes the chest to NOT appear. I don’t really care about the abyssal loot drop from dragon chest, I care about not getting one at all
Well we’ll see if my post gets sent to the 4th dimension soon. I mean seriously, there’s so many little and big bugs in this game that sometimes I don’t understand how game devleopers work. Sure, some little bugs like typos and missing runes or merchants selling wrong items isn’t game breaking and shouldn’t be in priority. But is it THAT hard to fit in a typo fix for an item like “quality maintenance oil” to say precision instead of power, like all of its other tier oils over half a year into the game. I’m sure it doesn’t require huge programming, most likely as simple as fixing a typo in microsoft word.
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
It’s really sad when this happens. I really enjoy playing gw2 but when someone ask me for an opinion on whether they should play, I naturally say… I don’t think its the game for you. Do you know why? It’s because their game is filled with bugs which are hugely ignored and rarely acknowledged. I’m a push over so you can get away with pushing me around with bugs that persist since day one but I don’t want to be the guy who recommends a friend a game filled with bugs and then tells me that I wasted their money.
It’s been half way into the month since the last “big” january update which gave us lovely package of new bugs bundled with old ones. Why is this not a priority to fix it. By now there is probably over a thousand combined chest lost to players (how is this going to be compensated, doubtful, if at all!!) This is a huge bug and Anet is just swinging it by and casually ignoring it, saying, "na, it’s ok to waste hours (which by now would be nearing a hundred hours lost per player) of players time waiting for the dragon to spawn yet only to receive NOTHING. If it’s DR that’s screwing stuff up, take it off temporary until u fix it, if it’s the downscaling system, roll it back temporary?? I’m sure you have such capabilities when an update goes wrong which to their record so far is pretty much every single one…
You did it for the jumping incident (which i’m glad you resolved quickly within a day, instead of having players fail at jumping puzzles everywhere for a month)
To make it worst, the topic in game bugs which was discussing this issue got CLOSED and replied with a simple,
“While we’re continuing to investigate this and other item-drop related concerns, we’ve gathered all the information we need at this time. Once we have more information on this subject, we will provide you with an update.
This thread will now be closed. Thank you for your feedback.,"
So losing chest is just grieving players and not harming the economy so we’ll put it at the bottom of our list? If it was something working before and it broke now, isn’t it normal to just rollback to the working version so players aren’t punish for extended periods by their incompetence and then they figure our why this is happening?
Just to clarify, the dragon chest bug is something to do with their DR or diminishing returns which causes the chest to NOT appear. I don’t really care about the abyssal loot drop from dragon chest, I care about not getting one at all
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
Karma dr has always existed, you’re suppose to take a break for like 15 mins or so for it to wear off. I haven’t hit karma DR for a long time and you can only hit it if you are farming karma for a long time. I’d say you should tone back a bit and enjoy the scenery lol
Being able to accomplish things casually and being faceroll easy is two different things. Often mistaken in this game.
As morrigan said, he is correct.
No offence but I putted over 2000 daggers in mystic forge to get spark the precurser and all I got is loss in gold, its the only thing that I need for incenerator I have a guildy that had 3 sparks in 200 daggers, it is just rediculous that players who are actually doing a lot more effort not getting anything….
can you please fix this stupid RNG generator as its totally unfair to players who are actually doing something and working for something….
Gz
Darkdanjal
It’s fair because everyone has a fair chance.. you can’t blame others for being luckier. All the socialism going on!!!
Also, interesting to see all the exaggerated amounts of rares put in the forge, you said you put over 10,000 rares? thats like 4000 gold, enough to buy almost every precursor.
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
Smells of a troll.. afk in a mob filled zone without dying? If you’re talking about a town, unless there is an invasion, towns are usually safe which renders your argument silly.
OP obviously hasn’t been looking at the t6 prices since the patch. The price of bloods has not doubled in the past few days. It’s been hovering from 25-30s.
The only T6 I can remember having a huge increase lately is armored scales.
Actually mate I was watching the blood prices, as I figured these are going to be the most expensive of the t6 mats I have been watching them closely. They were 16 silver a few days ago, trust me I was all over watching th price. It has doubled. The price of blood is ridiculously high, this is not a good barrier for new players trying to craft their first exotics.
Not everyone wants to sit there and play a market simulator or power trade all day, and because of the DR system this is causing a huge imbalance and a huge gap upon earning money by playing the market sim, and for those who are trying to put their work in in farming. There is no DR on the Trading post.
Whose to say you putting in your power trading work is worth more than us trying to work equally as hard farming? How is your time worth more than ours? ANET has clearly shown their side that they value traders more than others as the DR speaks for itself. Which is frustrating to all of those players that don’t want to power trade.
This is a problem. Anyways just my observations, I have been playing this game since release and have been watching this problem grow.
People who invest smartly and have a job of course will earn more money.. It’s like asking for a salary raise because another guy with the same job made some smart investments and has more capital…. Lol all the socialism going on here.
ALSO, just to add, don’t make it sound like playing TP is an instant win, if it was, why isn’t everyone doing. Everyday there are people losing hundreds of gold making the wrong investment choices and people who are making money on making smart ones. It is all calculated risk. I think it’s time for people to stop being jealous of other people and play at their own pace.
These situations are just like real life. Either not make investments and hold on to a healthy income or man up and make some calculated risk which could potentially double your income.

Representing, tried restarting, tried stand down/represent, still no work.
As shown in screenshot :/
Happen since yesterday or so. Doesn’t seem to be reported in game bugs in significant amount yet so i assume it’s only a small group of people who are getting this bug?
Less than a month ago the Lover bow was a little over 300g. Twice now all the bows on the market have been bought and raised in price. First the guy put them back up for 500g and now they’re 700g.
So my question is will there be something put in place to protect the tp from being abused like this in the future from trolly people who have too much money?
Sighz, as I said many many times before. The supply price can only be sustained if there is a DEMANNNNNNNNNNNDDDD for it. Obviously, there are people who think this is worth that much to buy. It’s like freaking Iphones, they don’t go down in price, they don’t do discounts, they barely upgrade their phone between generations but people KEEP BUYING.
It’s going to happen because they said it’s going to happen. Anet will not say or imply it at all if they didn’t want to do it.
The gem price argument is WEAK. There are unlimited methods for anet to earn money from through gem purchases then just precursors. That is just silly. Besides, when one price goes down, the o ther mats i.e the t6 mats will just go up in accordance to the increased amount of demand for it…
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
It’s amazing how there are people complaining about a perfectly healthy economy. It’s like people PREFER inflation to occur and to have big numbers in their bank that are worth nothing.
As I always say, the supply price can only be as high as what the demand is willing to pay!
This kind of reflects in real life too. A lot of young people think real money is made off salary but it’s not! For example, sure dentist usually get paid well, but well place investments easily out earn a man’s salary/wage. The key here is to apply both in conjunction. Why do you frown upon some well placed investments which literally any monkey can learn. There aren’t that many economic experts in the game world, just kids experimenting with stuff (the real ones are making real money, not virtual money…)
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
n terms of farming mobs now, if I do an hours farm in orr lets say, i typically earn between 1g for loot alone (i.e the grey stuff, not rares), and t6 mats, bags, t5 mats, rares I usually get at least 2-3gs worth)
So it all depending how you see it, it an average of 4g an hr a decent amount? I mean I personally only spend about 1 hr of my time doing only 1 of any of these things. So my average earning a day is about 4-5g + a bit of tp play, that ups it to around 7g a day. So that’s not bad in my books to get that per day. That means in a week if I play consistently i’ll earn about 50g? that’s a pretty good earning for me. With that amount of gold I can buy anything I want in terms of gearing up a character etc. Even if I wanted to farm for esthetics, it would only take me a month of casual play to buy a vision of the mist or any thing higher. In reality, I actually a bit more on that since you have on and off days (but i’ve really concentrated on saying i’m getting OFF days)
So is gold really an issue in this economy? the value of an item is defined by everyones demand and the price is only so high and people are only willing to pay so much for it. Bottom line, some people are just greedy and want instant win tactics, comparing to wow economy is a silly idea because both games have completely different inflation rates. In wow, 1000g is like nothing but most of the sort after gear are obtained through raids anyways. (i’m not as familiar with wow now, haven’t touched it for a good 3-4 years)
Really? scamming? Its neither deceptive or fraudlent, for it to be, I would have to activly influence the sellers idea of the price, which was never something I even hinted to in this post.. Its not scamming, or “borderland” scamming as you call it.
As for this “superior” system that protect players, really? how does it protect players? for it to protect players stuff like spidy would have to be built into the game so you couldnt possibly be wrong about the prices you sold at.
As for exploiting players, what makes you think this is not happening already? just in a slightly diffrent way, more subtle if you like, precursors is a perfect example of sellers exploiting the players “need” for a item.
Infact you could argue that trading by nature is all about exploiting others people needs, wants, lack of time, etcetc
Edit: Aztex, good points.
and Ohoni, I might agree with you except fact is you CAN make more money sitting in lion arch playing the tp, IF you got a very specific skillset, this limits the general populations ability to profit, while greatly rewarding those with that skillset.
Infact you could say that the current system plays right into the hands of shady characters, if you catch my drift.
I would like nothing more then being able to play the game to make a profit, but as it is its just not logical, the amount of gold you can make from farming is so limited due to the heavy DR or RNG that if you want to get ANYWHERE in the game, TP is THE option.
Ah sorry, it was borderline (I was typing this during work on my ipad lol) trading by nature is only exploiting others if the customer wasn’t fully informed what they’re buying. i.e. if you try sell an item which is obviously not it’s lowest value on the market but claim it is, that is borderline scamming to me (though it technically my not be, you could argue it is the customers fault who didn’t check the best price)
I really don’t see the argument of making money off TP by sitting there for days to days. With most investments, it’s not a short term investment, it’s not as simple as buying a bulk of stuff and then artificially increasing the price and then dumping it back out. The market is huge and will immediately correct for this. In fact, there are only a limited number of items on the market which can do this and sometimes you will need to coordinate these kind of actions with other people if you truly want to profit. Most real profit made on TP is by basic flipping, or medium term investments. This by no means require you to sit in tp for a long time, 30 mins at MOST is sufficient.
I notice above that several people try to justify that because of the LOW amount of gold we have, we have items which are almost worthless like food bt armor and sigils cost a lot more.. This is all to do with supply and demand. Obviously, a lot of people make these kind of foods whether it was to level up or other reasons, obviusly there was an excessive supply over demand here, that is why the price is low. Inflation will do nothing to help this, it may artificially increase the price of these items but the sigils and weapons will increase at the same rate. (it’s not going to only benefit the food while keeping the sigils the same, just doesn’t work that way).
Now on to the farming mechanism, some of the most basic ways to earn pure gold is just farming AC 3 paths in about 30-40 mins. You net about close to 3g in just gold and if you sell the items and account for rares and stuff then the total gold would vary between 2.7-5g in those minutes. Now, to me that’s an appropriate amount to earn for 30-40 minutes of work. If you do fractals you could earn less or more of it, it’s really dependent on your loot. If you mix a bit of cof in this, then you’ll probably earn about between 1-3g, gold wise you’ll probably get amount close to 1g at least from two paths and then you can acount for the loot.
You’re saying you prefer market failures because it adds a sense of opportunity?
In a way that is exactly what im saying, a healthy game market should in my opinion have a sense of opportunity, I rarely get that feeling at all in the current market, even when I do find a item with high return rates, it always ends up as a boring 1cp up pricing war.
Not fun at all.
One example of this is d3, It was a absoluty HORRIBLE game, and the amount of inflation in the ah made it progressivly worse.
But the sense of opportunity was great, It actually felt worthwhile to sit down and watch the prices of items for hours upon hours, actually getting rewarded for learning the actual value and demand of a item, rather then having the game tell you the demand etc.
The current TP works great for high quantity items like crafting mats etc, but for higher value items I don’t like it at all.
Infact chances are precursors would go down naturally in price if players wernt instantly informed that they can get 500g for them trough tp.
That said, I am not a very articulate man, nor am I a econmics wizards, So I am prob not the best person to explain how to do this or come up with how it should be done.
I do how ever know what I like in Mmos after 15+ years of playing them, and being able to get deals is one of the major draws for me, and it is something that has been possible in almost every single mmo up to date, with the exception of gw2.
Gw2 tp just seems to end up as a cold number crunching game to me, and I can’t find the fun in it.
and im gueesing im not the only one.
Edit: Dan, that is kinda my point, I feel allowing access to that info outside of game is a mistake.
I have to make the argument that your deals are coming at the expense of another player. You are arguing against market efficiency because you want to exploit other people easier, I don’t agree that’s a positive goal for the game overall (though I make no judgement about personal goals).
I would hardly consider it exploiting other players, that player would have the same possibility to learn prices as anyone else, not to mention those opportunities would also be open to him.
Point is you should be rewarded for getting accustomed to the values and demand of items, and for how much time you are willing to invest in selling that item.
The current system seems more like a safety net for people who want to sell theyr items at full price in the simple click of a button.
Also unlike the current system, what I propose does not require a specifc ADVANCED skillset, if anything overall it is more fair, as everyone has a shot, instead of just people with a economics degree, or a natural talent.
current system seems heavily in favour of people with overall economics knowledge, that are intrested in mid-long term investments.
If anything I would argue that the average player is already being exploited on a daily basis trough tp by those who know economics.
As for personal goal, my only personal “goal” when it comes to playing this game is having fun.. Currently this game is actively limiting my ability to do so in alot of cases.
I have fun grinding, when I get properly rewarded for it, I am not.
I have fun playing the Auction House, When it dosnt require 5 hours of number crunching to make a 5% profit.
I have fun doing endgame, when it feels like im progressing, also very limited.Deal hunting isnt a must for me to enjoy Trading post, but the current system dosnt have much opportunity for “fun”, if anything its more like having a second job.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy gw2 overall, however it could be ALOT better.
I have to disagree with you. While i do not hold any current economics degreee and i believe i have no natural talent to these sort of things. Ive been able to earn roughly 200-300g on tp alone. This is not a huge amount and by no means boastable but im just saying there is plenty of potential. On the other hand, what you say feels more like borderline scamming and you re just unhappy that gw has these superiors systems
which protect players. Like agents who make sure you re getting the best price.

It happened before but now it’s MUCH MUCH more common to get hit about it. Probably to do with whatever new change they added. I mainly stick with just jormag now since his preevents kinda “unbugs” it for me.
and back then 20g could have bought you a dusk. (actually I don’t really count initial game since people had no idea of the worth at the start but roughly when I saw prices stabilize it was bout 60g, then it jumped hardout in a few days by manipulators, exploits etc. Anyways, to answer your question, anet does acknowledge somewhat that the precursor prices are not quite as intended and are closely monitored. Their initial attempt as a solution during lost karka was a major failure and now they’re planning but is not put in priority a scavenger hunt.
In short, have patience, don’t buy it now, new methods of obtaining them will come. Legendaries are legendary because they take time.
Gold was harder to earn at that time, as the game opened up, gold became a lot easier to farm. It’s like 1 US dollar back in the 1900 is not equal 1 US dollar today.
yea if people wan to camp their characters and only kill dragons whats the issue? its not an exploit, as long as they arent botting its doing nothing wrong and they shouldnt be punished for it, they paid for the game they get to decide how to play it
I agree with you, but you are wrong in the eyes of every game company out there. You may buy their game, spend actual money in their cash shops, and fulfill all terms and conditions, but you still do not have the right to decide how you play the game. Anet, like all the others, wants you to do it their way only and they will tell you what that is, or you have to find out somehow if it is ninja’d in.
You have to be aware, that you only buy the privilege to play the game (how they want to let you, when they want to let you, etc.), nothing more. All these companies have the right to change or take away any or all things within at any time and are not even required to inform you ahead of time.
It sucks, but that is the real situation. They will likely never fully admit to it, and do not call them, confront them, or insult them on it at any time. A staffer who takes a dislike to you can cause a lot of havoc with your game account, in-game experience, and even the financial means you use to acquire expansions or cash shop items. And unless they are sloppy, you can never prove it. We just have to live with it.
Come on guys, have a little more faith in Anet, though a lot of it is fueled by money, there is still a little good about it. I’m sure this is ultimately a bug that they’re being very very slow to fix about it because it’s not breaking the economy but just grieving the players.
First of all, i want to start off by thanking you guys for fixing the orrian merchant. I posted a previous bug where the armor sets didn’t have an upgrade in them while other dungoen merchants did. Even though I didn’t get a reply, it seems the last update fixed it. However, I’ve notice now that the CoE merchant sells a powerful potion of UNDEAD slaying, instead of inquest slaying? I’m sure this is a bug since all the other merchant sell their own associated potion.
Why was the user infracted for this post?
Precursors changes are coming.. just very.. very… slowly
While the razer one does look ok, I kind of dislike the integrated battery (unless there is a way to replace it still) since a lot of laptop batteries show signs of reduced life span after a year. With asus laptops, I’ve not been a great fan of them, they tend to run very hot. Sony makes some fairly okay laptops (but expensive) but they’re not really into the high end business since they know that cooling is a huge issue. Even then, the top end ones will be able to handle gw2 at reasonable levels.
thinner is the auto attack, thicker is usually a channeling skill? unless you’re talking about your adrenaline bar (charge to activate your special)
You can only buy so many bank slots.
I think Jormag’s Breath is fine. If anything, the Fiery Dragon sword needs to be adjusted (toned down). Despite having access to that skin for the entire game I have never wanted to use it because it’s just too big. When sheathed at the hip the fiery effect clips horribly with the ground – it just extends out too far past the physical blade.
This.
Agreed, jormag’s breathe looks great the way it is, the fiery sword on the other hand is like a few ticks from a forest fire.
would you pay to change race? we know that there are items in BM that allows you to change appearance and gender. but would you pay money to change your race for whatever reason? I would gladly pay a little $10 or whatever to change race if ever possible.
Race change won’t come because it’ll alter the story of your character. Name change will eventually somewhere a long the line.
…more than elitists.
This is a slight rant, otherwise there’d be no motivation to post, nor will there be any unnecessary steps to be nice. Saying it like it is, but if discussion were to take place, let’s just keep it civil and exchange opinions. No need to deride, no need to be rude.
Speaking of opinions, this shall be mine.
WoW is usually held up or down as some sort of universal comparison tool. Not because it is the most accurate depiction of what an mmo should be, but being around for so long, it encompasses an audience and a very varied content we’d be able to relate to.
As raids were highly organized, merits would usually be earned one way or another through personal favors or exceptional gameplay. But let’s stick to the latter for this post’s relevance. This elusive reference of “skill” would often be nurtured and be used for bragging rights for whichever silly reason. But to further augment this skill, there are character/profession builds to optimize whatever you contribute to the party.
Thus an elitist age of gameplay claws its way into the foreground. People’s gear, build and gameplay would be scrutinized and stringent criteria for LFG/LFM would come into play. Personally, this handicap would only be a temporary bane for anyone’s continued interest or access to content if you made a reasonable effort to be prepared instead of being carried by strangers.
I find it unsettling when newbies run off into the sunset and cry about being kicked from parties or walk away from a good run feeling as if they contributed something meaningful when in actual fact, they were carried very snugly by others who made an extra effort to gear or read up on content. But they’re newbies, they’re too ignorant to know better. That’s no sin.
The problem is exacerbated when Guild Wars 2 or related media positions this game to be all about playing the way YOU want it and further cemented by long time carebears. Some of you have probably run dungeons with really nice people whom you thought probably grew marshmallows out of their ears if you ever met them in person. Along the way, their child would cry, or the postman would come, or silly mistakes which you probably overcame on your second run but they still fall victim even though they have over 4000 achievement points (an inaccurate reference but it is something we inevitably draw a conclusion about a player’s “experience” with the game). Then the run takes 3 times longer than it should have. There is a point when a relaxed pace turns into a waste of time.
Now because of this “it’s all about you” campaign, sometimes out of my own folly i overstep the line and give unsolicited advice. My bad. Tried to give advice to the bow/rifle toting warrior who put out 3 different banners + elite banner, that guardian in full soldier gear running staff/scepter while the rest of the team gets massacred, and other colorful varieties of “fail”. But they like their build they said. It’s their right, I don’t pay the bills.
You see, when an elitist culture is set in, your feelings are hurt, but nobody’s time gets wasted. But when someone stubbornly convinced it’s all about him, nevermind playing the better way, other people has to pay for his mistakes. See the contrast?
Now, this post is already very long, and the above situations are heavily simplified. Please do not nitpick at analogies or examples, just get the gist of things and that’s fine.
Point? This game has gone down the gutter coaster too much in the direction of “I play it my way”. It’s true I can choose not to pug, on the otherhand, I’m not alone on this yearning for a little less anonymity of who we invite to the party when we’re pugging.
So really, who’s the selfish one?
The selfish one is the one who thinks that their time is the only important one being wasted.
Never buy in big stacks. If you’re going to do these kind of trades, ALWAYS ALWAYS buy in small portions. e.g 10 ectos at a time. Seriously, it may be more time consuming but it’s worth it. If that guy says no, then you just saved yourself from being scammed.
Engineers are really good now! springroll everything :o
