It seems your system or at least your gw2 account has been compromised so I would suggest you find the leak and change you info (even for your other possible accounts). Secondly, if the emails are so annoying, there is a spam function present and you’ll never get an email again from Anet, though that is highly not recommended.
I think it’s to stop gold sellers from using it to trade money with buyers. I assume tracking in game mail is a lot easier than tracking guild bank transactions
How about they deal with the Gold sellers means of acquiring gold.. rather than the theoretical means of delivering it. I see harvest bots daily, I run across farming bots daily. It never ends. THAT is what needs addressed.
If indeed your theory is correct.. its the same old ANET. They will remove something from innocent players.. and this change will indeed remove it… and all this does to the abusers is a temporary setback they will work around shortly. This happened over and over in GW1. Nothing new.
It’s either lose the vault or have DR hit you harder. Personally, I rather lose the vault, it’s a minor thing for most people and still sufficiently affordable for guilds to use it.
ONE poster conjectures that this was to stop gold sellers. ONE. And, thanks for the example, as DR impacts honest players harder than the automated bots who really don’t care, since there is no DR on harvestables.. and they run farm bots for weeks unconcerned with DR anyway.
I dunno where to begin on how wrong you are but I’ll end with this. DR impacts bots a lot more than honest players.

Edit: Dealing with the delivery is a very big part of stopping gold sellers. You catch them in the act of the crime.

People who invested more time are naturally rewarded with more points? I don’t get your point. Do you want a just fresh started player being able to beat a long time veteran player who has been playing since release? There are many achievements out there which gives points much more than daily which is a maximum of 10 points per day (rarely anyone does all 10 I believe)

Hey.
The problem laid in my messages, I didn’t think about receiving bank tabs as consumables… I emptied my inbox and got what I purchased.
As for the accidential double-purchase, I like having 3 bank tabs, I will simply buy more gems since I like supporting GW2 even though I would make many changes to this game.
DIVA
Nice to know it got resolved
Imagine for a moment, that you’re shopping and come across a newly installed candy machine. You dig into your pockets and find a quarter which you promptly place in the coin slot. You turn the handle, and the delicious candy starts to flow from the spout.
Red ones, green ones, yellow ones…your hands start to fill up with all the wonderful colors and your mouth starts to water. After a few seconds, you start to think, “Wow, this is a great value!”
You place the fists full of candy into your pocket, and walk away with a giant grin on your face.
A few moments later two security guards grab you and escort you to the door. They explain that you didn’t use the candy machine as intended, and because you took more candy than you should have, you are now banned from the mall for life.
Is this fair?
I have always had a huge problem with the way ArenaNet handles exploits. First, their policy is that even asking if something is an exploit is forbidden and can result in being banned. Second, if you happen to participate in an exploit, you risk having your account suspended, regardless if you knew it was an exploit or not.
The flaw in this logic is that it creates a situation in which gamers are required to guess the intended functionality or outcome. In a game where thousands of different things can happen (and is known to contain bugs), it seems like a lot to ask for players to guess which parts are working as intended and which are not. Additionally, many players bring their experiences with other games to Guild Wars 2, which may give them different expectations or understanding.
This creates a situation in which players risk losing access to the game, for something they may not even be aware is considered wrong. Those who seek more information, are told not to discuss these things, but to simply stop doing what those doing (to be on the safe side), and report what they feel may be an exploit.
The problem is that because ANet doesn’t discuss exploits, allow us to question them publicly, provide feedback to exploit reports, or warn players, it means that players risk account termination, and makes ANet look like unsympathetic bullies.
I personally feel the best solution is for ANet to start being transparent about what is, and isn’t considered an exploit. For example, it was recently discovered that players could gain the drinking achievement by using “magic bottles” found in some places around the world. A thread was started asking if this was an exploit, and ANet replied with, “We’re looking into it.”
Eventually it was patched, but what happened to those who either didn’t see the forum post, or didn’t consider it an exploit, yet now face account termination?
If ANet would allow players to inquire about potential exploits, without fear of being banned, then players could quickly find out what they should and shouldn’t be doing. From there, ANet should release in-game, and out-game messages, warning players of the exploit, and any caught using it risk having their account terminated.
This would allow players to avoid exploits they may have been unaware of, and give ANet a much more solid case for terminations.
Players shouldn’t feel scared to play the game. They also shouldn’t be permanently punished for something they may have been unaware they were even doing. Allow players to voice concerns, and address them openly and honestly. Most players, if given adequate warning will avoid these things, and create a much nicer gaming experience for all.
In the situation you have described, I would have maybe taken an extra 1 maybe even 2 candies. But if the whole machine poured out for me, I would have probably warned the associated person or left it alone.
Difference between an honest or greedy exploiting player. Anet won’t ban you because you accidentally ran into an exploit but didn’t abuse it vigorously. But they will ban you if they know you know and continued to do so for your own benefit.
A better scenario is if the ATM machine started raining money out of it because of a malfunction, would you take the money?
Exploiter answers they took the money. The next day, he realizes it was all caught on the security camera and he gets jail time.

Hey there.
So today I decided to support the game and bought 1600 gems for 20€ (although it is hard to understand why Americans get the same amount for 20$ but I is this way.)
No problems purchasing your currency for money. Then I bought an additional bag-slot as well as an extra bank tab.
I walked to the bank but nothing was added, so I confirmed the window in the black lion window where it stated “Bank Tab Expension”. Appearently this has bought me another bank tab which I did not want.
To be clear here, I want two things:
1. I want to have the extra bank tab I just bought with real money.
2. I want the 600 gems back for my 2nd purchase where I thought I confiremd the first.Thank you very much…
DIVAPS: I desperately tried to use the customer support, but the website it redirected me to was extremely hard to comprehend.
If you buy the bank expansion, it comes as an ingame mail in which you have to activate. If you mail box is full, delete some mail and check again.
Also, Anet does offer refunds for gem items as far as I know…
Also, wrong section. Should have posted this in something like account issue or a support ticket which is more appropriate.
The little monkey above the gate can be dispatched if you manage to get on the platforms during the checkpoint bounce.
Check your mail box. If you got banned, there will be a reason why?
You sure you put in 4 daggers? I’ve had times where I mixed up the sword as GS and got something random back.
again if it happend to you, you wont say like this. Do not say it like a sure thing. but thats the end of the story. I won’t waste time to explain anymore things. + do you think its not a problem of the UI if player do able to lost a expensive item like this.
Just go to check how GM help in Finalfantasy XI and WOW before you try to say something.
This has nothing to do with it happening to me. As a matter of fact, I’ve been in similar situations where I lost items because of Anets fault (world wide mini server roll back) but they still said they can’t restore anything for me. I am merely stating a fact that no matter how that item was lost, Anet does not do item restorations other than the account wide restoration if you got hacked. No point comparing GMs from other games, it won’t help.
Exploits are usually dealt with manually to my knowledge. It is hard for a false positive to occur for such a thing.
The ban is pretty clear. Sounds like you’ve been doing some exploiting? Either in the new super adventure box or some other dodgy thing you’ve been participating in?
Exploits are usually dealt with severely, (perma bans) a 335 hrs seems you have gotten off quite lightly.
well thats the bug, if i know it will lost by lick the link i won’t link it at the 1st place.
2nd if i know it will lost by this bug i will sure take a screen shot before it lost in the invintory.
if this is happend on your charater you will not say something like that for sure lol.
but i wont blame lol. i am not that stupit to drop it back to the forge as the storm is an excotic, i only forge the yellows.
People make mistakes, just like how your post is filled with them.
(also linking items don’t cause things to disappear)

Is mission control enabled in your ranks?
I didn’t get it on my elementalist who was there but when I did it again on my mesmer, I got both the daily and normal chest. Keep in mind, I was well past the reset time of the chest (at least 12 hours)
They always say that because gw2 does not provide replacements for lost items. Though most likely, it was lost because of something the user did (they obviously will say otherwise but I have yet to meet a bug which makes items disappear (aside from a small server rollback which would be all over the forums)
Also, your screenshot proof is weak. You do not show the weapon is in your inventory at all. If anet handed out weapons based on a text code (which can easily be found from gw2db, everyone will have precursors by now.
What most likely happened and this happens more than it should, is people throw stuff in forge, get a precursor but do not realise they got it, then threw it back into the forge accidentally (because the icon looks the same as a normal scepter).
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
Just got to be careful that they’re not people who park their alts on mining nodes
Probably not but good on you
I have to fully agree with the OP. I don’t get the point behind all this. Not my style at all, I am not a kid anymore and I don’t wish to play Nintendo or Mario or whatever all these games are called. This is not GW…what’s going on?
It definitely feels like you weren’t old enough to appreciate these games when you were young.
I’ve encountered a strange bug, I can’t seem to use anything in the guild on my “home server” (SoS). I.e. changing ranks, guild bank, etc nothing works. If I want to change the rank access of something the checkbox simply won’t check. However. If I guest to any other server, my guild bank and controls automatically work again. I tried changing servers, changing characters, un/representing but nothing seems to fix it.
Edt: It seems after sometime, I checked again and it appears to have fixed itself. Nevertheless, it may reoccur so it can be an annoyance.

Boonhate on paper does sound incredible counter-intuitive and silly. Hopefully, the real implementation of it won’t be.
mfind doesn’t affect it. I’ve heard people getting them in 5 and people not getting them in 500. So I dunno. 500 is probably an exaggeration by an unhappy customer but I’d say at least 100 to have a “decent” chance.
Yes you will…. zoom unlocker gives players unintended advantages in wvw (use skills over gates) or just a better vantage point due to more zoom than other players.
Yeah, I really don’t understand the warrior buff and rangers and engineer nerfs. Those are the two most classes people dislike partying with most since they think they don’t really bring “anything to the party”. Nerfing them will just make people go… “do you have another class?”
Put it in suggestions. I think guild discussion is one of the sections anet employees read least.
Lol, the fix is working very well actually. i see a lot less people at world events now.
Yeah this is very silly, I actually enjoyed using portal gun as a leap over my own leap since my one sometimes screws up and targets a mob out of my control. As they say, if portal gun is a bug then mesmer port should be banned too i guess.
I don’t know if I really will keep playing GW2, considering the road Anet is going.
It’s really getting a pay-to-win game. Yes I know you don’t need the skins as they wont improve your stats or anything, but frank an MMO is about getting new gear and style items. But hey I need to invest real money for that..Seriously?
Please tell me what is pay to win in this game?
All high tier servers stay at very high 24/7.
BL Chest weapon skins…
Sigh.
Couldn’t you just make them simple purchases? Do you have to add crappy gambling?
Gambling = more money to them, and I don’t blame them. They’re skins, nothing more so you’re not forced to purchase them to make your char great.
Don’t complain when you gamble and lose, though.
My guess is you will see chests drop a lot more often now to encourage buying keys.
Chest was never an issue to gather anyways. They’re dirt cheap on tp too lol
When’s this update going Live?
It should be up in an hour or less.
Oh a side note, I’m quite surprised they made no changes to Cof p1. I had thought the way people farm it wasn’t intended.
I thought Mantra mesmers would receive a buff :-/ so sad… and I thought the “no salvaging items from vendors” was supposed to be for white items to prevent ppl from buying their dailies… hadn’t thought about rares from dungeon vendors, really wanted to do that but hadn’t yet.
cheapest merchant sell whites for like silvers though while you can probably buy blues and whites to salvage for half a silver lol
If you delete a character of a name owned by you. You can immediately use it. If someone else deletes a character with a name you want, there is a 24 hour waiting time I believe.
This is according to normal name assigning. I’m not too sure if the tickets differ.
I’m curious why they did this: “Weapons sold by vendors are no longer salvageable.”.
I know karma vendor items weren’t salvageable (even though I think we should be able to at least salvage upgrade items from them).Haven’t finished reading the notes yet, so I may add more.
I believe using 30 tokens to buy rares and salvage them was not intended by anet.
Can you put them in the forge? I wonder if that will change in the future.
yeah, you could put them in the forge. Not sure about now though.
Edit, actually when I think about it more carefully, not sure you can get rare weapons from dungeons, rare armor definitely. You could definitely chuck exotic weapons into the forge though. I’ve done that before.

Yeah, I am looking forward to the WvW update but SoS has been performing so bad lately and a lot of guilds are leaving, so it’ll be a rough beating for us at least for another week or two.
I wonder what kind of rewards this new instance will be bringing
So now that the patch notes are up, what are your thoughts on it. I notice that name change contract has/will be added into the gem store. That seems like a nice addition. Furthermore, living story seems to have added a a new instance so that will keep a few players busy.
I think there are several other issues I would have hoped that they had addressed too, such as precursor prices but I mean it’s not bad for a march update. Also it seems the achievement leader-board won’t useable until they gather enough data if my understanding of it is correct?
There seems to be some significant class adjustments, mostly in the engineering section.
One of the biggest nerfs in this patch seems to be quickness (100 % to 50 %).
(edited by Lafiel.9372)
JQ is probably a good server to play in, they need the people.
A member of my guild got 8K ectos at 24s and sold them at 29s
That is a tiny profit for investing 1.9k gold lol
As Rasolov would say “no no no”. Trinity does not promote skill at all but lazy gameplay for 3 out of 5 of the party members.
@Lafiel – I’ve just asked if that is possible. Thats all. If yes – then make at least one customer more happy. If not – so be it.
Okay, I guess i can understand that. However, since your change is more of a your convenience sake than an actual problem, I doubt the implementation will be adjusted because of that.
I do not get it. I’ve asked for something, then I’m the bad guy. May I ask how you get the statistics that this is only for small %? I do not care about culling or skill bugs for example. My original question was:
“Would it be possible to modify it to the same method as after karka event (by mail) the or by chest like daily which could be open by any character.”
There was no ANet answer at all. If its possible and change by just small code change – why to not do that and skip discussion? If it is hard, require extensive work – then the answer “Unfortunatelly it is not possible” is also suitable.
Everything I received – “this is unnecessary change” from gamers like me. We have the same rights to complain or define what is more important for you or me. But please do not set yourself in a position – my voice is voice of majority.
@Lafiel – I want to play as I played so far. Is that hard to understand? I didn’t care about particular level of loot I knew that if I want do try to get it later I could just login in several hours and do it other char.
@penatbater – the water example is valid (of course in my opinion) – it is only annoyance for small miniority of citizens – only you and your family is affected. Why rest of us should bother? There are more important tasks for plumbers. One more thing – what you offered me is workaround. Now personal question : in your life do you search for workaround for daily problems or do you try to find/ask for an acceptable solution for the root cause ?
Your reply basically tells me you want anet to work to your convenience down to the slightest detail which is comfortable with you?
I don’t get the point of this post, if you want an 80 reward from daily chest, do it on a 80 character? Are you trying to save WP fee so anet will make this change for your convenience?
Cool data :o! thanks for the hard work. This also seems to confirm to me that anything above level 68 which gives an ecto will have the same chance regardless of level.
I don’t want to quote your entire post but let me try answer you as clearly as I can since there seems to be something that you aren’t figuring out right.
First statement I want you to make clear in your head is, There are difference in real life and virtual. You can’t always compare both. Most logical people in the world don’t spend thousands of their own money to grief others while in game, that happens more than necessary.
Firstly in my post I said if there was NO tax I would put a storm as an example up for 1000g and I wouldn’t really care if it sold because i wouldn’t be taxed for it. (then you went on to give an example of how TAX does give an incentive (which is my point) for people to sell i.e. 1000g item has 50g tax (who would put up an item except the obscenely rich just for fun)
Now onto the point, if tax didn’t exist, people would put up items at obscene prices just so they can use it as one of the following things:
Put it up there just for fun
Use it as an unofficial bank
Manipulate the prices of low supply items.
Sure, some people will put up an item with the intention of selling it while many others may not. The biggest issue is if you have no tax fee. There will an undercut war going on constantly. People will always be undercutting each other by 1c at a time on the sale post and it will be highly unproductive. Imagine yourself never being able to sell an item because you’re constantly being undercut by someone else who is 1c cheaper thanks to there being no 5 % tax to minimise that from happening to you. I assure you, if there was no tax, there would be so much undercut going on that the people who actually get to sell their items are the guys who spend 24/7 on TP watching every trade and undercutting it by 1c at a time.
Now you can say that what if I apply my 1g concept, that way tax fee still acts to control it. Oh ho no it doesn’t. As I will go on to say, 1g is nothing in comparison to a precursor price. I will gladly pay that 1g just to undercut someone else selling it for slightly lower. I’m losing out on 1g in order to make a profit of 598.99 minus trading fee. Thus again another undercut war where the most active guy wins.
Now onto a situation where someone picks up a precursor worth 600g but cant sell because he only has 11g. Let me outline to you that is a USER problem.
If the person doesn’t have the money to pay the initial trading post cost, then he will have to gather it up in order to post it up. It is by no means Anet or the trading posts fault if the player cannot sum up the amount of money to make the sale. 30g isn’t even that hard to earn. 1 (2 weeks at most) for most average players.
As I have also mentioned, that is why tax gives an incentive of putting up realistically sell able prices. I.E. if this user wanted to make sure he made the sale without losing out on his tax, he would hae to put it lower. Like 550g? if he puts it at 600g and the price drops, he can either, wait it out for the price to rise again OR take it out and fork out the tax again. That is what keeps the price from fluctuating excessively. People actually have CONSEQUENCE for putting up unrealistic sale prices.
1g is nothing compared to a precursor worth 600g.
I didn’t say 5 % was nothing. I said it was little already. I would up it to 10 % maybe, just to bring the prices down to a more realistic degree.
“If it causes higher prices, it would be because of inflation (which is something I stated in my original post), not because “LOL SELLERS CAN SET WHATEVER PRICES THEY WANT”. In the real world, do you see people selling toilet paper for $1,000,000 just cuz they can? No, of course not. People are intelligent enough to realize that the costs (in time, labor, or whatever) of taking an item off the shelf over and over again to reprice for the entertainment value is ridiculous, and just a loss of money. Eventually, they’ll have to realize that they’re losing money by wasting time.”
Lastly, to quote you here. You can’t compare the real world with the virtual world. In the virtual world, no matter what you do, you’re not taking any real risk towards your real money i.e it’s not a real money auction house. It’s a game. Some people will set whatever the price they want with the above reasons I have mentioned further above. Do you remember when the first twilight was put on TP? I think it was at about 5000 gold. Do you think anyone bought it? Even now, the precursors are all put at somewhere between 2-4k g. I doubt many of them sell but people just put it up there.
