Just tried to sell Zhed’s Gloves on the Trading Post and after about 30 seconds I got an “Error Attempting to Sell”. The gloves did not show back up in my inventory and were not listed on the Trading Post. Can someone please restore the item back into my inventory so I can attempt to sell these again? That’s about a 3.6g loss. =[

You sure it’s not come back to you in the last tab of the trading post?

Molten Pick... Ori or Master?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

I’m debating if I should get the Molten pick and it really comes down to 1 question. Is this new pick equivalent to an Ori Mining Pick or a Master Mining pick.

For those who don’t know, Ori Picks will only mine things up to Ori grade, while Master picks are capable of mining all metals. This means in 6-9months when they announce the expansion and increase the tier of materials, Ori picks will be useless, but Master picks will be good as ever. So the question is… is this an Ori pick or a master pick?

If I can use this pick for the rest of the game it is probably worth the 55,000 uses it would take to break even. If it is going to be obsolete in 9 months or so then it probably isn’t worth it.

Depends which master pick, the master pick with a lower than 35 level limit can only mine up to mithril (if 35) and like darksteel if 15. Judging from the description, this pick will mine ALL metals so yeah, you’re covered for any possible future nodes that may be release if that ever happens.

The combat system need some changes - in my opinion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lafiel.9372

The combat isn’t challenging, where are you getting that from, the OP states how the combat visually does not match up with what it’s trying to reflect.

They call an ability “dodge” where in reality it causes invulnerability. Lock on attacks undermine movement and those of you who think your movement is “dodging” attacks, it is not, the monsters are out of range or there is an obstruction and melee mobs are a joke and perfect example of this where circle strafing causes them to kitten out, this even works on pure melee champs meaning the encounter has no added depth it just takes far longer which is a good explanation as to why champs drop garbage when solo’d anyway.

You can tell the combat isn’t very engaging because the way they scale difficulty is increasing damage output and hp count.

You have outlined yourself in the OP that you have trouble:

Using the dodge function as it was intended (so you use it only as a means to prolong kiting, which is one of the many viable methods to use it)

You have indicated that you have trouble following the animation and beat of a boss and thus foreseeing and incoming attack. Something other players can do well in.

You have trouble maintaining melee distance with attacks while OTHER players can do this excellently (while you blame the combat system).

you rely on the CLASSES to define the responsibility when in gw2, it is a situational responsibility.

No idea what you’re talking about when you say going to grounds but saying you’ll always die against champion sounds farfetched?

So tell me again how this does know show you find the content challenging?

It doesn’t challenge me, I’m sitting here thinking “well there could be a much more fluid way of doing the same thing that would be far more satisfying”. I beat games very quickly and then pick them apart afterwards figuring out how they could achieve what they’re trying to do but better.

Avoiding damage is where MMO’s are finally seeing the light and in GW2 there is only one way to do so which is to become invulnerable in short bursts. The general playstyle of all classes are actually quite frantic and fast paced, what’s very interesting about TERA is it has a range of play styles from very slow and cumbersome (berzerker) to very fast paced and frantic (warrior).

GW2 is lacking regular avoidance mechanics that don’t involve ‘dodging’ like blocking, sometimes it’s the visual that goes along with the mechanic that changes how a person engages with what’s going on; not everyone wants to be a ninja rolling around.

Now someone said that people don’t generally talk about the combat, and this is a bad thing, it means people aren’t that invested in it. People always discuss what they’re most invested in and I speculate that people just aren’t that crazy about GW2 combat, more indifferent than anything else.

Well there are many ways to dodge or block attacks other than using the dodge function. One example I can give is when I play my mesmer. I run her as full berserker, that means I have very little room for mistakes usually. One of the ways I evade damage is by taking advantage of my “blur” on sword 2 and illusion shatter on f4. There is also a block function on my off hand sword if necessary, though I rarely find a need for that. Likewise, ranger has similar ability with their sword, which allow them to evade attacks while attacking. Guardians also have aegis/block skills to compensate, necros have death shroud etc.

In a sense, I regularly use every mechanic available for each class in order to survive and maintain good damage against mobs. Sure, I do admit that some of the encounters require some spicing up to make it more fun and enjoyable rather than just repetitively doing the same thing over and over again because of excessively large HP pools but we’re seeing some revisits on certain dungeons to make things more interesting.

In my opinon, what really needs to be fixed is not the combat system, but build diversity. Also, we need to have more skills in place so not every class running the same weapon is running the exact same skills. Right now we have 5 fixed skills for 2-h weap and 3 for 1h 2 for offhand. This number needs to be doubled. We still have 5 max fixed skills at one time but we get to choose out of 10, they can even put it in categories like traits, so people don’t go for all the burst type skills and neglect support stuff.

Despite everything so glorious about GW2, quite literally everything; combat is just so darn awkward in this game, it’s like it doesn’t know whether or not it wants to be tab target or action combat.

I love the jumping puzzles, I love the exploration, I love the art and animation, I love the story, I love the music, I &^%$ing love the immersion, I love the holiday events, I love how questing works (DE’s + Hearts), I love vistas, I love the trading post, I love the achievements and daily achievements, I love scaling my level down to zones, I love that there’s no power creep…
`
`
I love GW2 to bits but I hate, hate, hate, haaaaaate the combat so much:
`
`
`
- dodging isn’t used for dodging it’s used for prolonged kiting including MELEE classes: kitten!?
- attack sequences have no sense of timing in their animation so it’s difficult to feel the beat of an incoming attack which leads everyone to resort to kiting
- attacks come in high frequency with such a high rate of damage that being in melee is something you cannot do for more than a few seconds
- going to ground means nothing, when fighting normal mobs you’ll kill it and get back up, against champions you’ll always die ergo this mechanic adds no depth to these encounters
- there’s no distribution of responsibility to the individual when going to ground as the party MUST take care of you when you’re down, which makes you feel useless when this happens in a boss fight

- the trinity was removed without a reason or a rework to HOW monsters attack us, we’re put in situations where we’re constantly beat on where our CD’s run out very quickly and the champions will continue to kill us with no reliable way for the party or the individual to stop the champion from directly attacking us

OR

- the champion is melee and we all kite with no danger what so ever, if it’s ranged then face tank absolutely everything after CDs and it becomes a game of musical chairs of who gets to go down on the ground next do nothing and contribute nothing

OR

- everyone specced something tanky and we ignore all mechanics and heal through everything. You can remove dedicated healing, but someone is always getting mauled in the face: you can’t remove dedicated tanking, the party could tank together by rotating aggro through each player or simply have a tank who tanks

- why isn’t there a spec for dodging or blocking, i.e. you can spec into blocking so the yellow meter allows you to block temporarily rather than dodge allowing a straight up melee class that stays in melee

- lock on ranged champions: WHAT. THE. %^@#. Lock on ranged attacks in general make no sense, is this game tab target or action combat? Pick kitten
`
`
`
I left a month after GW2 came out and really wanted to hold on, I still do but the combat kicks me out of the game every time I play it. I was hoping by now there would be word on where the combat in the game will be heading but so far there hasn’t been and I’m really sad about this.

Not to be offensive but after reading what you wrote, it feels as though you’ve been a player who has been carried as a DPS all your life and when your own survivability is put into test, your true colours show. I.e. you’re not a very good guild wars 2 player.

Sorry to say, the combat is working as intended from my point of view. Sure there a few things they could be fixed but overall, there is no huge issue with it. I use dodge sparingly and at the right moments, I can tell animations when a boss is about to use a certain move and I have to evade or block it, I can stay in melee range of almost every mob i’ve encountered in the game for 80 % of the fighting time with it. So yeah, people who complain about gw2 combat system are the very people who have been baby-fed the trinity system for far too long and are incapable of change.

Btw, there IS an aggro system in gw2, it is just more sophisticated then your average threat based system. I have no trouble keeping aggro on a mob when required.

Why are classes so hit-and-miss?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

Some classes seem to be almost a “must have” (Warrior, Mesmer), while others seem to be considered useless (Ranger, Necro). Has ANet even considered buffs to the “lesser” classes?

It could be that I just have a shallow view of the classes, but I don’t think that’s the case. The “good” classes seem to be sought out, while the others are usually dismissed or kicked from groups.

I play a Zerk Warrior, and don’t have even the smallest issue getting invited to groups, while on my Necro, I couldn’t get a group to save my life. It’s really discouraging to not be able to play the class you want.

Necros are useful, can’t say the same for rangers.

Above people are totally exaggerating. I run all profession CoFs ALL the time and most of the time they’re pretty ok. Sure there may be a few bad runs here and there but it’s not a class issue, but a player issue. People often mistake gameplay to be a class issue rather then a player issue. Warriors are more sought after because they’re easier to master and even if you’re crap you still can dish out some damage before you die. In fact, most unskilled zerker warriors will never see the light of day in any other dungeons beside CoF1 mainly because most bosses take longer then 10 seconds to kill due to their mechanics.

zerker warriors are effective if you know how to run it, just like any other zerker class. However, most people don’t know how to run zerker classes propery (i.e extremely low survivability) and causes more issue then it gains. However, the problem with you lies with that you were silent the whole time and then suddenly offered non constructive condescending remarks. Sure the group shouldn’t have been 12 yr old kids and kicked you just for that, but if you’re going to be one of those people who don’t communicate throughout the group, you either stick to it, or offer constructive feedback to the group throughout.

What people don’t realise is when people ask for NEED guardian is because they NEED a guardian. It’s not like they have 4 guardians in their party and they need a 5th one. It’s that that have 4 other classes in their party and they NEED a guardian for their support skills. This goes the same for MESMERS. It’s not like they have 4 mesmers in their party already, but they have 4 OTHER professions in their party and they need a MESMER for their tw/support stuff. Warriors are the real classes that need to be looked at .

I am here to say that this bug is still not fixed since then since, then and again, I still don’t get a chest reward or even the daily chest for killing the boss first time. The reason why it hasn’t been so prominent nowadays is because people don’t have to kill the dragons as often. It seems that prioer to the last march change ( the feb change actually seemed to have fixed it ) but the current march changes has brought this bug back again… Here is a screenie to show you what has happened. Bounty Training Mission failed

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

Hmmm, so let me get this clear
I activated the bounty, did not get any message, went into guild window, found it, told my guild mate I’d check her in wiki, checked wiki, how much time? It DID NOT take more than 4 minutes between activation, wiki checking, and going to the map, then not even a full minute before finding her as she was right in the second waypoint inside the town in the route I took from the first one, 2 chars going each one way using speed boosts from the more separated waypoints. Reading a text in a window, writing a name in wiki and watching the result did not take more than 3 minutes. When we started fighting her, it was not even 6 minutes TOP if you want to add some time wasted after we activated the Bounty, that is why I posted this here, if I were unsure, or if we took too much time finding her I’d not be posting it in forums, I am very sure we killed her even before 11 minutes of the time had passed, as it was yet 57 seconds left of the 5 minutes window when she gave up. That is the reason of this post. I wrote this in hope devs read it and find a fix for this possible glitch, or bug, or whatever it is because it is NOT funny or fair when things like this happen. I don’t know if there is another mechanic involved in a Bounty different than time, because we did it in time, and that also is the reason of this. Even if we were both under the effects of some psychotropic and were lost in time there was thins thing, she had been hit only twice? 3 times? not much as the failed mission message was almost immediate, very few seconds, I wrote 5, could have been less, but not more, I dont think my second attack had reached yet when it popped. The only thing I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE OF is that we did kill her very well inside the time we had for it. Thank you guys for your answers.

The guild bounty has started is just one line and can be easily missed. It’s 15 minutes from that point on. If you want to make sure you don’t fail because of out of time, make sure you have 7 minutes to spare when you find and activate the bounty. Otherwise yeah.

Has the game released an end-game yet?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

Firstly, let’s be honest here; Guild Wars 2 didn’t have kitten for the end-game upon release and for the first 1 to maybe 2 months or so. Seeing as I didn’t want to level in a game to where it’s all for nothing in the end, I decided to just go back to WoW. I also really didn’t enjoy the PvP that the game had to offer. It felt very repetitive and easy since you didn’t have to earn ANY of your gear. And the point of an MMO is to get epic loot and pwn some noobs right? (Come on, you used to talk like that back in 2003-2004, don’t lie x3) Well it just felt very…meh. Giving players gear just reduces the amount of gameplay, plus you don’t have to hit 80 to PvP, reducing even more gameplay since you don’t have to level if you don’t want to (Which can have its pros and cons).

But I digress. The game wasn’t too amazing other than the fun leveling, leaving out anything spectacular for the end-game. So as I said before, I left mainly just because the game felt unfinished in some aspects. You guys may have differing opinions, but I’m trying to state the facts (I’m not trying to be an kitten -can we say kitten ..? Eh…screw it) without being rude about it.

With that being said, I will move on to the main point of this thread: Has the game improved over-all? (PvP end-game, PvE end-game, etc etc.) I’m more of a PvPer and still am currently on World of Warcraft (2K swag). So has GW2’s PvP gotten any better? I see some fanboys saying its more developed than WoW’s, but let’s be honest…GW2 didn’t have much to offer PvP wise when it came out. But has any of that changed? What about PvE? Are the raids/dungeons or whatever more challenging?

I’m honestly getting really tired with WoW. I want to join a game where there’s just as good PvP if not better, same thing goes for PvE.

Please be honest with everything. I’d appreciate leaving out the biased opinions that just make GW2 have an aspect that makes it better than something WoW has. Give me facts, I’d really appreciate all of the responses and honesty.

Thanks in advance everyone.

So your case is pvp should be gear and level > skill?

So even if a player greatly outplays you, your “epic gear” will pwn this “noob”… lol… go back to wow..

World Completion Impossible Now?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

So with no more free transfers, and WvWvW a requirement to get World Completion (which still doesn’t make any sense), is it possible for worlds that are no good at WvWvW to accomplish World Completion?

To me personally, it seems this is an impossible feat now. You now have to rely on your world to dominate in WvWvW in order for you to get World Completion. If you are not top rank and dominating, you will never be able to access all the Points of Interests. I currently only have one part of Eternal Battlegrounds completed because it is the one spot we always start in. Even after the reset today, we are still in the same exact location. In order for me to get the other areas, we have to dominate the whole map (which is highly unlikely as from my observation, we are awful at this) or I am going to have to pay to transfer to a world that is dominating WvWvW.

So is this it? Am I stuck forever without being able to get World Completion because I am required to do WvWvW and we will never dominate for me to be able to get those areas discovered? Or is the plan all along for me to have to fork over more money so I can transfer to a winning world and then pay again to transfer back?

If you win you can easily get the pois, if you lose, you get rotated to another colour, STILL can do your other pois. win win.

I’ve done wvw complete on 4 of my characters now and my server is getting their kitten handed to them.

Question about Zoom Unlocker

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

Lafiel: Zoom unlocker does NOT make any changes to LOS. It will not, in any way, give a positioning advantage when shooting over walls. Also, the distance a foe can be detected from does not change either. The only advantage this mod gives in PVP and WvW is a better view of the battle field from the same angles already available to the person.

For example, If I was operating an arrow cart on the double gate of the north keep in EB, I could zoom out far enough to see invaders comming up the stairs from the water gate. Big deal. I will hear them pounding on the west gate 5 seconds after that anyways.

There are some very slight advantages but not nearly as big an advantage as a high end gaming rig has over a low end or mid range computer. Even now that culling is off, there is a huge descrepency in rendering time.

Two great players with optimal internet connections and the same gaming rig would not be effected at all by one of them using this mod. It doesn’t actually give an opposing player more ability, just slightly more usable information.

I never found the 1st person view useful for anything except getting a close up view of the detail on other toons armor, which I can/always could do by positioning my toon at the right angle. Being as this mod is an “unlocker” it must already be in the code. The 1st person view may be “locked” to prevent any pics being generated without the “copyrighted” toon in the middle of it.

The one advantage this mod does give is more noticable in PVE. One tactic I have not yet observed in WvW is 3-4 groups of 5 toons setting up an ambush point, each group from a different direction. In PVE this is part of quite a few AI’s tactics and their code has been writen to make use of your limited range of vision (also the reason foes don’t appear as red dots on your mini map like they did in GW1). Although I don’t like being jumped, I like the illusion of surprise I feel from being jumped. I never felt overly cautious in GW1. A creepy but good change.

I will likely use this mod just for doing some “screen shot” mapping (especially in Cursed Shores) but because I actually have to turn it on after I have started GW2, I am more likely to play without it until I need it. Don’t worry Lafiel… I am much too busy in WvW to take in the scenery.

In truth, I don’t know if this mod would give much of an advantage in PvP as I have no intention of exploring this part of the game. It may not change line of sight but being able to see the entire arena (like we all could in GW1) might really change a persons strategy.

It will definately change the feel of the game in WvW and PvE but not to the degree it would make you a better player than you already are.

Having said all this, all mods are a violation of the ToS. While Arenanet has a relaxed view on mods in the spirit of fun, it is at their descretion whether they ban an account using ANY mod. There are no “legal” mods.

I have seen screenshots and videos and know not this to be true in wvw. Besides, being able to see past a gate or how and where people are exactly on the top of the keep is already an advantage anyways. Regardless anyways, doesn’t change anything on Anet’s stand on this.

No it’s not, it uses the same format as it’s other phish type emails for other mmos like wow etc.

They probably would have banned you first to begin with rather than give you a warning before email if they found out you were trying to sell your account. Then you could proceed to submit a ticket to get it back etc.

Although the email noreply@guildwars2.com is indeed Anet’s legit system email, it is not hard to falsify the sender email these days.

The difference between Need and Want

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lafiel.9372

This is something that has been bothering me for a while… the comments that seem most often common on these forums when complaining about things.

“Dailies suck because they FORCE you to do these things!”
“Ascended items suck because you NEED to do this and this to get them!”
“Why are you adding the gear grind? Now I NEED to get the best armor!”
“More Ascended? I have eight characters, now I HAVE TO spend WEEKS equipping all of them again! Thanks for the laurels!”

NO YOU DO NOT.

You do NOT need. You WANT. These things are optional, and in a majority of cases, you can get them through other methods. Ascended items forced? Nope, they’re only a small percentage better than exotics. Not enough to really be THAT noticable. Dailies? Look over the things you can get for laurels, and you’ll see that a majority of them can be gotten in other ways, the few exceptions being the minipets and cat tonic. (And before you point out the tools and boosters, really, they’re practically equivalent to similar types.).

You people need to learn the difference between “Need/Forced” and “Want/given the option”

You are right, but at the same time, these are likely the same spoilt pepz who NEED ipads and iphones and the newest tech even though they’re only 12.

As for ascended trinkets atm compared to exotics. It’s about 1-3 % damage difference. So if you hit 1k you’ll hit 1,030? I’ll leave it to the people to decide whether it is significant or not

And then you get a free black lion key… Uh, yeah, simplistic solution is simplistic.

Make a human noble. Free key in ~10 minutes. Has already been brought up to and condoned by Arena Net.

It’s more than that, like certain race only items (cultural set) or items only gotten on character creation. Story locked items etc (vigil, order of whisper, priory. Right now these items can be transmuted from other characters BUT there has been mentioning that the possibility of that being reverted in the foreseeable future.

Really though, it takes 3 days to make a new 80. Save yourself the gems and do some lvl up

Lag IS something that can be addressed. STOP MAKING CONTENT AS THOUGH THERE IS NO LAG. Oceanic players have to contend with a minimum of 200ms as there are no local servers. This also applies to evasion mechanics.

Edit: This is a real head-in-the-sand response. Lag is a very real part of the environment that they are trying to market the game in. Making a product that ignores its market environment not real smart. To me the focus of the response above (1&2) is more about “don’t rock the system boat” than player enjoyment. They need to find an alternative for content tuning rather than purely reaction-time mechanics if they want to enhance the play experience for ALL their clients.

I live in NZ and I play fine hmm.

Talk about elitism

Lafiel.9372

Well since this group was obviously looking for fellow elitist like them, you shouldn’t have joined in the first place. But to be fair, what they mentioned is what I usually do when I run my mesmer for cof p1 farm. It’s fairly standard, casting feedback just before the turret hits, pulling mobs to the right turret, pulling slave driver into the war and casting TW immediately after, using signet of inspiration when you have 10+ might stacks or so the situation requires. You’re obviously a good player but not the elite they wanted. Just join another more party with more freedom. COF p1 is one of the few runs that people require the absolute perfection and to be honest, more than ever, it’s usually ALWAYS the warriors which slow the run down than anything a mesmer can do. If a warrior downs, it’s not the mesmers fault, it’s cause these zerker warriors don’t know how to use their dodge function appropriately (even if they think they do).

The worst elitist are the ones who THINK they are but really aren’t. There is no shame in being a little arrogant if you’re really that good but if you’re no good but you blame OTHERS for your death often, maybe you’re not so elite after all. Real elites can make even the worst party shine (given they at least follow or have some sort of communication e.g. k bro)

Thanks. I didn’t know those things (signet of inspiration and pulling mobs to the right turret). It’s odd that people (mostly warrior players) in these speed runs expect mesmer players to know that but then allow only 1 mesmer in the group and kick that one mesmer if they didn’t do things perfectly, without telling them exactly what they did wrong.

Well now you know Everyone has to learn somewhere. You just got a bad apple who wasn’t patient with you. I too learned how to run CoF the farm way with a farming group. They suggested what I should do in the methods I was lacking and I followed. That’s how it is suppose to be.

Lafiel.9372

Just sharing an experience I had. I have 3 level 80 toons, 2 of them are at FOTM scale 39+. I’ve also earned the Dungeon Master title and do daily random dungeon runs mostly with my guild but sometimes with a pug party. I’d like to think I’m not an elitist MOST of the time and in all my daily runs I’ve only ever initiated a kick once and it was not due to gear issues or “noob” behavior but simply because the player went afk at a crucial time (at the arm seals in a 30+ fractal) without any logical explanation.

So today I went with my fairly new but fully zerk-geared mesmer to my first COF p1 speed run with a pug group. I’ve done COF p1 countless times before, most of them with my guildmates. And yesterday I joined a “casual” speed farming pug group with my mesmer (had 1 ele and later 1 guard, not full zerk) that did well (did 1 run in an average of 15min). But the group I joined today was one of those elitist groups that wanted 4 zerk warriors and 1 zerk mesmer and demanded that we ping our gears. We finished 1 run in about 10min. I THOUGHT I did everything right including blink-porting them through the boulders (on my first try). Then after the run I got kicked. I asked two of them why. Only one of them was kind enough to reply and tell me what I should have done. He said I “didn’t pull the slave driver into the wall and didn’t time-warp fast enough”. Also I cast feedback late at the turrets (apparently they didn’t notice I cast Phantasmal warden before casting feedback). Other than that I did everything right, he said.

I am astonished at the level of elitism in the GW2 community now. And especially because from what I was told I only made minor errors that I could have easily changed. I’ve tolerated much worse mistakes from other players without raging or kicking. Wouldn’t it have been easier to tell me what I did wrong than risk getting a less experienced mesmer on the next run? Or is it really just easier to initiate a kick?

It’s sad because this is one of the things that is killing World of Warcraft. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7864486403

What would you do?

Personally, I’d:
- Buy all legendary weapons from TP.
- Fill my entire bank with crafting materials.
- Discover all the crafting recipes of the game.
- Discover the maximum amount of character slots.
- Buy all the expensive TP skins of the game.
- Buy all the cultural armor skins of the game.

Now you know what to do with your next million dollar!

Such small dreams with so much power. I would become the next super villain with it

Should I go for a Legendary?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lafiel.9372

My take on it:
I’m doing 5 clover gambles every time it’s the MF daily. That’s every 2-3 days, and in that time you salvage 5 ectos by merely logging in and checking the timer now and then. I’m currently at 21 clovers without putting a single copper towards these gambles. I’ll reach the 77 eventually, no need to rush.

In the meanwhile, I save up my money for the precursor. By the time I have my 77 clovers, I’ll sell out my collection tabs. Together with my cash, which I didn’t spend since release, I’ll be able to afford the precursor without blinking.

After that, it’s just go with the flow until I have the entire legendary.

Everyone will attest that clovers and precursor are the 2 most difficult parts of the legendary hunt. Starting with those will make your life a lot more pleasant.

Clovers are pretty easy, the t6 mats are a lot harder i reckon, especially with some of them at 30s each. That is more than ectos atm.

Still think it’s a very bizarre thing to have for pve achievements, but by the same token its complete lack of relevance means I don’t object to it either. If people like it, then so be it.
It’s just, however…odd

(I have no opinion on the pvp side of things as I don’t pvp)

Achievement points IS a good gauge of a players skill level, mainly because it means more time spent in the game = more time to hone your skills. My best experience with pugs is usually people who have at least 4-5k achievements. Having said that, I’m not saying people under that amount, people are always noobs/bad players but it is an excellent instant guage of a players skill level.

I’m not sure that is true. Apart from the easy grinds, a highly skilled player can be out achieved by someone with a lot of alts who has done all aspects of the story. If achievements were purely skileld based, then yes I’d agree totally, but most are grinds/luck/purchased – (emperor title for eg) based.

They don’t really bother me mind as they don’t interfere with the game atm. I just find them oddly irrelevant to the way the game works. If people like them, then fair play

I’m not saying every high achievement point person is an instant pro, but time spent has a cloe relation to skill in the game. (think of it as being more experienced, in a job if you’ve been working 10 yrs, you’ll be more experienced then someone on the job for only half a year?).

Of course, there are bad apples out there, some players don’t really learn as fast as other players. So even if he had higher ach points, another new player with a faster learning curve may still be better than him. Ultimately, it’s just a good “general” guage of player skill with just a simple glance.

Kholer is boring, not hard.

Kholer’s actually very hard for a lot of people who dont know how to dodge :>

You could have just said that this game is hard for those who don’t know how to dodge…

It’s very hard for people who don’t know how to use stability skills or reflect, or block if you have one.

On a separate note for this topic

Skipping mobs works perfectly for experienced GOOD players. Bad or newer players, it’s better/faster to kill the mobs. So next time you run a dungeon, and you’re the one whose dead while skipping the mobs, you know what category you belong to so don’t join the experience groups (or hope you get carried by one) and keep practicing with the noob friendly ones until you level up (when I say level up, I don’t mean your character, but your skill level)

Lafiel.9372

Okay, so I played the game quite a bit for the first couple of months after it’s release, lost interest at around level 63 or so, and stopped playing. Just a few nights ago, I decided to come back and play again. When I went to log in to start the download, I found that my account had been hacked, and had to go through the process of having it returned.

Upon getting my account back, I found that my main character (Warrior) was no longer level 63, but level 80. Not only was I 80, but I had a full level-80 green set, with a yellow weapon. I also had around 500 Heavy Moldy Bags in my inventory, and was in the middle of Cursed Shore.

The downside to this, was that my character was completely stripped of all previous property and gold. All I had was the green set and those 500ish Moldy Bags. It kinda worked out in the end, as I opened all of the bags and sold all of the contents to get some gold back.

Should I put in a ticket to see if I could get all of my previous property back?

If you had less gold then before then don’t bother. It isn’t illegal to not ask for a account restoration I believe. Though technically, the gold earned from those bags aren’t yours so i’m not sure as well. But ye, account restorations can only be offered ONCE per the account lifetime, so use it carefully.

Change to Guild Vault Transport intolerable

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lafiel.9372

Apparently it was because people were using it to deposit baubles while in the super adventure box and thereby bypassing the bag upgrade system and 500 bauble limit without ever needing to leave to use a city bank (Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s the rumour I heard).

Bauble Limit. Now this makes sense. And even more infuriating if this idiotic nostalgia “temporary” april fools crap is the reason.

If that is so, then i fully expect the guild bank access upgrade be returned to what it was before after SAB is removed in May. Or to make the vault inaccessible from SAB.
The best way to fix exploits is to fix exploits, not to change the game around them.

Baubles are account bound, you can’t put acc bound stuff in guild bank.

Why Exactly are Legendaries Soulbound ?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lafiel.9372

Lafiel.9372

Again, a strange argument here. Because of the rarity to obtain and item, one has the reasoning that it should be account bound? So why stop there? Exotics are rare, but they become soulbound on equip, why does no one complain about that? Needless to say, I would think this is more of a player issue (not thought about it enough and which character they wanted it to be on) then a game issue.
