sorry, wrong wording. I meant: why are there no events in big cities, like there are in Ebonhawke? DR, BC, Grove,… all silent.

Ah, yeah probably simply for the ‘safety’ feeling, presented previously.

My question (finally came up with one haha)

Why aren’t there more non-skirt options among the armor sets? There seem to be a lot of skirts/trenchcoats across all 3 armor tiers, but few simple “pant” outfits.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

next question:

dear dev
Why are there no dynamic events in the big cities like in Ebonhawke? I love that gem of a city.

There are actually events within the ebonhawk fortress. I’ve done one or two… wiki actually lists 4…

In regards to dynamic events within the actual capitol cities themselves… I’ve not a clue, and even putting myself into a devs shoes, I can’t think of a reason why there aren’t, well…maybe 1.

Cities are “safe zones” in that you can feel safe knowing a band of foes isn’t going to roam through and kill you if you go afk. One could assume that you could potentially have small events like “stop the purse thief” or “save ‘x’ from being mugged” however, these would sort of kill the “safe” feeling we’re supposed to have.

Why do we even have stacks??

LanfearShadowflame.3189

Storage has always been something people have griped about, all the way back in GW1. We were limited to stacks of 250 mats there as well, and we had to pay to get our initial storage pane, and then pay again to get the crafting tab. It wasn’t until much later in the game’s life that we were even offered the option of purchasing/earning additional storage panes. There’s a reason “mules” exist. No matter how much storage they give us, it will never be enough.

Beyond that, like armor here…there were more than a few armor in GW1 that required more than the 250 a stack could hold, for the set. Elite armors usually needed 350 – 400 of the main material…usually cloth…it’s nothing new…

I’ve played GW1 since the birth of Factions, and have played GW2 since beta. While I enjoy the game, it does have it’s flaws. Nothing game breaking for me, but things that I hope with time will become better. Similarly to how GW1 grew over the years, I expect to see much the same with GW2, and unless they completely stick their head up their kitten, I’ll be here every step of the way to offer both my congratulations, and my criticism. ^.^

The Holy Trinity... is missed.

The only thing I miss from the trinity, is the pure heal aspect of it. Coming through a tight spot with all of my teammates intact because I was able to keep their butts alive. Its a wonderful feeling, especially if you get the “holy kitten, no one died” at the end. chuckle

Still, I do not miss standing around waiting for a tank, or a healer. Getting yelled at when someone dies because they were being stupid. The “hey can you play this instead” when I’m obviously not on that character, if I wanted to play that role, then I’d be on that character! Just to name a few.

Conclusion: there a heck of a lot more things that I don’t miss, and would prefer not to have to deal with vs that I do miss. As such, I’m content without having the trinity in GW2. This is not to say that I don’t desire to see more emphasis on needing support roles vs dps roles in the general play. I’ve still got my fingers crossed that they’ll be able to revamp, and spice up the game play so that simply rolling all DPS won’t be sufficient to make it through some of the harder stuff.

Ok when my wife asks me what I want for dinner, I say “steak” and she gives me steak. When I complain about getting steak, according to your logic, she’s the one to blame because ultimately, I only gave her words, she had the choice to give me steak or not.

I’ll run that by her, see what she thinks…

A companies problems never have to do with their customers. That is, customers can’t logically be the source of a companies problems, not if you understand the nature of the relationship within the context of doing business.

Any attempt to move the locus of responsibility for problems from company to customer is an attempt at deflection and defense of the company—obviously. In removing the responsibility for issues from the company you also remove the possibility for correcting problems. You are illogically giving customers the power to destroy a company willy-nilly. That, of course, is absurd.

If you want to see the situation improve you need to first understand who has the power to make relevant changes—it is not the customers of a company.

Not true. Companies have both internal and external issues. External issues could very much be caused by the customers. So saying that a company’s problems never have to do with their customers is false.

Now, as I was simply discussing why they have simply stopped responding to us…. if someone never stopped kittening at you, would you respond to them? Wasting your time, energy, breath? You might at first, but eventually you’re simply going to roll your eyes and walk away.

I don’t get why their afraid to post on the boards. It just makes them look like they don’t care.

Have you ever had to deal with someone, of a group of someones, that no matter what you did they never had a good thing to say?

No matter how you responded to them, they cut you down and made you feel like you were less than the dirt they walked on?

That you simply were a waste of life?

It hurts. Its demoralizing. And its tremendously bad for motivating creativity.

While the people at anet may not feel the hurt to perhaps the extreme I gave as an example, they are still feeling it. Look at the recent comment from Josh Foreman…he’s “learned his lesson”? Won’t bother wasting his effort in the future? Such comment do not bode well for the game, not when they come from such talented, and well loved designers.

If it were you, and the people you were trying to please, made you feel like absolute kitten, would you want to respond to them? When having done so previously was as about as effective as shoving your heart in a blender? I wouldn’t.

Still, I’m just going to go with… a lot. Most of it going to waypoints, since I find now that I have a grasp on the game play, I don’t repair anywhere near as much as I did in the first few weeks on my first char. What is the deal with Ascended gear?

I still say we just need to have patience.

I understand where you are coming from. But it’s been almost a year since they told us all the stats would be coming out “soon”

I’m just looking for clarification. So we can at least plan my character. Even if the answer is they dont care and will now ever put these stats on ascended because they just dont feel like it, is better than limbo.

Maybe they will clarify, maybe they won’t. Since the forums have gone downhill of late, they have stopped responding. And who can blame them.

Still, yes, they said ‘soon’ but I take that with a (large) helping of salt. As with all things programming, ‘soon’ could be the intent but something happens and ‘soon’ becomes 6 months, a year, two years out. Hell, the code base I work on is 10+ years old and still has items on its ‘to do’ list that the original developers said they would have out in the first year. Kitten happens (more often than not with development from my experience).

But its because of things like that, that Anet has stopped quantifying ‘how long’ for us anymore. Because when they do say something like ‘soon’ and something comes up and they miss that imaginary deadline the fans arbitrarily set for them, kitten hits the fan. It’s gone so far that they no longer even sharing what they are working on until its basically ready to be dropped in our laps. Hell, they tried (sort of) to tell us that they were making a LFG tool…just to let us know what they were doing, but didn’t tell us when it would be done, and people went ballistic. “Why didnt we launch with it? Why wont you tell us when it’ll be done. Oh, they aren’t working on one, they just said it to shut us up” etc. etc. They’ve probably come to the conclusion its just safer to not say a darn thing to us until it’s ready, and if we don’t like it, well too kitten bad for us.

It’s sad really, but I can’t really blame them…

No, I’m not griping at you. I’m just grumpy about the overall attitudes on the forums. My advice would be just to play your character with what’s available, and if the other options eventually come out, then adjust if you feel like it.

Level to about 60 and then start doing the personal story. You can pretty much go non-stop from there to the end.

This is what my husband and I have been doing. We do some crafting, some map completion, etkittenil we get between 55 and 60, then we just start going through the story. It’s more enjoyable to us if it’s not broken up so much by the leveling process. Probably because it takes us a while due to the short hours of play on weeknights. Being able to go from story mission to story mission makes it flow better, and makes the storytelling better (at least for us). Its also a pretty decent way to finish leveling the character to 80 in a hurry. =)

IMO, fractals were added to appease the wow-grind type players, the ones that simply want to do the same thing over and over (and over) again trying to achieve a specific item, but that item has the tiniest chance of dropping, ever. A very distinct carrot/stick mentality. It’s not my play style. I’ve done a few low level ones to experience them, but that’s all I desired from it.
.

You are totally wrong

Players who plays fractal does it for PURE FUN.
0 Reward most of high level fotm players already have all fotm skins….they play fotm anyway.

A fotm player is poor because he likes to play an unrewarding content.

I did express that it was my opinion as to why it was instated.

Perhaps you and yours play it for fun, and are poor because it doesn’t reward you. I can’t say that I understand how you can repeatedly do the same…what 10 or so missions?….repetitively and not find it boring, or grindy, but to each their own. However, from my experience, the people playing it are not doing it for fun. Far from it.

Yes, I have heard the gripe that higher levels aren’t as rewarding, and have seen many a call for the revamp of the loot for the higher levels. I’ve not done them, I have no opinion on the matter.

We’ll see how the vertical progression goes. I wasn’t happy about ascended, however I’d made my peace that it was coming months ago. We’ve been giving some “reassurance” that this will be the last tier of gear, although not necessarily of power creep. Admittedly, I am not happy with this, I do not want a “shallow power curve” or however it was put, I want the power plateau we were told to expect. However, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, for now, and ride it out. Ascended doesn’t seem that hard to get right now. Just requires some patience, which I can manage as not having it doesn’t bar me from any of my game play.

Locking the weapons (and the armor) to crafting doesn’t bother me (much) personally, since I was planning on doing at least all of the crafting professions at least once. It’s annoying that it’s account bound upon acquire, since for the time being my husband and I share the crafting, but this simply gives me incentive to level mine now. Something I had been procrastinating on.

So, to the general question do I play as much? Yeah, I still play quite a bit. Actually, I’ve been logging in more now since my husband is playing again. Who knows what the future brings though…

Bravo Saviour, Bravo. You have my heartfelt thanks for your post, something I wanted to do after much of the crap I read on here yesterday, but couldn’t find the words for. Of course, had I written anything even remotely similar, I’d have simply been written off as just another fangurl spewing her blindness.. go figure. Still, again thank you.

We need more voices on here that are reasonable, that are positive. More that are willing to take a deep breath and offer constructive criticism, rather than just raging. While even constructive criticism can sometimes be hard to take, its not anywhere near as demoralizing as all the hate and venom that’s being blasted at the devs. For which, I feel terrible, because I know I’m not innocent. There have been days where I have been less than rational on here.

To Anet, since I’m sure someone will at least gloss over this, even if no one responds (and I’m ok with that), many thanks from both me and my husband. We love this game, and have been enjoying the living story updates as a nice distraction when we need to take a break from leveling our numerous characters. We look forward to the next installment of it. =)

To Josh, while SAB is not my favorite content (not jumptastically inclined here), I did try World 1 this time around. I haven’t gotten through zone 2, but I made it through zone 1 in the normal mode, and that’s a huge achievement for me. I enjoy the nostalgia it triggers, for the original NES system, and I find myself smiling every time I die because I did something stupid. Takes me back to my Mario days…I sucked at that too, haha. So, while I can’t beat it, thank you for it anyway. Don’t let the acidic personalities on here bring you down with their ignorance, and intolerance. Your love of your work shows in what you give us and many voiceless players love it. This is proven simply by the fact that the thing is packed with players every time I zone in to give it another try…

Real underlying problem of GW2

Every post from Jonathan and other devs almost seem like a cry of frustration to me. They’ve got great visions. They’ve got the means, the plans, yet not enough man power. It’s been a year and yes, there have been significant changes but none of it enough. And now the only expansion of the team that’s been publicly announced had been that a communications position was filled to chat it up with players on forum, and that there’s a team working to expand to china. That’s it. Shame on you, the management team and the board of directors or whoever you are who ran this business to ground.

There is frustration there. But it’s not due to lack of man power, or lack of talent. Although Anti has a point – more bodies does not mean more productive necessarily. There is a reason most development teams are small, many but small.

I feel the frustration is more with their player base. Something I’ve called out several times, so I won’t go into a ton of detail here. However, they have things they want to do, goals they want to achieve….and they’ve told us that, but we don’t want to give them any slack. We holler, and shout, and tear down everything they try to give us (Vol posted a recent comment from the SAB dev in another thread, as an example). We are ripping them down, and they are losing the desire to make us something wonderful. Not that I can blame them. I’d lose interest too, if I was building a game and my player base crapped all over it every time I tried to give them something they wanted.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

What is the deal with Ascended gear?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LanfearShadowflame.3189

LanfearShadowflame.3189

I think Waldo has a point. Ascended, although potentially initially designed…then scrapped…and now introduced because their crystal ball was wrong, is coming in late. Being introduced slowly to an already established system. It will take a lot of work to design, balance, and implement the additional tier. Even after they finish releasing everything, which as I said will take time, it may still require tweaks and adjusting. The other stat sets are likely coming. Look how long it took them to implement the latest piece of gear…and that’s only weapons. Give them time and have some patience is all.

I didn’t post this to get down on the devs at all, and trust me I know how long it can take to create gear.

But we are not talking about creating new gear here, or a new way of obtaining that gear, there are no balance issues since these stats already exist and have been balanced. They already figured the balance of stats for the weapons, amulets or the accessories last November, proof being that the weapons were (unintentionally) released back then with the current stats on them. They were not spending time making the stats, they had them already. What was new, was a form of obtaining the different gear as each set came out. Accessories were not newly balanced, The guild missions were what took time in that release. Daily quests and laurels for Amulets, and 500 crafting for weapons.

I cant help but feel the unique names and flavor text on the Ascended items are what’s keeping those missing 131 combinations away. It was cool at first because ascended were special, new, and powerful… now they are just the next set after exotic. And Anet finds themselves in a hard spot I feel. They would (to keep the items in line with the others) have to come up with 917 different unique names and flavor text just for trinkets! (3 amulets, 2 rings, 2 accessories for each combo.) That is a lot! I get it. but I’m looking for some answer from the devs even if it’s just “Hey we just cant come up with 900 names bro. Our brains hurt.” or anything really. We are in the dark here.

At least then we know what is going on. At least then we can say Hey we don’t care about that. Name them “Berserker/Emerald” if you have to just get them in the game. You can add flavor text later.

Just because they had the weapons done doesn’t mean they had everything done. Maybe, but I’m not even going to speculate either way. Perhaps the unique naming is part of the issue. We can’t really know. I still say we just need to have patience.

They have a lot on their plates with what they are trying to do, and since we’ve (the community as a whole) turned trying to talk to us a nightmare for them, they aren’t going to come forward and bother trying to clarify anything. All they’d get in return is bile, brimstone, and plain hate.

People blame Anet for not being transparent and being open with the community.

Well, what’s the benefit of that when the community responds to innocent and neutral comments with snide and rude remarks? What’s the benefit when any type of positive, hopeful remark is not met with excitement, but suspicion, hesitation and sometimes indifference.

I’m very surprised a guy like Colin just seems like he’s made of unicorns and lollipops. The guy is impervious to criticism and hard to troll (as many people here attempt to), and I respect him for it. But other folks aren’t as much and you can almost see the cracks in their attempts at maintaining a professional and neutral face. It doesn’t surprise me how some Anet devs have not even bothered posting on the forums (like Whiteside), probably because they know just how bad it is here.

/Agreed

They aren’t going to waste their time when they get only (or mostly) bile in return. Its not worth the effort, or the stress.

I absolutely loath dailies in any game.

They really need to let you stack up to 7/7 dailies so you can skip some then knock them all out at once, Rift does that with most dailies and it’s fantastic, no pressure of “I NEED TO LOG IN BEFORE 5 PM kitten IT”.

GW1 did that up to 3 days. Obviously since GW1 was an epic fail (that’s what I get from some posters around), they couldn’t copy anything from that or it would taint GW2 :o

The GW1 “dailies” were specific tasks like “Do mission x” or “kill mob x”. You can’t compare those 2 systems.

And the GW2 dailies aren’t specific tasks? “Gather 20 times” “Kill 50 mobs” “Complete ‘x’ events in ‘x’ area” These things aren’t specific tasks?

The main difference I see between them is time involved. You can complete all 5 daily ‘tasks’ in GW2 in about the same time it would take you to complete some of the individual GW1 daily ‘tasks.’ We still had 3-4 tasks a day though….

I can kill those 50 mobs wherever I want, I don’t need to enter a specific map and go to a specific point to kill a specific mob. That’s the difference.

Unless it specifies….ie Ascalonian killer…Shiverpeaks killer…

Again, same thing. They are all tasks, nothing more.

“Hm. Let me specify, lest I be accused of whining. I meant all the EXTRA hours I poured in was wasted. I just put in too much stuff. I’m not crying here. I’m learning a lesson.”

This is absolutely awful! I feel terribly for him. No one should be made to feel this way when they pour their heart and soul into something. And people wonder why we’ve stopped getting feedback of any kind on here. The forum community is simply toxic! At this rate, I may as well go back to WoW, because that’s what GW2 is slowly turning into….another WoW clone. Just with better scenery and graphics.

Many of you will argue and that’s fine, but as a GW1 vet, taking a step back and looking at all the “mmo features” that were added to make gw2 “more of a mmo” just makes it more like WoW…the original mmo, by which every other mmo is ever measured. It steps further and further away from GW1, further backward in its uniqueness. It is disheartening to say the least.

Most of memories from WoW revolve around ‘well maybe I’ll get that piece this run’ and nothing is coming to mind for Tera or SWtoR. I thought Perfect World was pretty, but it just didn’t click for me, I don’t even remember why now.

Still….

I remember my very first log in during the beta weekends, and my jaw just dropped at the picturesque world around me…

The first time I saw Shadow Behemoth for myself… definitely an ‘oh kitten’ moment

The first time I stood a top the ruined remains of where The Great North Wall took place, my eyes got all teary…

Finding the Underworld entrance in Lornar’s Pass, still tucked away in it’s corner….

I wonder if part of the issue might be due to their launch set up for China. This would likely require some infrastructure change, and while it may not be enough to require full shut downs, the work might be interfering with our game play. Its not uncommon really.

Anytime any business upgrades or adds equipment, they try to do it without shutting down what’s in use, so as not to impact users. My husband’s employer is in the process of upgrading their server and switches, and they have a similar ‘lag’ issue on their network. Just a thought…

Just to randomly toss my 2 cents in here….

You can also check tigerdirect.com for components, they are comparable to newegg usually, and you can sometimes get some decent bare bones kits on sale, which might feature higher grade components while still being within your budget.

My husband just upgraded his case, mobo, processor, and ram for about 650$ (Asus Intel Z87-Plus, Intel Core i5-4670, and 16GB ddr3 ram, full tower case, so not too bad).

Never hurts to keep your options open, and price shop a bit.

Scaling to Party Leader's level

I don’t think it’s wise at this point in time because they don’t have the scaling system worked out quite yet. They still need work on the downscaling, and upscaling for LS stuff still makes you drastically sub par.

Beyond that, with up-scaling for general play, you get into farming issues, power leveling, more people simply skipping over the mid-tier play in addition to being able to completely skip starter play further killing the maps.

I don’t think the general idea is bad; my concern is with the abuse it could potentially lead to. And lets face it, generally speaking, if it can be exploited, the players do it unmercifully.

I still work on achievements, but like dailies and monthlies, I don’t let them drive my play. They are a set of goals that I can work on when I feel like, and ignore the rest of the time. It makes everything much less stressful, and the overall play more enjoyable.

Been this way since basically beta for achievements. Dailies, I never had any issue doing before their “update” because I simply got them by playing like normal. After the “update” I started simply ignoring them for the most part, because I knew if I didn’t, I would feel like I was doing chores, and that would ruin my fun.

I posted this in another thread, but I’ll stick it here as well.

As with all static content, eventually people will get bored of doing this boss. They don’t desire the loot, its not good enough anymore, they’ve simply done it too many times and its boring, what have you. Its an issue that static content across all MMO’s has.

So what happens in 6 month, a year, whatever, when the new players want to experience this but cant round up the necessary 80+ people level 65+? I’m sure anet is going to revamp these bosses repeatedly to keep people coming back to them. Are we just supposed to tell those players “oh well”?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to the changes. I’ve been among those saying the world boss fights should be more than what they currently are. I’m just not keep on ‘dead content’

Using the suggestion of adding a symbol or something, in the case of a duplicate name singles a player out. It calls attention to the fact that they are guesting, or that they transferred. It’s also like saying “haha you couldn’t come up with something your own, you had to copy ‘x’ other person”

I think most people like feeling unique. I know I do.

Uhhhh what? How would adding a last name be any different from having a Symbol or Initial (initial for the server your from) in your name, placed there by the game itself, to tell people which server you are from?

You get to choose your last name. You can pick your server, but there is limited selection. What if your friends play on a server where you don’t like the symbol?

Oh wait I know, make a post like this one complaining about something that isn’t a problem.

Come up with a last name and be done with it. there are plenty of threads on the forum for ideas on how to create an inventive, unique name.

Even with the symbol or initial placed there by the game you can still add in a last name if you wanted to.

But then it’s not your name anymore. If I wanted the game to pick my name for me, or adjust it as it saw fit, I’d just go use a random generator rather than bothering to come up with one in the first place (or play a game that did that by default).

Here’s my take on this….

If the game is all about the shinies for you (and it is for some people, I accept that), and you just aren’t feeling the rewards, then perhaps you need a break. Sure, we could tell you to go do invasions, to do the world bosses, to jump on the champ trains. Those will all give the shinies, and probably decent chunks of gold depending on you dedication, but you could be bored with it, rng could simply hate you, or its just not your thing.

On the other hand, if its not ‘just’ about the loot, and you just need to reorient and ‘find’ yourself, then perhaps taking a step back, a deep breath, and assessing what you’re looking for in a game might help you decide. Look at the things you typically like in a game, then look at what GW2 offers. Determine what you’d like to be doing with your time, and then kitten how that coincides with GW2’s options. You said you like to role play, have you tried joining a role play guild, for example?

There are a lot of options out there for things to do; however, not all things are for all people. Some people enjoy just repeatedly running dungeons, others like to explore every nook and cranny of the open world, others like to farm relentlessly. None of it is wrong, but only you can decide what you like and what you want to do. You need to find something to motivate you to play, and enjoy that play. External motivation, which is what you’re asking for, is the worst kind because it really has no meaning for you, because someone else made the decision.

It’s not too much of a problem when you can have more than one name.
If we could only have one name then it would definitely be a problem.

Knowing that I am the only one with my names…. sweet.

Haha, oh yeah. That’s partly why there was such a huge rush to reserve names at the beginning.

I like and prefer this personally. I know that my name choice, or combination of choices is unique. No one else will have its exact replica. I like not having to worry about ‘running into myself’ if I transfer or guest.

Whenever I hear there's no endgame...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

LanfearShadowflame.3189

“Endgame” is a perspective, nothing more. We each perceive “endgame” to be a different “thing” because we’re all different, and have different things we desire to do. For some people its raiding, for others is dungeoning, for yet others it’s the gear progression to ‘get better.’ For some people, it’s simply going out and farming for 6 hours.

Other MMO’s have trained us to accept a specific ‘perception’ as the ‘established and acceptable’ endgame, which Anet clearly chose not to follow. Which is fine, one game cannot be all things to all people.

The new Tequatl O____O

LanfearShadowflame.3189

So, while I am excited to see the Tequatl revamps, I have a concern. Not to be a downer, but how long before people just aren’t doing this content again. Either the rewards are no longer good enough, or he’s “boring,” etc, etc. At which point newer players are no longer able to experience this boss because they can’t round up the minimum 80 lvl 65+ people.

This is an issue that exists with all static content across the MMO genre (not that I think these changes should be temp, just for clarification, that’s not what I’m saying at all). Just concerned that we will end up with these issues all over again….and if there are any thoughts on how to maybe prevent it. Because I highly doubt they are going to revamp these world bosses every year or so, so people keep doing them.

The only reasons I didn’t choose Charr:

~Didn’t resonate with me right away
~Preferred to ‘learn’ the classes on a race I was comfortable with
~Haven’t found any armor I particularly like

That said, I do plan on buying at least 1 char slot for a Char character. Potentially more, depending on how interesting their individual story arcs are.

At the end of Clockwork, if you finished the dungeon…you ‘defeat’ her and she runs away. We don’t know where she’s gone, or where her lair is. So it’s not like we can just go chasing after her…. Of course, after running around trying to stem those invasions every hour for 2 weeks, I’m sure even the most stalwart hero needs a breather…

I hope they all get some interesting upgrades. Additional mechanics, additional difficulty requirements. Each should be unique, and present it’s own challenges. Otherwise they aren’t ‘memorable’ or fun.

I don’t think that will all happen in this update, although since they mention they’re all getting updated it will be interesting to see just what they do. Still, not thinking it’ll be as drastic as Tequatl’s change for the rest, not right away; hopefully with time though.

So I have to ask....

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

What I do after 80:
~Help people / guildies
~Level crafting (building at least one on each character, cause I felt like it)
~Level alts
~Hunt skins
~Goof off in dungeons
~Bait the troll in LA (remember to bring popcorn!)
~Map completion (still aint got that done on any char, I’m lazy)
~Play the bi-weekly LS when I feel like it
~Annoy the heck out of people in WvW (I so miss the original GW1 mesmer for this)
~Occasionally jump into a hot join pvp (days I feel masochistic, only logical explanation)
~Attempt jumping puzzles (just to kitten myself off with how badly I suck at them)

What I’d like to see eventually:
~Elite areas – requires more then 5 players, requires strategy, skill, and more than just DPS

~GvG – I don’t play it myself, but I did enjoy watching it. Although Colin mentioned this is something they’re still looking into, so here’s to hoping.

~JQ or FA type pvp – smaller scale siege / defend while gathering ‘x’ resource type play

~RA/TA type pvp – ie, elimination mode. “Annihilate the opposing team”

~Skill hunting/questing

I think they just need more time to work out all the kinks, and water combat has a lot of … (hate this filter) kinks. However, they simply can’t do everything at once. Not enough man power (no matter what job you’re in, this is always an issue it seems), not enough hours in the day.

do you want ascended gear to swap stats?

in Suggestions

Posted by: LanfearShadowflame.3189

LanfearShadowflame.3189

I think giving this functionality to ascended items would be a nice addition, and it would help alleviate some of the hard feelings about anet killing build variety.

As someone else pointed out though, this could cause some issues with crafting since people would only ever craft 1 with the cheapest mats. My suggestion for that, would be to require some sort of ‘unlock’ system for the stats, which would still require the crafting. Maybe not a whole weapon though. You could only swap to stats you have ‘unlocked,’ similarly to how we could only swap to secondary professions we knew in gw1, and we had to learn/unlock those secondaries before we could use them (much more of a trial in the earlier games than at the end, but same general concept).
