Really guys? We’re going to give the OP a hard time because there is an obvious exploit to a game system and he took the time to report it? Even if there are larger issues in WvW at the moment (which we all know there are), there is NO reason to jump on the OP. It’s not as if the bug is his fault, and he is absolutely justified in saying something needs to be done about it.

@OP This does need to be fixed. There is a similar bug with WxP being denied every time an Elementalist uses Mist Form in downed state that’s been around since WxP was implemented. Hopefully they’re keeping a list of all these ‘minor’ bugs and are working through them.

What about Warrior and Thieves just running away when they are losing? They deny me fair points and loot. I was winning, but since neither of these professions can be caught if they dont want to, they just run away and deny me points. And Warriors can also Vengeance to deny points, Elementalists can run into towers/keeps or water to deny points.

I insist i get my loot and points when the person im fighting runs away and leaves combat! If you want to take away some people’s ability to deny points when losing a fight, then take away everyones ability to deny points when losing a fight.

there’s one HUGE difference between my point and yours,
in mine I actually did kill my target !

This had been suggested before for a similar reason and they didn’t do it so not expectingit nnow. As for the spiking. Not sure about lower tierz but in the upper tiers spiking is a good chunks of a teams totally point so yes it does make a difference in the matchup

If I was playing in a low tier server I wouldn’t bother bringing this up at all but….
in top tier matches sometimes the winner is decided by less than 100 points, this makes it a very important issue for top tier servers imho.

in top tier matches a small bloodlust management team can easily rack up a hell of a lot more than 100 points in a very short amount of time.

tbh I don’t care how they do it, as long as they come up with a fix to it asap.

if not a logout timer, than anything but do something about it, this is by no means an isolated 1-2 points issue it is happening more and more as people figure it out, and these points rack up quickly losing 15 stomps in this exploitative manner means losing as many as anywhere from 15-45 points, considering that objectives only give a fixed point amount per 15 minutes this becomes a big loss of points in a very short amount of time, 15 stomps happen in a matter of 3-5 minutes.

if it was something that happens once I wouldn’t worry about it, losing 1-3 points here and there is nothing but, when you see it happening 10-15 times per hour in top tier servers you know something is up, and something has to be done about it !

Alt-F4 counts as a kill for the player in terms of WXP and loot … why wouldn’t it also count for points?

duh, thats why it needs to be fixed !
it does count the kill and xp and all but if he alt+f4 you do not get the stomp and so you do not get the points.

OP, are you seriously complaining about something that will diminish your score by exactly 3 Points? Who gives a rats kitten…
I also have a hard time understanding why anyone would even bother all the trouble of alt-f4ing, logging back in etc just for 3 points, (at most). He would be better off using the time to kill a yak and get triple the points, but I guess people are just dumb.

lol, I had to laugh 1st, mere 3 points you say ?
with 3 stacks of bloodlust it’s 3 points per stomped player, in comparison…

a camp gives 5 points per 15 minutes.
if you stomp 2 players you already have 6 points instantly.
this is the reason they alt+f4, the points add up quick
you can come from behind and beat a server if you manage your bloodlust properly
and get stomping.

I have not been playing WvW for long even though I’ve played the game since BWE1
but……

This crap that is going on right now is annoying as hell and something needs to be done about it by the dev’s.

what I’m talking about is the follwing:

With bloodlust, every stomp grants 1 world point per stack of bloodlust, the problem right now is people are using alt+f4 to quit the game in the middle of the stomp and in so doing negate the stomp and deny / rob you of your points !

There is such a simple solution to this, I cannot for the love of me figure out how the dev’s missed it.

add a logout timer to WvW only, say 30 seconds timer from the moment you press logout, alt+f4 or quit the game by any other means while in WvW

this would ensure that if you lost the fight and you’re getting stomped even if you quit the game I get my points because your toon is still there for me to stomp for the next 30 seconds

why 30 seconds and not 15 you say ?
simple, some people will go to any length to try and circumvent the systems in place, some will start the logout process before going down in a fight they know they will lose, if this is done and it’s only 15 seconds by the time he goes down the timer will be at 2 seconds a standard stomp takes 3 seconds, you see my point ? this logout preloading would be a lot harder to do if the timer is 30 seconds.

This is a good idea but needs to be introduced slightly different, I’d say once you acquire dungeon master title, this idea should be a perk of the title to make it more valuable to go after.

Another way is to just leave bosses as they are but to introduce heavy need to CC for other parts of dungeons etc, so a party NEEDs to be CC built to complete some dungeons.

with your idea CC becomes a requirement, just like healers were in trinity based games.

the point is to make it viable NOT required !

Didn’t even bother reading the rest of the OP, it’s just going over something we all know is flawed already, just like condition caps and condition damage not scaling to be on par with direct damage in PvE.

notice how you picked on the to builds that are NOT full zerker builds !
that is what is wrong right now, I myself love playing zerker on my warrior but….

build diversity is important, not everyone likes to deal damage or have to play twitch response, both of which are a requirement to playing full zerker builds to survive.

I’m not exactly sure what the point of Defiant is, either.

I guess Arena.net feels that if a zerg can simply stun/daze a legendary or champion mob to death that it would be too easy. Personally, if a zerg can coordinate their interrupts and CC that well to render such a mob impotent… more power to ’em.

that’s what I mean in BETA before defiant bosses were stun locked for the whole fight, that is obviously not good, but negating 99% of CC is also equally as bad nobody plays a CC spec, whenever bosses are involved at all.

they have some systems that could be modified to replace defiant already look at tequatl scale armor, or the new TA path end boss shield mechanic those are clever ways to go about it, but they still have defiant as well.

like I said in OP, a swtor style resolve system could do wonders for PVE build diversity.

every class has a strong point, I can understand building any class to full beserker only if you have the one character, but in reality if you have several professions to 80 I see no reason to build for example a sub optimal dps guardian or a healing spec thief those just don’t make sense at all, they may look viable but they under perform heavily when compared to other classes which have an emphasis on what you’re trying to build.

my toons for example, I always center the build around the particular class strength.

PVE only builds:

-guardian: full support AH build.
- warrior: full zerker DPS.
- elementalist: D/D DPS/support hybrid.
- Thief: full zerker Burst DPS.
- engineer: cond dmg / support hybrid.
- mesmer: full zerker Burst DPS / utility build.

in PVE building tank / CC character specs just doesn’t work because of defiant, which is what is primarily wrong with PVE mechanics and limiting build variety.

Look at WvW and sPVP, that’s the only place where actually building a balanced character is both desirable and rewarding.

you gotta have enough armor, you gotta have enough DPS to apply pressure and you need sustain, balancing these 3 alone takes some time and class knowledge, and I haven’t even touched on CC yet.

WHAT IS REALLY WRONG WITH PVE IS DEFIANT, IT IS A FLAWED SYSTEM

if you think about it, the rushed implementation of the flawed defiant system is what is dragging this great game down

SOLUTION TO DEFIANT

_defiant should be reversed in how it works, instead of negating all CC from the start it needs to build up resistance to CC as the boss is CC’d, and it should decay if the boss is not being CC’d, a system like this would allow for planned CC chains at particular points in the fight while making it impossible to keep the boss chained CC’d permanently, thus making control specs desirable again.

It’s so easy even SWTOR could do it, if you haven’t noticed I just described swtor PVP resolve system in a nutshell here, sure their resolve system wasn’t perfect but it was a great idea, let’s see you do better anet_

when your food buffs run out, if you noticed that it’s gone that is.
specially in WvW it is a hassle to get them back on in the middle of a fight, most of the time it will get you killed trying to get them back up.

so,

How about adding 2 slots to the hero panel, 1 for utility buff and 1 for nourishment buff, both of which can be assigned a keybind of your choice, now when your buffs run out all you’d have to do is hit the corresponding keybind.

you’d basically just drag say a stack of your favorite food to the corresponding slot and away you go to fight the villains again.

Sick ‘Em will now apply ‘Revealed” to enemies they target. We want to introduce some counter play to Stealth (players have asked for that for a while), so we thought a pet “catching your scent” might be a cool way to insinuate some anti-stealth into the game.

You cannot introduce anti stealth for just one class !
how about 2 classes, imo engineers are much better suited for stealth detection, hello ! they use technology, which makes more sense than a stupid pet having stealth detection

OP is right, people need to be more open to lower levels. If you have 4 80s and 1 35, or heck even 3 80s and 2 35s it will still be beatable. Especially if that 35 has decent gear for that level. Especially if those 80s know what they are doing. It isn’t that hard.

that is also part of the problem, it’s not just that they are low level, it’s that they are also badly geared aka all in blues.

there’s rare level gear at 30 and 35, with this gear any lowbie can complete the dungeon without being a complete drag on the party or dying every other hit from boss.

and tbh ultimately the real problem is sitting between the pc and the chair !

aka player skill is more important than what level or what gear you are wearing !

-stacking is not an exploit: it’s a strategy type, if you don’t like it find a group of like minded players, but don’t come here calling it an exploit
-LOS (line of sight): also not an exploit, just another kind of strategy that works wonders

I rather have these, than a 1 button skill that pulls all aggro to one person magically !
they used to call that skill, i call it BS game mechanics.

For 70 gems, right now it’s 2.66 gold, that is a bit steep for a 1 time use.

I know you can visit the class trainer, that does help if I’m in CS or FGS, then I have to port back to LA and then back to where I was.

the class trainer manual itself is only 2g, you’re cheaper off buying a bunch of trainer books, it would just be like having this item !

which is to say it needs to be permanent to make a difference and be worth your while until templates are implemented.

The Instant Trait Reset item is now available in the Gem Store in the Consumable category for 70 gems each or 5 for 300 gems. Players can use this item anytime they are not in combat to instantly have all their trait points reset. This item is not usable in structured PvP.

it’s a great start but I like many others do NOT buy consumables at all only permanent stuff !

for example, finishers were 1st a consumable, didn’t buy any !
they turned permanent, now I have the ones I liked

my list of priorities:

- it doesn’t need to be hardcore elite, just not primarily casual.
- efficiency above casualness.
- priority to meta classes above the fun sucky sucky classes.
- PVE / dungeons primary with some WvW and sPVP mixed in for variety.
- voice comm. preferred.
- if it clicks, I’m willing to transfer servers.
- 21+ guilds only, enforced !

about me:
- I am no elite but I’m also not casual enough to put up with inefficient comps in dungeons.
- if you listen and are willing to adapt I’m a fun happy person.
- if you do not listen and unwilling to adapt I have no patience for you at all !
- I swear a lot when mad I can’t help it.
- other than that I’m a fun happy individual, just don’t get on my nerves !

I believe that it should also be granted to engineers, they are the gadget masters and are you really gonna tell me a pet can smell stealth but a gadget can’t ?

I’m a dungeon master with 5 level 80 toons trying to dungeon level my 6th toon, but it is impossible at the moment.

30% of lfg tool posts look like this:
lfm or lfg level 80 only it i impossible to find a decent (keyword here) party to do certain dungeons.
most of these parties suck big time, as they are full of people that are merely level 80 but have no idea how to do dungeons properly.

10% looks like this:
lfg or lfm all levels welcome problem is these are mostly newbs and people that have never run a dungeon before, her you find the stubborn people that do not bother to read about how to better approach an encounter, and do not follow any given advice or directions, they just aggro everything in sight and get the party wiped, their excuse is this: i wanna do it the way the developer intended it to be done BS of course but whatever.

60% look like this:
lfg or lfm level 80 only and experienced same issue here they will not take a low level player at all.
at least in these parties, the players know what they are doing and how to run dungeons for the most part, shouldn’t I as an experienced dungeon player be allowed in as well ? my only way in is if i swap to one of my level 80 characters which sucks, my goal is to dungeon level.

I’ve seen some pretty bad level 80 runners in my day, how about a guardian that is down every 5 seconds while me the lowbie 50 never go down, that has to put some shame on imo, yet I have a hard time finding a decent party to run with on my lowbie character.

it’s gotten so bad that you are not allowed to swap to your lowbie at the end boss at all !

how about this

provide an extra little reward for using the lfg tool and including low level characters in the group

Okay, I’m not crying about it. Difficulty increase is good. However this is a full map of people that genuinely tried for 15 minutes. Look where his health is at.

this is the only challenge in the game, nobody is forcing you to do it.
leave it for the challenge seekers to deal with it and go do the care bear pve stuff.

it’s still needs to be further developed but i will take gw2 systems over the stupid restrictive trinity any day of the year.

Particle effects are still a problem specially for melee classes,
in a Dev live stream there was talk about a slider they have on their end to adjust these game wide.

How about giving us a slider option instead, so we can all adjust how much particle effects we wanna see.

I’m sure this has been said before probably a long time ago but since the problem still exists

your missing the point, i think you replied to the wrong conversation mate, this is not about them bringing new content I’m happy the way they are going with it, this is about the fact that if you miss certain living world releases you’re screwed story wise.
read properly b4 you reply to something you do not fully understand what it is about.

the ability to go back and replay previous living world releases is a must for the growth of the game. would you watch whatever series is your favorite knowing you will never get to see the 1st season ever ? only hear say from others.

Colin likes to compare gw2 to a television show where every week there’s something new happening, and for the most part that is true and exciting.

the problem lies in the fact that even television shows, give you a way to go back and experience it from the beginning for those that came in after the launch of the series.

gw2 doesn’t have this capability as of yet even though the lore allows for it the scrying pool anyone ?

I know they are planning to implement a way to do this to some extent in fractals, which means the content will not be the same as it was when it was on live servers for everyone to experience.

let me tell yah, anet if I wasn’t already playing when the living world concept came into fruition, I would NOT have picked up the game at all, the reason being very simple, I would not like that the content was gone and simply because I wasn’t ther for those 2 weeks I don’t get to know what happened before I started playing, and there is no way for me to go back and play that content.

for this reason I think a lot of people don’t pick up the game, this is a major flaw that hinders gw2’s progress and growth

in television terms, this would be like watching the matrix reloaded without watching the original matrix, it wouldn’t make any sense to me at all, sure I can enjoy it but the enjoyment is half baked and obscured by the fact I didn’t know anything about Neo’s struggle and realization of how powerful he really is.

It’d be like starting DS9 right in the middle of the dominion invasion, sure it is exciting and can be followed but you know nothing of the prophets or the wormhole and most of the lore wouldn’t make any sense at all to yah.

at least in movies or television I can go back and watch the series and or movies in proper sequence and get the full story and lore background

TLDR anet needs to implement a way for example the scrying pool from gw1 to allow people to fully experience past living world content, not just a piece of it in fractals.
