as always disappointment is the name of the game !
the obelisk skill point doesn’t reset !
if all I needed was a place of power there’s one in garrison and it only costs me 2 silver !

I thought for once you actually had a great nice thing to add to the home instance but as always it just falls short.

gathering nodes, once per account instead of once per character !
at least it can be mined every day !

Now this obelisk, great idea but falls short, the skill point doesn’t reset !

I love this game, which is why I write on the forums if I didn’t care I wouldn’t bother to post at all !

It’s not an elite skill !
why is it 25 skill points ?
do you even think about the new players at all ?
just because most players have 500 skill points doesn’t mean you can make the price proportionate to them !

a heal skill should be 5-10 skill points as a maximum !
if it was an elite skill I wouldn’t mind but seriously come on !

After 2k hours played these are some the issues that stick out like a sore thumb, to me at least.

WvW, dead keep lords keep getting revived with banners
give keep lords down state, keep lord down you can banner, keep lord dead no revival, easy fix seeing as you did give PVE npc’s in clockwork and now in tower of madness a down state

reveal debuff doesn’t stack and is unblockable
sic’em should stack with already present reveal debuff to be viable, sic’em is a start but it’s unblockable it leaves no room for skillful play, also other classes need these types of skills to giving it to just the one is not good

WvW queue pops and I missed it
when WvW queue pops it needs a sound alert or something along those lines, also knowing how many are in front of you would be nice, even if you’re in edge of the mists

skill lag in WvW
this is a tough one, but needs to be as responsive as sPVP to be viable long term,
I love the game type but laggy and unresponsive skills make me quit and go back to PVE and sPVP

vendors need a quantity menu
clicking 100x times to buy 100x of the same item is not cool and that’s not considering some items pop a confirmation menu before you buy, which makes it even more annoying

precursors
account bound craftable precursors please when ?

Legendaries
legendary weapons should be account bound upon creation,
I know you agree with me a.net you made ascended account bound it is time to fix that with legendaries giving them their status and prestige back again, but not before giving us craftable precursors

the prerequisite for this is simple, a request is sent to the target and upon confirmation by the target you are allowed to view their gear and traits, either this or

The LFG should have a gear score / AR score listed for each and every dungeon, if your gear / AR is below that threshold you cannot apply to enter that dungeon, and NO not just the dungeon instance owner but every member of the team needs to meet the required gear score / AR, some will disagree but this would protect both groups the casuals and the efficiency driven dungeon / Fractal runners by ensuring that every party members meets the minimum requirements to actually complete the content and not just drag your team down to oblivion or force people to carry you through the whole thing

another thing to consider,

I can farm the same champions over and over for hours but…..
I only get the rewards for dungeoneering once per path per account.
I mean seriously at least make it per character.

if not than limit the champion bags to once per day per account as well !

I see your point but you’re missing mine, I like dungeons if they replaced that useless bloodstone dust with a rare and keep the gold rewards intact I’d be a happy camper.

they can keep the useless bloodstone T7 mats in dungeons and give me my guaranteed rare instead.

edit: your idea about champions having a guaranteed rare drop is also interesting, up to know I stay away from champ farming it is boring as hell, but if they did guarantee a rare I’d do those farm runs at least for 30 minutes or so.
(I hate farming, it’s so freaking boring)

This just hit me right,
An easy world Boss that takes 5 minutes to down has a guarantted rare item drop
while a dungeon run say even an easy one like AC takes 10-15 minutes to complete and it’s much harder, so why don’t we get a guaranteeed rare for that ?

rewards in this game are so subpar and sometimes down right wrong !

if you can’t deal with a 2v1 w/o qq’ing you might not really deserve to be in the top bracket just saying, they 2v1 your server ? ok, let’s rethink strategy and let’s deal with them instead of qq’ing about it and making it into an excuse as to why you lost or whatever.

that seems low to me, and not the behavior of a top tier competitive server at all.

Well you have one thing right, JQ had to compete agianst BG and SoR- You guys just had to compete against JQ Had to 2v1 to force us into third huh?

you talk as if the 2v1 was only against JQ, when in fact many times SoR and JQ 2v1 BG
so all in all the match was balanced, and the 2v1’s were more about strategy anyways.

there needs to be a way to demote materials from a higher tier to a lower one
example,

say i have tons of small claws but need tiny claws instead,
go to the forge and do a demotion from T2 to T1.

If it is temporary, can you at least make it possible for players to acquire in other ways? That’d be an awesome compromise. The same goes for any significant non-cosmetic LW rewards, really.

You’ll be able to acquire the skill forever, it’s simply easier to earn (doesn’t cost skill points) during the release window.

you said points plural, hmmm as long as you don’t make it grindy or something insane like 50 skill points to acquire I don’t mind, take into consideration that an elite skill has never been more than either 10 or 30 skill points.

Just because the game has been out for a year and many players have 1000 skill points sitting there doing nothing doesn’t mean you can take that as the base line for the whole populous.

Hint, that new T7 item you can buy for 20 skill points is a travesty !
it should’ve never been more than 5 or 10 skill points at the most, again just because many players have a surplus of skill points does not make them the norm.

One way to eliminate or make zergs act more life like would be making AoE target agnostic…meaning a meteor shower should actually hurt anyone in the AoE area friend or foe. Same thing as a warrior/anyone wielding a great sword…spinning wildly in the middle of a group of people should kind of hurt everyone in your path…don’t ’cha think?

Then people would have to actually think tactically instead of fat fingering every skill on their bar wildly in the hopes of doing some damage….

yeah, that’s not gonna work, rather a better idea would be to:
make AOE & siege have proximity extra damage for example, enemies closely clomped together take 150%-200% more dmg from AOE or siege attacks

all WvW puzzles should be on a separate instance indeed, it would help alleviate some of the queue problems, also player kills inside these JP instances should not affect the wvw score at all.

the UI is not the problem, it’s the overload of particle effects that makes it impossible to see.

others compare it to wow, but wow doesn’t require you to see the target, wow is a follow your rotations kind of game, while in gw it is imperative to be able to see your target’s movement.

1750/1900 hours on my warrior, have 6 other 80’s but my warrior love is still there.
playing the other classes is fun and all, and I do so when they are better suited for whatever niche task I need them for but… playing them in any other situation except for the niche situations instead of my warrior feels sub optimal and slow going.

Can’t see how this would fit in GW2 at all. The whole class simply does not fit the lore.
Would much rather see something new for a change.

I think the idea is that it’s inspired by a sort of necromancer / dervish hybrid in heavy armor.

If you remember from GW1 we had the Underworld and Palawa Joko, not to mention Prophecies had a whole lot centered around the Undead. Not too hard to believe there’s a place for a necromantic warrior ingame.

I still don’t see it. All your examples are undead, in GW2 one of the main enemies is the undead.

We have dark, evil-like spellcasters that raise the dead.

You’re saying we can’t have dark, evil-like warriors based around the same idea because it has no previous basis?

in gw2 lore, raising the dead typically means working for zhaitan and so you’d be evil
a class centered around that would be contrary to the established lore.

in personal story there is already a human that uses zhaitan’s power unknowingly to become sort of more powerful and pays the prize for it with his life, he is fought by logan and you to the death.

that would be awesome

and than in a future update mounted WvW combat, who wouldn’t like that ?
I’d buy an expansion if it had these 2 things in it with my eyes closed.

Outside is a long, difficult JP. Inside is a 5-person dungeon route. Both lead to the top floor, with a nice reward.

if it was something like what you discribe and reward was the same for both I’d rage though sorry, doing a JP in my view is not something that should reward the same as doing dungeon content, but my opinion is obviously biased

This has been asked many times but it is so important I thought a new thread would be better than to dig up a very old one.

in gw1 there was to little particle effects
in gw2 we have particle effects gone wild
I will take to little any day of the week instead of over the top particle effects

I think it’s time for a 0-100% slider in the options menu

I heard a dev say in an interview that the dev client does have a particle effects slider in the options menu, can’t remember who or when that was said it just stuck on my mind because I kept thinking, that is what we need for the live client, a slider that let’s you control how much particle effect you see.

I normally do not play a ranger at all but it seems a bit boring that the pets do not evolve at all.

also if you ever decide to implement an evolution system for pets (wink, wink)
please add a sort of fight against the pet for it or something along those lines.

I know there’s probably a good reason to require people to type the whole long item name in order to delete the item, and it’s even case sensitive but……

I never thought about it but yeah, it makes sense time warp should be a glamour type skill so it can benefit from glamour traits.

all the other buffs make no sense at all.

what is an elite ?
an elite is a skill no other profession can perform it is a specialization of sorts of your class mastery, so ok, but wait !

warrior has quickness !
thief has haste !
engies have haste !

so to make mesmer elite actually an elite it should be the only skill that provides quickness with 100% speed increase instead of 50%, otherwise it’s not an elite it’s just yet another quickness skill.

something is going on because mine have not cleared at all.

mind you, I’m not complaining or anything just asking for information / clarification as to what might be going on.

I’ve played since BWE1, have 7 level 80 characters, 100% world completion 1900 hours played and I still manage to be surprised from time to time by stuff I’ve never seen before, no precursor yet though !

This game has just to much content, and because of the way dynamic events work
you cannot really ever say you’ve seen it all, because it is not a linear path.

and the fact we have new content every 2 weeks is just wow, many argue oh but it’s not permanent well, here’s the kicker !

the fact that the content is not permanent is what compels people to play it and try and get it done, if it was permanent people would be like nah I’ll do it next month or next year.
the content would be just sitting there and never gets used.

the only thing though is it would be nice of them to add the Gw1 scrying pool to gw2 so that new players can go back in time and play the earlier living world releases the way they were released originally minus the unique rewards of course for doing the content when it actually came out.

Just bought GW2.

Now that the negative faction has had their say, let me give you the other side of the story OP.

Particularly for a person who doesn’t like traditional MMOs (like me), this game is a godsend.

Is it perfect? Not by a long shot. There are plenty of flaws in the game. And with all those flaws, even after a year, it’s still more fun for me than any other MMO I’ve played.

yeah, I’m pretty much in the same boat as Vayne here, same thoughts and all.
don’t listen to naysayers, most of them just want gw2 turned into woW 2.0 come to think of it why are they still here if they don’t like the game right ?

they are still here because no matter what negative kitten comes out of their mouths the truth is they love the game just as much as we positive sayers do.

for example, I hate WoW with a passion like you wouldn’t believe
but I don’t lie to myself saying it’s a dead game or that it is not successful or that it is not fun at all (well it’s not fun for me of course but it is clearly a lot of fun for others)

is gw2 perfect no, but than again nothing man made is perfect is it ?

it has it’s flaws, the point is that even with it’s flaws ( which can and will be fixed hopefully) it is by far and wide the best mmorpg in the market PERIOD

Trinity lovers have tried for a year on many different sites and many different avenues to hamper gw2’s progress and growth, trying to make it look bad and trying to make it look as if it’s a dead game.

Nothing could be farther from the truth

Gw2 is a very successful game, the fact other upcoming games are copying many of it’s core systems (once thought of as ridiculous systems that no developer would ever try) is a testament to arenanet’s success.

in the end the only opinion about the game that really matters to you is your own opinion, so play it and make up your own mind, I’m pretty sure you will come to the conclusion that it is a pretty great game with it’s faults and all

I will not use the stupid forge for precursors. I’ve watched my brother and a couple of others throw hundreds of gold worth of exotics for jack kitten.

RNG is RNG.

I’ve seen people burn through 800g of exos and end up with trash. I’ve seen someone drop 200g and get 3 precursors.

I’ve been playing for a year, and I’ve never gotten a thing. One of our new members got a Dusk drop from a guild mission, a week after turning 80.

RNG is RNG.

I personally think Precursors should have an (extremely lengthy and difficult) alternate method of being acquired besides insert 4 exos into mystic toilet, flush, repeat.

this is what kittens me off
- people that have played the game for a year and see no precursor no matter what they do ! skill and game loyalty goes unrewarded
- some new player that just bought the game and just barely got 1 toon to 80 does a guild mission and gets a precursor ! unskilled new player rewarded with one of the most coveted items in the kitten game for doing absolutely nothing at all

I learn that it wasn’t stackable as far as a debuff, I think it may overwrite though but its really hard to tell in a fight.

this is outrageous !
if they have reveal debuff on them because they came out back stabby stabby, and I put sick’em on them it should stack duration

there are other problems with this skill among other things.
hope they do a better job when they move on to providing engies with stealth detection.

1 – it is single target, all thieves have to do now is run in packs and bait rangers into blowing that one skill, than bring in the cavalry of stealth abusers.
2 – the debuff is to short. thieves already have a 4sec. debuff, unless it stacks duration it’s pointless
3 – needs a target to work. this is the most ridiculous part of it all, it should be an AOE ground target or the pet scans an AOE area instead of needing a target

makes me think about swtor’s stealth detection on powertech class.
now that was skill based stealth detection.

*it has an area of effect, where it scans the area for 10-15 seconds for stealth characters.
only you and your team can see the area being scanned, once a stealth character trips into it, the hurting starts and he cannot stealth for 10 seconds, well there is one cooldown they could blow and still go stealth but it only lasts for 3 seconds and has a huge cooldown.

but at least, stealth worked better there than it has ever worked here that’s for sure.
it still baffles the mind that the game had no counter to stealth for 12 months, other than run away if you can !

How come I can transmog silver doubloons into gold but there’s no copper to silver transmog !

I mean really, silver doubloon is the one we actually want !
is this an oversight or intentional ?

also putting 4 copper doubloons into the forge still gives a random gem !
not even a guaranteed doubloon of any kind what’s up with that ?

um, did you actually read what the dev’s were saying about the skill at all ?
the whole point is to apply reveal debuff when the thief is not in stealth, if he is in stealth sick’em doesn’t work at all.

my question pertains to when the thief comes out of stealth by attacking with say backstab and triggers his reveal debuff, than would applying my reveal debuff from sick’em stack to it or just plain miss or override the one present ?

if it overrides present debuff, it becomes useless.
if it doesn’t stack what’s the point !
if it misses, why bother creating the skill in the 1st place.

you talk about smart skill usage, how about using my debuff the smart way and waiting for him to ambush and apply his debuff than i apply mine and double his reveal debuff timer, instead of applying it to a thief that doesn’t have the debuff at all.

I’m guessing you’re a thief !
blowing the CD makes it totally irrelevant, and not stacking the debuff duration also makes it pointless, as we have seen already a 4 second reveal debuff does absolutely nothing to moderate stealth abuse !

if it does stack, thieves would actually think twice before engaging, as running away would be difficult with an 8 seconds stealth debuff.

some of us like to read the whole patch notes before playing a new build, it makes it extremely irritating when you release the notes and the patch at the same time.

- ability to buy/sell larger than 250. say 1000
- buy/sell history graphs with prices and dates.
- outbid notification mails.
- sell posting fee 50% return when removing item from sell listings.
- +10% posting fee if undercutting highest seller by less than 5% of current prize. original idea by Romek.4201 just a bit more expanded

An option I’d really like to see is smart ground targeting when targeting areas that are out of range.

Like if I use a 900 range teleport, but I cast it at 1000 range, then it still casts at it’s maximum 900 range in the direction of where I tried to cast it. Instead, right now it just fails until you target within range, which usually means you’ll waste like 100 range.

This would be a huge QOL change.

I have to agree with this, it also ensures you always get the full extend of the range which would be awesome.

careful OP, you might get into trouble with some over sensitive overseer for implying the cursor needs work, I myself got into trouble for suggesting something similar to your idea just today.

but yeah the cursor visibility needs work or the particle effect controls needs to be given to the players so we can decide how much particle effects we want to see or not see.

With all the particle effects flying around I can never find the pointer !
one of the things that makes spotting it difficult is the opaque rather blend color it has.

either
- give me a slider to control how much particle effect I want to see or…
- give me a way to change the pointer color so I can find it when I need to cast something in a specific spot in the middle of a fight.

a player running from you is not equal to a player you downed and exploits to get away from you no matter how you try to twist it, PERIOD !

What about Warrior and Thieves just running away when they are losing? They deny me fair points and loot. I was winning, but since neither of these professions can be caught if they dont want to, they just run away and deny me points. And Warriors can also Vengeance to deny points, Elementalists can run into towers/keeps or water to deny points.

I insist i get my loot and points when the person im fighting runs away and leaves combat! If you want to take away some people’s ability to deny points when losing a fight, then take away everyones ability to deny points when losing a fight.

in mine I actually did kill my target !

DIDN’T, hence my point is valid and yours is kinda nullified

You did not stomp your target, neither did i. And technically, you also did not kill your target, your target left.

And besides, who put you in charge of desciding where the arbitrary line is drawn?

because what you’re saying in your original post makes no sense, you want credit for doing nothing ! he ran away before you managed to kill him !

I on the other hand did kill him ! he didn’t just use his skills and run away, he had to exploit a flaw in the game code to get away from me, in your case he just ran and you couldn’t catch him period !

that’s why your statement is null and void, NOT because I’m the one that decides who gets to get credit and who doesn’t !
