80 warr [Blaze Steelsoul], 80 ele [Blaze Nightstrike], 80 mesmer [Grim Shatterwhirl]
80 guard [Dusk Grimlight], 80 engi [Flintgear]
now im playing a lot arah, and most of the people that plays arah are LFG people, i dont understand why you get mad with people that whisper to invite when you put LFG, you can´t be that lazy to not create a dungeon group………..
I only can understand that you get a little mad when you are LFG but you dont know the path. also why do you even put LFG, just w8 to see a LFM post in the lfg page and you avoid all the “problems”.
i know its irrational, if i see someone else ‘LFG’ (and im not semi afk – normally on my kindle) ill invite them, its when someone sees me LFG (they havent posted anything in map chat; atleast… since ive been in that area) and whisper me to invite them, when they couldve invited me for less (although still trivial) effort
close one… but human is better imo
asuras have fun animations, but they start getting annoying after a long time playing, starting area/capital city suck, cultural gear is nice (possibly my favourite, norn is pretty good too; but i hate norn), but alot of armour/weapons are barely noticeable, difficult to differentiate genders (ive ran dungeons with female asuras i thought were male until they spoke) and horrible personal stories (mainly because zojja seems like a petulant child)
asura are my joint 2nd favourite race though (4 humans, 2 asura and 2 celeries)
racial elites = trash… normally
they’re in an uneasy state between race-profession balance and race uniqueness
if you want to join a group that already has 4 in it, just wait for a lf1m
again; not the point i was trying to make, please read the replies as i feel i appropriately explained in there
I saw someone that was glfg…
groupception o.0
asura>norn (norn are too big and animations either look lethargic or over-exaggerated, asura animations are all over exaggerated)
foothills>metrica (i hate metrica aesthetically… it just seems… bleh; but cant point out why)
(imo)
could you reduce the scaling of effects (such as sigil of fire, leap of faith and lightning strikes) on certain enemies (it makes it harder to see wind up animations of certain bosses -sigil of fire-flame blast repeatedly blinds me when a warr uses hundred blades on rumblus)
They need to be even BIGGER!
Sadly, they were. Got nerfed in the last BWE. Plenty of people complained, but I guess it wasn’t enough. For some bizarre reason, there were people that wanted them smaller.
could be because they were taking up all the screenspace, they’re still an issue imo; especially as most norn are guardians/warriors meaning they prefer meleeing in dungeons and making it hard to see wind up animations… and JPs… dont forget the JPs XD
I chose Norn because I wanted to play a nine foot tall Nordic juggernaut of death, not because I wanted a oversize human.
If anything, they should make the Nord models even LESS human, not more.
though i agree with this; if you want a char with human proportions; play a human, norn arent human thus (imo) they shouldnt have similar proportions/animations
There is a similarity and a difference.
The similarity is that both people are looking for other people to play with.
The difference is that people who type LFG are lazy and want everything done for them, and people who type LFM are the ones who are actually proactive and don’t let 5 people sit around typing LFG at the same time for half an hour.Simply put, if you are looking for a group, maybe you should start one. I’m sure 4 other people would love you for it. And yes, sometimes YOUR time and YOUR effort is the time and effort that needs to be spent — not someone else’s. MMOs are not all about ME ME ME.
People like you annoy me more than the people who are just trying to help you.
i hate starting a group as i hate feeling resposible for wasting peoples time if it falls apart (again; irrational as i dont blame other people if they start a group and it falls apart – id guess it has something to do with being autistic), not that i dont form teams if i see people want the same thing as me; my annoyance stems from people who lack the intuition to be able to start a team themselves and instead (effectively) ask others (me) to start it for them.
i sense theres been some miscommunication, either i havent put my point across accurately or you havent bothered interpreting it shrug
I honestly don’t see why people need to type LFG. Players should either advertise that they need a spot in their group or wait until someone else is advertising that they need players in their group. Sometimes I see like ten people spam LFG and I’m scratching my head wondering why none of them are forming a group. Sometimes, there’s one player typing LFM and a few other players spamming LFG for a few minutes. Do they not see the opportunity to whisper or self invite?
Players who make groups should be the only ones advertising and players searching for groups should be inviting themselves to the group maker’s team to avoid a lot of crowded text on chat. A player spamming LFG is the equivalent of walking in the middle of a mall food court and saying “Looking for food!”. You’re more likely to get food if you stand in line for the food you want, correct? Typically, if you’re in the food court, you, like many of the people around you, want food, too. When it comes to grouping, why not just wait for someone to advertise a group or start your own? A person starting a group is more useful than a bunch of people who want to join a group. They’re creating the one thing everyone wants, even if they start alone. If you don’t post for unnecessary attention, you won’t find those “weirdos” pm’ing you that they want to join your group. Am I wrong?
Sorry if I sounded harsh there, but I think the problem exists from just posting LFG in the first place. Posting text draws attention from a crowd that does not always follow what many of us think is “standard”. Of course, sometimes you have a valid reason to post LFG such as having a lack of experience with the dungeon, but it may be better to just wait around until someone posts LFM.
again; im not opposed to starting a group myself (especially if ’ I see like ten people spam LFG’), although i do dislike it
(see above)
TL;DR im not adamantly opposed to starting teams, but loathe people telling me to invite them when im LFG (indicating singular; meaning they could just invite me instead of whispering me to invite them)
this annoys me nearly every time im trying to find a group; wondered if it does anyone else…
i post in map chat ‘LFG dungeon mode’ and get someone whisper me saying ‘me too’ or ‘invite’… NO, im Looking For Group, not Looking For More, if you want to start a group then invite me, putting aside the fact that im crazy (and thus HATE starting a group) is takes less effort to invite someone than it does to whisper them
i know its irrational; but it makes my blood boil "/
im not really bothered about the examples (as non of my characters are norn) but there are other armour sets that i would like to be able to wear ingame +1
its a gold sink… if these ‘taxes’ were removed then youd see inflation all over the TP
Make the thing actually work, and not die in 5 seconds flat, that would be a start.
pay more attention to it (f3…)?
invest in beastmastery (+300 to all stats at 30… although i only use 10)?
use tankier/ranged pets (devourer fits both)?
-Because i have 6 lvl80’s and i would like to level this 1 in dungeon, also i dont poke mobs at all and no i don’t die more often than lvl80.
im not defending those who kick low levels; but lacking certain traits definitely hinders some classes viability in dungeons (and im sure theyve probably partied with lower levels who dont know how to play in dungeons)
- also; due to the lack of the third attribute you’re likely to either be glassy (die if you cant play your class well – i didnt say you’d die more than a lvl 80… my example was supposed to point that out; the only two times i got downed were scavengers… and one was whilst ressing because it leaped after distortion wore off) or just poking mobs
ofcourse a good party can get past AC regardless of levels
i actually asked in map chat a while ago why people only wanted level 80s for AC exp… the answer i got was ‘because they can dodge’ which made me roflmao
though… i did try to level my mesmer (which is now lvl 80 – my fifth) in AC exp at lvl 40… i think i got downed twice over all three paths (utilising distortion and/or time warp to res and ninja evasion skills) but felt like i was poking mobs; came back at 65 (triple attribute gear) and felt much more useful
i dont see why you cant just level in open world or create your own party though?
not really needed… the only advantage i see you suggesting is incorporating a worse… i cant recall what the shout is called… ‘guard’?
f1 is already attack target (i nearly always have my pet set to passive; so always manually tell it to attack)
f2 pet skill (why move it to f4? when players are already familar with it)
f3 is return to me (that attentive rangers actively use to aid their pet – moving them out of AoEs)
this change isnt really needed..
The only effective counter to stealth, at the moment is stealth; nothing else.
shield stance/tool kit do a decent job…
but the only issue i have with stealth is culling (stealth breaks if they do damage – they arent still stealthed; just not rendering on your client)
define ‘something small’?
i think alot of people (myself included) would object to this because of bad pugs; ive been in groups where people have been repeatedly killed on a single boss (how many downs is it till instant death? 4?), if my rewards are cut because someone cant utilise the dodge key i wouldnt be happy
Mini’s DO drop, it’s just that they are extreeeeeemly rare.
i think you misunderstood… they’re suggesting that mini pets go and loot corpses for you (ak; true autoloot)
i miss alot of loot (especially in wvw) so think this would be a great idea
no no nonono no
fear is generally longer duration than stuns/immobs but thats because the foe is running away (meaning you cant nail them in an aoe and have to actively chase them – it seems pretty balanced imo)
or you could pop stun breakers/stability?… they exist in game for a reason…
whats an ‘emo warning’?
>.>
also; both the howling king and collossus rumblus have very obvious skill wind ups and simple skill cycles (unless someone decides to stun one during a scream… then sometimes they pull off a double scream), i can stay right next to rumblus on my warr using counterblow to block any falling rocks and shield stance to block its scream. if people wipe then its a l2p issue or a sucky party…
i dont quite understand what you’re suggesting…
however; bleeding has longer duration than burning and stacks intensity; making it a viable alternative to burning for pure damage
poison is more of a utility DoT imo; 33% heal reduction is very nice
and all classes do the same amount of condition damage (if they have the same condtion damage stat – the formulas are fixed across all professions)
only profession that can use bleeding/poison well is necromancers? obviously you havent played a sword warr, scepter ele or SB ranger… all can get 10+ stacks of bleeding easily
90%? ahahahahahaha
so… area of effect pokes?
illusions are hardly an issue as they can be resummoned easily(if you see all your illusions in a red circle thats going to kill them; the best thing you can do is hit a shatter)
minions… idk, i used MM for a day, hated it; so cant comment
rangers can keep their pet alive if they pay attention towards it (if its in a red circle; hit f3… and hunters shot if you’re using longbow) i use raven(swiftness helps in reaching players, plus its less obtrusive than… say… a bear; which people notice if its mauling them) and jaguar (invis <3) in wvw and im never without a pet (because if i do mess up; i can just switch them out)
long bow rapid fire is a 5 second channel, other channeled single target ranged attacks (theif unload, mesmer spatial surge, engi poison volley etc) will do the same; but rapid fire is the longest (that im aware of), meaning its much more noticable (and one of the good points about longbow that most rangers arent aware of)
i recall someone suggesting a mainhand dagger ages ago… acting like a reverse GS (more damage the closer they are)… that sounds pretty fun
edit
going for staff… the only reason im using GS is because i like t3 asura GS, i much prefer staff playstyle
… feel kind of stupid for answering my own question though…
(edited by Linguistically Inept.6583)
+1, id love to see mystic forge recipes to make each one either constantly glow, or never glow at all
i kind of liked how the wintersday minis were handled… the only issues i have is that you need 6 minis as opposed to 3 from the box, and that they arent available on the TP, the free 2/3/5 minis (with more available in the store) seemed like a great idea
Now with that said, what is a “RNG box”? I want to know if there’s one chance in a million I will ever own Foostive the Merry.
RNG = random number generator
… id normally agree with you, but imo every gamer (especially those who play games with loot) should know what it means
i have a feeling you’re confusing the howling king and collosus rumblus… the howling king has a small soulscream(which also confuses) and summons adds (similar to a breeder), the rumblus has always (well, since ive been doing ac) has an erratic/larger scream radius and drops boulders from the roof
… i just ran all three paths; i see no difference "/
No one cares what title You, or anyone else has. Seriously. However achievements began and stuff, the only value imo is to suggest what is actually possible in a game.
I know some ppl will champion the cause of self-satisfaction, but tell me….when did self satisfaction last longer then it took to brag to a guildie who didn’t care, or to clean yourself off?
half of my characters dont even have titles equipped, thats not what annoys me, its the trivialisation of the already trivial "/ and my guild is definitely not active enough to brag
I know of some ppl that log on to get dailies. That is so off to me. This is a game, not a job. While achievements shouldn’t be easymode, they shouldn’t be elite either. Indeed, no one cares about what you’ve done as much as you do. They serve to demonstrate some of the extremes attainable in a given time. It’s a carrot, you know? It’s nothing.
but (as someone pointed out earlier) none of the holiday achievements are actually hard, none of them are ‘extremes’, making them all required for the title achievement wouldnt exactly be elitism. it annoys me that were getting ‘spoon fed’ achievements
- though logging on just for dailies seems a bit… odd
why do we get the holiday titles without having to complete all holiday achievements?
I sure have not got any title and I’ve completed everything except the jumping puzzle which my PC will not let me do.
i got the toymaker title before even entering snowball fight, i suppose it couldve been a bug, but afaik (i didnt actually check; as i did all the achievements anyway) the pumpkin carving/clocktower achievements were not needed for the emissary title
Well, last time i complained about this “reduction on dolyaks for achievment”
a Mod deleted my post and banned me for 2 days from the Forumsso im just not gonna say anything else about nothing, they could remove my entire account or something!! lol
hmmm, i normally attribute claims such as these to people being overly aggressive in their posts, which ive purposefully tried not to be, and this directly relates to wintersday (so i dont believe it to be in the wrong forum)… shrug
why reduce the dolyaks from 5 to 1? thats no longer an achievement
why do we get the holiday titles without having to complete all holiday achievements?
imo, achievements shouldnt be something everyone can get… i suck at pvp, i hadnt even tried the snowball fight and i got the title (then i went and played the snowball fight -for completionism- and found it quite enjoyable), if someone cant complete the jumping puzzle; they should not get the holiday title (sure it would suck for those with physical conditions preventing them from being able to achieve it; but then again… why would they be playing a game that requires a certain amount of manual dexterity?)
just my opinion; id love to hear what others think
carrion, rampager (but its pretty ‘glassy’ if you go full) or… the dungeon exclusive prec/tough/conddam (i think its rabid?)
id probably go for the latter, i much prefer toughness over vitality (the precision helps greatly in proccing sigils/traits)
they dont move… but alot of the charr t1 stuff is quite steampunk-ish, charr t3 shield is also a gear
would be stupidly OP with the warrior reflect whilst blocking trait (i use mace+shield mostly; two blocks)
ranger longbow is 1500 (traited – 1200 without)
warr longbow is 1200 (900 without trait)
scorpion wire is 1200 (according to the wiki… so it wont be pulling anyone at max longbow range)
spectral grasp is 1200 (AND it chills <3… i love this skill in wvw, its massively useful for picking targets out of a zerg for a group of your side to focus down)
theif max range is 900… in wvw against zergs they need some sort of a gap closer; i dont see why this is an issue
(before crying that im a thief that doesnt want it nerfed; my thief is lvl 19 -and has been for a long time- i have a lvl 80 warr, ranger, necro and ele and i dont want it nerfed because i dont see its range as an issue – if it is pulling people through objects then it obviously needs to be fixed)
they’re not too hard to obtain… as long as you dont mindlessly TP every rare/exo that drops
No. Its only thing what makes different between rares and other 1s trash what we vendor. What really need petition is RNG remove. RNG kill fun in this game and fun was Anet philosophy. Was.
you’re completely right, let every mob drop the exact same stuff over and over again /sarcasm
clearly you have no idea about game design, RNG is a staple in any game that involves loot… also i dont find the item drop rates to be bad (and ive played alot lot worse games with loot)
i like the idea of stat bonuses that only affect kits… i really like the elixr gun but feel like im forced into pistols to effectively utilise it
spider turrets sound really cool… i hope they add those, but it sounds like some of the ‘traits’ in turrets would be OP (when combined with the normal traits)
Responding to Vayra, no I disagree with you there. If you are saying a legenardary is requiring the player to do everything, then why did I have to instruct someone who has a Bifrost through Ascalon Catacomb? Trust me it was weird for me too instructing someone who has a legendary and didn’t know squawk about AC. The thing is WvW is a limited club, so why is Anet making people would rather do something else jump in there and do nothing but jump the puzzle and get out. That’s not really doing anything to WvW. Getting legendary doesn’t mean a person have done everything considering many of the forged ones are made by people who had guild/friends feed them materials or someone who played the market. Getting legendary is about effort and for many which will take a long time to acquire. PvP as it stands is its own entity so making it require for forging a legendary makes no sense. The main issue here as Rin pointed out is that making players get WvW maps completion and badges will not really make some players play WvW. I have already cleared all the maps in WvW during a week where SoR had all the maps. Took me two hours that could’ve been doing something else. It was not something I enjoy. I run nightly runs of SoR borderland using all the alts I have which takes about 30-45 minutes, which is again time I could use to do something else. I’m not playing WvW as intended which is the whole point of making it a requirement to forging a legendary. I have seen guilds just porting their members through the puzzle then all exiting. This again, is taking up slots making people who actually wants to play WvW wait. The main issue here is that Anet taunt the game as three different components and players should be able to enjoy the content they want. Considering forging a legendary weapon is as PvE as it can get, why are we required to do WvW for those who don’t enjoy it. Thank you Rin for seeing this as an issue. I total agreed with you there on some of Anet design decisions, considering how great some of its design choices are and then there are just some that begs “Why is it here?”, which I could have a whole blog about.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Bifrost
the bifrost requires gift ofzhaitan, not ascalon, its entirely plausible that theyd never done AC before; but they mustve done arah exp several times (showing dungeon experience)
how are you getting pulled off the starter platform? the only way i can see that occuring is a focus mesmer… but having been on the other side of that situation (baruch bay had arrow carts set up on their side; with arborstone camping below) it was easy to dodge (pressed v as soon as i heard/saw the it) i then stood on the bit of the platform that the BB arrowcarts couldnt reach until out of combat and ported out of there
spawn camping does not seem to be as big an issue as arena camping; a zerg can gather at spawn and wipe them if they linger, getting to the arena tends to take varying amounts of time for different players (seperating them) and only the best jumpers can get past it whilst still invisible (though easily/annoyingly counterable by random aoe on the platforms – hello arrow carts -_-)
… best invis run ive done got me to the top of the arena (ran out a few seconds after reaching the top platform -with the chain-), luckily there were no campers; but if there were they wouldve seen me reappear (and likely kill me before i could reach the third well)
edit… also you can port out immediately after seeing them camping spawn; if theyre camping arena you lose more time if they kill you
not able to, or not willing to?
to be honest i cannot comprehend that. what is the problem exactly? no hardware (headphones/soundcard), voip software (srsly?), voip server (u can just join some wvw guilds server, dont need to have your own).well ofcourse this is a bit off topic.
lets say they make those /group1 /group2 … chars
but seriously i cannot imagine you writing orders to 3 different parties, unless you just stand in the sidelines and type commands all the time. how efficient is that?
could be deaf…
could have latency issues if running both it and gw2
could be like me and loathe vocal social interaction (i dont mean dislike… i mean HATE, i barely ever speak to people)
im not a commander, but can see how useful this would be… ive often seen commanders calling for focus eles, guardians or mesmers and no one replies/reacts (i mostly play wvw during the night/morning shift – im nocturnal – so we dont have many active players, just focus on holding what we have)
i agree with removing wvw from map completion (maybe reward a set amount of badges for completing wvw exploration?)
legendaries indicate a player has done everything… so it seems fitting that badges remain in the recipes (though something should be done about the kill:badge ratio… i got <40 badges from hundreds of kills since headstart, within a week -running the EBJP with my 4 lvl 80s (the amount of badges scale with level)- im up to 350… and quite a few golem blueprints; which im happy about)
could be worse… you could have the moot, meteorlogicus, howler or the focus (w/e its called)… then youd feel REALLY inferior xD
… though (apparently) they’re planning on updating legendaries (at some point) to look more legendary (hopefully making everything as spiffy as the GS’/bolt)
sounds interesting… but seems only useful on a MM build (i hate minion builds simply because im forced into two minion related traits just for staff recharge/mark size traits)
i would much prefer a death shroud reworking (… more than the obvious oversights -boons/conditions)… something like; making it do different things for different builds (but could be iffy with how it would be implemented)
i loved this ‘bug’
(also like that jumping puzzle of the week suggestion on the reddit link)
+1
maybe add multiple guild… channels(?) so a single guild can divide itself into a wvw/dungeon/spvp/general channels, i feel like thats what they were trying to achieve with multiple guilds… but it just failed horribly
i kind of like it… but what about the rewards? will they reset each run? each day? not reset after the event is over (so 3 giant gifts each wonderland run instead of karma and tonic)? not provide a reward?
also; if they did still provide a reward then there would need to be a merchant NPC (although i suppose it could be easily solved by moving the related NPC into the JP starting area; but it destroys the timed exclusivity of their items – theres no specialty in owning the crossing/arachnophobia/the mad moon perm as someone can just run into the JP and buy the temp skin – graphically identical to the exotic)
Or, you could just make the already-in-existence Foefire exotic weapons.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Foefire%27s_Essence

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Azureflame
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aether
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/EidolonA lot more work, but I think it’s so worth it; I personally have my eye on the Foefire’s Power as my long-term forge-item.
i knew someone would mention them xD, im actually planning to use foefires essence on my ranger once i get my other classes geared out (working on necro/warr atm), however, they’re not the same skins (for example; i prefer nighttime AC shield to eidolon), dont have the same variety as ghastly weapons (focus, torch, sword, mace, axe etc) and are constantly blue (i particularily like the day time mace on my warr as its large enough to be easily noticed, and the spikes suit my armour -temple boots/leggings, AC chest/helm, mithril crafted pauldrons/gauntlets)
