As of now 36 characters, 12 level 80’s and I’m tempted to buy yet another char slot this evening.

My solution to your dilema is to create yet another alt! I have found it quite fun playing a class I’ve already leveled to 80 and geared in a diferent race. Give it a shot and maybe you’ll become addicted to!

You also have good advice, I had a sylvari mesmer which I really hated and a human engineer, I switch the mesmer to norn and the engineer to sylvari and now I’m really happy with the out come. If you’re really picky with your characters, you should experiment with different races as well.

Yes you are discouraged from playing alts. If you want to fully gear out all your characters it will take months to just get the earrings/amulet. The rings are fairly easy, the fractal level isn’t a real big deal since only 3 professions are accepted at higher levels. But storymodes, I think, should be account wide because they are so hard to complete with almost no one wanting to do them.

I’d love to gear out all of my level 80s, will it happen anytime soon? Nope Will it happen ever? Probably not.

Still I think a reasonable level for fractals is lvl 20 and maybe 30, just for the skins. If you are doing it for the better drops may I suggest farming CoF1?

I can’t agree more about the trait lines being kittened up… I mean I run staff with any of my builds power or condition and I have to put 3/4 of my points just to make staff acceptable…

I’m really sick of necros getting 0 attention from the devs since they are the profession that needs the most help but they seem to want to tweak engineers and rangers more. Rangers are meh, Engineers are okay, Necros are worse than kitten. And with the incoming(?) nerf to AoE, what will necros be then?

I love my necro, it has over 1,000 hours and I’ve experimented with a lot of builds…It’s not nearly as good as my guardian. So when I do fractals(and almost all dungeons) I feel like I’m letting my team down by not bringing a guardian, mesmer or warrior. And it really feels kitten when people say “no necros” when looking for group.

If they completely reworked our traits to be on par with warrior which would give more of a consistency between all profession’s traits and buffed our axe #1 and daggers #2 and #3, while giving scepter a faster attack rate. While giving staff #1 a complete rework while adding maybe a bleed to it with a faster auto attack which would make sense. I would be happy. But who am I kidding?

If it comes with a new skin, yes I do want it. Otherwise gtfo plz

You are totally right, paragon armor was one of my favorites in GW1, probably why I love this armor so much.

This reminds me of the effects of the moot or confusion, I think it’s just culling of confusion because there is so much of it in Southsun Cove.

This was datamined from the gw2 data files without a date associated with it, and ANet has not confirmed the new armor skins with any time frame. It could be out with this update, but there’s really no telling at the moment.

Actually, didn’t Colin say in one of the discussions about the upcoming patch that there weren’t any armors in this one? He pointed us to a reddit post or something…which mentioned something about Dragon Festival too. I’ll have to see if I can find that again…all I remember really is the dragon festival stuff, cause I was completely psyched about that.

The problem is that there’s an achievement leaderboard, which some people seem to care about, and if you made it this way, everyone with a ton of alts and some time would easily be able to top the leaderboard.

I wouldn’t actually mind if the change was made, but the problem here is that dailies were always able to be done on any character, so if I played one, I’d get my daily and if I played a different one I’d STILL be working on the same daily.

What you’re essentially asking is for a complete rewrite of the rules. People are already complaining (in other threads) about the pressure from feeling they have to do the daily. How do you think they’ll respond when they feel they have to do four or five of them.

While this change would work for some people (those who have multiple characters and those who have the time to regularly do multiple dailies) I think it would work against the bulk of the population…so it’s a change that will never happen.

In fact, the whole purpose of making dailies the way they were was so casuals COULD catch up. I mean if you don’t have a ton of time to do dailies now, you only have to do 30 dailies to get an ascended amulet. Less if you do a monthly.

Changing this would give a huge advantage to people with lots of free time. It negates the whole reason for the cap in the first place.

You really ruin the experience of the forums by posting in every thread you disagree to with a condescending “My way is right everything else is flawed logic and therefore a hyperbole.”

I think your English talents are better served writing a book instead of posting on the forums 24/7.

I’ve written quite a few books, thanks for suggestion though. I didn’t call this suggestion hyperbole either, so why you’d bring that specifically up, I have no idea.

I’m allowed to disagree with people on a forum. Why people should say I ruin the forum by disagreeing, I don’t understand. I didn’t suggest the OP ruined the forum by posting what he posted. I think the OPs post is quite reasonable, compared to many of the threads I post in. I never suggested the OP was unreasonable or used hyperbole.

I do suggest, however that the OPs suggestion will have a negative affect on part of the playerbase. I’m really sorry that that ruins your experience of the forums.

If disagreements are hard for you to deal with and they ruin your experience, perhaps you should take up something less stressful.

This brings chronic pain to me and I have trouble sleeping at night.

I’d rather just to be able 1 of the dances instead of all 3. Compared to other games this game seems pretty generous with their prices. In TERAble it would cost at least $10 for a chance for a special dance (rng boxes). …But anyways, I’m still not buying it.

Ummmm…engineers do a lot more damage than necro and ele…….>.> and engineers attack a lot faster using bombs/grenades only thing is ele imo, has more support than engineer.

Maybe in a couple of years we will be able to customize our backpacks. Even to be able to change the color of the backpacks would help.

I have a female sylvari with the long pony-tail and the backpacks are disgusting and clip horrendously with 90% of the sylvari hair styles(unless I go shroom head or bald)… I’d rather see my quaggan backpack 24/7 and I hope they do change that soon.

JQ, SoR and TC I recommend. Jade Quarry and Tarnished Coast are probably the most active servers with the most talkative people.

Well I didn’t look through all the posts but the entire grawl fractal seems inspired by Indiana Jones and the temple of doom (pretty obvious to people who watched the movie). The worshiping grawls, the rail carts, the lava.. I love it when they reference Indiana Jones because it’s one of my favorite movie series so running away from giant rock balls that can crush you is fun in my book

Do we even know what kind of exploit this was? Dungeon? Open World? Crafting? Getting double rewards? What?

I’ve read so many posts about Lupi and how he is soooo hard and no one but the uber leet pros could kill….then I did Arah… I thought he was pretty easy. His second phase is no problem when you see the pattern of his attacks. I did Arah with 4 noobs and a person who was some what familiar with the mechanics of the dungeon, no wipes at Lupi (ranger,guard,2 ele, warrior). The hardest part of Arah is skipping mobs. Tbh I really think this is a l2play issue. Eles are really nice in arah with all the defense utility skills btw, if you can’t for the life of you dodge his red circles maybe you should level an ele and use mistform.

I agree, guests on any server should be the first sent to the overflow. I have been on TC since day 1, and yesterday I actually had to guest on a different server to fight the dragons and grind some ORR missions. I would sincerely ask those even thinking about transferring here, is it worth your money to transfer if you will have to guest on other servers to do content?

Here is a quick story that may provide an analysis of the situation. When I was in college, my small group of friends started to go to a small local bar because it was quieter and more fun than the large, massively populated places. After a while, more and more of our extended friends group started to join us. Eventually, we had created an awesome place for our like minded friends to hang out. But… people started to brag about how great what we had was, and how much fun we were having at “our” bar. Within a few weeks this info had spread and pretty soon the fraternity and sorority groups that we were seeking to avoid started to show up in our new place. It wasn’t long until what we had was gone, and we had to find greener pastures.

TL;DR – be careful bragging about the great thing you have, pretty soon everyone will want it and it might become what everyone else already had.

Guys, I know TC is the best and all since we got RPers and the best community evar but we should just tell everyone else that they can’t come to our server even though they can. Because the hardcore players demanded a gear grind? I’m pretty sure fractals was developed before the game was released and was planned to be implemented in November… If hardcore players wanted the end-game gear grind they could just pick up any other mmo on the market.

Like it or not…hardcore players make games active. Not all hardcore players want gear grind. Or does hardcore player=/= people who play a lot?

Ahhh the annoyances of using whirlwind attack and having your target deselected and using rush then running out into another mob. And even normal face-to-face game play it sometimes gets deselected.

I also get a problem when I right click and the cursor often goes to the other side of the screen and clicks on a person in my party.

I agree…. definitely 30+ years old…her voice annoys me because it does sound older and my characters look like they’re 20-25 years old…I wish there would be a choice of voices kinda like Aion, I would have picked the asura voice rather than the human (it’s not as annoying as humans).

50-60 hours for lvl 80 (no event farming, no crafting)

If you don’t want to spend any money on armor 5-10 days (dungeon armor, depending on what one you want, some are harder to get than others)

If you want ascended rings/backbrace 5-20 days (depending on your luck)( need to grind this dungeon to get rings)

Ascended amulet (30 days)

Or just farm CoF, TA and buy exotic trinkets

OFC, this is just my experience, you can go faster or slower depending on your profession/how you play

Don’t know but i’ve run with every classe in the game and only problems i have are with the player failing, not the class. I’ve been with guards who can’t stay alive, warriors who can’t stay alive, thieves who spend more time downed than dpsing. For me, people like that have my runs hell and slow.

That’s pretty much it, sadly…My friend who plays guardian sucks and can’t survive at all…and guard is the EZ mode profession of the game(I would rather have a good player that plays a necro/ranger/engi)… People don’t want to experiment with the so called worthless professions.

They aren’t useless but no where near on par with warrior. Warrior does not need a nerf, other professions need a buff…

Replace every swear word with kitten in game, people might think you are insane but at least you won’t get banned.

You should try path 3 CM, pretty easy even with pugs. I don’t recommend the other paths since they can be quite difficult to figure out.

Already have done CM paths (happened to be in a group with Mesmers who did stuff with portals). Its anything past CM I haven’t done yet, but will now have to try (at least once on each path to get achievements).

I don’t think I like the change to the swords icon in WvW. How are we supposed to know where any fighting is (if noone says anything in chat)?

- No direct trade- I kind of agree, but it would be kinda like scamming noobs out of their money because they don’t know what things are worth

- Multi-Guild- Agree, big problem, people don’t leave the guild they just never represent it, Anet is trying to figure out how to make them useful like to have guild missions, will this work? Maybe

- No roles-Kind of agree, no healer, just tank, dps, and superior dps

- Poorly designed combat, skills, traits, combo fields, down state (shallow)- Agree, lots of skills even compared to different professions seem the same (weapon skill 2 pops out in my mind)

- Encounters are braindead- Open world? Agree, Zerg WvW? Agree, people who don’t know how to do anything will fail horribly when trying to run, dodge red circles, do anything that requires some brainz (some dungeons, skipping mobs, fractals, spvp (I guess))

- Events are zergfests that require no mechanical strategy or player skill- Most, grenth and balth stand out as some skillful open world events..even then you can be stupid and held up by other people who actually understand the mechanics of the game

- Players have no reason to actually group in the open world because of class structure.- Agree, never group with people in open world, and people who do (PHAT LEWTZ grouping doesn’t count because you aren’t socializing or playing as a team)

- No LFG tool- Agree, just look at gw2lfg.com….

- Can’t bring PvE gear into sPvP- Disagree, I play mesmer, engi, necro in sPvP and only 1 is lvl 80. (even ground stats is nice when you want to experiment with classes you don’t know and don’t feel like spending 30-50g to get them the best armor)

If you’re a casual player playing a MMO and assume you should get the same rewards as people who play everyday for many hours, you are greatly mistaken. This isn’t and issue, it’s an issue for people who are spending time with their kids/wife and day dreaming of what they could be doing on GW2 instead.

Despite the differing time needed to attain their 30 laurels according to their schedule, they would need to do 30 days worth of dailies.

Now let’s assume each daily has 5 tasks. Alright so far boys and girls?

I listed one of many examples as a solution that wouldn’t compromise the notion of effort. The example being, Forsaken World, another MMO. That game also had dailies! Amazing!

If you missed 2 days of logging in, you could still finish all 3 at one go on the 3rd day. Meaning 3 days of tasks.

In the GW2 context, if you logged in only on the third day, you’d being doing 15 tasks.
Because 3 × 5 = 15. If multiple sums perturbs you, think of it as 5+5+5= 15. Or if you had 3 baskets of 5 apples, you’d have 15 apples!.

That wasn’t so hard!

So, between a person who religiously logs in everyday for 3 days and a person who logs in once every 3 days, would they being completing the same amount of tasks for 3 days worth of rewards? Yes…

So really, what are some of you smoking.
