yes, right you are. This build is countered and not op anymore.
Even without a thief the in your team you should not be worry about the engi. Because the build does not apply burning like hell anymore and the engineer is dying in no time without Elixir S.
It is not removed from the game like 100nades. It still works that’s all

but on your build are the sigils “wrong” they share the cooldown so you should change one of this sigils before you run.

It was the best Engineer build before nerf.
Is HGH still a problem ? The top engineers are not running with HGH anymore. The damage after Incendiary powder nerf is not that good. Survivability with nerfed Elixir S is maybe the worst of all possible builds.
I think HGH is balanced or maybe a little too weak instead of too overpowered. (I guess removing random stuff from Elixir H should be fine)

It’s a strong build, but it’s really hard to master.
I wanna know who made a decision to have a class with a undodgeable combo that can deal more than 60% of anyones HP while being invulnerable… that’s the state of mesmer.
I watched Ostricheggs stream. His team was playing against a team with a good mesmer. Dealt 16k damage in 3sec on 2.5k armor. 5times in the game. This was just wow.
I do not like the stun breaker on the weapon skills :/
Condition HGH works fine against Mesmers. If your stunbreaker is up, you should have enough pressure to kill them before you die in the 2nd or 3rd shatter combo.
For d/d eles this also work, but you have a hard time to kill them. Because they have to die in 10sec.
Thiefs with sword/dagger are more or less immune to conditions and steal boons. HgH is real bad against them.
totally agree. If you see a stream and the player says : Oh my gosh. Then you know he is fighting against a mesmer and got stun+ shatter or perma stun/daze + phantasm or moa
Can we expect the patch today?
I hate to play against the thief mit s/d. I do not care if it is overpowered. But I guess it is not a good idea to design a char people hat to fight against.
Immune to condis, hard to hit. Hitting like a truck. Stealing all buffs. Simply suck
I would like to see:
- No random effects on our stuff. I do not know a single player who thinks: Cool if I press button A I will be suprised what I get.
- Rework on Gadgets. At the moment nothing is useable.
Grenades Engis have mostly HGH and this means they have many stacks of might.
So go for sword/dagger. Steal our buffs, remove all conditions. Problem solved.

The golden age of HGH is gone.
I think they should nerf the damage of a warrior if they give him new stuff.
at the moment if you do not watch your back you are dead if a warrior hits you. If they are not kiteable you will die every time to them.
- ranger pet deals less damage
- warrior gets more condition removal
- warrior gets small buffs
- weakness will work for all attacks
- necro DS rework

Sometimes I can understand the frustration some players have, being permanently matched against premades. This frustration leads to leaving the game. If the soloQ is seperated and the MM-System contains more indicators than just your personal rating, than you can add a punishment for leaving. But not before.
I can’t. While I can agree that it would be nice to have soloqueue and teamqueue there is nothing wrong with being matched against a premade since your opponents are rankbased. I have been keeping track of my state on leaderboards and watched myself rise from around 50% on the board to my current of 85-95%. You almost never get matched against a well coordinated premade team until you hit 90% in my experience. So if you hit these premades constantly they are either not very good, or your rating is pretty good. I take it as a compliment when I get my face smashed in by a good premade team.
So you telling me that if I’m top200 or top10 (whatever ranking I’d have) I’m just able to play against premades, because there are nearly only premades in this rating-area? Definitely not. It’s also not funny if I play with my team and completely destroying soloQ-ers (50:500), which fought their way up into the ladder just to get a kick into their **** . It’s not fair for them and not challenging for us.
But it’s hard to understand for someone that didn’t played competitive as a team nor as a soloQueuer.

I do understand that you do not like to play against a premade team if you play solo. But a player with your skill will crush players with my skill in a soloQ. And if the system checks all available opponents (but no premade teams) for you, you will wait x hours until you have a single match. Because the system has to find opponents for you in the top 100 and they do not play soloQ very often (2/3 of all top 100 players have less then 300 games).
in a soloQ are maybe 1000 player with my skill. Maybe 150 random and very bad teams and only ~10 solo player with your skill. If you play not on prime time, you will wait forever because the system has no chance to find a good matchup for you.

I bet a good match making system is hard to create. But if a player did not enter the game, then the game should not be started or something. It is for both sides bad if you have to play 4vs5.
Retaliation and confusion solve this ‘problem’ for me.
Then again when these threads have zero info about class, build, strategy, etc, i see a vent post… nothing more.
Retaliation and confusion does nothing on the mesmer during blurred frenzy nor it helps against Mind Wrack. Funny how a ‘problem’ can be solved.
It is the strongest combo in the game. And to be honest it is not very funny to play against a shatter Mesmer. Specially if you know you can’t avoid the damage. Stunbreaker with a cooldown of 40+sec is not really helpful. Only stuff like mist form helps but you eat the combo 12 sec later again.

Rifle 4 on Engineer is fine? If I shoot at a guardian or an ele having aegis. I knock myself down, nothing else. Same if I miss for no reason.
Rifle 2 takes so long and often does not hit.
Rifle 5 is very funny. Sometimes I do not land where I placed my ground target.
Other classes have a stunbreaker with a cooldown of 40sec and the thief gets it for free. Mesmer has also nice possiblities to break stun with weapon skills.
Teldo won the 1on1 tournament. Didn’t he?
nice build. But without any knockback it is a pure pointholder. I guess the bombkit with healing bombs makes more sense.
I think Grenade Kit will get nerfed regardless tbh. If we are lucky we will find out during the State of Game.
Either way, I think a auto fire would be nice but no auto aiming mechanic.
Watching all the tournaments in the last some days, the golden age of the HGH is over. Grenade kit is not the first choice for many engineers right now. I think this is a hint that the grenades are not overpowered. More and more top player are going for FT+bomb. In the 1on1 tournament not a single engineer worked with nades.

My idea was to survive and the turret CC and make damage. But the net turret miss 80% of the time the target. Rocket turret overcharge = useless against moving targets.
This is a real problem with the turret. I have to take a kit into this build because otherwise I have no weaponswitch AND I do not benefit from crit. The turret miss all the time my opponent following me, so I die.
No mesmer phantasmal miss one single hit/shot or whatever. My turret miss all the time.

I like the idea. At the moment the sword thief is THE counter class to HGH engineer. With your screen version the engineer would be the counter class to thiefs.
Come on. Do not post the very old WvW Video, where someone recorded 1000 fights and put one ololol fight in a video. This video is not a prof, rifle is very bad.
In sPvP you fight with equal stuff not like in wvw where you fight against lvl 12 people without gear. And in this sPvP you can see that the rifle is bad.

I guess this happens more often if you play outside of the primetime. I guess the system gives you a match so you do not have to wait too long. Even if the teams do not fit
Thief from my team experienced lags (1-2s delay on skills) yesterday but only in tournament games. When he was in mists he didnt lag at all.
He did reset his router, we waited 1 hour, when reset didnt helped, but nothing changed.
Aye. I had also this lags only in tournament games.
Same for me. I play from Germany. Played with some of Hungary and Italy, they had no problems. Had some strage lags in 1 game for some minutes. Rest of the evening was fine.
The by far worst PvP I’ve ever played, which will show the whiners in here how good GW2 PvP actually is, was in SWtOR.
The Game itself and the Modes weren’t too bad and I played quite a lot (two 90+ PvP-level Chars) In fact, Huttball was one of the coolest Game-Modes ever, but now it gets absolutely ridiculous:
1) PvP was only Server-intern, so you were only able to play with Players from your Server.
2) Tons of Servers were underpopulated, which means a few months into the game, we had like 20 really active PvP-Players on our Server, which meant you were only able to play ANY KIND OF PVP, during a few hours of the day.
3) Most Game-Modes were Reps vs Imps, but there were certain Maps were Teams of the same allegiance could face each other.
4) Many Servers had much more Imps than Reps, which together with the above fact meant, that Imps were able to farm gear and play PvP during times where reps weren’t even dreaming of finding enough Players for even 1 Group.
5) Gear made a huge difference, so when the Reps were actually able to play against Imps, they got roflstomped because Imps literally were all 1 Tier higher in Gear.
6) You had to first PvE your way to a Full-level Char, which took tons of time and was extremely boring to Players that just wanted to PvP
7) There were no Server-Transfers available, so if you wanted to switch to a more Populated Server, you would’ve had to start a completely new Char.—> And this Problem existed for several Months, so I basically paid monthly costs on a game I was only interested in PvP in and wasn’t able to play PvP. It literally was a luxury of other Servers to complain about balance and stuff, because at least they actually could play PvP…. -.-°
Bad was also that you had no matchmaking, leaderboards or stuff like this. Sometimes you had to play the complete evening only against new players.
But yes, that you had to make pve to be able to play pvp was terrible.

Stop QQ please. Gw2 is awesome and the developer created nice stuff for us in the last patch and they listen to us. Of course we all want everything done in 1 month, but it needs time. But they go into right direction.
Rifle+SD is maybe ok for PvE. In PvP I have never seen a top player playing it.

To ele: This class has an unlimited choice in what role he likes to play (bunker, roamer, teamsupport). But the meta evolved and BM-Rangers, Kit-Engis and S/D thiefs bring hard counter to them. In EU for example you saw every dual-ele comp dissapearing but two or three teams.Rtl nerf almost solved that..at least you don’t get 2-3 ele teams anymore, 2 engi or 2 rangers are more common now but they’re not as stupid as 2+ eles were 1 months ago imo..
Right now i think we could say…“Play everything you like..but don’t play warrior”
