Aspect Arena is a lot of fun – mainly beause it is a team game and I prefer team stuff(of course… otherwise I would not play a MMORPG). Yeah – as mentioned at some other thread: Wind Aspect is pretty strong… I’m only using that… saw a few others also using Lightning to move fast away after getting the Crystal and Fire(Sun) seems pretty useless.

But that is not a problem… just everyone can use Air then it’s balanced ha ha.

Southsun Survival I tried a bit… but this seems boring. If you die early you can only wait for ages(cause the match seems to take long). Doing stuff while in that mist form is boring… cause you already “lost” and want the next match. And while alive looking for all the rations and arrows and stuff… not that much interesting.

What I don’t understand: Why do both – Ellen Kiel and Evon Gnashblade – want to bring this in their mini game rotation?

Yes… I understand we already have Sanctum Sprint with Aspects stuff… so maybe that’s why ANet does not want to bring also the Aspect Arena.

But then again… you could say the same for Crab Toss – a Free for All PvP activity… we would not need Southsun Survival then.

I think Ellen Kiel shout only promise Aspect Arena and Gnashblade should promise to return the Southsun Survival.

Otherwise it would not make sense… or both. Cause Aspect Arena is really good. If they want to remove one of the others then Crab Toss… nobody likes that(then we still would have the Survival that apparently a lot of people liked).

Both candidates will keep the survival game from the current descriptions.

Which is bad. They give a choice for the fractal but not a choice for the mini game and just include the boring survival game for both.

Ellen Kiel should offer “her” game… that Aspect Arena or whatever it is called – which is more fun(or give us both).

I’d also prefered if we only could do 1 meta achievement – and this should have counted as “vote” (only 1 per account). But this way they would not be able to sell those supporter packs at the BLTC. Also people would complain if they could not get both minis then(cause there are some people that want “everything” and have bought all the other minis made until now and don’t want an empty spot in their collection tab).

Is it intended that both – Kiel and Evon – are promising a mini game rotation including the survival mini game(and not that other nice and fun mini game that Kiel is hosting at the moment – she should include this in her promise).

Would be more incentive to vote for Ellen Kiel if her promise included her game… and not the survival minigame.

I also think that the lower waypoint cost is not that interesting and I don’t care about fractals(and there’ll probably both but the one that wins will be first?).

Oh. I noticed that the 25, 50 means that you need 25 or 50 guys to get silver or gold at the event medal… lol? Useless info… as if anybody cares about that. And always been wondering why there were no enemies with silver gold bag(they always turned gold when they stole something). So they always steal 500…

Tier 2 was easy at my 3rd try… when they were too many enemies later I just stayed near the point where they dropped the stolen treasure and let them move nearby and then spammed CC and killed them(the main enemies seemed to steay in mid area near the treasure pile). Only if there were 2 “runners” I moved to mid to already kill one early then running away to not get killed by the tons of mobs and finishing the other one near the “goal”.

Why are you playing the game if you dont do dungeons and other stuff? Do you use it as a chat room?

There is also WvW and sPvP that a guy like you probably never woud do… you’d only whine cause the other players are farming you and killing you all the time. Ha ha.

Tried 1st one solo. Easy. 2nd one I died… cause the NPCs died too early and also it seems this is bugged a bit at the moment? The gold npcs are stealing 500 not 50 like mentioned?

At my 2nd try at Tier 2 the allied NPC seemed to completely ignore the enemies…

Waiting for a fix on this and trying later again.

Minigame is one of the most boring minigames every made. So I’ll just ignore these achievements… and probably not getting the meta achievement completed since I also don’t do dungeons and other stuff…

but there’s still Kiel and the much more fun minigame with easier achievements.

Only doing Kiel. Since I don’t like dungeon and fractals stuff(I think one or two of the subachievements for meta achievement require you to do these) I’d need to to most of the minigame achievements.

But the survivor minigame for Gnashblade is one of the most boring minigames every made. Other minigame is much more fun(teamplay and easier achievements and less luck based).

Didn’t notice any difference – other than the different color(at least not from the preview). And I always had been wondering why the TP price was higher. I only got a lightning catcher. I hope once they remove it the price there will also go higher soon so I can sell it for 10+ gold.

Hi! Thank your for the thread and your builds. I’m fairly new to WvW and took me some time to get used to staff and hammer(when I played so far only PvE spamming some greatsword skills).

After some recommandations from here and the german forums I decided to use some modified version of the second build you posted.

Hammer(instead of greatsword) + staff. Also the Runes to give +40 boon duration(2 sup monk, 2 sup water, 2 major water).

For food I think if I’m careful I could even use more +boon duration and don’t need mango pie or other stuff.

Hammer is fun with a lot +boon duration and the cd reducing trait every 4 seconds a blast finisher – at fire fields(might) +20 seconds base duration and can go up to almost 40 lol.

Also using Hallowed Ground… for more stability or additional fire field if needed. I think this is okay for me(tried shout there also… but only shouts – 3 shouts – is a bit boring).

Edit: And mainly running with the zerg… so I don’t need greatsword for mobility and stuff. If I want to run “smaller zerg”(around 10 people) I think it is still fun and the hammer damage with might is good – also against PvE mobs in WvW map(and you can give yourself might without need of other help if needed). If I want to run smaller groups I think I go back to my engineer main to use tons of knockback stuff in small fights ha.

Hello. Thanks for the answers. For WvW I think I have found a “fun build”. I ended up with 0/0/10/30/30 after all – just needed time to get used to it. I think running with AH a bit until I got used to the hammer and staff skills(cause I only used greatswort PvE all the time and was bit slow with using skills at hammer cause not used to it) was a good idea.

Now I’m using it like the 2nd build at the first linked thread here… only hammer + staff(not greatsword + staff they use). And using 2 shouts + hallowed ground(for additional stability and a fire field). Also I like the long boon duration and have +30 from traits and the rundes to give +40(and can also use food for boon duration since I’m fine now and don’t need additional vita or toughness from food).

Starting to have fun with the hammer traited and every 4 second blast finisher and almost 40 seconds might(from base duration 20 with fire field + blast and -70-90 percent boon duration depending on the food). Gear is cleric + soldier(with +healing orbs) at trinkets(only using exotics there).

Healing Power about 1000 and with staff +sigil that can stack more healing power each kill…. at hammer the other sigil for more endurance at swapping. That was a good idea an makes sense to have the sigil that stacks healing power at staff cause you are supposed to “tag” a lot of enemies with the staff(and get credit for the kill = more sigil healing power stacks).

Maybe not 2k healing dodgereoll(at least not per 1 dodgeroll) but still good and as long as I don’t overestimate the guardian(that’s what I did all the time) it is fine… I just try to stand at the front if possible but let the high vity/high toughness guys like warrior stay there all the time and dodge around a bit and move back sometimes to prevent dying(and then throwing some staff 2 that also heals a bit and staff 4 if needed… and rezzing downed).

Okay. After a bit more trying I found one of the linked sPvP builds okay – with Hammer(for CC) and scepter+ shield for a bit ranged. But don’t like the guardian for sPvP that much(cause I play main engineer and prefer that tons of CC we can use where I even can knockback/launch guardians if I wait until stability runs out and hit first autoattack to remove aegis)). Just not that much fun to bunker at points and I don’t want to play it focused on damage(better playing another class then).

I’m back at WvW then. And in the german forums I got some recommende builds that all use hammer + staff. First I did not like the hammer but when I tried it a bit in sPvP I started to like it.

Is it possible to use Altruistic Healing in WvW? In german forums some of the pros from the top tiered servers said AH was only for PvE and recommended something like 0/0/10/30/30 or 0/0/20/30/20.

But without AH I feel like I’m dying too fast(even with all the dodgeroll heal, blocking and aegis skills). So first I did not want to use shouts… and they said “shout aoe condition remove is a must have”. So okay… I say I want to use 0/0/30/30/10 then…

where I can use shout condition remove and AH. Runes + food for boon duration(to make up for only having 10 in the last trait line).

But then they said it was not a good idea to put only 10 in last line because apparently also 15 points there for more retaliation is a must have? (they used “retratet” shout and I just thought I change this with save yourselfs which also gives me a long retaliation).

So is this okay to play with only 10 in the last trait line? At the moment for me at least it feels “okay”(I still did not have any real zerg fights… either we were too strong or the others so I could not really test). And I think I need AH to stay alive.

What are classes that are fun to play in WvW?

As main I play an engineer and like him in WvW and sPvP cause he can use a lot of knockbacks(launch) and the rifle and throwing grenades are fun.

Now I tried my 2nd char which I leveled in PvE to 80 in sPvP and WvW: The Guardian. And I found it is really boring to play Guardian in WvW. Maybe because I had too much fun with my main and that class is different… Also I’m used to more like a Sigmar Priest from Warhammer(which also can use Hammer). But the way the Guardian is played I found boring… only like giving boons to others and spamming staff for tagging enemies.

What classes are fun?
What should I try next?

I heard ele is good for support and also fun cause he has good AoE with the staff? (I think ranged AoE would be fun and the class I want to play should have a good ranged AoE)

Which has more utility in WvW ?

I play engineer as main…

just tried guardian because I wanted a bit more melee… which I noticed was totally boring(also only buffing others is boring and getting hit by melee guys that kite you where even your defensive abilities don’t help cause they are used pretty fast and then all on CD).

I’ll definitely also try the ranger in WvW which also seems like a class that can be made tanky and with a tanky pet(someone mentioned the camps – must be easy cause of a tanky pet?) Also he is ranged.

Engineer is fine. Also in small groups… they have a lot of different stuff. If you want you can have tons of knockback(or more “launch” like most of the stuff called correctly). If someone is not using stability or stun breaker you could perma CC him all by yourself(but then of course using a lot of that skills and not being able to take other stuff in that slots).

Also fun: Push a downed enemy from a hill to death by falling. Faster than finishing.

Okay. I think I will play it more without healing power – in sPvP(since there are small groups and usually you are by yourself or with 1 or 2 otherr only). I tried a bit with signets, greatsword and mace(and focus). Was okay. I’m staying a bit alive longer but still dying more often than other guardians(probably because I don’t use shield and stuff and the signets are using slots that I could use for other defensive stuff).

But it is a bit more fun. Can also use one signet to knockdown(and I keep 1 shout for stability to finish). Seems okay for sPvP to play like that and experiment a bit with other builds since it is free to change builds and gears.

But I don’t think I’ll continue to play WvW. Just staying with my engineer which is so much more fun and better at ranged and all the game is about ranged… even sPvP they try to kite me and I sometimes want to bring the scepter…

that greatsword 3 or some immobilize is okay to get closer to kiters and prevent them from running but if they are good they still can stay out of range most of the time which is annoying cause they damage me and I can do nothing and just wait until all the defensive skills are used and on CD and the health is getting low.

I will play more ranged classes in WvW instead that stay ranged most of the time(and can go a bit in melee to rezz if needed) – melee most of the time or standing at a door doesn’t seem that fun.

If I don’t want to buff others and heal others(only want to rez – other stuff is boring) then it would be better to play Warrior?

Or can Guardian also be played to do a bit damage like running into the zerg doing damage and then running a bit away to heal. (But there probably also the Warrior is better?)

Cause staying in the middle of the zerg fight all the time and taking damage a lot of time seems a bit hard to me and the blocking stuff of guardian does not seem to help that much and it seems easier with a class with higher hp that just has higher hp and can’t block.

Okay thanks. I will read some more other thread and about other builds. I also saw the mace while checking the skills and was thinking about using it(I think it has a heal symbol at one skill). But if I remember correctly there is one trait for mace which is in another trait line where I need to put trait points a bit different.

Healing and buffing seems a bit boring too me. I noticed this when I played a bit WvW… rezzing someone is fun… you see how he gets up and starts moving again and says “thanks”. But for healing and buffing others you won’t notice it…(especially with not UI if you are not playing in a party in WvW and only giving the boons to random people in zerg).

I think I’ll try chose the stuff that benefits me most(and if it also affects others I’ll take that as nice side effects)….

and just staying also with the greatsword cause I already liked it PvE. (it also has a “symbol” maybe I can use gs and mace and use symbol traits)?

Spirit Weapons I don’t want to use(also never used turrets as engineer).

What about signets? They give passive effects which is nice and seems “easy”(if you just use passive effects most of the time not using the active effect…) but the active effects seem boring and other stuff seems more useful.

Need to check the Wiki and Trait and skill list again later and trying something totally different since it probably is not that good to use much healing power if I think healing others and giving boons to them is boring(and probably I don’t need much healing power to only heal myself).

Edit: the linked PvP guide seems interesting. He mentions symbols and meditations stuff. Reading this later and trying something in sPvP.

Edit2: I just saw that guardians have a lot of signet traits… so I might try signets after all which leaves some room for not using stuff like that trait which makes shouts curing conditions.

I don’t know if I’ll continue the guardian in WvW(might switch to the next class I want to try – with more ranged again or a mix of ranged and melee and guardian seems only ranged with scepter which is boring).

I’ll definitely try to play sPvP more… but for sPvP I think I want to try another build. I think it might be better not to focus in team supporting and healing skills? (Cause in tournament max 5 people in 1 team and maybe if you go to 2 points in groups 3 / 2 you have max 2 other people near you).

For sPvP I think I want after all to try a bit more focused on damage – if this is possible. I know when I had Guardians as enemy that there are some people that can still do a good amount of damage while being able to stay alive(while using the supportive stuff like the aegis and blocking stuff). This seems interesting to me… and it might be easier than in a huge zerg fight cause if you fight only 1 or 2 enemies it seems easier to detect where the damage is incoming from and when to use the defensive skills.

Is Greatsword always recommened? I thought it was more of “damage dealing weapon” but that above healing build also has greatsword mentioned? … and I often used it in PvE already. I thought maybe there would be a use for something like hammer or other 1h-weapons + offhand. (Like always one 2handed weapon and as other set one 1h-weapon + offhand).

So far I only played my main(engineer) at sPvP and WvW… and I’m not playing it tanky. I know we are supposed to play it tanky and with condition damage but I prefer the rifle and I thought +power would be better and used this and also using the grenades with power on them.

It is fun to play like that and I also can stay alive long if others are nearby(especially in zerg fights). You can just move a bit away if needed with the movement abilities.

Now I wanted to play another class and play a bit more tanky. Is it even possible to rez at heave AoE fire? Or is this not possbile with any classes?

I tried Guardian cause it was my 2nd char I made – I played him in PvE a lot and it was more comfortable to do PvE with him than with my engineer… and I always heard it was “easier to learn”… but in WvW I died more often even though I had higher toughness and stuff(maybe cause of the low vitality – even the healing and defensive skills did not help much).

Should I go for Warrior now? Warrior probably easier to play tanky since it has higher base HP and then +toughness and even more +vitality gear?

Or should I try continue to play Guardian(seems like it needs a bit to get used to all the defensive abilities you usually don’t need in PvE at some event where you just spam greatsword attacks and heal if needed)?

Also is Healing Power useful in WvW? I think if I go for healing power it feels like I miss a lot vitality or other stuff(depending on which healing power gear I used)?

Hm… thanks. I tried this a bit. I still don’t have full exo so that’s why I did not like it that much. Or could be that it needs time to get used when you playe a ranged guy and more glass cannon all the time in the past.

But I found it a bit boring the first few hours I played. Also I died more often than with my glasscannon main char.

I think rezzing while in AC-fire still is not possible with a guardian because of it’s low HP and he can’t move while rezzing? (Is this better with Warrior? I think warrior would be the best thank regarding survivability cause he has highest HP and can be made with lots of toughness?)

Also it seems to take a lot of time to get used to all the abilities and know when to use what…. and spamming staff seems a bit boring.

I think I might go for a ranged char again and try ranger next… seems WvW is more suited for ranged… not that fun to have 100 AoE and other melee guys attacking you while you yourself are in melee.

Also: Is Healing Power really that useful? (Like in that builds) Or can you just put more points(and use gear that gives + toughness + vitality) in toughness and vitality(to max your own survivability) and use the heal abilities without any Healing Power?

Seems harder to play than I thought… from PvE he was much easier(and other classes seemed harder PvE and easier in WvW). And I always thought guardian was “easy to learn” and for beginners.

Oh… that’s were you get that kites… saw yesterday some people posting them in chat. So they did it like with the other mini pack they sent out for free last time?

And you can still buy them in the gem store? How much gems do they cost?
(And don’t say you can’t buy them in gem store – would be stupid and ArenaNet would lose money like this… I’m sure there are a lot of people that bought gems earlier but not in April-June that want to buy a kite now… or people that did not buy gems at all… they should have announced it earlier if it was exclusive so you could buy gems).

Zoom Hack in WvW

Put GW2 to window mode and resize it manually. There you got your “zoom hack” .

So this is allowed? I don’t think they would ban for this – since it is something with the game settings… if they did not want it they would have disabled windowed mode.

Now what about all the winers that whine about zoom hacking? I think they should just stop whining. Since ArenaNet is banning even for some 3rd party mouse software I think they’d automatically detect external programs to zoom hack without failure.

It probably is that the people just resized window(which is allowed) in 99 percent of these cases… so no ban.

They should just complain to ArenaNet to fix the gameplay somehow that it does not allow such stuff.

Balancing Siege Destruction Methods

Ballista the skill 4 should be on auto attack / skill 1. Or at least a skill 1 that can be aimed without selected taget… hard to use in zergs if you want to shoot through an opening but the selected target is running through and the ballista is turning in another direction and you need to switch targets.

Skill 4 should be on 1 and spammable(against players) with 3 seconds(or 2 with the mastery at level 3 and faster bolts). Skills 2 and 3 should be targetet skills against other siege units.

4 something special to unlock. Maybe knockback/launch/knockdown something. Or huge bleeding(with manually targeting and 5 bolts).

Stop complaining about free stuff! This thead is no different than the other thread where people complain when get better like with Sanctum Sprint where people complainded that did it at the beginning when there where no rewards. Nobdody forced you do do the JP. Nobody forced you to get a legendary.

Also for legendary you need other stuff like map completion(also the WvW maps). And all the other stuff also is not much skill based. I mean just farming the dungeons with a build from the internet. Farming money and buying lodestones and stuff…

And if you really wanted you could buy the legendary directly from TP(and convert real money into gems and then gems into gold – getting legendary without ever having played GW2… a new account and new level 1 char could do this).

I’m sure we will get more badges. Every chest at 500 AP gives 100 badges. Every chest at 1000 AP gives 200 badges. We should have 600 now? Multiples of 2500 and 5000 have special chests with 2500 better then the 1000 ones… and 5000 probably much much better(only 2 times so far… at 5k and 10k… at least wiki does not know if they will continue this to 15k, …)

Really more interested in the contents of those chests than in the other stuff lol(other stuff you already know from Wiki… and don’t like the weapon skins… only radiant shoulders and hand skin interesting for me. Glad I have 6.5k AP and don’t want the helm).

If you have too many badges and still need gear on an Alt you could buy cheaper armor(if you can use the stats – badges + about 1 gold only per exo piece). Or just buy siege blueprints… they now can be traded at the TP.

I have to say great job taking our(UW) keep at EB, FSP. Just logged in and wanted to do the JP so I can do only EB later after reset.

But seems our server only farming somewhere else on that map? I don’t know. This time we had queue. Short queue but queue. And like only 30 of us vs. 80 of your server at our keep.

Doing PvE(I want to complete story and map complete Orr with a 2nd char finally and then get that char ready for WvW as 2nd char) cause the last day at WvW seems not that interesting. Then JP daily at reset later lol.

Hi, playing a Guardian as 2nd char but I’m not playing dungeons and I mainly do Open World PvE, sPvP and WvW. sPvP and WvW so far only with my main.

Since I leveled char slots 2-5 like this:
10 level with char 2, then 10 level with char 3, … until all have +10 levels
then again 10 level char 2, 10 level char 3

I never played the guardian that much without break. And only played PvE with greatsword spamming and power focused.

For WvW I want to make it real bunker or heal(if worth… I hear even Warrior is better healer? or Ele) and support. sPvP maybe the same.

What is recommended(traits, weapons, skills, armor and stuff)? I know I can look for builds in sticked threads but I thougt I’d just make another thread cause everyone is making new threads like this.

At the moment between 75-80 level and I want to map complete Orr and finish personal story – then moving and play WvW / sPvP and sometimes back to PvE to complete a few other maps(I want world completion with all 8 classes / chars – long term goal).

Also if possible I want to use armor from WvW vendor cause it is cheaper with coins + badges(I don’t play dungeons to farm money)… but I can afford to buy jewelry stuff from TP or craft it since I’m still saving a bit money from my main that is completele geared up(and there seems only Soldier stats at the WvW vendor for jewelry).

Weapon I heard staff is good for tagging a lot of enemies? (Also Line of Warding for WvW?) What other weapons? Is Sword possibe? (Got the AP reward weapon skin for 1h sword cause my main is engineer and I don’t like that rifle skins…)

I’m still not at the inreased range(will be next one I get). Also I’m not often using sieges… but the guard and other stuff seems better suited for a bunker char(which I’m trying soon as 2nd char once finished the PvE stuff).

And yeah… the interesting stuff at those guard killer and defending stuff seems only at the highest levels which means al ot of points.

I know some commanders at our server sometimes go with a few people to kill other sieges at the enemy keep with Ballista… I think for example at Anza Hill against sieges at keep. Maybe the range will help there + the a few building speed increase so you can fast build and attack(cause they shoot back because they also have long range… if everything fails they just treb lol with longest range).

Still need to try sieging a bit more. I will try more Ballista soon because I’m getting them often from JP(and they are cheap if needed to buy more).

Only a couple of Zenith weapons? O.o

Apparently(and wiki authors already seem to know more about the later rewards) the multiples of 1000 and 2000 give a Zenith weapon and the multiples of 3000(3k, 6k, 9k) give an armor skin.

Hoping for 1 french and 1 german server. This is always the best. Not too much wine at forums and more playing instead of forum whoring cause usually most stay at their language forums.

Against FSP thread started good… but that was only at the start of the thread… (they really could remove all matchup-threads and the sub forum).

I’d suggest for some of the guilds to move to Underworld. We still need more players and we are having balanced matchups often… at least the recent ones. Of course a lot stronger and a lot weaker servers in matchup still possible…

I don’t understand, if they’re allowed to spam their signature moves, why can’t we?

I know they want them to be harder… but just a better AI or more HP would have been enough(or maybe other tweaks like him doing more damage).

Signature moves should work the same for us and the NPCs(maybe the ones of the NPCs a bit stronger): We both should be able to use them more than once… but not unlimited(maybe like every X turn… or some other condition like drinking to recharge them up again).

This also would make the game against other players more fun.

… or let NPC use unlimited of his only one buff… but let us use all buffs – each 1 time(up to the Norn we should have 4 if we beat all the others).

What should I level first. At the moment with my main I’m not going for the +x percent guard damage or siege damage recude(I want to do this on a 2nd char later as starting skills and make that char more bunkerish).

Sieges I’m not that good with stuff like Treb and Mortar. Don’t want this. Supply and repair stuff seems not that interesting.

For siege I think AC is easy to aim… but I’m getting a lot of Ballistas from JP and chest drops(more than AC). Also the 4 skill is nice… other a bit hard maybe to target in a zerg(but okay as long as you get the right direction cause it pierces and hits more people).

Cannon I found nice while defending but it usually gets AoE by a lot of enemies.

So if I’m not bunker with my main should I still go for cannon(which is often used by other chars and limited cause in fixed places)? Are a lot of people going for cannon(might still be worth if not many are getting this)?

If not then I might stay AC/Ballista… at the moment AC 2, Ballista 3 are my only WvW skills. Ballista 3 seems a huge improvement of the Ballista skill 1. Every 2 seconds instead of 3(I added this to the wiki cause it was not there – different skill name then):

Thanks. The only thing I did not know was the huge shortcut at the end near 3:20. Other stuff seemed obvious and only about improving your movement and the order and choice of stuff you pic up.

So ANet agrees Skyhammer is not a tPvP map.

Nice. Hopefully they don’t abandon it but make viable changes to balance it more.

Sure they will make changes… but first in 4 months we will see another new map(that gets removed from tournament rotation then)… maybe Spirit Watch will be back wich changes?(and maybe it will fail again).

Surely Skyhammer won’t be back in 4 months when a new map fails… cause Spirit Watch was not back months later when Skyhammer got released.

I never use AoE skills in sPvP cause it is only 5 vs. 5(not playing hotjoin, only tournament) where you usually have all the 5 at one spot. And if… then they certainly are not that stupid to let themselves being farmed by AoE.

Only use for AoE is against Necro minions(Mesmer clones die too fast against normal attacks and other classes don’t have enough pets).

Skyhammer is out, but how did this happen?

And in a few months: New map -> tournament -> whine -> they take it out of rotation.
This way we will get more and more hotjoin maps.

ArenaNet is mainly focused on developing hotjoin maps taking their devs time and resources and wasting them on this crap for months.

I stronly suggest to fix the problem… I already posted in other threads and in the pinned tournament rotation thread.

I really hope they are not making just another map until they get “lucky” and get one that is accepted by everyone.

They should fix the system… how the game is played. More queues… and stuff. That would fix a lot.

They will turn themselves into the laughingstock of the whole internet gaming community should they release another map that gets removed from rotation(and not even fixing and bringing other maps back or changing the system so there are more queus).

The fact that A-Net needed 4 MONTHS to create this map is just… wow, I can’t find words for this. Other developers create 10 maps in 4 months. wtf is wrong here?

Yes… instead of doing useful stuff they waste 4 months of time on this… and I hope they won’t continue. Much other stuff to fix… and they still have 2 maps not playable(not talking about Capricorn that is really bullkitten). They should let us play them first – by adding other queues. Instead of making more maps for the trash can.

2-Team Tournament Map Rotation

Any news on when we will get different queues for each map or when Skyhammer and Spirit Watch will be back? I hope it will still happen this year. Would be megafail to make 2 new maps and only being able to play them in hotjoin.

I think there have been enough suggestions – even if you don’t want to make queue/each map cause of waiting time there could be “unranked matches”(to replace the usual hotjoin and there only CAs left) and then a pool of tournament-ready maps used at ranked matches(that what we call tournament atm) and at a 2nd unranked queue. Also a 3rd queue only unranked with rotation between the “not ready for tournament” maps… so we are not forced to hotjoin them.

Pretty much nobody will care about Spirit Watch and Skyhammer anymore from today as long as they don’t come back(seriously who is playing hotjoin? Even the CAs that are bought from pro teams to train for tournament are not playing this map…. cause it is not in tournament).

I stronly suggest to implement a solution and not ignore it completely…. and bringing another nex map in a few months that gets removed from rotation until we get more and more hotjoin maps only(where you could just save the time developing them).

Thanks for taking out Skyhammer. Competitive teams can play again now.

They could also play before… just waiting a few days cause there is a rotation and not 24/7 the whole year Skyhammer.

Often there are complaints about BL being boring – also the crafting stuff there is to low level. Upgrade it to Mithril-level(with 1 or 2 rare Ori / and same tier materials for other crafting stuff).

Also maybe add a few quarz nodes. Would be nice. There is still tons of quarz at the market and even once the event is over because of the home instance and maybe not everyone getting celestial gear there will be supply.

But a few more nodes… something special for WvW. That would be nice(most wouldn’t go only there to farm them cause it is just easier to TP buy them so it is only a nice addition for people already playing WvW).

Well that’s not your problem. You should play the game for fun. If you have fun doing the hard stuff then okay. Then you should not have fun cause you have a achievement that is hard to earn(and complain because others get it in an easier way) but because you had fun doing the hard stuff.

It’s not like there is a real value to the achievement itself – you can’t sell it. And it is not losing selling value if people get it easier.

Make thread and do some ultra hard stuff where no achievements exist and post screens or videos if you want stuff not many others do.

Achievements: Most of people ware “completionists” and want all the achievements. That’s just how it is. The “value” of the achivement to me is only that it fills the slot and looking colored and not greyed out… cause it does not look good(I think they even made it so some achievements that you can’t obtain anymore don’t even get displayed anymore – which is nice for the looks… no grey stuff you can’t get anymore… cause they know it is important for the majority).

Are this all skill challenges you can commune with(including the ones in WvW)? Or only certain skill challenges you commune with that are named with something like “place of power” in their name(don’t know if all commune ones have “place of power” in their name)?

Also is there a Place of Power at Labyrinthine Cliffs? Someone mentioned something in map chat… but I did not find it. Also there is no skill point at that map.

Did not have problems with the others. Took me still a few tries… but at least you get them often to low health(even if you also are at low health).

Only problem was Norn where I used food cause he has much more HP and is getting boring fast and often you don’t get him low. And Grandmaster also seemed harder but I did not really try cause I had still had food buff from Norn(also did not know what his buff does cause I did not read Dulfy) and just used something until I won.

I will definitely try the Norn and Grandmaster again(with only the signature moves you could have without having beat them) later… if he is still hard at the moment I hope they are fixing more. Want to beat him without food. Grandmaster also will be permanent? (And maybe in LA later and only the achieve temporary cause it says you have to beat him while he is at the Bazaar?)

How many quarz nodes?

I don’t think I want it… at least not for every char. Most chars specialized stuff instead of something with all stats but smaller +x.

And with the limitation at making 1 charged quarz/day(which is account bound) it seems not worth to mine all the nodes. Since you can just buy cheap quarz(cause it also drops everywhere) at the TP… even running Sanctum Sprint gives 10 silver + a bit quarz(and you can buy 10 more with the silver).

Only seems worth cause there can drop charged quarz from a node… but I only heard this from the node in the home instance so far(if you are lucky – rare chance). And someone said it was also possible for it to drop at Sanctum Sprint. So Sprint seems faster/more fun.

Of course if I want to save WP and walk up to Zephyr Sanctum I get the ones on the way up… but not for example the one I saw down where you need to get skill 3 and then near the beginning(was near 1 sky crystal)… that really seems not worth the time.

Most only complete the achievements because they are “completionists” – that’s why a lot of people for example are complaining about achievements being in WvW(or ultrahard dungeons).

Especially if then there are 2 achivements missing(a meta also counting the kites or last time the caches if you don’t get the one in WvW).

If you want real achievements do some stuff not rewarded with an ingame “achievement” and make a thread with screenshot or video… like the guys getting higher and higer at Sanctum even when not needed to get the goggles.

Even if you are not that good you can get 1st. Not that hard as Crab Toss which was pure PvP. Here it seems you still can get lucky. I got a “real” win yesterday(full match not only 2-3 players). I was good enough to be 4th or 3rd all often… sometimes I made little mistakes at the map for example when it switched from skill3 to 1 falling down or losing a second… but you get to know the map.

And I don’t know shortcuts(other than the last skill or some jump that saves a small little bit – not bigger shortcuts).

But managed to get 1st then. And since it seems the rewards for 1st are not that much bigger…

It is okay as it is. I’d like to see this permanent… instead of boring Belchers Bluff… still need to try that Norn without food buff.
