guild wars is a name from its lore, not from game mode
main problem are tournaments, thats the worst main mode i have ever see…
but lets give ANet a chance and wait until they implement rating…
but seriously, im afraid tournaments + rating will be epic fail if they implement it this way :/ GW2 just dont have enough SPVP players to get this work, even now, paids are almost unplayable and frees are closer and closer to “prime time only” mode

downed state is good, its fun, second chance against nukers and promotes team play, because being able to revive your mate in middle of fight is sometimes crucial
i think it could be worse… and i agree with ANets opinion of bringing bunkers/bursters more in line
so im quite optimistic in balance issues and the way where is game going
balance around XvX had its point in WoW, where it was XvX deathmatch and X players were always here to do their job… but in conquest, most fights are YvY where Y is anything between 1 and 5 with 5 having very low chance… so the game CANT be balanced around 5v5 imo because almost no fights are really 5v5… its big difference between 5v5 and 5 times 1v1
i like GW2 PVP… i would rate it maybe 6/10, if they add some key features (i hope its comming in jan/feb patches) and bring bunkers and bursters a bit more in line with other builds (already said they will do), it will be 9/10
and more maps/modes for the last think i miss here :P
L2P issue is only in deciding which clone is real, thats not the real problem of mesmer…
their incredible burst even when they are very defensive prof (even when full glass canon build) in its core is another part of story…
and dont need to mention portal…
It’s worth noting that staff is a weapon with more of a support twist then the others while still being heavy on long range AoE.
and this is the problem imo…
at first, they announced it like fire will be aoe dmg, air single target dmg, water support/control and earth support/defense or something like that… now it is absolutely not true, maybe some of that on some weapons, but definitely not true overall… im not sure if its good or not…
main problem is that ele e.g. in water have very low dmg, why? ofc it should have lower dps, because half of skills are support or control, but why other skills are crap dmg too? if you have 2 skills to deal dmg its already lower dps then with 5 skills, why make even these 2 almost useless? it doesnt seems to be fair to me…

damaged armor doesnt mean a difference untill it is red

i hope they will give more glory for higher rating matches when rating will come to the game, to make a difference between winning at newbie zone and at top zone, because i dont think they will make different rewards…
anyway, there are still too many questions about ratings and ladder to make decisions…
have you even tried it? its sometimes not good enough to use in PvE, especialy if skills have any cast time… if you are owned by someone standing and using autoface against you in PvP, you are probably very bad…
as long as GW1 still isnt free, i really doubt they will make GW2 free

i disagree with 10v10 CTF… its like wtf? even 8v8 conquest was too zergy, i dont even try to imagine if it would be 10v10 with only 1 or 2 points to focus (flags) instead of 3…
how many average online members during peak times? my guild got 100+ members too, but with average 20-25 people online you cant get big activity :/

Well from my personal experience Elementalists arent such popular class. Yes we have more players than engies,rangers or necros but i see way more people playing thiefs,warrios and mesmers than i see playing elementalists. Just my observation thou

No! Don’t even consider undoing this change. The point of only having certain utility/weapon slots, to me, is because your supposed to be limited to your selected build.

Well, let me explain something. This is not your game. It’s ours. Please do not generalise.
That’s a healthy change that enables us to actually prepare team builds as well as encourages balanced teams. It shifts the game from ’who’s got portal, who’s got ele to nuke treb, who’s got thief to solo Lord’ into ’who’s got the most universal team build, the team that can win no matter the odds’.
If things don’t work out well, this can always be changed back.
But you discrediting it from the start, proclaiming yourself a voice of top pvpers (like the game was being developed only around you) and ‘requesting top players’ to agree with you is just unbelievable. Please don’t force elitism on Guild Wars 2.

still its a lot about money, as said, they cant give us EVERYTHING for free, we are playing buy2play game, we must count that some work will be needed if we dont want to pay more
or just pay for gems, get gold and buy three dyes which you want from auction on every your character, problem solved… this is bussiness and you dont need colors to play the game, so its definitely fine and only cosmetic thing for money… or play PvE and get gold from it :P

i agree with quickness but everything else what you say is just silly… yes, some skills are better then others, but it is VERY SITUATIONAL… and safestomps? hmm, from what you say, i see problem only on Necro, thats not a big imbalance, just Necro being underpowered in that way, oh wait, he have that well which gives blind in aoe over time, it can be sometimes very good to stomp more ppl at once in team fight then other abilities
sPvP unidentified dyes are account bound….. PvE unidentified dyes can obviously be purchased/sold on the TP.

1) you use same dyes in both PVP and PVE
2) you can earn dyes in both PVP and PVE
3) you can take dyes from one part of the game to another one
how are SPVP dyes different from PVE dyes please?

blind is very strong thing
and some abilities can be even casted in midcast so you blind right before he want to stop you, not before you stomp :P
i would like to see changes on many things… the ones that are generally bad, the ones that are generally over the top, not just classes overall, but bad traits, bad weapons, op skills etc… to make everything usefull and more balanced, more build diversity to everyone

because getting some PvE sets is much harder then same sets in PvP (and vice versa ofc)… how it would be fair to brag about you being awesome when you did almost nothing for it?
and if you add showing PvP items as town clothes in PvE, what would PvErs get in PvP? same old town clothes? but they worked so hard in PvE for these sets, why they must stay in HotM with a poor default set?
this is just a bad idea… if you want it, earn it… this game took so much farm out of it and you can get everything quite fast (except very high rank in PvP or legendaries in PvE), so dont cry and do something for it

me too, but srsly, how many skills on Scepter are almost useless? it really needs some changes… at least water 1 and 2, earth 2 and 3, maybe air 1 and fire 1
and just a little bit reduced delay on Dragons Tooth would be nice, its enough we would need 1 control to hit it, but now? we need to use 2 controls and its still not guaranteed hit… :/ or make it ground targeted like Phoenix, not enemy targeted
everyone have some way how to defend self when stomping someone… you can use stability, blind, invulnerability, stealth, block etc…

swords = hot join browser
northern fist = npc of all professions so you can learn their basic skills, not many, but at least you can try it
trophy = tournament browser, when you learn to play a bit, you can try to play tournaments (free tournaments doesnt require full group, just submit roster with only your sig)
this isnt a big problem, its just a hot join, its supposed to be more for fun mode, like some hot join fps servers
if you want serious games, go play tournaments
but tournaments suffer from absence of rating, but its on the work, so we must wait till big january patch probably
traps are not only one problem, i as ele placed Lava Font (aoe dmg over time), got blind and Lava Font got miss instead of me
this needs to be fixed…
this is what im scared of too… combination of quite small player base, rating and 40 players to one “game” doesnt seems to be the right way to go… i would really like to hear something about this from ANet… if they will be silent until they will be done, it can ruin the last chance of SPVP to wake up…
get more defensive gear → learn to play with it → get more offensive gear → profit
soldiers amulet + berserkers jewel is a good start imo
