Guess what, life is unfair, deal with it. I’ve played 2K+ hours, alot of it doing World Boss Train and dungeons and I’ve never got a precursor, let alone found an item that was worth more than 7g.
I have a friend who has played the same amount as me, but he has found 4 precursors. Mjolnir which is an item that is worth 1K Gold +, a +15 agony infusion.
However sometimes that is just the way it is, just like we are here in NA enjoying playing GW2 while there are starving children in Africa.
Just don’t count on getting really amazing drops and work for your stuff. Doing a couple dungeon runs a day, Champ/WBT trains for 1-2 hours a day and you will be making money and before you know it you will have enough for a pre. Just know that a lot of people are in the same boat as you are.
Why Necro the thread? Did you just feel like spreading hate and wanted to minimize the risk that someone would respond?
I don’t get that either… there was no point at all.. also I call bullkitten on their friend since mjolnirs don’t even drop, they’re crafted.
if i remember correctly wasn’t Mr sparkles only was given to the folks that went to an event ? so now anet gave us a chance to get it and people complaining…
Not complaining about getting it they’re complaining they don’t understand the difference between conversion and purchase.
I want to ply full cleric heal Guard and be just as viable as full Berserk Warrior.
You can play the way you want to, but that doesn’t mean there’s balance.
And it doesn’t necessarily have to be balanced but there should be more viability to builds like cleric guardians or condition… anything. I would like to play something defensive or supportive as a change of pace and still feel like I’m contributing to something and not dragging a group down by lack of dps.
The awfulness of trying to read and understand what the OP said is about to give me a migraine… seriously… complaining about getting something for free and threatening to sue over non-existant consumer based laws is hilarious… I just wish it didn’t hurt so much to try to read.
I think it was only a matter of time before this happened and anyone who is familiar with the gw1 game would have seen it coming a mile away, they changed the meta frequently and in any case this is long over due. People shouldn’t be running all the same thing, it makes sense that zerker would be optimal for warriors or even thieves but it makes no sense for them to make that the most viable option for every class (makes no sense to have full zerk squishies but maybe that’s just me), that it looks lazy and it IS boring. Its about time it was addressed IMO.
Back on topic, yes I believe its possible they just need each class to have benefits from running types of builds like to give guardians less dps and make them more viable defenders… there doesn’t need to be a trinity but there should be equally viable and necessary defensive and offensive classes… again just my opinion though.

I thought that was the general concept for the transmutation splitters wasn’kitten
Sounds like a personal problem, I hope you can get used to timed events.
This… and you realize you could just play without the timers and not try to ruin everyone else’s day who only has an hour or 2 max a day to get on and needs to optimize their routine.
I only use the keyboard for skills and typing. I have loot, auto run, dodge, hero, guild, tp, inventory, wvw, friends list, pet swap, options and log off all bound to the side panel of my g600 mouse so I can lean back and do almost anything but talk without the hindrance of a keyboard.
yep people are gonna cry about it and anet isn’t going to do anything about it. And you know why? Because the petulant people throwing a fit over ascended armor, once removed, in about 30 seconds will start crying over something else… so what’s the point in fixing something if all the complainers are going to do is find something else to complain about?
Why the hell did they want you to stop reviving the downed npcs? Is there any form of exploit with that? All I can see is the (area’s level x 0.25%) xp you get by reviving an npc. It’s interesting but not much.
That’s why I’m really interested as to where this happened at, like if somehow rez’ing the npcs was interfering with them farming or something..
“F” is for friends that do stuff together
“U” is for you and me
“N” is for anywhere and any time at all…
DOWN HERE IN THE DEEP BLUE SEAAAAAAA!!!… you beat me to it :/ but back to the OP. Fun I think is challenging content that doesn’t take forever… example of where this went wrong.. they tried to make maw and warm more challenging when there is zero new challenge to them all they did was make them take 10x as long to kill which isn’t challenging its just extremely annoying. Add some new mechanics, skills, whatever must be done just stop making everything take way longer to kill because time != challenge. A better example is fire ele where they added new challenge and didn’t make it into an ungodly long tankfest
How about a normal trade like in ALL the other MMos Anet?
Oh, you mean so that we will see a MASSIVE increase of scams?
do you even know what a normal trade feature is?
Yep and lots of items have the same in game icon so when someone doesn’t souble or triple check the transaction we will have just as many players crying scammer then too… not to mention the inflation it would cause in the prices of things without the tp as a gold sink.
sure the TP is the only gold sink in the game right? Waypoints Ascended gear etc
The TP is a major…major gold sink in this game. I don’t think the devs would know where to sink gold fast enough without it. It is the only reason I can see why they allow such unregulated activity using it vs shutting down everything else in the game that is remotely out of sync. It is so far left field in terms of this that it’s ability to sink is the only way to justify it….I guess.
If you need justification for it just remember sitting for days in kamadan spamming the same thing trying to sell or buy something… its nice avoiding that and all the added chat spam.
“In the months that follow” could be next patch, could be in a patch in may. They left themselves a ton of wiggle room there.

I feel ascended armor is more for the people who have kind of run out of things to do and want to make a set for kittens and giggles. At least that’s why I made my set. It was either that or work on my 5th legendary which I’m sick of doing anyways and want to wait for a new set of legendaries to come out to work on.
Pretty much why I did it. Theres no legendaries (or commonaries as I like to call them) that I’m interested in because everyone and their grandma has a few it seems so I made that set since I had about 90% of the mats laying around already and figured what else am I gonna spend it on since I already have 2 gifts of mastery and fortune waiting for something adequate to use them on and all my alts all geared out… its just something for people with nothing else to do and a lot of mats or money to kitten around with or for those who like working towards something kinda excessive for the sake of being excessive.

There are 5 level 1-15 areas one outside each races main city I would suggest jumping between all those which will help you level up. Also buy new equipment every 5 or so levels starting at 10, its not a huge difference but does help as well
Thanks, I’ve heard that. How do I get to another zone? Sorry for the noob questions.
It dependa on the city but look around for a pink portal looking icon on your mini map and go through that it will take you to lions arch which is the major hub city in gw2 and when you map in there through the portal there will be 4 other portals around you to take you to the other cities
Instance != map. They should on the otherhand change the tip to OPEN WORLD PvE maps because some people, and I’m sure there are many more other than yourself that struggle to differ between open world pve and closed pve (instances) and it being called closed because you cannot access the full map of that area from that instance.

Don’t need more tiers but a MF recipe to upgrade lessendaries to ascended stats I think would be a good thing
Not to mention those who craft everyday to stockpile in speculation of legendary armor needing damask as well and also the light of dwayna seems very popular
That’s really not a bug though, just pure dumb luck, I spent almost 800g on my first forged pre and on the same day had a friend get one within his first 10-15 attempts.. some are just luckier than others it seems.
I salvaged 36 pieces
Found your problem, bro. Add a couple of zeros and then come back.
Yeah, because you can guarantee that my drop rate will sudenly jump up to 1.0+, right?
I can’t guarantee squat, but I will tell you that anecdotal evidence is almost as useless as making a complaint thread based on nonexistent sample size.
yes he did make a compaint thread but he is looking for answers so he can decide on what to do in the future with regards to salvaging.
he acknowledged that his sample size was very small.
what should he do? just remain silent?
I’ve learned a great deal about the game from reading the forums and have got useful knowledge from reading many “complaint threads”.
He’s complaining about an issue that will affect his immediate future decisions in-game. You’re complaining about him… and I’m complaining about you complaining about him… I’m going to go play Guild Wars 2 now.
Happy New Year everyone!
Yeah while the ridicule was unnecessary there is at least 1-2 of these threads every week with someone that is citing like a 50 salvage sample and claiming low numbers so you also gotta understand the frustration your frequent forum goer has with the frequent spawning of such threads. Back to the topic at hand, no there’s been no stealth nerf, a good thing to look for if there was would be a spike in the ecto prices because the market is constantly being flooded with them and just as fast they get sucked out… so if they started flowing in less frequently even if players didn’t realize it, then it would cause a bit of a spike in the price.
It may appear to look as thou this is a qq thread but it’s not my intention,
The devs look like really nice peeps and im sure they are, they just have a nice way about them and i like them, i wonder thou what actually happened with gw2.Things from the manifesto are quite the opposite, grind for example, i am sure the devs have been asked this before but idk, why the change? what happened? was it necessary? was the manifesto a ideal to strive for but in reality not really possible?
Does anyone have any links to the devs explaining why the game isn’t like the manifesto?
Again this isn’t a qq thread, i guess they had to make these changes but id like to know why.
Its because things just change to suit what their customer base needs(NOT WANTS… NEEDS… I cant stress that enough cause quite obviously we havent gotten entirely what we want but we got what we NEED to keep us logging in every day). The manifesto is several years old… things came up… whatever they did they did for what in their opinion was best for the entire playerbase not just the vocal few who still even remember there was such a ridiculous manifesto made… like just reading it makes me laugh at this point to think they ever thought they could accomplish everything in there in that exact way. If there was no grind, no timegating, no blah blah blah people would leave in more droves than they already do because there would be even less to do on a daily basis. And while people seem to dislike it, fact of the matter is all things being equal without dailies and timegated stuff there would be a lot less people on all the time.

0-200g – Poor (50%)
200g-1500g – Average/Middle Class (25%)
1500g-3000g – Wealthy (15%)
3000g-10000g – Rich (9%)
10000g+ – upper 1%
(Note: We aren’t just discussing forum population which is a very small fraction of actual in game players… I am taking into account EVERYONE from the person who has just put their first hour into gw2 to someone who has put 5k hours in)

Pretty sure that any armor in the game barring ascended armor will be much cheaper to just replace than spending (last I checked) 125g on 6 trans splitters then another like 15-20g on crystals
I was taken out because there was no point in doing events. You got karma so fast anyways that there was no incentive to do DEs.
Even with it being the “primary” way to acquire karma now its still not even close to the incentive one needs to do random events… you get twice as much karma just as fast doing activities like sanctum sprint and collecting the karma from that.
Level 80 rares and a few exotics here and there and I’m not sure how many tries exactly but I would venture to say about 350 as I spent about 800g on the forgables
If you don’t want extremely lucrative farms and just want some mindnumbing good ol fashioned repetitive easy farming this is absolutely the game for you
Likely just players that do not know how to switch targets or just are not paying attention.
Crab toss is one of my favorite activities along with sanctum sprint. I usually play pretty high and I never use any of the weapons other than karka egg or the horn.
Yeah more than likely people used to auto targeting and hitting you by mistake cause you’re likely the one with the crab most often if you’re that good… but also if you’re that good then its time you learn to adapt, that’s what separates good players from great is their ability to adapt and overcome new obstacles and challenges.
I think its kinda pointless without having your full range of skills or any traits to be having dungeons below level 30… it takes hardly any time or effort to get to level 35 (maybe a week?) for AC and a few runs thru you’re leveled up for a different dungeon… and if they haven’t found out about dodging and combos from looking thru the command list at keys or actually reading their skills then its a good time to learn because while everything in the game is easy you really make it a lot harder on yourself not using those mechanics just because you don’t need em for the first 20 levels or so and I doubt you’d get any better rewards in a super low level dungeon like that then you would in open world pve so forgive me if it seems a bit pointless.
I’m sure at some point you’ll be able to make more use for it than some of the other junk that clogs everyone’s inventories
They have done nothing to make undesired Ascended rings desirable for over a year. What makes you think they’ll change their minds now?
IMO the protest value of destroying the gear is worth more than some future possibility that it may be of some value.
Disclaimer: I destroyed thousands of Bloodstone dust before they nerfed its droprate. So destroy at your own risk
(Then again, perhaps my destroying the dust helped push Anet towards action on the dust issue.)
I’m not saying they’ll let em swap stats or whatever but witg things being nerfed and buffed if they ever truly wanted to introduce a new meta which most are begging for then other stat options will be more viable or if they make something down the line that makes use of rampager stats… they aren’t that bad of stats honestly… and no sense in keeping around junk like tonics and killstreak boosters and stuff like that when you have something that MAY be useful at some point… also rings are ridiculously abundant and can be acquired for free via relics or laurels.. unlike the armor. ’
Also out of curiosity what makes you think they’ll even pay attention to someone desteoying an item in game? There’s no protest value to any protest if no one sees it and I’m sure they don’t have some fat pimpled up nerd sitting staring at a screen 24 /7 waiting to see if some one throws a fit like a petulant child at christmas who didn’t get the proper colored iphone 5c and destroys it. They don’t care that much haha

It may not be smart to sell the pres though considering how many mats are needed for ascended weapons it REALLY wouldn’t surprise me that crafting a pre would involve components costing a total of a half a stack of each t6, a lot of ori and ancient wood and other things… it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see that crafting a pre will cost several hundred gold because they already said they don’t want to ruin the current pre market and the only way to have them maintain value is to make it cost an arm and a leg to craft… which follows their trend of cradting recently too… so if you get the pre you WANT to use don’t sell it in hopes of easy money and to be able to craft it real easy soon… they won’t let pres be easy or cheap to acquire its too contradictory to the way they CURRENTLY run operations.
Doesn’t take more than one person to put up a couple of hundred thousand buy orders at 4c.
Imo there should be a limit put into place to curtail activities such as this. Really who needs several hundred thousand of anything? There is only one reason for it and that is to play the only non restricted aspect of the game and profit from it in a way that no other avenue allows. I wonder why………….
I’ve been saying for ages now they need a volume limit for traders on the TP. The daytrading aspect has picked up with so many people imposing a limit gives newer players a better chance to make a little money on the tp and limit those with tens of thousands of gold from making ridiculous amounts and crowding up markets with their excessive amount of money.
The gem price for real currency has been stable since launch.
This… it didn’t just shoot up from 50s to 9g in one day… it took a year of it slowly progressing up that high with not seeing a spike of larger than a gold or 2… over the course of a year where they just hand out gold by the bag full now to everyone it just makes it appear less stable to the untrained eye.
You are right. There are so many gold sinks that this item would not break anything.
That is why gold is worth so little right now … right? Oh wait, no. There are lots, but only the TP is any good at it.
Correct… anet needs to just design up some fancy skins, give em to an npc for 50-100g each as opposed to put them on the gemstore for 800 gems… they need larger more appealing gold sinks.
When you go to see the 2nd hobbit movie and confuse many of the areas in said movie for jumping puzzles or the cliffside fractal.
That’s why you just save it until you need the space. Have a hierarchy and get rid of what you don’t want first/can’t use first. Your first thought shouldn’t be “I need to buy more bank space” it should be “what can I get rid of”. Y’all are pack rats, but you don’t need to toss things willy-nilly either.
Save it until you need the space or you can change the stats.
This… would be ridiculous to toss this when there’s probably random tonics or garbage boosters clogging up part of your bank you can get rid of to stash this. And want it or not I’m sure at some point you’ll be able to make more use for it than some of the other junk that clogs everyone’s inventories… it doesn’t make sense to just throw it out.
Is bloodstone too high or is dragonite and stars too low.
This… all 3 should drop from champ bags… mostly cause I’m lazy and hate dungeons
Easy easy choice… craft it… don’t equip til new legendaries come out .. if you like the new ones sell the eternity and get the new one… I’m sure if you can afford to craft an eternity you can afford to make a weapon to take its place for a couple months if this whole idea is really wearing on you a lot.
On my phone atm but basically I set up the side pannel as num1-0 then f11 and f12 for 11 and 12 then set num 1-0 accordingly… interact, auto run, dodge, hero pannel, guild tab, bltp, inventory, wvw, friends list, and ranger pet menu. And the rest is fairly standard… I know most like to put skills and stuff on there so they don’t need a keyboard but I find ots much nicer to have all your utility menus and stuff like that right at hand.
As they said the ssd is a great investment I can run gw2 on both my computers in my room of similar specs and the one with the ssd can load lions arch almost 4 times before the one with the hdd can load it once
Probably because of declining sales and wanting to make the gem store a little cleaner looking without AS much fluff
Also, the whole agony thing, that’s really very dull idea and mechanic. It kinda yells: “We don’t want to impress you with something meaningful, just want to make this harder”.
That’s why I said “one of” the mechanics.. I’m sure they would do various environmental effects, etc.. but that’s beyond the point I was trying to make so I didn’t feel the need to include that.
Well, imho, agony should have never been implemented in-game, as well as the whole ascended crap.
There’s much more ways how to make a new content challenging and rewarding as well, and this is not the right way to do it, and it totally denies the whole idea of what the devs proclaimed before the release.
So I’m going to take that as you wouldn’t be more receptive and that would put a major damper on your hard moding experiences then

I was just having a discussion with a friend of mine about ascended gear and it had me wondering… If anet were to implement a hard mode and use agony as one of the added features making it into a “hard mode” would people’s reception of ascended gear (armor mainly) have been any more welcomed? and would the concept then of a hard mode be less accepted especially by those who have been requesting it?
You didn’t miss much.
And it did say “fractal fortnight.”
As I mentioned in another thread. That word isn’t part of the average American’s vocabulary. :o
If people don’t know what a fortnight is then they aren’t old enough to be playing this game… that’s like 2nd grade stuff there.
6. Thieves would not be called thieves, because that’s a stupid name.
+1 for that… I thought that was a ridiculous name for them since I started playing and rolled my first character as a thief and quickly realized I wasn’t stealing anything… should be assassin like in gw1 with as much as they are stealthed or “squishy backstabber” .. something that ya’know… represents what they really are more.
Ill support player collision all day so long as they give me personally a special skill that can knock players out of my way… since that won’t happen I gotta say I’m not a fan.. especially remembering all the droks runs getting bodyblocked by trolls.
Remove daily achievements.
Why?
Probably high up on the leaderboard and is sick of having 99% of their playtime dedicated to dailies and LS stuff.
