Norns always did. Delete and make an Asura!
being playing mine since closed beta, its probably me but I’m seeing it different. Just wondering if it was only me or others perceive the same.
I’m with you that fractals should scale a bit higher in gold above lvl 30 and 40… BUT the amount of rare items and mats dropped in fractals is also higher.
you still get a bit more reward after completing fractals than after completing AC..
That said, if reward over time is what you are looking for, then yes… Fractals is way unrewarding and doing Cof 1 and 2 in 15 mins followed by AC 1 and 3 and probably a HoTW in the middle will be the most rewarding “dungeon run” you can have… specially considering how easy those paths are.
Don’t worry, some of us get it worst… I live in south america so it redirect me to EU site because you know, reasons… it seems that 40 million in spain is bigger than around 400 million in south america.
OP,
how many remove condition skills and traits do you have slotted?
This is the armor i want….
Common Anet make it happen xD
I’d love to have the Kodan chestpiece… not the lame armor from the Kodan dungeon…the ones the Kodan are wearing.
Also… I would give my firstborn for a Kylek armor. Those aztec designed armors are amazing.
Nitpicking time ! This isn’t a Kodan, it’s a norn in bear form :p
Doesn’t one of the norn cultural armor loos like this ?
of course it is…unless kodan’s now vacation in the Caribbean, ive never seen a polar bear so brown.
anything without flames would be good
Seeing as the set is called “Flamekissed”, I think that’s not a very realistic expectation.
Really, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just took another mediocre light armor set and add flame effects, just like they did with medium and heavy armor.
Burnt rags would be a “Flamekissed” armor if you ask me… world of warcraft cliche armors looks lame. Putting lights and glowing to armor is easier and cheaper than actually reproducing the texture of different fabrics on the same model… that is why we don’t see quality armors as much as this “shiny” armors.

And how do you suggest they earn money if they are giving everything for free in the game?
The services they had at start are more than enough if the game is interesting enough to keep playing it. Instead of putting an armor in the gemstore that will be bought by a minority, they could place it in as ingame reward and promote the use of transmutations… like fractal weap skins that cant be used without a stone. Imagine how many skins would you have already if every armor was part of an ingame reward instead of a pay to use. More players will be willing to use if it means that you did content to get instead of just cash it. Having a locker for skins (that would require a transmutation stone each time you want to change) will let players accumulate skins and transmute to what they want without the fear of loosing the previous skin and if they ever wants to go back, they will need to use another stone.
Implement more services, leveling scrolls, player housing (why not? add cool things to your home, things you can enjoy with friends like the minigames, but your own, a bar with the toast minigame included comes to my mind, they have a whole team to come up with ideas).
There are many things they can provide that are not lame skins.
Delaying the release of new content in the game to add some cliche skins that obviously doesn’t have much work on is bad for the game. It can be more profitable in a short therm but it reduces the amount of content that we have available in the world on the long term. Put more effort in content than in the gemstore and you will have a larger world with more players (because you know, the game is better) and the gemstore will be used anyway.
anything without flames would be good
Was the animation changed?
My Norn seems to run different while wielding weapons. It looks clumsy and stupid.
I don’t want to see her die… I don’t want to see her ever again…
best solution.. start a new story and pretend she never happened. Erase her name from the database.
thanks but what about his face xD , i couldn’t get it right .
I’ve seen some NPCs with weird faces or details… I believe some of the most unique NPCs can’t be replicated…
create his brother that way it will still be your own and unique character. You can even use his lastname
I rolled a human for many reasons including t3 armor etc, people who are calling people who dislike the human cult armor being sold at the cash shop and calling them “kittenes” are morons. The set costs less than half of actual armor. That’s crap, how would you like it if something you paid hard time or money for, had to pick a certain race to get it and suddenly it’s for everyone?
It’s not fair to anyone who rolled a human for the armor because they cannot race change. So stop calling people who complain selfish, you kittenes are the ones being selfish because it’s all benefits for you.
10 real life dollars > make believe money
Your mistaken thought the armor did not cost 10 real life dollars. The armor cost 800gem’s which technically have no real monetary value since there backed by no governments.
Anet made true on there promise when you gave them 10 dollars they gave you 800 gem’s to spend.
don’t speak on subjects that you have no clue on.
Actually he does have a point and let me rephrase you (can’t remember it literally) something that was posted somewhere else: If you buy a plane ticket to assist a museum and, when you arrive, the museum is closed; nobody will refund you the plane ticket.
I’m puzzled why some players decided to join this game if the concept they like for armor design is clearly the opposite of what GW had in the first place…
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mesmer_armor
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Necromancer_armorSo many light armor pants. The mesmer especially. Light armor + pants is clearly the opposite of what GW had. Yes sir.
I’d love to see more pants to be honest. Specially more Mesmer “Victorian tuxedos” (sry, my english is not the best). What I definitely don’t want to see is more lineage alike skins or wow particle fx on top of players.
(edited by Mesket.5728)
YES 99% OF THE PEOPLE POSTED… but the people who liked this armor and bought it, never looked in the forum till today. LOL
and pls dont say that this forum should represent the whole gw2 community, thats is weird!
It’s not about the amount of people that posted… its about the amount of truth that was told. A cold wake-up slap right in the face.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Elite_Templar
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Warrior_Elite_Platemail_armorThese were in GW1. Arenanet made them – they know about them.
How many times must we ask for them?Wow – can’t believe it’s been 2 pages and no heavy armor suggested – so much light and medium
Indeed… GW1 have amazing skins and those automatically fit in. Kurzick armor, now those were some beatiful skins too.
… And its also true that all suggestion was light and medium and to be honest, some are kind of weird… its like I join a basket online game and ask for my shirt to look like a bullet proof vest because I also like counter strike… O.o
I would like something like:
you have a game for this, its called World of Warcraft, plenty of people enjoying it. You should join them.
I’m puzzled why some players decided to join this game if the concept they like for armor design is clearly the opposite of what GW had in the first place…
I dont understand why would you delete your character to transfer… The only reason to trasnfer would be for WvW since you can guest all you want for pve.
That said, even your WvW server of choice, by the time you are 80 and fully equipped wont be the same. WvW come and go all the time.
This fight became different now. I don’t even bother to dodge anything.
Challenging content!
indeed the fight is easy mode now but it was refreshing that at least they resolve that design issue (providing npcs either to complement the story that is being told or to assist on the fights shouldn’t die by its own environment, it was a good change. Now they should add one or two skills to complicate the fight a bit).
You know, everyone talks about how much they hate Scarlet. Funny…isn’t that what the devs want?
Hear me out: They’ve thrown a villain at us that is cartoonish, silly, and really doesn’t DO anything other than have her minions (ahem…alliances) fight for her. In a way, she’s just a superfluous figurehead. But, she has galvanized most of the rest of us into hating her, and wanting to see her dead by increasingly cruel means.
Scarlet needs to have her story fleshed out a bit, and she could be a great villain. Finally, when we get to the last chapter in her living story, everyone in the entire game is going to willingly complete it, just to see her die. And, if it’s an instance, they’ll do it repeatedly…
So, in a sense they have accomplished exactly what they were going for with her. We all hate her, or at least most of us do.
No,… everyone hates the Lanister, but we love how well developed those characters are. Not the same hate we have for Scarlet.
First, no… Not everyone hates the Lannister. There are some who genuinely like parts of them.
Secondly, I never said it was the same type of hate. All I said is that if the mission was to make everyone in the game hate her, then they accomplished it well.
Why was it so hard for you, mr straw man, to understand that I was referring to Cersei and Joffrey? I mean the characters that are made for you to hate but are so well done that even if you hate them, you recognize the amazing job done by the writer because he did indeed accomplished his task, you hate them.
We don’t hate scarlet because she is evil and do bad things to good people, we hate her because she is shallow, annoying, it doesn’t have any kind of charm or personality (its a joker copycat) and we don’t want her to be our main villain. We simply don’t-like-her. I don’t care what she is doing or why she is doing it, even if she blows up all the capital cities, I wouldn’t care because there is no reason behind her plot. Everything about her was story-wise forced to happen and it doesn’t make sense. Its breaking more lore than it is generating. Its not adding nothing to the game, its substracting value to the story already written. The only harm she is doing is to the novel writers. I wonder how many book would Scarlet story sell…

an upgrade? since when putting some flashes is considered an upgrade?
You might not consider it an upgrade but some others might… I can see this armor set being particularly popular for human female elementalists for example.
If it would be through the forge like he suggested then it by nature would for one be entirely optional and for other not be exclusive in terms of other potential upgrade options.
But the cases where that upgrade might applied are the very few. You just named one class that is particuarly fond with magic and its effects but how many “magic user” classes are there? and fond with fire?
Guardians? Foefire,… blue fire.
Necros with fire? No, srsly, magic glow maybe green or black but not really on fire.
Mesmers? Lol, if you ever played GW1 you would know what a Mesmer really is and trust me, they wouldn’t be using fire in their fancy clothes.
aaaand thats about it… the rest of the classes shouldn’t be wearing things set on fire! Tell me how my Norn Warrior would look more norn and warrior because it is set on fire and has lava up his kitten No man, it doesn’t fit right. I can look cool from an X Men comic book point of view but its not from a guild wars art point of view.
An upgrade would be adding more dolyak hides, more horned helms options, stuff like that.
You might say its a matter of taste, but its not. Taste is choosing between T1, or T3, choosing a wolf oriented set or a bear looking set, that is a matter of taste; this is a matter of concept art. Meaning art behind a concept,.. so what is the concept of a ranger set on fire? because he looks more fierce? it really doesn’t… besides, all this lava, shines and fairy wings on players its becoming such a trend that its not original nor “impressive”, its becoming silly actually.
Did Ascalonian Fractal lvl 33 yesterday and it was amazing to see the veteran Charr npcs endure the whole fight against the last boss…. good job on this one ANet.
The uproar is about nonhumans being able to keep the flame skin. There are many of us with human characters that applied the new flame skin to our existing human T3 armor. With the new change not only will we be losing out on the skin we purchased with gems, but we will also lose the T3 armor skin that we purchased with gold.
The solution is simple, allow human characters that have already applied the new flame skin to keep that skin.
Please consider this.
Thanks in advance.
Just make it an upgrade of the t3 via the mystic forge and add more upgrades so other races are not left out.
an upgrade? since when putting some flashes is considered an upgrade?
If there is ever going to be an upgrade for my culturals I’d hate to see some lazy glow added… Instead I’d like to see more detailed armors, using more fabrics, more layers, more “realistic” details, not some glow paint here and there like any junior designer can do. Any free to play korean game has that… but detailed armors? you won’t find that in many games
more lava than a volcano.., not wowish enough, it needed more flamez.
don’t worry, it will have cawl flamez and lazerbeens anyway for all the cawl kids. Not like there is already a flood of demon players around LA… flamez is the new black!

What if Trahearne IS Scarlet (now play The Crying Game music theme),… you know a wig, some lipstick, a few operations here and there… one is not the same after defeating an elder dragon… O.o!
could this PLEASE be the LAST lava/fire/molten thing we see on top of players?
you know… its getting a bit repetitive and meaningless since it has NOTHING to do with what we do at the game. Maybe molten aliance,… once… just maybe… but this is going to far.
kthxbye
I’m disappointed in general with more lava on players than on volcanoes
the only good/viable idea to repopulate the world would be roll back the game to sept 2012.
What would that accomplish?
re populate the world…
Ô.ô
How? I want to hear the logic behind this.
Ok, get a calculator. Lots of paper, pencils, sharpeners,.. get ready to do heavy math here….
think about the game release date…. ok we are done.
(edited by Mesket.5728)
they didn’t have time to move forward with the game…
Dropping lava on old skins takes time. Be patience (?)

Particle FX… nuff said.
wow armors in gw… i want my money back u.u
Do you have time to talk about our Lord and Savior Bowbear?
Unarmed dual bear rangers (yes like 2 pets out all the time). That’s what we need… (?)
Look out for karma vendors, some of them have nice skins.
Also if skins is what you are looking, use dulfy.net to search for weapons and how to acquire them. You will need transmutation stones to use those skins.
But yes, most of the “good” ones come at lvl 80
They want to be happy with it. They want us to accept it. This is making huge profits for them.
They don’t want this game to run for years as we do (they will try to keep it alive with the least amount of effort possible, its business), so if they can squeeze every penny out of it, they will probably do it.
I, finally, realized that this will not be the game to be played for years; so, good bye long term investments.
So long and thanks for all the cheese.
well ma’friend; if you wanna farm rabbits i’d recommend you go to the shiverpeak mountains… lots of white rabbits there!
So… you mean they need a real artist to re-design T3?
If this ever comes true… I would be so affraid if I were a human light wearer that I would keep the current model.
I bought GW2.
Between the glowy skins and Scarlet taking over the story for the last several months… I don’t even know what the hell am I playing anymore.
You can buy Arah armor cheaper than a cultural armor.
Press “Y” – look for the selling parties = profit.
There are flaws where ever you look and that is why customers and getting emotional easier with each new patch.
Yes, but it’s not ANet carrying people in these dungeon runs, it’s players twisting the system, so any argument about what this means for the direction in which ANet is/has taken horizontal progression doesn’t hold up.
What horizontal progression? I think you got lost in the game a year ago…
wake up, this is not the GW2 we bought… this is Wow-morphing at a really fast pace.
Seriously, instead of adding a new slash to the karma armor, or more spikes, or more metal scales, I don’t know, 1-2 hours of work on a skin you already have just to make it more appealing… no, just throw some meaningless lava on it and people will buy it. Why work right?
1/10
The Fractured changes are great…
The fire armors are pushing me away from the game.
The game just doesn’t look like the one I bought and I certainly don’t like this Wow copycat. At least in wow flashy armors had a concept from where you get it (like CoF armor here) but this flame bla bla armors and all other new glowy skins are absolutely pulled out of the hat. Stupid stadistics that shows a trend in players buying flashy skins ¬¬
(edited by Mesket.5728)
I would be 100% agree with you if this was World of Warcraft. But its not.
This game is based on skins, nothing else. For a game like this, you argument is as logical as Data from star trek can be logical, failing to see the true meaning of some things, even as stupid as virtual costumes.
I do see the point of this argument, but others have made it and it doesn’t really work in my view. Cultural armor has always been available via cash shop, because the only thing you need for it is gold, which can be converted after purchasing gems. So nothing has changed there except the number of gems needed.
If we were talking about dungeon armor, which can only be acquired by completing challenging content in the game, then I would be on board with the argument. But there is a huge difference between selling cultural armor and selling Arah armor in the gem store.

Even if Scarlet has the most spectacular dead, many will just click skip video for the sake of not having to watch her ever again.
“This armor addition was objectively wrong because it makes me feel cheated.” The reality is no one was cheated. The armor looks similar but it’s not the same. No ‘prestige’ was lost, if it ever existed, because it’s still clear which of these is the human cultural and which is the gem store armor. This is a logical argument.

How quaint that they still haven’t responded to a forum post coming up on 500 mostly angry responses with a corresponding reddit thread with coming up on 500 mostly angry responses. Customer service at its finest.
they will merge it, say they listen and release a new glowy particle fx armor for the kids to be happy.
There are two general types of posts going on in this thread. I’m not going to argue that one side is being silly and one is being level-headed.
1) Emotion driven.
“I feel like ANet just spit in my face.”
“My human T3 has lost its prestige and exclusivity.”2) Logic driven.
“Your human T3 armor has not been devalued at all.”
“What’s the problem with opening up cultural armors for all races?”The emotion driven posts are coming from people who are upset, and it should be easy to see why, even if you are not one of these people. To me, many of these people don’t expect their post to change anything, they just want to hear something from ANet about why this was done.
The logic driven posts are coming from people who want to flesh out whether there is really a problem here, outside of perceived insult. It seems that some of these posters also want to use this opportunity to show ANet that players would welcome more access to cultural armor between races.
To all the emotional posters:
ANet has clearly shifted their position on cultural armor exclusivity, I think we can all agree on that. Maybe the best thing you can do is calmly voice your disappointment here, where there is a chance that the decision makers will take a look, then do your best to enjoy your T3 set as much as you did prior to the gem store update. Do this for yourself, for how much you like the way the armor looks, not for how hard it may have been for you to to acquire. To all the logical posters:
Maybe now is not a good time. Yes, some of the perceived slights being voiced here may be a bit over the top from your perspective, but just because a poster is emotional does not make their perspective invalid. Try to understand the sentiment instead of deconstructing the arguments. Some of us have lots of T3 armor and don’t feel slighted in the least bit, but that’s not really relevant to the feelings of others.
Who are you to separate people into 2 biased groups that would fit your personal opinion?
“emotionals” and “logic driven”, could you be more obvious please? Why not players who don’t like the new patch, and people who doesn’t care about this game?
If you like the change, then you are with the people who like it, period. Not with “logic driven” users… I heard about people being entitled but man you have a record now.
There is a lot of posts that gave many good reasons why the “new” armors are a bad idea and are not written in an emotional way.
What story?
Scarlet is the anti-story. It destroys stories… the molten alliance had potential.. until some lazy writer put scarlet on it too.
You know why your boxes are not selling ANet?
Because you are keeping the same prize for a cheaper game.
This patch just made your game even cheaper.
Each patch you put art and things closer to WoW, you are reducing the value of your product.
GW2 at release had much more value than now and its not because it was something new, but because it was original.
The current game would never reach anyway close to your original selling even if it was released as new and nobody would know about it. It is just cheaper.
