Classes are things a character chooses and decides to train towards. No reason to think being a revenant would be any different and require you to be dead or anything. No one has said Rytlock is dead. GW1 characters could visit the underworld and didn’t come back dead. And we go in and out of the mists all the time.

Anyway I don’t expect low level areas for revenants. This is an expansion, not a standalone campaign like we had with GW1. GW1’s expansion EotN didn’t have lowbie content.

With the expansion you’ll start earning mastery points once you’re max leveled. You can use mastery points to level various abilities or features depending on which ones are important to you and will help you play the content you enjoy.

Well a lot of my alts are in the 21-26 range. I’ve been getting the silver doubloons from time to time, but as people have become more aware of getting doubloons from JP chests I’ve noticed a big drop in the frequency of doubloons so I’m almost not thinking about them anymore.

I noticed a drop in frequency when Wintersday started and now they are even less frequent.

I didn’t think about getting more than one spinal blade packs. Given how much those core things cost I’ll hold off on that ambition for now. :P

Thanks all for the info!

So you’re not seeing the stealth status on your boon/condition bar?

When you say you’re going stealth is your character completely disappearing or gaining the stealth visual effect where you can see your character’s figured but only vaguely.

Either one is a bug if you’re not gaining the actual stealth status on your status bar.

The disappearing model is a known one but keep reporting it so they can get it fixed. If you’re gaining the stealthed visual without having the stealth status that’s a new bug to me. I sometimes have the opposite where my character fails to gain the visual effect on my screen when I am in fact stealthed.

Hey so I have a lot of alts and don’t get around to playing each of them a lot, so what I’ve been doing is parking them at the Aetherblade Jumping Puzzle to get Blade Shards for the ascended back piece.

But now I have enough blade shards and don’t need to keep collecting more each day, so I’m wondering if there are other JPs people know of that give you worthwhile items on top of the random blues/greens you get each time.

My bored alts need a new chest to daily up!

Okay so one question about two graphics cards. Seems like it’s not worthwhile for running one game, but what about for running multiple graphics intensive programs at once?

I often like to stream movies or run multiple programs at once while playing GW2. I even have multiple accounts and sometimes run them both at once for various things like scouting or using the TP or crafting or just using mesmers to teleport my characters places.

If I had two graphics cards, could I make it so one program uses one graphics card, and another program uses another? And would that make a difference at all?

I’m probably not gonna do dual GPUs, but still curious about possibilities.

Seems dual GPU isn’t really that great or worth it from the feedback here. Especially since GW2 is CPU heavy. I’ll look into your alternative suggestions instead.

Traits is really the only big issue I see and they’ve been vocal about working on a better solution.

Another thing that IS weird is when someone has completed everything in an area and the game recommends you go find random POIs like it’s a quest that’s going to help you advance your character through the game.

My friend who is brand new to MMOs had this happening to her and it was very confusing for her. You unlock the POI and it instantly tells you to go to some other random POI or Vista. Or you get out of range of the Vista while you’re trying to reach it and it points you to another Vista all the sudden. You start asking, what’s the point of this? They should look into better ways to recommend exploration when main objectives are complete.

Other than that I really enjoy the level up rewards. Skill points could maybe come more gradually instead of in chunks? I really like the other rewards. As an alt-aholic it’s really nice to have progressively better gear given to me for free as I level. Means I have to buy less gear myself as my characters level up.

PC Building. Tech Savvy Feedback?

Mo Mo.1947

Hello! I’m looking to build a PC for GW2: HoT and more and looking for some feedback.

What I’m looking for right now:

Right now I’m looking for a durable and quality mobo and CPU that will last for a few years while I upgrade the other hardware over time.

I don’t really know if something special is required, but I heard you can run two GPUs parallel so I’d like to try that.

Here are some previous recommendations I’ve received on a post a while back:

CPU:
Intel i5-4590
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116991

Mobo:
Asus Maximus VII Hero LGA Z97…
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132125

Asus Z97-P LGA 1150…
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1920603

Questions/Needs:

1. I want to run two GPUs, so I’d like a mobo that has plenty of space for two GPUs. So no cramped PCI-e slots. The Hero I linked seems to have a good gap between the slots.

2. How do I find a computer case that fits the mobo I choose? Does most any case fit most any mobo?

3. I currently have two Zotac GeForce GTX 560Tis I was going to use in parallel. Is that possible for this model of GPU? Any recommendations on a newer model for future upgrades?

4. I like lots of USB slots. The ones recommended to me have only a few. Do mobos have ports on them that additional USB slots could plug into or are you pretty much stuck with whatever USB slots you start with?

5. A couple people recommended that specific Intel i5 CPU that I linked above, but if I go with an i7 or something else, how much of an impact would it have on my computers performance for gaming specifically.

6. If I choose a specific CPU first, how do I know if a mobo will mesh well with it. The two mobos recommended to me both say something about a Z97 chipset. Is that specific chipset tailored to the specific CPU I linked above?

What important to me in hardware choices:
I’m not looking to spend tons of money but know it takes a certain level of cost to get quality. I don’t need top tier stuff. I’m no professional gamer. Reliable performance and durability are my main values. Coupled with functionality when it comes to the layout of the mobo. Whatever brands or versions can get me reliability and durability without a huge cost, I want that.

I was hoping to spend $600-$800 on the basics: CPU/mobo/case/powersupply/CPU-cooler. Could go slightly higher if it’s worth it.

Thanks for any input you have to offer!

To the persons complaining about useless traits, it’s important to remember that the current meta is not the meta of the past nor the meta of the future.

Leaving a pool of options, even if some of them are a bit odd or nìche, makes a good environment for players to experiment with new ideas.

You used to see a lot of heartseeker thieves in PvP, now it’s a bunch of S/D thieves with the exact same build. In another 6 months thieves could be running something totally different.

The meta is always changing, and a pool of extra skills makes transforming the meta natural and interesting.

I think there are definitely a lot of signs that they’re moving more and more to account-based unlocks so we could easily expect something account-based when it comes to the new trait system.

And Gaile you should give up on these negative tangent posters and delete any posts that aren’t strictly on-topic, at least on the first page of this post.

When you or another moderator makes a thread, especially one to try and recycle the tainted conversation into a productive discussion, I don’t think you should have to let people to mess it up right away with off-topic complaints.

Since most people only read the first page the first page needs to be ontopic for a constructive discussion to persist. I think it’d be okay if you put some of these initial comments and replies to the initial comments into the recycle bin.

So I can effectively neutralize two or three enemy players in sPvP by wasting their time while my team takes care of capping other points or taking out the other members of the enemy team in the meantime.

[Suggestion] Color Blind Mode (merged)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Mo Mo.1947

Mo Mo.1947

I think telling the difference from armor type is a big issue as well. Maybe some little symbol in the corner of each item.. like M for masterwork L for legendary, ect..

….or they could hover the cursor over the item and see what rarity a piece of equipment is.

If you aren’t colorblind you really aren’t in a position to tell colorblind people to just get over it with a comment like that.

There are some workarounds but if you think colorblind people should just hover over all the gear and read the details would YOU like them to take away the functionality you have to see a gears rarity WITHOUT hovering?

Wouldn’t it be annoying having to hover over every drop instead of just knowing if it’s an exotic from a glance?

They added some other new UI elements that are optional to toggle on and off. It would be nice if they could have a UI accessibility team. I would like to be able to toggle some features myself that bother my eyes.

They could add circle options for AoE that show a different line pattern instead of a different color and/or a ring that comes up off the ground so it’s easier to differentiate from the terrain.

Colorblindness is only one visual issue that affects some of the playerbase. There are plenty of visual issues that make the game troublesome to play. They say they try to make the skills really easy to read in sPvP so you can react to them, but I can’t tell what the hell is going on with my eyes. I don’t know what’s supposed to be obvious but most skill activations aren’t obvious to me. The heal skills are the only things that are extremely obvious and that’s it for me.

In that upper boat bar in Lion’s Arch where the secret entrance to the Order of Whispers is the NPCs talk about Lion’s Arch always bouncing back from disaster and always becoming something new and better when it does. Something about not dwelling on the past too, I think.

DO YOU EVEN PLAY THIS GAME!?!

Uhmm I guess I do..

ed: 6.75hr a day for those mathematically challenged.

So you play the game like a full time job and you think you’re being subjected to grinding?

You’re experiencing burnout from playing the game way too much and blaming the game for it.

It’s your choice to play the game a ton and it’s your choice to save up your bags to open them all at once instead of opeing them a few at a time as you get them.

The bags of useless loot is a problem and they need to change their loot system, but it’s not grind to open loot bags. And no I haven’t ever opened up 250 bags at once because I never let my stacks get that big before opening them.

I open bags while I’m running somewhere, during downtime when a group is forming, as a break from what I’m doing to get some downtime. Opening bags is annoying, but it’s not grind.

The way you’re playing the game is giving you burnout. It’s not the game’s fault that you can’t manage your playtime in a healthy way.

The game has no mandatory grind. If you are grinding, it’s because you like to grind or you want special cosmetic and prestige items that grinding rewards you with.

I like to grind sometimes too. But I can always go do something non-grind when I don’t want to and I’m never required to return to grinding.

Your post is a bit more tl;dr than it needs to be but I like the idea.

Seems you’re basically just asking for a “Convert skin to transmutation charge” feature. They would just have to only add this feature to gem store skins and it wouldn’t cause issues with other skin items.

I too have bought a few gem store skins for only a few of the pieces and now have a bunch of skins sitting around unused on my storage character.

I also have a couple sets I’ve bought for later use by characters that I haven’t leveled to 80 yet so they’re just sitting around using up space.
