Oh okay so after I make the purchase there is a separate register page where I can put their email in?
Hi!
I’m wanting to buy an account for my friend but I want to make sure that the account get’s tied to HIS email and NOT mine.
I’m at the purchase screen and it wants me to fill out my billing information.
It has a spot for an email. I’m wondering if I should put HIS email or MY email in this spot?
Thanks for any help!

Mesmers will be there, benevolent portals outstretched in your direction.
Fight guilds? What like where they sit around blob GvGing instead of actually playing WvW?
Just drop down a tier or something. There’s a big difference in population probably.
You gotta be adaptable if you want to solo roam in T1. It’s crowded sometimes. But not always.
Your real problem isn’t that you are in T1, it’s what time and which days you play WvW.
When I play WvW in tier 1 there are often far less players than during peak times. If possible, change what time you WvW, and don’t expect to be able to solo roam on the weekend.
What is a “blank” jam?
People are telling you to buy ascended amulets but if you’re new you don’t really need them that bad and you’ll get more laurels later.
Either saving them up or going for the T6 materials so you can sell them for gold would be best. When you are just starting the game having some gold to get what you need is much more useful than having ascended accessories.
If you’re running out of space in your inventory look into crafting/buying bigger inventory bags. They go up to 20-slot backs (giving you 100 storage slots total) but I usually just get 18-slot bags for all my characters because of the price of 20-slot bags.
In the cancelled fourth campaign of Guild Wars 1 there was a Chronomancer profession in the works. If there are any timeline plot-holes, blame it on a chronomancer playing little tricks.
Also your character’s personal story timeline is made so it takes place whenever you do it and it isn’t out of order with anything else.
If you redo personal story right now you’ll see that Lion’s Arch is destroyed and vines have destroyed Fort Trinity or whatever that one place is called. Living Story is a progression but Personal Story could take place any time.
What zone do you notice this in?
Are you sure they aren’t going invisible because your character model limit is low and only shows a few players at a time?
You should bind screenshot to a button you can reach quickly and snap a few screenshots of these players that you can look at later to get their names and file a support ticket.
Are they calling the next Windows OS “Windows 10” instead of “Windows 9”?
Please take my money again, ANet.
Thank you.
If you are going for 100% Critical consider that it’s easier to get crit to 80% and then get a stack of Fury for +20% critical than it is to buff yourself up to 100% crit.
@ Siphaed:
You don’t need an overhaul to add accessibility. You just have to toggle options. Like how you can toggle various effects as well as various indicators in the inventory window.
The Wyvern is the worst example ever. You don’t know what you’re talking about. The Wyverns neck transforming and glowing has nothing to do with color blindness. You don’t need to know what color the Wyvern’s neck is to see that it’s glowing. And the Wyvern will surely have a visible animation like all big bosses even if the glowing isn’t obvious.
Anyway. There are other threads and plenty of people would like to see this implemented. They’ll just have to figure out the best way to make the game accessible.
Please don’t come in and immediately dismiss the request of someone with a visual disability. We are all people just like you.

@OP
You don’t have to talk like you’re staging a protest just to say you don’t like the new class.
If you don’t like what you get, don’t play it. But also you haven’t seen the completed version of the Revenant so you don’t know what to expect. They didn’t even show all 5 trait lines in the play video.
What’s the big deal making this thread just because you don’t like the Revenant? So just don’t play one.
I don’t like a couple of the classes and I just don’t play them. I don’t come on the forum to tell everyone why.
What skill are you putting on auto attack?
Add cloth gathering nodes to open world? They have some in home instances. It’s a bit strange, but in areas of PvE where there are camps you could have cloth nodes. Maybe a pile of dead enemies that you can gather scraps from every day. :P
I don’t want dual weild torches for thief. And I don’t want dual warhorns for mesmer.
I don’t want longbows for mistfire wolfves.
Always quit a guild if you don’t enjoy it or suspect the leadership to be idiotic or mentally unstable.
Even if it was normal, don’t run with some kitten who tries to control you. This game isn’t the army unless you enjoy that environment and are willingly choosing to be a part of it.
There are plenty of successful guilds that aren’t led by strange stunted personalities.
I’ve been able to body block people in sPvP who have melee assist enabled. They get immobilized when surrounded by minions. :P
I would pay up to 15% of my total amount of gold at any point. 15% if it was really awesome. If I ever earn tons of gold I’ll buy some of the ridiculously priced skins.
When you do LFG, do people join your party automatically or do you have to accept them into the party via a join request?
You have to click to accept them right? Wouldn’t it be your bad for constantly accepting their invite?
@Sheldin. So this is a complaint about someone ruining your balm farming? If you’re doing the Rata Sum thing where anyone can come in you’ve gotta be expecting this occasionally.
You’re basically playing a goofy unsupported farming technique that ANet just leaves in for kicks. You can’t get too upset when your little exploit doesn’t run like clockwork.
I say why not. It seems that have teams that work on smaller priority stuff, so I’d be delighted if this was on their list of fun features to ad as they get the time.
I’m just going to call it the Defiance Bar or Defiance Meter. Two years down the road I’m still gonna call it that, defiantly.
I don’t like that I can’t get back to the window where it shows me the “All Available Dailies” window with everything neatly categorized into 3 columns.
It’s less clear which dailies are for what category because they aren’t even grouped together by type in the daily list.
Guild Halls is a “major feature”, this is beyond insulting for obvious reasons.
And still no proper GvG?
You know NOTHING.
Go watch/rewatch this video.
They explain why Guild Halls are a major feature and announce a GvG ladder. If you don’t get it you can just wait until they get around to releasing info. Seems to me there’s plenty of info in the video to counteract what you’re saying.
Their functions were mostly removed but not entirely.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Personality
Anomalies:
:: Although most aspects of personality have been removed from the game, some parts of the system remain, notably:
• You must still choose a personality during character creation.
• Dialogue choices sometimes still show the impact on personality, especially during personal story instances and when requesting the City Travel buff to increase speed in town

If this were entirely true, then even if the market was over flooded, the price of a 1ticket skins wouldn’t drop to 1/3rd the “supposed” value by your calculations. It’s not exactly like theres an overflow of skins currently. why is this then?
If theres a direct real value to it, then the varying value farmed by other methods shouldn’t change so drastically.
there’s some “skin favorism” based on the wepaon, but the fluctuation is still high outside of that.
What are you referencing to? Your reply has nothing to do with my post. Did you mean to quote someone else?
I wasn’t talking about the price of skins. I was talking about the value of everything BUT the skin.
How does the low value of everything else have anything to do with what you’re saying about the market trade value of a skin?
To answer the first question without arguing for silk one way or another:
The price might be going up again if many people have decided to start crafting ascended gear for their Revenant. Like how everyone is gathering Tomes of Knowledge to get their Revenant insta-80 on launch.
So why not having fishing?
When it’s ready!
I do not understand why some people want fishing so badly. It serves no real purpose. You can see pretty things and do peaceful, relaxing activities without fishing. There are plenty of things to craft/cook already. I mean, to each his own and all that, but I just personally don’t get it.
The entire game has no purpose, lol. We’re all just playing it to have fun.
However that doesn’t change the fact you spewed the “you can dismiss the value of everything except tickets” statement.
But you really CAN dismiss the value of everything except tickets because the rest is just scattered random loot. You CAN get scattered random loot from doing many things in game that AREN’T key farming, but you CAN’T get claim tickets from doing many things in the game.
The value of the random non-ticket items you get are essentially no more valuable than the random items you get from doing most anything in the game.
If someone hand you a piece of junk and claims it’s worth X gold/dollars, is it worth X gold/dollars or is it still a piece of junk.
See Astral Projection’s full post for an analysis I agree with on the low value of black lion goods that aligns with the idea that the random non-ticket items are all insignificant profit-wise.
Buying a legendary isn’t pay to win. It’s pay to be stylish.
Buying keys with real money is literally gambling.
ANet has a lot of systems in place where if you can’t buy the convenience with gem store items, you can still succeed and make money by putting time into the game.
You aren’t making $30 an hour key farming because you aren’t farming gems, you’re farming the equivalent of lottery tickets or slot machine tokens.
@OP I don’t know what your arbitrary moral stance on key farming is all about, but you really need to look at the big picture before you judge something you JUST found out the details on.
I have barely any gold in-game and enjoy doing the things in game that don’t earn you money. I key farm every once in a while because it’s a way to invest a short amount of time for a CHANCE (not a guarantee!) of making a little gold.
I think I’ve probably farmed keys about 20-25 times and I only just got enough scraps for a black lion ticket. Everything else I got was random black lion goods that no one really cares about. I mean I have a stack of all the black lion goods I got from completing story and getting random drops just piling up in my inventory. Other people just use them randomly to get rid of them.
I spend about 1.5 gold per run to level with cooking, so I spent about 38 gold on 25 key farms to get 1 black lion ticket that i can trade in for a weapon skin worth 65 gold. That’s hardly a huge pile of profit.
Most of what you get out of key farming is useless or marginally profitable.
Like someone said earlier, there are other ways to make gold faster.
There’s nothing wrong with key farming existing.

This new system seems excellent! It also feels a lot more organic and true to the word “defiance”.
Can’t wait to smack down that defiance bar!
Yeah I was just trying to get someone to make a clear statement about their experience with gw2 account emails since it seemed a bit ambiguous thus-so-far.
I’ll report that I put my email that I use for a gw2 account in and submitted it for the HoT mailing list 8 hours ago and haven’t receive a confirmation email.
And it looks like the last news email I got from ANet was on January 24th:
“Guild Wars 2 Expansion Pack Revealed at PAX South”
Not sure if any emails were supposed to go out after that one.
If your email is already being used for your GW2 account then you should already be signed up, no?
I didn’t see anyone saying they have failed to sign up for the newsletter on an account that isn’t used for a GW2 account.
I never knew this thread existed!
TWO problems.
ONE:
Charr female warrior:
Banded Shoulders on my female charr seen here. Same shoulders previewed on the SAME character. The first preview is from mid January. The second preview is from today.
TWO:
Sylvari female ranger
This one has been around SINCE LAUNCH. My favorite pants in the world clip through ALMOST ALL chest armor on my sylvari females. The Studded Pants. If only I could wear them!

I ask for tithes. Ten percent of your monthly gold income, please.
I’m against flamboyant consumerism so no. :P I always like to have a cushion of money for when unexpected expenses or emergencies arise.
No emergencies in the game of course, (This isn’t EVE) but still random things like new runes or another few weapons for a new build come up unexpectedly. :O
Oh lol I thought this was gonna be some sort of WoW comparison.
If people want to make a comparison of the revenant to something to get a better conception of how it will fit into the game I don’t think there’s any reason to lambaste them about it.
Look for the blue flames surrounding them to signify Righteous Indignation. (People will generally just type “RI” in chat) You can see the buff from a distance.
They wouldn’t add these new things if they didn’t have plans to make it balanced. They will change which skills do what conditions and for how long to compensate for the existence of condi resist. It’ll be great and we’ll all learn new ways to play.
It was discussed rather extensively in the CDI threads about progression, but they did announce at PAX that they’d never introduce another tier of gear.
Well Legendary isn’t another tier, it’s the armor tier as ascended. Legendary is just a prestige version of ascended gear at this point.
Legendary armor has the possibility to be the biggest grind ever which is why i think it should be avoided if theyre moving in that direction
Well I don’t have legendaries and don’t grind too much, but I always felt legendary gear and infused armor and all that was an incentive for keeping people who like to play hardcore grindy interested in the game.
Since you don’t NEED to grind they have grindy stuff in the game as optional for people who enjoy the grind. Also people from other MMOs are used to grinding for the best gear, so it might be an appeal to people who are used to that type of endgame in MMOs.
So we’ve got a bunch of legendary weapons, and new legendaries on the way people seem to be saying. How about legendary armor? Has this ever been discussed or considered?
A lot of people go for the skin and cool effects on legendary weapons, but legendaries are also really awesome in that you can change their stats outside of battle.
Having armor you could share with your alts and change the stats on to suit the class or playstyle of the alt you’re using would be pretty awesome, I feel.
If they wanted they could even make non-weight-specific legendary armor that changes to heavy/medium/light depending on which character wears it.
You can just keep doing the Dry Top event to get giant kills, no?
If you’re looking for range, go ranger! I really like my ranger for PvE. A lot of options for dealing with various foes in PvE, you’ve got a pet that, if nothing else, can serve as a distraction to keep enemies from hitting on you right away, and the downed state 3 skill. So easy to come back from downed with your pet working your downed health back up like a beast.
There are various ways to make money on the TP, and various guides telling you how to do so, but most of the ones people tell you about aren’t that great.
The reason is that the more people who know about a specific way to make profit on the TP, the less profit made per person as more and more people do it.
Look at some guides on how to make gold on the TP, but then just take them as general ideas.
If you wanna make a lot of gold on the TP you have to find opportunities no one else is noticing, and then move on to something else when other people find out about it and jump on your bandwagon.
Someone complained about this yesterday in map chat and someone else asked them if they had an NVidea GPU and they said yes. Maybe a driver issue?
