Well if abjured think the current balance can help them win some monies then I doubt arenanet are going to make any changes! Just like celestial, if they are happy with it then anet are happy too!
I remember Chaith suggesting shaving Celestials like year ago… but I may be mistaken.
And this is the main reason why I didn’t buy HoT. I could give them my money, I could pay 50€, 80€, 100€, 150€ for a game…..
They promise stuff, to make people buy the game, and then…. LOL
Anet just does not deserve my money… not yet…. not until they start doing things right for PvP players.
I’m a hardcore PvP player, I only play PvP. In these 3 years they have not done a full good patch for PvP, they have done medium good patches at the same time destroying other good already implemented stuff, never a complete good patch.
Examples:
- We had SoloQ and TeamQ, but Skyham and Spirit Watch were in SoloQ and not in TeamQ, so hardcore PvP players who wanted to play for real made solo queue in TeamQ
- UnrankedQ and RankedQ was basically the same, they could have done both queues equal being the only difference one counted towards Ladder the other not…. but hey! they 4ked it up and left Skyham, Spirit Watch and Courtyard in Unranked, so again Hardcore PvP players queuing in Ranked
- Same with standard models…. finally we can get rid off those asuras without animations…. but no! not in Unranked! So another reason to play Ranked even if solo, not even thinking on Ladders
- Old ladder system was a joke: play one game, win, jump to top 50, dont play anymore, stay in top 50. They tried to fix that, and what came?? lol another joke system: play 50 games a day you can be top 1, no matter if win or lose or how bad you are, just play!!
- Matchmaking system…. well here they just got drunk one night, started writing code, went to sleep, woke up next day and finished code on the hangover.
I could continue but I just feel it is completely useless.
They have been given feedback from players: for matchmaking (not allow 2 or more of same class in same team, there are already 9 classes, it should not be so difficult), for balance (high sustain with high damage is a flawed concept), for PvP implementations (SoloQ with standard models and only official competitive maps).
But Anet will never listen.

I’ve few times failed to accept join request, when que popped.
I had two DCs where I think I was back faster than in one minute (1sec desynch->client reload->rejoin), then after winning a match I’ve found ~26 dishonor penalty.
Could we have:
a) penalty for “not accepting” removed
b) grace a bit longer for DCs or working at all?
well those, who think balance patches are not needed, are either total noobs playing low elo or are playing DH
Or don’t understand there are many more issues in PvP to balance than “DH issues”.
EU reminds me of the NBA Eastern Conference back in 2000. Western Conference had stronger teams but some people would think that the Eastern Conference had more competition because the matches were closer and they didn’t have to play against the Lakers/Shaq during the qualifiers.
Difference between team and teams is huge.
Also I don’t think that Abjured is stronger than oROMs or TCP*.

no one can claim himself to be a good player while playing easy op meta build, the reason why we have “top” teams and these other teams is just about communication and rotation… but “top” players run revenants, druids, reapers and dragon hunters as you see for a reason…
Its true and not true at same time. For example Nos was running Necro since always, no matter if it was meta or not… obviously you can say Terrormancer was “easy op meta build” but that won’t be right thing to do…

Elite specs were always going to be stronger based solely on the fact that they were created with the current game in mind, not 3 years ago on what they thought classes should be. They will most likely due a balance pass 3-6 months from now and bring all the older trait lines in balance with the Elite specs, but they have to create incentive to buy the expansion currently.
“Core” classes were revamped (their all trait lines were reworked and some skills too) like half year ago… thats not an argument.
Or maybe increase the avatar cd a bit. Even 15 seconds would be strong (or even 20 seconds, pls dont throw stones at me
).

That would kill it for raids. You need your heals ready when an ally needs them. 20s would be far too much, 10 sec are ok.
Ok, thats a point. Maybe in the last three ranger years i learned, that i cannot have something nice. Maybe they just reduce the number of conditioncleanse from 13 to 3 or 5 instead of touching the avatar cd. This would give a conditionbuild still a chance to outplay a druid.
I’d rather have Druidic Clarity (adept) swaped places with Grace of the Land (gm).
This way Druidic Clarity would be more balanced with new energy regen in PvP while still would be good enough to use vs heavy condi setups.
Any plain nerf to DC will make Druid food for Reapers again.
But that’s the point. If the elite specializations weren’t blatantly stronger than the core classes, PvPers would have no reason to buy the expansion.
Thats not true.
For example, even if core Ranger would be truly viable, you would need expansion to have more options (read: be able to support as Druid).
Elite Specializations were supposed to give new roles and more variety to core specializations, not outclass them completly.
My intentions are to buy HoT at some point but I wanted to see how this played out. I purchased with real $$$$ GW2.0 (x3) almost 3 years ago so I am not a freeloader. I mostly play WvW and PvP so new content for PvE does not interest me. Apparently WvW is dead and PvP is useless without these new builds? Why do I feel like I am being held hostage for $50?? Is this the future of F2P?

Lack of communication is the worst, e.g. Rangers would love to know if new Astral energy regeneration is bug or fix to not working properly with some skills. Yet since it wasn’t mentioned by patch notes or communicated by our dev, we don’t know.
Change character, leave PVP queue, change character.
Tried to do so with multiple girls with glasses, but that wasn’t much help – still can’t leave que to enter it.

I’m in que after playing a match already 23 minutes and can’t leave it.
Whenever I try to do so I get msg “Player or channel cannot be found”.

The only thing I saw on the EU servers were teams who specced 4 bunkers and then played subpar builds on just about everything and noobs copying helseth’s bad bunker well build. Every single game nearly went to timer and was a blowout because of their stupid bunker v bunker comps resulting in snowballs.

This is not really an issue if you have a power build around. But on Pure 1×1, condi builds are done.

It’s team game, you aren’t supposed to do everything on your own with any build.

The Condition builds aren’t just having problems killing the Diamond Skin player, they can’t even get him to stay below 90% health
My biggest issue here is that the skill exists in its current form and I don’t see why as it IS yet another step towards limiting build variety.
One of the vocal posters here feels that Bunker Ele is only viable build for them..look at Meta Site and yes its Tempest with Diamond Skin. I never run Meta Builds myself prefering to do my own builds that i find fun to play…..we need to move away from sooo many people running Meta and feeling trapped in it.

Premades aren’t even that much of a problem in unranked since the matchmaker is usually pretty good at assessing a given premade’s effectiveness and matching them accordingly.

That’s a population problem that Anet has to place as a high priority , their numbers tell them that a lot of people are playing pvp but what i assume doesn’t tell them is how long do these players stick around for.
Balance patches must come quicker , MM issues must be resolved once and for all , these are core issues that make people simply don’t bother with spvp , solve these problems and premades become a non issue.
There always will be population problem, because GW2 never will have as many PvP players in Ranked as F2P games, just because they are F2P.

You’re right, thanks… but according to Riot “so if you’re in a premade five, there’s a 95% chance you’ll run into another premade five”, while in GW2 there is not enough premades so they stomp non-premades all day long.
Actually in LoL you can now queue with four people in RANKED , if they can figure it out in a highly competitive game such as that , i don’t see why you all complain about it in GW2

Last time played LoL 3 years ago and back then only duo was allowed in Ranked (non-Team) que.
Every time I see a thread demanding solo q come back because of premades all I can think about is how the REAL esport games DO NOT have a solo q in them.
Solo Q demands are exactly the effect of what OP is talking about. People need to realize that the matching algorithm will match you against tougher and tougher opponents if you keep winning to try and force a 50% win rate LIKE ALL REAL ESPORT TITLES DO AS WELL.
Not sure what it is about GW2 that people think they are special snowflakes in everything but it really needs to stop.

I wouldn’t consider duo’s in que as “premades”. And even if you would consider, you can’t say that 1+1+1+2 vs 1+1+1+1+1 in LoL is less eSportz than 1+1+1+1+1 vs 5 man premade in Gw2.

Thief needs numbers as buffs, Warrior needs evade-hate and baseline unblockables to be viable in this fail meta. This game is just so bad, I’m getting crushed so hard in DOTA and I still feel like it’s a better game LMAO.

i agree with regards to having multiple classes in a team but if matchmaking was made to only allow 1 of each class then i suspect queue times would become very very long.

Obviously the beta testing for the elite specs was a success, they are living up to their name.

Anyway, if people complain about Diamond Skin, tomorrow they will QQ about perma Resistance Malyx.
Druid has “long” Dazes so they could be synergized with Moment of Clarity.
If they would reduce Daze time, then suddenly Moment of Clarity would be completly garbage trait requiring buffs.
