Mystic’s Gold Profiting Guide
Forge & more JSON recipes
I AM Pi^3 YEARS OLD! (Pi * Pi * Pi)
Meah, you don’t really do anything. Just rez people to fight for you.
Not true if you go for that 1 achieve where YOU have to kill them all as bunny. A friend and I went in to do this but sadly she disconnected numerous times so in the end I had to solo them all. I can say it’s certainly do-able without the cheats that the wiki advises(which I think have been fixed now anyway). Just pull a bunny at a time to your spawn point and suicide on him as many times as needed to kill it. But man that Alpha takes a LONG time.
And yes I agree with the OP, this mission was awesome. Kind of a pain on later alts tho when you have done it 5+ times before lol. But still, fun none the less.
that achievement would be called ‘Leave it to Me’.
I added some more precursor crafting recipes provided by queicherius
also added Oni Blade, Monkey Lanterns
also added all 1,330 different combinations for making Amalgamated Gemstone. I decided to only include recipes with different ingredients, so excluded recipes where 2 or 3 of the crests/orbs were the same. main reasoning is that one of the 21 triplet (all 3 ingredients are the same) would ALWAYS be the cheapest. so instead of only have those 21 recipes, I decided to produce recipes that would give you the 3 cheapest ingredients.
I also made that .htaccess Rewrite work. So bostrees shouldn’t have any more problems (assuming that was the problem). also, this means it’s less janky
At the same time, I am now on v3, the main difference being searchability. So you can now do something like http://gw2profits.com/json/v3?output_id=68063ANDingredient=24514 (recipes that make amalgamated gemstone using Crest of the Shaman) or http://gw2profits.com/json/v3?name=SunriseORtype=Sword (recipes that make Sunrise or any sword)
v3 also outputs the recipe id. good for identifying corrections, or knowing which are newly added. all of these forge recipes are negative, so they won’t conflict with normal recipes. this recipe id is also searchable: http://gw2profits.com/json/v3?id=-4205
all the info for using it is located at:
http://gw2profits.com/json
april 21 update:
added merchant recipes for all the basic guild decorations
fixed the recipe for Proof: Finite Result (outputted prototype fractal capacitor instead of had it as an ingredient)
deleted old recipes for amalgamated gemstone. some were duplicates, and there were more than there should of been. I’d rather not look through all 1330 of them to find which were the weird ones, so I just deleted them and remade the 1140 that should be there.
added 1140 new 10x Amalgamated Gemstone recipes
added ‘nameslike’ as an argument. similar to ‘names’ except it searches for text included in the item’s name and not just exact matches (you can search for ‘log’ and get all the ‘Green Wood Log’, ‘Soft Wood Log’, etc.)
april 24 update:
added a bunch of achievement recipes
updated a couple old recipes (Gift of the Catalyst, Gift of the Cosmos, Gift of the Raven Spirit, Machined Rifle, a few more)
replaced ingredient id -112 with 37070 (Gift of the Fractals → Gift of Ascension)
added ingredient id -113 = Tiger
added ingredient id -114 = Gift of the Family
added recipes to craft Chuka and Champawat. There are a lot of achievement recipes for this, and not a lot of items currently exist for them. Just a warning that the recipes are there but no items.

you should clarify ‘inventory bag’. I read it as champ bag initially.
another bug that’s been preset for a while:
when you click to ‘cancel’ a buy order, it will sometimes move the list. like it’s centering the items. more than once I’ve tried to confirm a cancel but ended up viewing the item.
browse through your current buy orders, go down a few pages.
click one of them, place a new buy order. close that item window.
you are now looking at the top of your current buy orders, instead of where you were looking. so now you have to scroll down a few pages to cancel your old buy order.
also a somewhat more mild bug:
current transactions is not expanded by default
It’s no longer just merchants. I’ve seen people dropping food trays right on top of objectives. Trolls will do anything to cause as much trouble as they can, even if it just a makes you have to click twice or such.
but… but… that just delays like 1/2 second. if they just double-click, they’ll consume the food then loot the chest. how is that effective?
yeah, one thing gw2 doesn’t have is choice between good and evil. would be nice if there was a heart event of rounding up their chickens, but you innately had the option to kill the chickens instead, which awarded more gold but negative karma. something like that would be nice.
it’s been suggested before to not let everyone else even see perma personal merchants much less try to talk to them only to get a cold shoulder.
don’t do anything so drastic as not allowing their summoning near places. that’s just going to produce bugs. just make it so everyone besides the summoner can’t even see them (they can’t talk to them anyways).
I made a screenshot video of the issue in question:
https://youtu.be/3-Roe3sf1ME
1 listing at 6s54c. I buy it, and when the page refreshes, it’s there again (I guess that’s even before ‘OK’ button). 6 times.
you know what… I just realized that those account slots + perma bank contract make the digital deluxe upgrade’s 2-week banker golem for all new characters obsolete to key runners.
As ‘mystic’ (no relation to the forge)
to explain myself: I chose this name when StarCraft Brood War came out in 1999. Before that, it was Gohan (DBZ fans can see the transition). It’s quite flattering that Guild Wars chose to name so much after me 6 years later, though I sadly didn’t hear about it until Guild Wars 2 came out.
some info on known forge recipes: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge
no limit. if everything else grey’s out, it means there are no recipes.
as you add items to the forge (or crafting discovery), it will grey out further items that there is no recipe involving that combination
however, there is a bug where it will sometimes glitch and think there is no recipe when really there is. usually works if you close and re-open the forge window, or maybe put the items in in a different order.
what are you trying to put in there? if it’s random items, the rarity has to be the same (if you put in rare, it will grey out all fine and masterwork, for example)

I’m good with navigation.. but TD is just beyond me. Too many times you’ll follow a path toward where you want to go, then it dips down, hits a wall, and makes a U-turn.
VB was pretty good, until I found out there are bosses in the sky.
I like AB. there is stuff above and below, but they are transitory; you don’t go between the 3 levels often, and don’t stay up or go down for long.
I haven’t explored DS enough to make a determination. I like that it’s mostly level, but hate that it’s so blocked off so often.
Yes, Let me have both Moa and Gravity well.
and be able to mimic both of them!
also, CS to get quad usages!
The hype is real
Please explain what I missed? Because in his case I would have put in sell orders for exactly 7s again and again instantly until I would have figured that someone like mystic is really only paying one (so someone is actually actively trying to get through the technic).
I think what he’s referring to is the response time. At first I thought this was someone or a bot that was refreshing these sell listings as they were bought. how long would you say it takes you to refresh yours? 1/2 second to realize your have gold to pick up, 1/2 second to select to sell iron ore, 1 second to open TP sell window, 1 second to select price and hit sell. so maybe 3 seconds total? probably 5 when not trying for a speed record? what I observed was less than 1/2 second total (click ‘buy’, click ‘ok’, new listing is there again, no delay). I’m not so sure a bot is capable of doing that within the confines of GW2 (it takes time to get responses from the server), which is why I asked what people thought in this post.
Actually, I read it as the AP from their dailies will have a 9 at the end. So they have something like 5,009/10,000.
mine is 7,861 dailies haven’t always been multiples of 10
if that’s the concern, V-day events will probably start soon, or spring day celebration, or karka attacking again. there will be more opportunities for extra daily AP soon
hmmm, I’ll do a test… see what food items there are that aren’t used in a recipe to make a feast.
alright, made a list of all chef products that aren’t used to make any forge recipes. 231 of them. I’ll just go get all of those and see if any can go in the forge. brb in a few hours :P
I’ve tried most so far, no new additions. still like 100 to go.
(edited by Mystic.5934)
FYI there are probably a bunch of low-demand foods that have not (yet) been used to create the 5-min feeding trough recipes (e.g. trays, pots, etc.). They follow the same pattern: X mystic coins, Y crystals, original item, and Elonian wine.
Here’s the amounts of coins / crystal / wine for different rating food and armor.
also, I’ve already made and learned every feast and box of armor recipe. used the api to locate them all and match them up with the foods that make them. unless there are new ones, I doubt any were missed (though it’s possible). hmmm, I’ll do a test… see what food items there are that aren’t used in a recipe to make a feast.
here’s a JSON file of the recipes to make all the feasts/boxes of armor: http://gw2profits.com/json/v2/forge?types=Unlock (sorry, also has others as well, I’ll work on better searchability)
it’s a kitten-ton of work to update that many entries in the wiki, which is why I missed that step :P
What do you mean your stuck with a 9?
the infinite achievement. if you’re at 9 of 10, it stays at 90% completed in your nearly completed section of achievement panel. at least that was a bug a while ago… not sure if it’s still around. but that’s what I understood from what op said. either that or he’s annoyed he was so close to 1 more reward.
I dont think api development is a good spot for that…
I recommend either general discussion of reddit/r/guildwars2 (since they’ll probably delete it if you post it in general)
If anyone other than ‘Mystic’ posted about this, I’d be tempted to file this under “Tin Foil Hats for US$100, Alex.”
hehehe, famous people can be paranoid too.
But I hope I’m not crazy; that something weird is going on. Sounds like others have observed stuff too.
I was curious what you guys thought the explanation was.
I went to sell some Mithril Pistol Barrels for 9s78c, but there was a listing for 1 at 7s. Instead of undercutting that listing, I thought to buy it then have the new lowest listing. So I bought it. then there was a new listing for 1 at 7s. I bought that one. another one. bought it. another one. bought it. I ended up with 12 extra.
now, my first thought was that a bot is VERY frequently monitoring these listings to always maintain a 7s listing to try and get people to sell for 6s99c so it would then buy those and list at 9s78c.
but I question how quickly bots can react. I mean, shouldn’t it at least have a few hundred ms delay? for the last 10 or so I was just clickclickclickclick rapidly and there never was a break in that 1 listing being there (until it wasn’t anymore).
so I was wondering if it wasn’t just a bug in the TP where it said 1 listed but was actually 12?
this happened with others items as well, Seasoned Rifle Stock, Rugged Shoulderguard Paddings, and a few others.
1) Recipe: Minor Sigil of Bursting. I bought it, moved it to my huntsman. tooltip says I already know it. double-clicking or using says I have already learned this recipe. list of huntsman recipes I know says I don’t know it yet. I submitted a in-game bug report on this a few days ago and nothing has happened.
2) Recipe: Major Sigil of Malice. I bought it, moved it to my artificer. double-clicked it, nothing happened. right-click shows the option to destroy and nothing else.
edit: got malice to work. apparently you can’t use it in pvp. bursting still a problem
I can’t believe these are isolated issues otherwise I’d open a ticket.
(edited by Mystic.5934)
this was in pvp. I was down, kept attacking the enemy, ally helped kill enemy, I did not rally. no one else was down.
I assume my ally was the given priority for receiving the rally because he was closer… but shouldn’t a down person have higher priority than a live person? because, you know, they can’t use a rally.
the teams were lopsided 2v4 at the start of the game. moments later we were lopsided 3v5.
why are the teams not filled evenly? and if they can’t be even, put the extra person on the team with more points.
so… in a game of dragonball, winning 300 to 20, asked if I wanted to switch teams as blue team was too small, I politely ignored it, it switched me anyways. as you would expect, blue team lost. bull kitten.
a suggestion to fix this: if you change teams, it will always count as a win for you.
I added a bunch of new recipes provided by queicherius, mostly related to precursor crafting
also, these have now been discovered:
Spirit of the Perfected Focus -102 => 72035
Perfected Focus -103 => 70417
Ad Infinitum -111 => 74155
strangely, Gift of the Fractals is not yet in the api :P (how is ad infinitum present without it?) so it’ll remain temporary id -112 for now.
I updated any relevant recipes to match this change
also added forge recipe for oni blade and monkey lanterns
I think that is more than fair and reasonable.
not to the people who do find those sacs :P
how kittened would you be at paying 350g just to list an item, then demand drys up because of a recipe to make that item for 1/10 the current cost?
"guild_ingredients":[{"upgrade_id":175,"count":3}]
nice ty
for anyone reading this, data on the upgrade_id can be obtained from https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API:2/guild/upgrades
(edited by Mystic.5934)
“update”: happened again, this time with an enemy. so we could of breezed through the ach, but that’s boring.
was actually beginning to think he was a bot :P then he asked why we were the only 2 left
so… I tried to join dragonball arena, but was told the world was full.
I tried again a few seconds later and got in for the last like 30 seconds of a match.
waited the ~10s until transported to a new instance
but instead I was told the world was full :P
now I’m in this arena, no one else is here.
now here’s the part that will likely get this fixed soonest:
I am able to pick up powerups, the powerups do respawn, and they do contribute to achievements.
really only just the invisible and damage, but if there happened to be someone on the other team that this same thing happend to, we could effectively get all of them rather quickly.
nice. ty
probably ori greatsword blade + ori greatsword hilt + stuff
“The Oni Blade can now be obtained from the Mystic Forge.”
any thoughts on the recipe? or is it random chance if you throw in 4 greatswords?
Or it randomly puts you into a position that actually makes it harder to revive.
but those are offset by the times it puts you on the floor below :P love watching the person studder around going “where tf did they go!?”
alternatively, have it remember the state you left it in. so if you minimize all the sections and only leave refining open, if you leave then come back all will be minimized and only refining will be open.
does it not bring you back to life? even from downed?
it reads like it should, but from what I’ve been able to empirically test while in a fight, it seems like it doesn’t. it does bring you back to the ground after being knocked off a cliff, but I think it doesn’t bring back from downed?
let’s start with an example:
Long Fancy Table recipe API
Long Fancy Table wiki
the api does not mention needing 3 Fancy Tables, because those are stored in the guild and not physical items.
my question is: is there a way to automatically include these? like, the wiki has them, is that only because someone went through and manually changed the recipes? or are they listed somewhere else?
I might be evil… I might not be… it makes more sense in the long run: I changed the discipline ‘Buy’ to ‘Merchant’. at least for me, it makes it more clear if buying from merchant vs. TP
But this doesn’t:
fetch("http://gw2profits.com/json/v2/forge?output_ids=24").then(function(response) { if (response.ok) { response.json().then(function(forge) { alert(JSON.stringify(forge)); }); } else { alert("response not oK"); } }).catch(function(error) { alert("error"); });
not sure if it’ll help, but here’s hoping. try this:
fetch("http://gw2profits.com/json/v2/forge/index.php?output_ids=24").then(function(response) {
I’m not sure how other sites do those arguments so seamlessly, but this is my ghetto implementation :P

an exciting screenshot!
Isn’t that why they introduced the 5-shared inventory slots in the gemstore?
1. Permanent Bank Access Express
2. Personal Trader Express
3. Tarrktun Personal Delivery Portal
4. Copper Fed Salvage-o-Matic
5. Mystic Forge ConduitYeah.. Sorry I’m not gonna put keys in a 700 gem slots.
lol. mine goes: CFSoM, conduit, tarrktun, bank, TP
totally agree that keys need to go into the wallet.
they are also a pain to spend :P
It’s not just items that sell very rarely that’s impacted by this. What if an RMT buyer used RMT gold to buy a Legendary you were selling and you lost the gold from Support taking that gold from your account?
better yet: what if you sold a legendary, they paid with RMT gold, then you bought a different legendary with that gold, so you had none in your bank. does the person who sold you that legendary get screwed? what if they did the same thing, etc., and basically the whole lump sum was consumed in listing fees?
(edited by Mystic.5934)
umm, since when did thick leather squares require 4 sections instead of 2?
I added ‘Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*”’ to the .htaccess
does that help?
:(
the first thing that comes to mind is headers. originally it JUST outputted the text (not even <html><body>…) because whenever I tried to load the page directly into json_decode it returned an error (because it was reading in that html as well). Then, I think it was queicherius, that told me to use ‘Content-Type: application/json’, and that made it work fantastically, so it has that header now.
I can’t help but wonder about that (because you say it works if you view it, but not if you have code try to get it, which is what I was observing).
I’ll try to help, but I’m not exactly a javascript master :P what part is it failing at? connecting? downloading the text? decoding the json? what’s an example url that isn’t working?
I salvaged about 10 ascended weapons and about 15 ascended armors and ended up with 1 insignia. the rate is not very good.
yes, all sockets and infusions were returned.
