how did you think they regulated eternity prices?
If you want to sell these for 50c each, give me a PM and we can deal.

as the search here doesn’t work, I’m guessing google search.
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=gw2+Sentinel's+armor&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
this thread is the 2nd result.
btw: google site search is a pretty decent search of this forum. how to:

uhm, you two, this thread isn’t about any changes on the Stealth Mechanic, sorry if that thread title sounds misleading.
I only did it because I came here expecting something about stealth as well, but found something different. Walls of text tend to make people not read them, and I’ve certainly replied without reading before, so I felt a connection with him. coming to a thread I wasn’t expecting was probably why my first post wasn’t that helpful to your cause. which I agree with, btw: too many things get left out of patch notes. also, notices about making things you own worthless are not nearly as visible as they should be (ex: the belongings merchant was removed, also Lionguard Lyns comes to mind)
this seems to be fixed now, so…
near as I can tell, everything else works just fine, just not piece of candy corn
double-click, drag; it won’t withdraw any from the collections in the bank.
I have 1,500 in there – that might have something to do with it?
If they changed stealth or completely redesigned the thief class without initiative to still be a strong class without it I would be completely fine with it.
I couldn’t agree more. mostly, I’d want stealth to just be like 95% invisible, so you could still see that something is there and aoe it.
^_^
kessex hills used to also get kitten’ed
a lot of sigils don’t work together. things like “on kill, gain 1 charge of 5 power”. I looks like sigil of force is one of those that do not stack: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Force
they are planning an update soon that will make all the sigils work together, but this hasn’t happened yet.
OP, your heart is in a good place, but I think you are a bit confused about who you are trying to help.
If the highest offer for a shredded rag is 1s, then there will be people that have offered less than 1s. these people are not offering 50c because that’s how much they think shredded rags are worth or can’t afford more – these people are offering 50c because shredded rags used to be worth 50c and their offer is hella old. Most likely, among the players offering 1s are the same people who are currently offering 50c. It’s quicker to just place a new offer than increase an old offer. Plus, if the price ever goes down, they will be the first that they get sold to.
If you want to help out those who can’t help themselves, listen to other players instead. I occasionally see “[Charged Lodestone] woot! just 249 to go!”. A couple times I’ve even given them a great deal on the charged lodestone I had just got.
one of the most beginner friendly dungeon paths of the whole game
isn’t HotW tied for the highest level dungeon in the game? why should that standing be beginner friendly? AC, CM, and TA should be beginner friendly. I would expect end-game dungeons to be a pain the kisser.

as Yumiko said:
70 AR < 70 AR + 55 stats + 11% damage to/from guards
(23 + 23 + 24 AR, then the rest wvw infusions)
it’s all about min/maxing

I see they posted it in the same spot where they spam billing maintenance notices.
You would think “News and Announcements” would be a good thing to read when it’s not greyed out, and you’d be wrong. 90% of posts there are about not being able to buy gems for 2 hours on such-and-such day. I stopped read anything from there around october.

I do read the forums, read the news, etc.
I never saw any notice about the heirloom vendors going away.
you should put notices of this nature in the game where more than 100 people will actually see them.
I’m going to go actively look for this notice. I’m curious how long it will take me – and I’ll be looking for it, not just happen to stumble upon it. If I don’t come back, send out a search party!
it costs 10c per level of the profession you are switching to. so to switch to a level 400 weaponsmith would cost 40s. not so much if it’s only once, but gets pretty expensive if you’re doing it once a day or week.
unless you get the forge stones for free (from Achievement or Black Lion chests), it is far cheaper to use master kits. they are functionally identical except for the cost to get them.
currently (at 9g/100gems), Master SK costs 61c per salvage and Mystic SK costs 4s96c.
Mystic Salvage Kits are only cheaper if it costs less than 94s to buy 100 gems.
I still have a few found heirlooms and found belongings. is that merchant still around to sell them to? where?
1) if you plan on never using them, you should sell the materials you’re not using. even if it’s simply unlikely you’ll use them, sell them. it’s easy to get them again.
2) off the top of my head:
weaponsmith = ore and wood
huntsman = ore and wood and leather
artificer = ore and wood
armorsmith = ore and leather
leatherworker = leather and cloth
tailor = leather and cloth
jeweler = non-combat ore
so… nothing will do it all. but selecting one weapon and one armor should cover 90% of them
3) crafting boosters will increase how much exp the craft gets and how much you get. they effectively let you level up for less items crafted
4) it costs a lot of coin to switch high-level professions. personally, I just have 4 characters, each with 2 professions
5) I suggest crude or basic for white / blue / green items. Master for level 68+ rares and exotics. Black Lion Salvage Kit when the sigil/rune inside the item is worth 2g or more. sell to the TP the rares and exotics below level 68
6) discovery gives a lot more exp than crafting. that is primarily the way to go to level up a craft fastest. You can discover everything later, but it is probably most convenient to discover it as you need it.
7) yes, only past level 450. and only on refining ascended materials. it is reset every daily reset (currently 5pm pacific time). so if you make one at 4:59pm, you can make one again at 5:00pm
8) there is a max, but it’s not a hard cap. basically, there is no limit. however, each craft takes a certain length of time (somewhere around 1/10 to 1/2 of a second), so 1 hour * 3600 seconds/hour * 2 crafts per second = 7200 craftings
9) recipes are like dyes. you buy one, you use it, then that character is able to make that thing. do not use it on a character that doesn’t have that crafting profession. they are one-time use, but once you know the recipe you can craft as many of those items as you want.
3/1/14 – Collection Expander 720 Gems (normal 800)
3/18/14 – Collection Expanders can now be used up to 5 times per account, increasing the stack size in the Bank Collections tab to 1500! Collection Expanders can be found in the Upgrades category of the Gem Store for 800 gems each.
Really should of been the other way around. Or at least both on the same day.
It’s good to see a ‘Missing Patch Notes’ post, but I’d rather see what was actually missing, and not a complaint that something was missing. In their defense, a lot of things don’t merit the space to include on the patch notes (would you really want to see “we removed one of the rocks near the Spider Queen in Ascalonian Catacombs” and more?)
Judging by how quickly this post got replies, I’m gonna guess that it affects all macs.
So… I’m curious how a bug like this got past the mac testing phase of this patch.
it seems that not everything causes a crash…
I get it most when doing stuff in the inventory such as:
- clicking the gear to deposit collectibles
- using bank contract
- retrieving items from TP (not every time)
At first I got about 15 seconds of inventory shuffling, now I simply open the inventory and the game crashes. no error code, no “GuildWars 2 has unexpected exited”, no nothing.

YES
now please go buy all my overpriced cores on the market
I can state the difference in our opinions!
my belief: “manipulation” is when someone does actions that make new price != old price
your belief: “manipulation” is when someone does actions that make new price >> old price
I think that just because it failed doesn’t mean it wasn’t manipulated
and the new price would be much greater than the old price, at least for an hour or so.
manipulation can be short-term. anything that artificially changes supply/demand would be manipulation. buy all the eternities on the TP = manipulated the eternity market by removing all of the current supply, results in temporarily raising its price. It might not be profitable, but that is manipulation. manipulation is not always a bad thing; it’s rarely a good thing, but it’s not necessary bad. people placing 2 million buy orders is also manipulation – it artificially changes the demand for the item, raising the price. again, only temporary.
especially in gw2, it’s nearly impossible to permanently manipulate something. Even in the real world, if you are the sole supplier of something (such as a new vaccine), you can charge 10 times what it’s worth and people will likely pay it. That huge profit margin will also encourage others to become suppliers and you won’t be the sole supplier for long. You may remain as the only source for many years due to trademarks, but eventually someone will make a generic brand and you’ll lose your monopoly.
yeah, I think I could make more.
Crafting Tool:
Total Cost = (10,454)(26)(80)
Total Return = (20,303)(26)(78) (after taxes)
Total Profit = (9,848)(99)(98)
94.2% profit
I estimate it would take about 50 hours to craft all of that, but that’s still about 200g/hour, let’s say 5 hours/day = 1000g/day.
but, oh sweet peanutbutterbrittle, is that so kittening boring!
I love the extrapolations on the wiki:
+20 requires 524,288 +1 infusions and 524,287 thermocatalytic reagents (7843g in reagents alone)
+30 requires over half a billion +1 infusions and 8 million gold worth of reagents. If you can buy 50 reagents per second, it would take you 124 days just to buy them. It will take ~1.7 years just to refine the +1 into +2 (assuming 5 refinings per second, which I’m not so sure of). total, it will take about 3.5 years to make a single +30.
My setup is similar to Sonic, except I moved the movement keys to SDF instead of QWE. this put my hand more centered, thus able to easily reach more keys.
mouse button 3 = weapon skill 1
QWER = weapon skills 2-5
mouse button 4 = dodge
ZXC = utility skills
1234 = profession skills
T = swap weapon
Shift = interact
tab = target next enemy
G = heal
A = elite
Let me guess..this will go unnoticed for an xx amount of months aswell ?
warriors need more bugs. when a lot of other professions’ bugs get fixed, then they should start on warrior bugs. keep the number of bugs for each profession even.
maybe it has to do with how frequently that page is updated? or is that page supposed to be instant?
I think it doesn’t double the duration, but more of reset it – like the error attempting to sell.
and the duration is somewhere around 1-2 hours.
So if you try to talk again during that time, it resets the timer for another 1-2 hours.
what’s funniest is when absolutely zero other people have said anything before your timeout is over – meaning there was no reason to suppress you in the first place.
Now I want to take a screenshot of me being suppressed while alone inside the home instance
awww. I was looking forward to posting screenshots with titles such as "I needed more dark mater, so I salvaged my Zojja’s Claymore.
I’m holding onto old ascended items in the hopes that they will be salvageable into something more than the rune that’s in it (such as deldrimor or damask)
You know, I haven’t even tried – can you get ecto from salvaging ascended armor? can you even salvage ascended armor!?!? I feel like I tried to salvage an ascended ring a while ago and it wouldn’t let me.
direction is important, but for that JP you actually have to change direction in mid-air. Not only is the hole you fall into not visible from the goggles, but there isn’t even a straight line open to it.
as for porting, that would be rough. the goggles are too far from the start of the puzzle to port you. and falling would kill the porter. they would have to port you in about 3 steps, and each one would be really hard to get back to you.
from what I remember, it takes around 20 minutes to get to the goggles, 20 seconds to fall, and it took me 8 tries before I got it (the time I got it I hit the ledge of the pit, died, body fell in, and it counted :P)
Yes please….. I’d like it for screenshotting! <3
So we don’t have to stand butt to butt look at someone else up close.
that’s exactly what happens!
at best, buy order uses 1/2 the server resources as selling (with your collections tab making up the other 1/2). still way out of balance in what they let us do (I don’t see a buy limit of 14 stacks every 30 seconds to go with that 7 stacks per 30 second sell limit)
because you use your email to log in, and our password is not out net worth?
I’ve got an ascended weapon from a champ box during scarlet’s invasion. I forget which champ it was… pretty sure it wasn’t a knight, because I think it was during the first LA invasion and not the occupation.
It would not be easy to implement this at all..
GW2 already has a first person view. It is in the options panel under ‘developer’, which is only accessible during beta testing (or, probably to anet-symbol players). I discovered it during the edge of the mists beta. It’s what you’d expect. view probably changed with character height – my asura saw a lot of crotches. I highly recommend NEVER to go into battle in 1st person view. But for immersion and JP and screenshots, it would be good to have. only thing I would of changed about it is to be able to quickly get in and out of it via mouse wheel (it was a toggle, so to get in and out of it you had to go into the options)
Still say it’s there to limit database congestion caused by overhead of sell orders.
If it’s the case they can just remove the 250 sell limit.
also the ability to place 20 buy orders per second (by clicking really fast on high-ping networks)
I vote they add private trades between players, but charge 20% tax instead, for the added convenience.
however, private trades also would allow for “my dusk for your dawn” = zero gold traded. 20% of nothin’ is, let me do the math here… nothin’ and a nothin’, carry the nothin’…
Three Hundred Blades
…
A THOUSAND BLADES!
LOL!
try replacing the – with a space?
maybe take out “Limited-Use”?
unfortunately, the first dev post on this thread will probably be something along the lines of “unnecessary bumping, this thread is now closed”
I’m just at the point where I notice something doesn’t work well, I go use something else instead. It’s a shame that content the game designers spent so long creating is being ignored because it’s not working, but that’s how it goes.
hmmm… this is probably why warrior is considered so all-around good. It has simple mechanics, so no major bugs. If all the mesmer bugs were fixed, they’d be much more of a threat.
I’ve suggested it before, I’ll suggest again:
can’t list more than 1 thing per second. and instead of an error if you try to exceed this, just make it so the sell button can’t be clicked until that second is up.
this will have the same affect on bots as this 7 per 10 seconds has now, but have the added benefit of not affecting everyone else in the game.
4s per major rune. you should try to spend less.
crafting major rune of the krait is often cheaper than the cheapest runes on the TP
it takes 1 mithril ingot (~1s) + 1 pile of vile essence (~2s)
at this moment, it’s not much cheaper (essence is almost 3s), but keep your peepers out for it
there are several core + refined material recipes to give major runes – those are also often cheaper than TP runes/sigils, but as far as I know, they aren’t right now.
naw, the sigil is the easiest! I’ve made 4 legendaries, and every single one of those sigils cost less than 3s.
I destroyed 500 of them just in case it’s possible
note: probably 80% of the player base destroyed more than one stack of them. It would be really hard to refund all those.
easy at low levels: warrior, guardian
medium at low levels: ranger, engineer, necro
hard at low levels: mesmer, elementalist, thief
past level ~40, it depends more on how good you are than what profession.
by ‘easy’ / ‘hard’, I mean how often you’ll probably die / how many enemies you kill per death.
