It seems that the recently dailies had 3 pvp, 3 wvw, 2 pve, and 2 anywhere. meaning that in order to get laurels, you were forced to go into pvp or wvw. used to be something like 4 pvp, 4 wvw, 4 pve, and 4 anywhere, so you could get it no matter where you wanted to play. I do not like being incited to play parts of the game I don’t want to be playing.

Superior sigil of generosity is the only thing even remotely qualified to have upgrade extractor used on it.
Every single other use of upgrade extractor is coin thrown down the drain by the bucket full.
They must realize this, and I suspect upgrade extractor is overpriced because they never wanted it in the game in the first place.

Mariner’s Compass? It used to have magic find, but they removed magic find, so now you get to select which stats it will have. I believe you right-click it and select ‘select stats’

On a related note, I still have a few old style fractal weapons without stats (they do have damage). when they made new fractal weapons into skins, they took the stats off the old ones for some reason.

I have a feeling that something like this would happen after the big patch, so I downloaded all the items and recipes on Monday.

I’ll probably sound like a noob, but is there a simple way to download all the items and recipe details? /item_details.json and /recipe_details.json seem to only be capable of one item/recipe at a time, which would take a long time to get them all. I know about items.json, but that’s only the item_ids

actually, gw2crafts.net does include sell-back costs in their calculations. I don’t know if they use buy order or sell listing value to calculate that…

I really hope they don’t consider upgrade extractor a viable option for these situations… that item is 200% useless. (that is not a math error – it is literally more than twice as good to buy new runes/sigils than one upgrade extractor)

can confirm you can not salvage anything ascended. if you try, nothing happens (it doesn’t even tell you you can’t)

I hear chef is the cheapest to level.
as cake said, gw2crafts.net is a good guide for how to level crafts easily.

then sell those gems for gold and buy 2 divinity runes for the price of 1 extractor.

I’ve salvaged cultural armor before.
but that armor you show is transmuted. maybe you transmuted the looks onto karma item’s stats?

all professions have spots where profits can be made. for maximum profits, craft all the professions!
what are you trying to get out of crafting? (what guides?)

once account bound or soulbound, there is no way to sell it on the TP. best you can do to recoup cost is to salvage or throw into the MF, though I would recommend saving it in case you ever want it on an alt.

so… rings and amulets and such are now account bound. I know they said ascended stuff will stay account bound, but it just didn’t occur to me that that would include ascended rings, so I’m sure someone else didn’t know about it, which is why I’m telling you. still won’t help you if you already have 3 of each ring, but at least they aren’t absolutely useless if you want to go from one ring to another.

so I logged in today and it seems like all the pvp skins are there now. 138 armor skins total, then more of the weapons, which is far more than my characters had equipped and such, so I guess it was just a delayed addition or something. yay.

since the supply for rune of melandru will go up 3000%, you have to realize that the price for rune of melandru will drop to under 1g before anyone can sell them for more than that. so 42k karma for 1g rune + 1 ecto is actually a fair deal, and perfectly in line with 30k karma = 1 g.

make sure to add the skins to your wardrobe before deleting them – so you wont have to pay for badges to get the skin again (and the item you apply the skin to should be salvageable, btw)

can you equip/unequip/equip/unequip/equip/etc. and get 5 hours of dmg reduction, then keep it while doing pve stuff? actually, I would expect it to go away if you change zones or wp, so nm.

I still have no idea why they made karma and wvw items non-salvageable. 42,000 karma to get 1 ecto = 120k karma/gold. orrian boxes give 1g per 30k karma. some of the runes and sigils are hard to get, but they wouldn’t be if karma items were salvageable.
dungeon items are salvageable. give me one reason that you can get soldier’s inscription from dungeon weapons but can’t even salvage invader’s weapons.

you should hold onto your sigils until they are profitable. it’s just unusually low right now because everyone’s grandmother is selling them after they are in your same position.

after paying 20g for the extractor, you’d think you’d be able to get something usable out of the item.

my money’s on a bug that lets that golem take like 200x normal damage. no other skills were used, and GS #1 doesn’t keep adding up total damage for multiple castings.

The problem is, they don’t know which specific sets we bought for the achievement. You only had to buy one armor weight set a tier, per race.

kitten. you’re right. I bought 90 armors that were essentially junk to me, I forgot I had choices which junk to go with. maybe it would randomly give you light, med, or heavy for each tier and armor type? I shouldn’t give you all 3.

I’ve been wanting to give away gold, but I haven’t seen any heart-wrenching-enough and sincere pleas. most people are yelled at when they ask, so that kinda discourages anyone else. not to mention there is something to be said for how much you appreciate things earned yourself instead of given to you (I love my sunrise after all those hours of making it compared to barely remembering I have kraitkin because I bought it off the TP).
I’ve been considering just giving 1g to all forum members who post something like “Hi, I’m new here, which profession should I pick?”

aside from playing the TP:
guild commendations: ~15g from 1 hour once/week
dungeons: ~12g from 2 hours once/day
world bosses/temples: ~75s from 10 minutes x ~12 bosses = 9g in 2 hours once/day
so that’s 162g in 29 hours every week
you’ll get Dawn in one month.

upgrade extractors should cost less than the price of a black lion salvage kit (like 10 gems per extractor). if they did, there would be no issue.

so… a few months ago I decided to complete this section of achievements to buy one of every cultural armor.
after unlocking The Emperor’s New Wardrobe, I sold them back to the NPC for a small amount of the purchase price back.
now, with the wardrobe, I would have to buy them all again to get them unlocked. Whereas a new person could do exactly what I did and get them unlocked.
I’m requesting that if someone has this achievement (or any of the race-specific ones) completed, then at some point they had the items, so those skins should be unlocked in the wardrobe (like how precursors are unlocked if you own the legendary – because you would of had to of owned it at some point)

you can join a pvp match without going to heart of the mist?
regardless, I did go to heart of the mist and stood where the lockers used to be.
maybe I had to equip them when I originally got them? I would basically open the ach chest, then deposit all collectibles, then salvage any that were still in my inventory (apparently pvp salvaged materials are now gone, which is disappointing but at least that’s mentioned in the patch notes)

I was able to buy 34 of these before the patch for like 1.2g. keep going up!

you can do what I do: stick them at the bottom of the bank in case they are ever salvageable.
or you can just say ‘to kitten with it’ and delete it and not get that 37s ecto.
I haven’t bought any wvw weapons yet, but I have had some account bound exotics drop that could be used for nothing else, so I collect them and throw them into the MF when I get 4. But you say these can’t be forged, which sounds familiar

I can confirm my wardrobe has zero skins that my pvp locker had.
I was under the impression pvp locker was going to be added to wardrobe?
An easy way to check: I’ve opened 28 achievement chests (>13,500 AP), each one had 6 or more pvp items (some were duplicates, let’s say 5 new ones on average) = 140 skins.
in my wardrobe, I see about 30 skins unlocked.

I got T charges from my T stones, T crystals, T splitters, and 5 free charges. 149 charges in total. how they get there is a bit wonky… converting T stones, T crystals and T splitters goes directly into your wallet. the 5 free charges from the gem store were an item in your inventory you have to consume 5 times.

you have the twilight skin. you can apply that to any item you want. you currently have one applied to an exotic greatsword, just like you did 2 days ago.
I would of preferred having the switchable legendary stats instead, but it looks like it has exotic stats transmuted over them. a transmutation splitter would of cleared that up, but I think those aren’t functional anymore. If you transmuted it before the legendary stats became switchable and ascended, they gave you a free transmutation splitter for that purpose.

go to your wardrobe, select an item type, select a new skin. on the right it will say something like, “Transmutation charges: 36 … Cost to Apply skin: 1” is that count correct?

if this is true, you’ll need to open a support ticket and ask if you can do a trade that way.

gw2spidy and gw2tp show that unid dye has not changed prices in the last 18 hours. I’m thinking there’s a problem with the TP.

in 2 weeks they will have a special: convert transmutation stones to transmutation charges at a 1:1 rate.

I have a level 40 character. Just logged in and boom down to only 2 trait points.

each new trait point counts for 5 old trait points. so instead of 5 to get to next trait skill, it now only takes 1, and every 1 trait now gives as many stats kitten used to give.

talk to the merchant behind the TP. he will basically sell you an account bound version and charge you a soulbound version (converts soulbound into account bound). ummm… in LA he was behind the three vendors (up the stairs)… not sure where they are now. It’s the same guy you buy holiday weapons from with Black Lion Tickets.

also, you need to have the soulbound version unequiped in your inventory in order to trade it in.
that wiki page also has locations of these merchants (basically every major city – probably near that city’s TP)

salvage the item. it’s even cheaper than transmuting was (you get ectos and maybe an inscription instead of nothing) pretty sure BLSK is cheaper than T charges…

What you suggest is not a gold sink, it is a income nerf – a minor technicality.
Inflation is not why you have to pay 1000g for your Dust, supply and demand is.
“inflation” is the raise in price of /all/ items, not just luxury items.
Champ trains aren’t even in the top-5 non-TP ways to make gold in-game. To list a few better ways: daily dungeon runs (there are about 10 paths that give more gold/hour than champ train), guild commendations, world bosses & guesting. champ train is just the easiest.
If you want cheaper Dusts, just go make them, which will increase supply and decrease their price.

the keys are about 4 times as expensive compared to individually buying the things you get out of them directly. But some people like to gamble, and they may end up spending $1 and getting something worth $100. But for every one that gets that, there are 400 that don’t.

I believe the wardrobe skins will not even have an upgrade socket. The way I’ve interpreted it is it’s just a skin, and you apply that skin to any item (of the same type) you want, and that item would already have your upgrade. I would bet that it then won’t be considered a karma item, so you could salvage it. like how the radiant/hellfire armor works from achievement chests.
I think you’ll still be able to buy karma items for karma, then you’ll have the skin in your wardrobe, but that karma item will still be non-salvageable. your workaround is what I’ve always done if the upgrade is worth it.
upgrade extractor is a piece of garbage. you can literally sell the gems it takes to buy it for gold, and use that gold to buy /any/ upgrade you’re trying to extract off the TP, and still have more than half the gold left over to spend on something else. I believe they only added the upgrade extractor because we asked for it, and they didn’t want to give it but wanted to seem obliging.
the transmute/salvage is far cheaper – around 4g vs. the 22g for a upgrade extractor.

I think new members to a guild can’t add to the guild vault… or take from it… one or both of the two. It took a friend of mine like 3 days to be old enough to do stuff with the guild vault.

If you are not sure how to rename a file I have attached and image on the easy way to do it. Right click the file, select get info. Under name and extension just change the “2” at the end of Guild Wars 2, to a 3 and click the “x” to close the window and the name will be changed.

easier: select the “Guild Wars 2” application icon, then press enter (or return), edit the name how you want, then press enter (or return) again.
