you get the most extra karma from doing 10 levels below your personal level. I also highly recommend popping a karma booster and ice cream food as the 4th boss is doing their death throws. Highest I’ve got is around 16k karma. you get it when you get the daily chest (or at the time you would normally get the daily chest, if you already got the daily that day), which is usually a few seconds after the big lootable chest appears.

you could always just wait for the next radiant/hellfire item. I forget when it is, but AP is unlimited, so you can just pick the one you want then.

I know many people talk about making massive amounts of gold every day. I would suspect some may. I don’t believe as many do as claim to do so. When someone says they make 200-300g a day everyday I’m suspicious. For me a very realistic amount made daily is 50g, good days 75g and depending on how much time you spend 100g on weekends. Then of course you can make considerable amounts correctly speculating for patch days.

I will usually make about 400g/week from 3 hours of crafting, then 50g/day from 30 min of salvaging, then 20g/day from a bit more crafting. I don’t do this every week and day, but it’s very reliable when I do. After a while, it just gets boring and you want to go kill some pixelated toads. That’s edging on 200g/day
Those are my ‘earning a living’ things. Investments shouldn’t really be included due to unpredictability and time scales (“well, this month I earned 1000g, but last month I lost 100g, so 900g in 2 months = 30g/day…”)

We should hold a contest for who can make the most gold in 1 week! That would be fun, though it would depend entirely on people’s reports. I’d be willing to put up prizes, but they couldn’t be too extravagant otherwise someone will likely lie. There would have to be rules… like: you can sell gathered materials, but only materials gathered during that week. people should need to include screenshots of everything they have before and after. How would SP and karma count? like, if they were on the verge of making a legendary, that clearly shouldn’t count. This is getting to be a long list of regulations… probably too complicated.

it’s been a while since I made mine, but this is the general order of things:
get fractal capacitor (1350 relics)
make it ascended, and add infusion slot (500 relics + SP + mist essence)
add 5 Agony Resistance (500 relics + 250 ecto + mist essence)
make it glow in the dark (500 relics + 250 ecto + mist essence)
—it doesn’t actually illuminate a room, but you can see it in the dark.

a lot of teq raids are done on overflows so that people from all servers can do it, regardless of guesting.
to answer your question: nope, not possible to guest to a 3rd server.

You know what really grinds my gears? when you guest somewhere, then you get put in an overflow. When the thing comes up to ask if you want to join the actual server you wanted to join, and you say ‘yes’, it produces some error and you can’t get in.

2 legendaries (soulbound), 2 full sets of ascended (soulbound), ~10,000g worth of investments (when I bought them – hopefully worth double that in a month or two when I sell them), 4,000g on hand, 14,000 gems.

Still the only thing it affects are players who don’t actually research demand numbers when choosing items to trade in.

It barely budged the buy and sell prices that have been dropping all month. Sounds like someone who bought so back when they were 55-60g each thinking the price would only go up. Now they are resorting to tactics to get the skin on the top demand list at the TP to advertise it.

If you order 250 for 1 copper, you can actually put in multiple orders of 250 before the price and amount resets. Manually i usually get in 10-12 clicks before it resets, with an autoclicker you can manage 250k orders before it resets.

Taking the orders off again, will take some more time though….

faster ping = less clicks before it updates. Some people intentionally play via tethered to their phone for that 1.5 second ping just so they can place 20 buy orders at once.

Anet’s stance on macros is ‘1 click = 1 action’. Some examples as I see them:
1) click 10 times real fast before the page refreshes = you’re clicking 10 times and getting 10 actions = legal
2) click once, program clicks 100 times for you = you’re clicking 1 time and getting 100 actions = not legal
3) bind mouse wheel to click and scroll up real fast to produce 100 clicks = you’re doing the clicks even if they are real easy; 100 clicks = 100 actions = legal
4) click once, program clicks 250 times for you to open a stack of bags = you’re clicking 1 time and getting 250 actions = technically not legal. however, I would say it could be argued that ‘opening a stack of bags’ is the action, which would make it 1 click = open 1 stack of bags, so could be legal by lawyer interpretation.

2 million buy orders can be placed via example 1 above (which I would think is legal) in 2-3 hours; quicker if you have a crummy internet connection. If you have an auto-clicker such as in example 2 (which I would think is not legal), those 2 million buy orders could be placed in under 10 minutes. If you check spidy for items where this happens, you’ll notice it takes like 3-4 hours for these items to go from 100 to 2 million buy orders, so I believe they are doing them legally. Removing them legally would also take 2-3 hours

I guess I’m confused about what this means. Like, how much is ‘all’? at minimum, light armor requires 2 bolts of silk + 1 thick leather square + 1 spool of silk. Except light only gives cloth back when salvaged, so 2 bolts of silk take 6 silk scrap to make. Are you saying some items always give 6 silk scrap when salvaged?
Level-appropriate light coats will give 3.1 silk scraps on average when salvaged. I never bothered with min/max you could get, but it’d be reasonable to guess it’s 1-5. But coats take more cloth than 6…
Unless you mean it’s guaranteed to give a silk scrap? To which I would say that every item will do that.

reset used to be at 4 pm. if it’s now at 5, and I had to set my clocks ahead 1 hour, and reset is now at 5 pm, then server time didn’t change at all; only my time did.

hmmmm… am I on server time anymore? it was so handy knowing that server time = my time, but we just had daylight savings, so I think I’m actually now an hour ahead of server time.

I do! But I only use my Mystic Kits for Rares (I save my BLK’s for Exotics). I don’t want to get tons of green upgrades back; that just got super annoying when the Matic was bugged.

I salvage my Rares for Ectos, and nowadays I salvage my Exotics too since I need Dark Matter, so there’s not much to use my Stones to combine with.

Most exotics you should use mystic/master on. As a general rule, I’d say that you need to get 3g worth of potential stuff out of the item to merit using a BLSK (maybe an expensive sigil, maybe an insignia, etc.) unless of course you are just overflowing with BLSK and can’t find another use for them…

Would be a good idea. I know I’ll never use these porta-TP-delivery-guys (have perma one). would be nice if they weren’t as wasteful.
It should definitely be 1/3, 1/4, or even 1/5 of buy price. So a key would cost 125 gems to buy, or you’d get 40 gems when sold. If so, that key farming could net like 80 gems/hour = 4.88g/hour. probably too much. let’s say 1/5; 25 gems back = 3g/hour.
I wouldn’t sell the repair canisters or revive orbs I have, even though I rarely use them. But I would sell glory boosters and porta-merchants.

I was in an overflow, we killed 2 knights but the 3rd was at like 10% health when the timer ran out. also when the timer ran out, I got the option to move off overflow to the main server. I picked up the 6 champ boxes, moved to the DB server, found that they had succeeded in killing the knights, so I went and joined the fight against the prime holo (which we won).
anyways, dragonbrand kills these knights reliably (at least when I play from ~6-10pm)

For the longest time I thought this was intended, which was why I never used this skill.
I didn’t realize it was instant after they killed something, but I did notice that using it on people guaranteed their death later on. I figured it was intended that them killing something wouldn’t rally them back to life because then the skill would be OP.
now that you mention it, that does sound like a bug.

Of course. That’s because Azurite is not a Soldier (primary power) but a Sentinel (primary vit) – and there are no ascended Sentinel versions.

like, for 500 jeweler, to sell silver ingots instead of silver ore (when it spikes due to a patch). Some days I can do this at a profit normally, but the ingots do usually sell for more than the ore, so wouldn’t that extra 5% be good when you’re expecting the price to go up 100%? like 105% profit instead?
one thing I’ll bring up is that might change the number of mithril required to make a mithril ingot, for example. Was it thick leather they did that to? I remember I was hoarding some non-refined and a little refined when that happened.

From what I’m hearing about the chinese gaming community, I’ll go ahead and predict that players with commander tags with vastly outnumber players without them. Like at least 90% will have them within a few months.

aside from all other points made here, they really should change than masterwork and rare essence of luck to exotic and legendary…

50 or 100 essence of luck is hands down the worst thing on there, by a wide margin. here, I made a list:

at least 200 and 500 luck is a little better (would knock out about half of those dots).
It’s like giving out 2-10 gold prizes, throwing in a few 90 silvers here and there, then for the really unfortunate, here’s 2 copper. In fact, I would prefer 2 copper to 50 luck.

Vol’s right, and your recipe is further wrong. The real recipe:
Master Salvage Kit + Jorneyman’s Salvage Kit + Fine Salvage Kit + 3 Mystic Forge Stones -> Mystic Salvage Kit with 250 charges (which is functionally identical to the Master Salvage Kit)
note that it is cheaper to buy 10 Master Salvage Kit (which has the same number of uses) than make a Mystic Salvage Kit. Unless, of course, you get the Mystic Forge Stones for free (from achievements or BL Chests). This will continue to be the case until gold -> 100 gems goes below 94s, which is likely never to happen.
Also, the Mystic Salvage Kit is tied for 2nd best kit in the game. Black Lion Salvage Kit is the best, then Mystic and Master are both 2nd best.

1) Don’t spend gold. If you’re really poor or just starting out, masterwork items work just fine – they have like 82% as much stats as exotics and cost about 1/50 as much. No latest-and-greatest, no new skins, no converting gold to gems (unless you plan on these being an investment).
2) Play the TP. Be creative here – the less obvious something is, the more you can make off it. Doesn’t have to be flipping or guessing what will be popular in the future – crafting and salvaging are both really good ways to make coin – just be sure that what you do will make a profit before you do it.
3) Be patient. Items don’t have to sell within 5 minutes of posting. If someone undercuts you, odds are both of yours will sell soon. I’ll usually only relist something if it’s not sold within 2-3 days.
4) Read patch notes and be active when the patch goes live. Look for things that change items and judge how people will take it. example: they recently said that 2-handed weapons will soon be able to take 2 sigils, within 12 hours half the sigils on the market doubled in price. If you had bought them when they first announced that, you could of doubled your coin.

That would be their fault then. On the login splash screen, links are provided to update players about the latest happenings. Be it patch notes or planned changes, Anet does a great job communicating via their official website and forums.

and the links open your web browser. it would literally be easier for them to copy/paste whatever they have to say directly to the login page than copy/paste links there. They just want visits to their website so badly they are willing to sacrifice our knowledge to get them.

when I would run that with my ranger, I thought it was bugged because I would clearly miss the lightning, but be hit anyways. anyways, it turned out my pet was the one getting hit and it counted as me getting hit. As soon as I hid the pet, I stopped getting hit by them.

months? sheesh. well, that just goes to show how well their communication is. where was the original source, anyways? I’ve only heard it from other players.

if glory booster from a BL chest is considered ‘winning’ it, then the paper your lottery ticket is printed on is also ‘won’ upon purchase. glory boosters came out of every third BL chest. They are practically a set reward and not subject to rng.
They are too easy to save up, because they are given out like candy – candy that you got instead of chocolate pve boosters. Even if you use them 100% of the time you pvp, you’re going to accumulate them. I use them whenever I pvp. I just only pvp for an hour or so every other week (it’s a guild tradition to inhibit the guild leader’s pvp daily progress).
It’s bogus that they are catering to the 14 people that saw their post and went out of their way to use their glory boosters, but leave the thousands of us that didn’t want to play pvp just because some boosters were expiring swearing under our breaths.

those chests really need to feel more like a chest of goodies. Like, you open it and out pops like 5 random cheap things (such as essence of luck, bag of alliance supplies, crafting materials, booster, …) and 1 random expensive thing (such as a key, rev orb, perma contract, repair canister, ticket scrap, …)
currently, opening it feels so meh because it’s crappy things and 1 crappier thing and rare rare chance of something useful. If you opened it and got a lot of crappy stuff, that at least feels like a lot. Wouldn’t you prefer a chest that gave 8 greens items, 1-3 of each metal ore, and 3 × 50 essence of luck to one that has a 1 in 10 chance to give an exotic item and a 9 in 10 to give a blue item?

in a TP flip, the buy orders get increased (usually by 1c) and the sell listings get decreased (usually by 1c).
buy orders being increased will make people trying to sell the item quickly very happy
sell listings being decreased will make the people trying to buy the item quickly very happy
I made a tool that tells you what is the most profitable to flip (it gets the prices from spidy then compares buy orders to sell listing prices). Some of the things go up to 1200+% profit. It has an upper limit filter (so it won’t show things above 400%, for example), because anything stupid high like that is very very very unlikely you will be able to buy it at that low of a price and sell it at that high of a price.
Current Top-5 highest % profit flips:
Vigorous Dredge Barricade (rare lvl 50) – buy for 1s38c, sell for 1g11s10c = 6,743%
Dire Ceremonial Hammer of Intelligence (exotic lvl 70) – buy for 5s65c, sell for 4g20s97c = 6,233%
Rampager’s Shield of Grawl Slaying (exotic lvl 63) – buy for 6s24c, sell for 1g59s10c = 2,067%
Rejuvenating Gladiator Boots (rare lvl 35) – buy for 4s13c, sell for 97s93c = 1,916%
Rejuvenating Dredge Spear (rare lvl 50) – buy for kitten, sell for 95s45c = 1,903%

I usually don’t bother with flipping. Too much waiting, too unlikely you’ll buy/sell at those prices, too slow imo. Things in the mid-range are much better to flip. Like, 100% profit on a 1g purchase is, in my mind, ideal.

reason 1) it’s more profitable to craft the mats into inscription/insignia and sell those
reason 2) people like to make legendaries
reason 3) when farmed, they come in slowly
reason 4) inflation
reason 5) they were underpriced before and now they are fairly priced

you do get the +5 stats outside of wvw, but not the +1% dmg to / -1% dmg from guards.

Yes. And you make it sound like they are offering a limited-time chance to exchange glory boosters for something else, which they are not doing.
Also, a lot of people have more glory boosters than they are able to use in the time they gave people to use them. maybe 1 month of notice? a guildie of mine still has like 400 glory boosters. But let’s assume he didn’t have more when notice was first gave – he would have to be actively doing pvp for 13 hours a day to actually use them in time. He does play a lot, but no where near 13 hours.

This one day this last december, several guildies and I exchanged BLSK gifts. I ended up with around 2 bank tabs of them. 60 is a small chunk of 10,000 but not insignificant

There are actually even more ways to profit, apart from salvageable items. Lootbags come to mind (some also drop ore), and especially crafting components. Iron is spiking? When Iron and steel Ingots passed 10s, i bought up all crafting components requiring iron (Iron greatsword blades, Steel Hammer heads, etc.) that were listed on the tp under value and relist them a little under their current crafting value.

Checking gw2crafts.net and its crafting guides also gives you an idea, which crafting components are undervalued and will be bought up.

meanwhile, I noticed that all the iron greatsword blades and steel hammer heads I had made 2 days before (which would of made me around 40% profit once sold) sold suspiciously fast :P I told you guys, I miss 5 hours of patch day and this kitty happens.
