Mystic’s Gold Profiting Guide
Forge & more JSON recipes
first thing that comes to mind: were you representing the guild? it’s not enough to just be in the guild. you can only represent one guild at a time.
I got endless griffon tonic this last saturday.
7g for recipe from TP
20 Bottle of elonian Wine = 6g17s
100 Flawless Snowflake = 3g38s
100 Pile of Bloodstone Dust = I have too many to ever use
Total = 16g55s
Look on my face when I transform = Priceless
http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/7850 (should be spidy pages for the other ones, if they differer at all)
zerker needs berserker stats.
all-around builds needs all-around stats, such as celestial
divinity runes can be good for pve, but not if you’re trying to go for pure damage.
I would of bought on-sale bank tabs… if I hadn’t already maxed out my bank long before they went on sale! I wish we could do returns / price matching.
my plush griffon will be able to shoot lazzzers from it’s eyeballs O_O YES YES YES!
along similar lines, I was using the griffon tonic and got knockbacked by a mob in open world, and there was a full kb animation for it where it was on it’s side, down on the ground, and picked itself up. gotta hand it to them for preparing every eventuality.
silk was a pretty good thing to invest in. used to cost 8c each, now they’re 75c. linen only went from about 50c to 5s.
on second thought, both are about 1000% profit.
bolts of silk have a slight profit advantage over scraps. barely worth your time. I suggest refining half of them into bolts, then listing 250 of each at a time. same for gossamer (except like 50 at a time). do the sell listings, they’ll go quick enough. then just list a new 250 when those sell
they also need to not go away whenever you go anywhere (change instance, wp, etc.)
they do not attack nor can they be attacked. they server absolutely zero tactical advantage.
well… maybe in wvw they will make a zerg look 1.5 times as big as it really is?
I am very confident it will be on sale some time in the future.
There must be a better solution.
that’s why we wanted the upgrade extractor. then they went and threw it in our faces.
Tcrystals are your cheapest option (both to move the rune and to get it back)
at worst it’s worth around 1g.
I believe quicker and cheaper would be a 0-20 experience scroll + 60 tome of knowledge (which can be bought for 1500 glory + 20s each) = 90,000 glory and 12g
but it’s good to have options for those that don’t pvp every day
hehe. for the lowlow price of:
+30 AR infusion costs about 85,899,345g for the +1 infusions + 8,031,588g for the Thermocatalytic Reagent = 93,930,933g
coupled with +30 stat? I’d estimate maybe 400,000,000g?
how else did you expect the price to drop? I suppose you could take up hacking, but I was being realistic. Anet isn’t going to change the drop rate – the average price of precursors is comparatively quite low (I’d estimate around 100g). So the only thing left is demand. Alfador said it pretty well: the price is what is it because there are people willing to pay that much for it and people willing to sell it for that much.
naw. I’m the guy that will tell you the moon orbits the earth and we only see it because light from the sun is reflecting off it’s surface and about how the difference phases are produced.
even if it did, why would you want to? if you buy the gems with real $$, it is more economical to change the gems into gold, buy the rune off the TP, then celebrate that you have 6g left over.
the TP is world-wide. so it also costs 3600g for me to buy eternity on dragonbrand.
you could do the math to see how much it would cost if you made it from scratch (buy the materials and put them together)
@BunnyAssassin.5374:
Firstly: If you are posting here, you already have a game account, so I am a little confused about your situation.
Secondly: If you didn’t receive an email, l’d suggest checking your junk/spam folder to see if it’s there.
Lastly: If you feel you should have received an email (again: I’m confused, because only people with game accounts can post on the forums), please contact community@arena.net and we’ll investigate.
Thanks.
His gf has GW2, he wants to play it, submitted a video, didn’t get an email, gf let him use her account to ask that question.
tell me now: did anyone make their video using Machinima?
(an example of Machinima is the ‘Make Love, not Warcraft’ episode of Southpark – every time they are in-game)
it would be royally awesome to have your previous character in another game make the oath
I could come up with a way to make it non-crummy: gift 1 to friend, buy 25 at 40% off, only use on runes of divinity. 130 gems each costs 9.88g to get, divinity rune sells for 10.8g. net loss of only 70s. sorry, that’s as close as I can get.
unless…
does this also remove the soulbound and accountbound part of the item?
if so, then I’ll definitely buy 50 of these.
2nd place player does not get nearly enough grounded to deal with the fake powerup onslaught they are subjected to.
I’m thinking they didn’t price it to sell or ever be used – they priced it so we’d stop asking for it.
I expect BL chests will also drop them. not that anyone should expect them out of those, just saying that some people will get ‘free’ ones
what really grinds my gears is inconsistency in how long it takes to craft things. like, literally, the time that the bar takes to move across the screen. 1 second to make a Huntsman’s longbow stave vs. 0.25 seconds to make Armorsmith’s Helmet Casing.
weaponsmith, armorsmith, leatherworker, tailor, jeweler are consistent: everything weaponsmith takes 1 second, everything on the other 3 take 0.25 seconds.
huntsman and artificer have some items around 1 second, and some at 0.25 seconds.
“Mystic Flusher” is new to me. “Mystic Toilet”
sorry, your greatswords are gone. what comes out of the mystic forge is dictated by what goes in. If 4 greatswords go in, 1 greatsword comes out. if 1 greatsword + 1 sword + 1 longbow + 1 trident go in, a random weapon will come out.
I didn’t think it was possible to throw mixed types in there (weapons + armor), so I’m not sure how you got a helm from greatswords. what were the other 2 items?
I’m sure at the time you also didn’t think deldrimor would ever drop below 7g. all it’ll take is time. before you know it, it will cost you more to make it than buy it.
underleveled high level fractals.
for example: get your fractal level to 30, then run fractal level 20.
every run takes about an hour and will get you about 8000 karma. not to mention fractal relics which can be turned directly into obsidian shards.
you can’t say they don’t want a direct karma to gold conversion when they specifically add exactly that. orrian boxes are more direct than salvaging karma items.
salvaging karma items would be about the same, if not lower, return. sure, the first 10 or so listers would think they’re making bank, but when they get undercut in less than 8 seconds, they’ll be sad. If karma items could be salvaged, all that would happen is people would do it and prices of particular runes and sigils would drop to half their current price.
for those first 10 players, they would theoretically make about twice as much gold as the orrian boxes give. within a minute, however, that margin would drop to zero or negative.
all of the crafts will give exp by leveling them up. chef is the cheapest.
the remaining 6, however, will only give 10 if you get them to level 500. and going from 400 to 500 costs around 100g each (while 1 to 400 costs about 8g)
so if you get the other 7 crafts to 400, you could get about 52 levels for about 50g. since you’re already level 50, you will only need to max 4 of them and then a tad bit more
Salvaging karma items would be a direct method to turn karma into gold. Something ANet does not want and the in-game economy would be damaged by the influx of materials, upgrades and gold.

argument rejected!
where were you guys when we needed this argument during the dragon bash achievements?
“50 effigies lit” – there were only like 24 on the whole planet, and you had to revisit them a couple times after daily reset.
“150 pinatas pummeled” – same thing; only like 30 in LA that you had to visit every day for a week
“100 fireworks launched” – at least you could buy firework launchers and just mouse mash while watching a movie
“250 zhaitaffy eaten” – it’s the daily feast ach on steroids
I’m just glad it’s only 3g and 3s instead of 250g and 250s and 250c and 250 sweaters.
*400
pretty sure you get the ach at 400 for all 8:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Title
Master Crafter Level all 8 Crafting skills to 400.
hmmm, maybe there is another one for 500 that I or the wiki don’t know about? also, you can’t get jeweler or chef to 500 yet.
see i was tell you the truth
you should sell your ectos for more. you could easily get 39s by using sell listings.
so let me get this straight, you want all of us to stop buying dusk so you can buy it? while I agree with your philosophy, I disagree with your expectations of reality.
quicker = get 500 armorsmith on character that spent the laurels
cheaper = collect more laurels and buy with correct character (assuming you don’t have anything else you need to spend laurels on)
celestial. it’s the only one that’s pretty good at everything, rather than great at some things and horrible at all the others.
balsa wood is a hardwood
hard vs. soft is what type of tree it comes from, not it’s physical description.
btw: damask only requires like 3.5g worth of materials to craft. the price it sells for is not reflected in what it costs to make it. it’s just that it’s new and more people have to have it asap than with weapons. the only reason the others didn’t go up so much is that there was already a supply of them to take from.
the best part is how much you have to pay to switch between which crafts you want to use.
regarding #4: I’d like to turn your attention to the Fashion achievements.
essentially, they are 5 AP for each full set of cultural armor. If you get all of them, that’s 130 AP for 90 cultural armors (from tier 1-3)
Tier 1 costs 2g88s
Tier 2 costs 7g10s
Tier 3 costs 119g
for 5 full sets (one for each race), that’s 644g90s
I believe you can sell them back to a merchant for like 1/15 of their cost, so your net expense is 601g90s66c
basically you’re paying 4g63s PER ACHIEVEMENT POINT
now tell me again how paying 3g3s for 30 AP (10s10c per AP) is outrageous. You certainly don’t have to do it, as you can just do dailies instead. So the only reason you would do it is if you are AP hunting, in which case there is no cost high enough to keep you from your goal.
other responses:
1. I wish wp cost was higher. it’s too convenient imho. I find myself wping within the same zone far too often – get out and see the scenery!
2. the market would be far too unpredictable without TP fees. for starters, there would always be 1c difference between buy and sell prices (what with everyone undercutting each other every 10 seconds because relisting is free)
3. you can make money. you’re just not supposed to be making 40g/hour from farming temporary bosses. makes the game too easy and you stop playing. it’s for your own good.
you don’t need to make it to the end before health runs out. you need to make it to the peppermint platform that tixx is next to (just before the stairway of presents).
when you are on that platform, you are healed to full and don’t take damage. you can then talk to him for some choices. after the stairway is the snowballs – you need to be patient for that one, but quick as well
I think I’m a pretty good jumper and I make it to his platform with about 2500 hp left (about 15%). That is close to the fastest it can be done in. so not a lot of time to lollygag. using a mouse for turning is a requirement. Basically the only time I’m not holding down the forward key is for those two candy canes sticking out of the wall.
http://dulfy.net/2012/11/17/gw2-ascended-gear-and-infusion-recipes/
is a good ascended trinket resource.
ascended accessories are purchasable with guild commendation or laurels. all you have to do is pick the celestial one – it’s the same price.
pro tip: DO NOT BUY TWO OF THE SAME TRINKET FOR THE SAME CHARACTER. your character can not equip two Ancient Mursaat Token, for example. Every stat combination has 2 infusion slot options. If you want two of the same stat combo, you will need 1 offensive and 1 defensive infusion slot. Same goes for rings.
I believe that jump location is too far from the ground to make a portal – you’re more likely to hit a pipe on the way down that the ground near the bottom, but go ahead and give it a shot.
anyways: you can’t just jump that one. you need to guide your fall in mid air. it’s HARD. and failing means a LONG running back to try again. I seem to recall I never actually made that jump, but got credit anyways. something along the lines of hitting a pipe just above the hole, dying, but falling into the hole. I do know I have credit for it, however it happened
“keep the prices high” – LOL
damask; sure. it’s been out 4 days and there is very little supply. time-gating ONLY dramatically affects prices in the short term.
but look at elonian leather, which is also in high demand for leatherworker. even deldrimor (for armorsmith). logs don’t make my point as clearly.
elonian leather square costs 1g36s60c to make and will sell on the TP for 1g36s60c. after tax, that’s a whopping -21s36c profit (yes; you lose 21s by selling it)
deldrimor steel ingot costs 3g56s50c to make and will sell for 4g58s30c for 33s5c profit. at least it’s above zero.
point being that the ascended materials that were already out are already equalized even though they are time-gated. that negates any time-gating: if you want ascended medium armor, it is literally cheaper to buy all the ascended material than to make it yourself. If it weren’t time-gated, it wouldn’t get too cheap because people would know how it much it costs to make and not make it if they couldn’t make a profit selling it.
making time-gated stuff TPable negates any time-gating effect in the long run. in the short run, all it will do is prevent everyone and their grandmother from having the ascended armor they can afford for a short length of time.
same problem as tequatl update. requires too many people and only gives as much loot as everything else that requires the same individual effort. Not enough people think it can be done, so they don’t go looking to do it, so they are never coordinated enough to do it.
some guilds defy this, but it requires a lot of work on their part – more than it should.
they really need to add things like this to the lfg tool
90% of the time an airhead in the group insists on stacking behind a rock, we wipe. when we return to the scene, I usually just run in and kill half of the enemies before the rest of the team even gets there. to be stationary is to be a sitting duck. stacking only excels when you have more than 5 players or lots of aoe stuns/evades
guys, you only get ectos from rares that are level 68 and higher; stop salvaging AC rare armor and expecting ectos.
if you need the mats, open the bags.
if you are just going to sell what the bags give you anyways, sell the bags.
20s/day is not a profit.
ascended materials shouldn’t even be tradable. either that, or make all parts of it tradable.
I have had crashing problems before…
For starters, I have a pretty decent computer. on max settings I only go below 30 fps in huge wvw battles. I turn the settles to about medium so it stays above 30 fps always. normally runs 45-60.
Around june, a patch came out that made me crash in anything approaching a large battle. I reduced the graphics settings and that cured it.
a couple months ago, I had this same crashing bug (couldn’t even take 2 steps). I reduced the graphics to low low and that fixed it.
After a couple weeks I got annoyed at the blur so I reinstalled the game and was able to set it to medium and get 45-60 fps again.
then last night it started the crashing thing again. I don’t want to use settings that make me feel like I need inch-thick glasses.
I wish there was some sort of crash report that would tell me what caused it to crash so I could pew pew it.
I’m having crashing problems with GW2. Every time it seems to be a different error, and it always happens within 20 seconds of walking around LA (doesn’t happen if I stand still). I have tried everything I know of:
repair permissions
repair the client
reset NVRAM
run techtool pro (repair file structures, memory test, etc)
trash application support file
trash Guild Wars 2 application and re-download
trash Guild Wars 2 application and every GW2 support files (listed below) and re-download
Still can’t play. I’m thinking I missed a file that is corrupted or something and isn’t getting replaced when it’s re-downloaded. These are the files I trashed:
/Applications/Guild Wars 2
/Users/Mystic/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2
/Users/Mystic/Library/Caches/com.transgaming.guildwars2
/Users/Mystic/Library/Preferences/com.transgaming.guildwars2.plist
am I missing any? or does GW2 rely on something not downloaded?
If no answer, my next step may be to re-install Mac OS.
interesting thing that happened: com.transgaming.guildwars2.plist wouldn’t delete because it was open. but it wasn’t on activity manager. I did make sure these programs were closed, however:
wineserver
CVMCompiler
cookied
Guild Wars 2
restarting the computer with com.transgaming.guildwars2.plist in the trash allowed me to delete it.
