I wonder if the pants and shirts were removed from the store and turned into tonics because they otherwise would give people the option to get rid of trench coats and skirts.
They say it’s because of clipping, but nearly all of the armour in the game clips, so why would these town clothes need to be removed when the rest of the armour stays?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
Hello.
I was just wondering if the town clothes we start off with will count as a “suit”.
Also, since switching to these “suits” is free of charges, does that mean we can also switch back without charges?
For example: I wear a set, lets say cultural tier 3, and I switch to my pirate costume. Will I then be able to switch back to my cultural tier 3 without it costing any charges?
I’m sorry if this has already been answered.

Have you ever heard about that Norn thief?
…
Wait… someone is stealing Norn?
This comment made me laugh way more than it should have.
I got this great picture of a bunch of skritt smuggling Norn away in big sacks.

Being able to freely switch between my Witch’s Outfit, Wintersday and Pirate costume at any time…. sweet!
Now I just wonder if the riding pants and the shirts were removed because people otherwise could get rid of trench coats and skirts.
And I can finally wear my Gandalf hat!

For those of you who have played Wildstar, could you please answer the following questions:
1. What is the PvP like, compared to GWII? Is everyone on the same level with the same gear and skills, and can I level up in it?
2. How does the combat feel, compared to GWII? Is it dynamic, fast-phased and varied?
3. What is the transmutation and dye system like, compared to GWII?
4. What are the quests and dynamic events like, compared to GWII?
5. Can you play any way you want while being properly rewarded, like in GWII?
By that I mean quests, events, PvP, exploration etc.
6. Is there a holy trinity, or is it free of roles like in GWII?
I am very interested in Wildstar but I haven’t been able to dig up much information about it. Guess I haven’t looked in the right places.

It never actually occured to me that there are no penguins in this game, but now that you point it out I cannot get over it.

This has been an issue since they made the Not So Secret jumping puzzle.
Ever since that patch objects have not been rendered at the distance they did at launch.
I remember being able to see the Vigil Keep from half way across Gendarran Fields, but now you have to be really close.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
What do you mean with “maximum models”? Do you mean culling? Because if you turn that down you should experience a big increase in FPS, and then you could probably increase a few of the other graphic settings.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking your time.
There is no race in this game. Unless you need the best of the best right now, which means having to go through painful farming for weeks only to have a little better gear than what otherwise is easily obtained.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
1. May I ask for a screenshot of your graphic settings? I may be able to help you getting a better fps.
2. Absolutely not, you are not alone.
I alays do this in MMOs, and this game entices you to do so more than any other as far as I know.
My current main characters’ professions are: elementalist, thief, warrior, engineer(still an alt). I am waiting to see if a new playable race is added before making a ranger and a necromancer.
3. You can teleport to Heart of the Mists(PvP lobby) and try out any profession you want. Everyone has the same gear and skills in that part of the game, so you can easily find a profession which suits your playstyle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
I’d probably live in in Ascalon Settlement in Gendarran Fields.
But it’s a tough decision, cus I also really like Blazeridge Steppes, Iron Marches and Wayfarer Foothills.
Caledon Forest is really great as well, but it seems to be a bit too warm. I like to have a cold breeze, with the occasional warm sunlight.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
What I hope for:
1. Every profession can wear all armour types.
- Just think about the possibilites of skin customization if you could mix light, medium and heavy armour!
2. Being able to hide more armour.
-Finally being able to play a norn or a charr without chest armour, so we can see our fur and tattoos.
3. Being able to transmute town clothes to normal armour.

Im glad its finally over, I didn’t play it for the last 5 months.
I’d much rather have feature updates only. And real content.
Are you saying that what we have been experiencing isn’t “real content”?
If so, please describe what “real content” is.
I have been having a blast with the Living Story(not every single patch, but most. Plus the LS has been getting so much better since the Tower of Nightmares).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
While not my favourite patch, this definitely is one of the best ones I have experienced.
The story is fantastic. The new music is incredible. The way they’ve set up season 2 is really good as well, in my opinion.
For the first time in forever I’m actually invested in the story, and by the looks of it, it will only get better.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
I think they did it because they want to tell it during the next season.
Mordremoth will probably tell us how he possessed her mind, causing her to do all of these things in order to break loose from her.
Also, it was the right thing to do in my opinion. Before this people didn’t care about her, they just wanted her to die. Now people want to know her story and why she did it.

Hello.
I just wanted to make this thread in case any of you have been wanting to use a Makeover Kit on your charr, because one of the new male faces is completely broken.
Personally I really like the face, I’ve had it since December and will probably keep it for a bit, but for those of you who can’t stand clipping, do not pick this face.

I’d say that GWII has the best graphics in terms of quality.
But personally I prefer Wildstar’s graphics. I love high resolution cartoonish graphics. Always been a fan of crisp, vibrant colours.

They are not bringing it yet.
They are giving people a chance for the rewards that were available in that zone, as well as other rewards that were available during previous Living Story patches, such as the molten jetpack, skypirate monocle, gas mask etc.
I think it’s for the hologram fight in the Breachmaker.

We’ll go into more detail soon, just to re-iterate so it’s clear:
“The next round of major features will be bundled together into a large “feature only” release that will come after the first season of the Living World 2014 has finished.”
A feature release is not an expansion, it’s a release focused on game features. Examples of game features we’ve done in the past would be: guild missions, account achievement system, spectator mode, new pvp maps, daily world boss chests, removing culling and giving visibility options, the WvW WxP system, etc.
I’ve got to say this is a bit disheartening.
By the sounds of it, this is just a traditional patch. There are new games releasing, what’s to stop us from leaving this game?
Isn’t it about time for you to start announcing those “big projcets” you guys have in the background?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
All finishers take the same amount of time to cast. But due to lag or specific animations it can appear as if other people can instantly stomp someone.
For example if you stealth and then stomp someone, then the animation will first start when you get out of stealth.
The player will be dead, but they will have seen it as if you first casted the stomp when you got out of stealth.
And no, the search feature is completely broken.

Well, they killed Raisin Face from outside the LA bank, so why not Taimi?
That said, they won’t do that for a long time. Just like Braham, Kasmeer and the other ones, Taimi has a unique model.
They wouldn’t spend much time making such a character if they were going to kill it off quickly.

Not sure, but it may work.

1. The speed at which Anet delivers new armor skins is already at a snail’s pace, adding a whole new character model they have to fit around would make that even worse.
What are you talking about? They put new armours out every 3 months or so.

OK, thanks. We are in the same server, so that’s not the problem. But I’ll try the ‘join in <name of map>’ thing and see what happens.
I’m rather glad about not being able to boost. In WoW I saw people get low level characters to 90 in a twinkling by boosting and it always seemed unfair to me when others were slogging along, doing it solo.
Just one other thing – is the ‘life story’ the same for two characters of the same race and profession? Or do your decisions when creating a character (wish you’d joined the circus, counterattack with ferocity, etc) make for a different life story?
Thanks again.
There are currently two types of ‘stories’ in the game:
1. Personal Story.
2. Living Story.
The Personal Story is what you start when you create a character. The choices you make (joining the circus, never knew your true parents, never recovered your sister’s body) are all about the Personal Story.
The Living Story is Guild Wars 2’s method of delivering new content.
In other MMOs, such as WoW, you would get a big patch every 5-6 months, but in this game we get a small bit of content every 2 weeks instead.

They have not taken anything away from you. What they have done is telling you that the resources you have gathered are outdated, and that you now have the ability to use it on things that are worth way more than previously.
Yeah…guys. Gold/silver/copper is outdated now. We decided to use platinum now. So yeah. Buy as many salvage kits as possible before its to late!
Sounds legit. They should make it with every possible item in game. Then farmers would be so happy to have new items to farm. This game is about grind. Right?
Don’t twist what I said.
The old glory system was absolutely terrible. It was built entirely on RNG crafting with no feeling of progress.
People have been farming glory for over a year because they were hoping it would be worth something some day.
That time has been here for four months now.Perhaps you aren’t satisfied with these changes, but as of right now glory is more useful than ever. If that is a problem to you, then I don’t think you were interested in seeing that part of the game improve anyway, and just want to complain.
So remind me please. What can i buy with my 400 glory boosters again? I seem to be unable to find a merchant selling something valuable for em. Ah yes. There is no such merchant. So how did they become more valuable to me?
They became more valuable the moment they gave better rewards.
It is a shame if you have not been able to use those boosters, though.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about it until ArenaNet creates a system that will punish people for doing this.
And that system will be extremely difficult to create.
The best thing you can do, as extreme as this sounds, is to take a screenshot of your party every time you join a dungeon. That way you can report them for harrasment if this happens.
If you want to avoid this, you should join a guild.
People in pugs are always a bunch of skritt. They only want shinies.

I will not comment on fractals or legendaries, but when for the PvP part:
They are not taking anything away from you. They are updating a system they aren’t satisfied with.
Glory has NOTHING to do with PvP, it is merely a currency. You don’t gain anything by having more glory.
Just like you don’t gain anything in PvE by looting more gold.
Since December 2013 you have had the opportunity to use your glory on things that you couldn’t do before. You can:
1. Level up.
2. Buy almost any kind of gear without having to be a specific rank – without RNG crafting.
3. Buy any kind of bag without having to be a specific rank.
4. Buy custom arena kits.
They have not taken anything away from you. What they have done is telling you that the resources you have gathered are outdated, and that you now have the ability to use it on things that are worth way more than previously.
In essence they have made glory way more useful, but put a timer on it.

Perhaps you aren’t playing on the same server.
And to your second question:
In this game you are scaled down to the zone you are in. If you are a level 80 and you go to a level 5 zone, then you will be scaled down to level 5. This way you can always play with your friends no matter what level they are.
So yes, you can help him catch up.
But you can’t boost a low level character.

I never felt the need to grind in WoW. I’m pretty casual these days so I just do lfr and get geared up in a month or two. And I like raids. What does a few hours a week in gw2 get me in terms of gear?
It takes me a week to get a set of pvp gear, and since PvE gear is scaled down and doesn’t have any pvp stats there is no need for PvE BiS. Here you need to grind out ascended (legendary soon!) or else you’re at a disadvantage in WvW. Nothing is scaled down.
Just because you didn’t feel the need to grind doesn’t mean it wasn’t nessecary to grind.
In WoW you could take a break for a year and by the time you came back you would be behind everyone else by 2-3 tiers of gear.
Here it is 1 tier with not much of a stat increase.
Also, in WoW PvE gear is better than PvP gear(haven’t played since 2012 so it may have changed by now).
Here everyone has the same gear in PvP. Unless you are talking about WvW, which is concidered PvE.

It has to do with botting? lol… Wow has alot more auctions a day probably than this game and they dont have the trading limit. Regardless it wouldn’t even stop bots? It just means bots will change the times at which they sell items(I.e. 10 items a minute). It will just slow them down a little.
WoW also allows botting.
You may not believe this, but it is nearly impossible to get banned in that game. As long as you pay your subscription you can do whatever you want.

So long as Anet/NCSoft sell character slots, we won’t see a race change or class change item.
I think more people would use a race change kit on a character they have spent hundreds/thousands of hours on, rather than making a completely new one and start all over.

There were quite a few selling points for me:
1) -German language client.
Playing World of Warcraft helped me learn English, and as I had already started learning German by the time I found out about this game, I was extremely thrilled that I would be able to have that experience again(learning a new language by playing a game I like).
2) -PvP.
Everyone being the same in PvP, and being able to level up by doing PvP/WvW was incredible. Finally I would be able to do what I like, and be properly rewarded for it.
3) – Asura and charr.
I will not lie, had it not been for these two races I would probably not have started playing. I need races that aren’t humanoid. In fact it was a trailer featuring an asura warrior that initially caught my attention.
Norn, sylvari and human are all the same. Except that one is tall with big muscles, and the other one is green with flowers coming out of its butt.
4) -Dying.
After seeing the dye system in GWII I won’t even think about an MMO if it doesn’t have such a system. The customization is unbeliveable, you can have over 15 people standing in the exact same armour, but with different dyes you can make them look so different.
5) -Character creation.
When I first saw the character creation in this game I was absolutely sold. Charr have the best customization, and I couldn’t believe the way you could change your characters. You can essentially have 3 charr, all with the same body, face and hair, but due to the customization you can make them look completely different. I have never seen anyone that looked exactly like me, and that amazes me.
6) -Dynamic events.
This simply blew my mind. No more having to talk to an npc and see him say that the centaurs over on that hill have been attacking them for days.
Instead I get to experience them attack, i get to fight them off, and if I fail then they will take over the town!
Just thinking about the moment I first saw that part of the trailer gives me chills. The excitement I felt cannot be described.
7) – The personal story.
Going through the personal story for the very first time was without doubt one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had in a game. Korukhan, Demmi, Tybalt, Reeva, Rytlok, Ballista, the skritt whose name I can’t spell, and everyone else – man there were a lot of great characters.
I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it here.
