I really don’t understand people who call achievements grindy.
They are pointles and only serve the purpose of you feeling more rewarded for completing the content.
What you say? I can bash 150 pinatas and get some wings? Well, I don’t have to since it’s only a skin, but I like the wings therefore I am forced to do it.
I just watch the living stories pass by and if there is a reward I like I’ll do the achievements, otherwise I don’t care one bit.
Achievement points don’t make your x any bigger.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
I feel exactly the same.
Waypoints simply take away so much of the “world” feeling.
One of my fondest memories from vanilla_WoW_ is making a night elf, then traveling from teldrassil to auberdine, then across half of Kalimdor, taking a boat from menetil harbour to Wetlands, running through that zone then through to get to Loch Modan, then getting to Dun Morogh and finally discovering Ironforge.
When I think about what my experience would be like if there were no waypoints or asura gates I get really sad, cus they make the world pointless.
Cus I will never have the experience of traveling from Plains of Ashford to The Grove, which would be an incredible journey.
And don’t give me the “then don’t use waypoints” speech, cus it’s like mounts. You put yourself at a disadvantage by not using them.
Note: I am not saying waypoints or asura gates should be removed, nor am I saying that anyone should play the game like I do.
I am just saying that they take away from my personal experience.

Most problems would be solved if they removed armour restrictions.
Light armour = hoods, masks, dresses and jackets.
Medium armour = hats, bandit cloth masks, trench coats and pants.
Heavy armour = helms, breastplates, skirts and a few pants.
If everyone could wear everything then there wouldn’t be such a big need for new armour, cus there would be a ton of costumization available.
And even just allowing us to hide our chest armour and boots would give us much more costumization.

A few months ago…
I had made an alt, and as always I started off by exploring the cities.
Then by the time I was exploring Lion’s Arch my guild started forming groups to do some guild missions, and they only needed a few more people.
I didn’t want to so I set myself as offline and continued exploring.
Then I got to the tavern on the giant bridge above the mystic toilet.
It was night time ingame and I looked around in the tavern, the atmosphere was beautiful.
So I walked over to a place in the tavern where you can look out over the city, and I just stood there and looked down at all the people running around.
Then I accidentally pressed ‘w’, fell down and landed on top of my guild master.
Many tears were shed that night.

First image:
Race: Charr.
Sex: Male.
Profession: Elementalist.
Armour: Light – gloves – Student.
Issue: The inside of the fingertips lose their texture.
Plus I am 100% sure that you can actually fix the clipping issue with the tail in the Student pants, as it’s a very small skirt and should be adjustable to the tail.
Second image:
Race: Charr.
Sex: Male.
Profession: Engineer.
Armour: Medium – chest- Kodan.
Issue: When you wear the Kodan medium chest armour as a charr your hands are misplaced and are moved away from your arms.

Elementalist: A trait that allows me to transform into an elemental of the attunement I am in(just visually, no change in skills or anything).
Ranger: Being able to change the skill of my pets so I can pick whatever pet I want to and still have the skill I want.
Thief: Removing Black Powder and replacing it with a knockback.

The most unused potential in the gem store is the town clothes.
Why can’t we use them for our normal gear?
I’d buy the silly shirts and shorts to not have to wear a trench coat or a mini skirt.
Plus, killing a dragon wearing a top hat simply shows that you have class.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
1. Armour design – please remove armour restrictions. Let everyone wear light, medium and heavy armour – it would allow so much more costumization.
2. Living story – Are you actually able to produce the same content as expansions such as new races?
3. sPvP – why do you refuse to add more modes?

Ascended gear, skins, minis and fluff stuff are for people who want that extra goal. They are not required.
I take issue with this statement…not at you so pls don’t take this the wrong way….but I have seen this argument always thrown out there when its about this topic.
That is because all those that you have mentioned are something essential to an mmo. So in actuality, they are required. Fluff has been part of mmo culture since probably its inception.
Its akin to saying you do not need air conditioning and a radio in your car.
I fully agree, but unfortunately it’s true.
Fluff items are much more essential to my enjoyment of the game than gear, but they are not required for me to play the game.
It’s kind of sad.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
The way I understand it is that there is no nessecary grind.
You can get to max level and get full excotic gear by playing the way you want, without having to grind.
Ascended gear, skins, minis and fluff stuff are for people who want that extra goal. They are not required.
I am against the RNG stuff in the gem store, it’s disgusting.
But there is nothing to do about it, cus if people are willing to buy it – without anyone being able to claim it is pay-to-win – then they most likely won’t stop selling them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
There is no “endgame” in GWII, cus it’s not about “endgame” here.
Guild Wars 2 is about the whole experience. There is hardly anything you can do at max level that you couldn’t do at level 2.
This game is about having fun and playing with your friends, not being forced to x in order to be up to date.
You have to set your own goal, it will not be set for you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
1. A race change kit.
2. Having armour restrictions removed – let everyone wear light, medium and heavy armour.
3. The “Equipment Manager” from WoW.
4. More sPvP modes – capture the flag, death match etc.
5. Being able to use all tonics in combat, let me fight as an ooze if I want to, I don’t care if there is only 1 attack animation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
There are a ton of places in this game that would be great places to roleplay, or simply just hang out, but they are either instanced, locked off or are only open for short periods of time depending on events.
It’s really sad.
If you’ve been near the beach area in Lion’s Arch you’ve probably seen that big house near the pirate statue. That house is actually full of details, multiple floors and would make a great place to roleplay, yet sadly you can only enter it during a single personal story mission with the Priory.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
You call the living story and SAB garbage, I call legendaries garbage.
I’d rather have content to play than grindy skins to pursue.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
Nope, I have no interest in being in a guild.
When I am in a guild, even just a social one, I feel obligated to do whatever the guild wants, and I hate that. I feel as if I can’t say:“Not right now, I don’t have the time” or “I don’t want to right now”.
But pretty much every day I have people whisper me and ask why I’m not in a guild. I then proceed to tell them why and then we argue for about 5-10 minutes about whether or not I would enjoy the game more if I was in a guild, lol.
Beside that, I would not be able to provide anything to the guild.
I will not set aside time from my daily activities in real life to play. I log on when I feel like it and do whatever I feel like doing.
I go to bed early and will not stay up for guild activities.

I care a lot about the personal story.
But with the Orders I only care about the Order of Whispers and the Priory. The Vigil sounded good but it greatly dissapointed me. Or at least the mentor did, I can’t remember his name. Forgal perhaps?
But I want a race change kit. If I have to reset my story, or whatever, I will do it.
Just think about this, if they make a new race, how many people will actually play it?
How many people will want to level up a new character and deck it out just to play a new race?
How many people, with all professions at max level, will want to level up a new character rather than paying for a race change kit to change a few of the characters he/she already has spent a ton of time on?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
The amount of people who are against this is disgusting.
You’re telling me you do not ever want to see
- A new region.
- New races.
- New classes.
- New set of dungeons all at once.
- New huge storyline.
- Huge drop of new cosmetic gear. You don’t want any of that? You’d really rather have this drip-fed nonsense that barely feels like content at all? You’d rather spend money on the gem store than have in-game attainable cosmetic items? You’d rather have un-fufilling, rushed, every-two-weeks kinda-updates rather than a well-polished expansion with tons and tons of new content to complete?
If that’s truly what this playerbase wants, then it makes me sick. I can’t believe we live in a day and age where people would rather have re-hashed mini-updates and gem store purchases than lay down 60 dollars for a proper paid expansion in all its glory.
Expansions were one of the ONLY good things about MMOs of the past and the fact that ANet and apparently the GW2 fanbase don’t want that is astounding, worrying, and wrong in every way.
1. Except for the huge drop of cosmetic gear ArenaNet has said that all of those things can come through the living story.
2. Perhaps you don’t like the living story, but I love it. To me it is a massive amount of content and I, as well as a lot of other people, am overwhelmed by the amount, and quality, of content they produce so fast.
3. Why do you have so much against the gem store? There is pretty much only cosmetic items in there, except for boosts and more space, either for character slots, bank or bags.

Within a few months people will have determined the best builds and professions and then it will be put on a website. And once that website goes live it will become common knowledge.
And once it is common knowledge that x profession isn’t up to par with the others it is bye bye to invites of any activity that requires a certain amount of damage.

“1. Anet has enough money from RNG box sales to feed the world 90 times.”
WROOOOONNNGGGG
As has been shown ANET does not get money from the Gemstore directly. Money goes to NCsoft and they then get a % or whatever. Money goes to NCsoft and THEY decide howmuch ANET gets. Money earned by GW2 will also be put into other games NCsoft develops and vice versa.
Just because they make money with the gemstore it does not mean it all goes directly to them, let’s get that clear.
Now. Proceed with the flaming!
Recognize a hyperbole when you see it. Even so, Anet should be able to come up with better content with the money they’re given. As it stands, the content they come up with now is complete and utter garbage that I would not wipe my butt with.
Uhm… does that mean if you liked the content you actually would wipe your butt with it?
I don’t mean to judge, but this really isn’t the place to talk about what you like to shove up yourself.

But only if the map is huge, like the lake in Frostgorge Sound, otherwise it will be too claustrophobic.

Best:
1. Halloween.
2. Wintersday.
3. Super Adventure Box.
4. Secret of Southsun(or whatever it was called back when they added the legendary karka queen earlier this year).
5. Bazaar of the Four Winds.
6. Queen’s Jubilee.
7. Clockwork Chaos.
8. Skyhammer. Amazing visuals, a giant cannon that can two-shot people and I can fear/knock off people from the platforms.
Ohh the memories of stealing fear from necromancers and make them jump to their death from the cannon… best map since Battle of Kyhlo.
9. Being able to hide gloves – now let us do the same with chest armour and shoes.
Worst:
1. Dragonbash.
2. When they removed the giant lake in wvw borderlands.

I enjoy visual costumization.
Being able to quickly swap armour sets, using items to transform myself into other creatures – preferably while in combat, collecting skins, collecting items that give you special effects.
In PvP I like it when I can see how many players you have killed. I have hundreds of screenshots from WoW where I was the top killer at the end of battlegrounds.
Also things I can spawn in the world. Mounts, pets, flags, campfires, finishers, whatever.
That is my kind of carrot.
I remember in WoW my bags, my entire bank and about half of my void storage were full of items like these.
Sadly I don’t have a picture of all the items I had collected before I quit when GWII was released, but here is a picture of I took in 2011.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
GWII is a game that definitely WILL spoil you.
But you probably won’t realize it until you play another MMO and remember all the quality of life features that you have gotten used to in GWII.
Beside that, forums like these are mostly visited by whiners. No matter what ArenaNet does they will find something to whine about.
Just to give you an example:
ArenaNet:“We are adding a LFG tool to the game”.
Forum users:“Finally, only had to wait a whole year”.
Forum users:“The world bosses are too easy and boring”.
ArenaNet:“We are revamping the world bosses so there will have to be a lot of coordination”.
Forum users:“This sucks, give me my free loot back”.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
That would be the Mask of Bubble Gum.
You obtain it by completing the quaggan event chain where you have to cook food for all the races tyria.
The event ends in Harathi Hinterlands where the quaggan known as Poogaluu realizes that there wasn’t supposed to be cinnamon in the rolls she made for the skritt.
Due to shame and embarrasment, she blows a giant bubble that explodes and chokes her. You peel off the gum and wear it in honour of her name.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
I’ll add a few more.
1. Being able to quickly switch full armour sets, like the Equipment Manager in WoW.
2. A complete overhaul of the transmutation system. If I have full set of gear for stats but multiple skins that I want to use, then I should be able to swap between those sets without having to destroy my stat gear.
This probably won’t happen as ArenaNet profits from selling the transmutation crystals.
3. More modes for sPvP.
4. Bringing all skins from PvE to PvP and vice versa. Why can’t I get cultural armour in PvP? Or the Masquerade armour in PvE?
5. Making all skins currently in the game available to players. By this I mean that a ton of npcs wear armour sets that players don’t have a way to obtain.
I see a lot of charr npcs wearing clothes specificially made for charr, and a lot of those sets are not available to players.
6. Allowing us to transmute town clothes with normal armour.
ArenaNet would actually profit from this as a lot of players would concider buying the silly clothes they put in the store.
Especially the pants, shorts and shirts currently in the shop, as we could get rid of trench coats and skirts.
7. Being able to hide more pieces of armour. If the endgame is based on cosmetics, then why can’t I costumize my character in such a basic way?
Just imagine a huge norn warrior with tattoos and a mighty beard, charging towards you, only wearing pants shoes.
8. Getting rid of armour type restrictions. Just imagine the armour sets you could make if we weren’t restricted to one armour type.
This would also give ArenaNet more freedom with the armour, as they wouldn’t have to say:“Alright, this is a light armour set so it has to be some sort of dress”.

I’m very certain that the restrictions to the ascended gear is to “force” people to do things ingame that have dropped in popularity.
I’ve heard that temples in Orr aren’t done as frequently anymore, and a lot of players complain about not having too many people out in the open world(though I always see a lot of players no matter where I go), so it would make sense if they made it this way to ensure that everyone who wants this gear will participate in these activities.

They are moving away from everything being temporary and making it more of a 50/50 with the first patch of the month being permanent and the second patch being temporary.
At least that is how I’ve come to understand it.

I love the idea of a skin locker with infinite skins once you unlock them, but I think there should be seperate ones for PvE and PvE.
I would probabloy try to collect most armour sets if we got this.
In fact I would concider buying a skin from the gem store if we could withdraw as many as we want. Unless we get the ability to withdraw as many sets as we want, like we can with the achievement skins, I will never buy a skin from the gem store. Except a set of town clothing for each of my main characters.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
4. How will they release them? I definitely wouldn’t mind having to pay to to unlock them, but I am sure most people would get upset if they had to pay for them.
4. Living story, have players go to the Dominion which then sets them up to be a playable race since you now have access to their home city and it becomes clear they have some part to play in the world. Given their solitary nature prehaps they come under attack from one of the major factions, begin to struggle and request the aid of other races/factions thus granting them entry to their homeland in order to help them. In return for helping them they agree to have a greater pressence in the fight aginste Zhaitan which then gives the Tengu a reason to be part of the story and makes sense then to have Tengu playable characters.
Again, you have no idea how much work goes into creating these things. It’s not that they can’t figure out how to write them into the story. I’m sure they already have plenty of ideas. It’s that they have to write them, script the dozens of personal story missions, make new character models for new missions, hire new voice actors to voice all these new characters, record them, do new motion capture for all the cut scenes. Not to mention all the new work for programmers to do to piece it all together. All of that and more I didn’t even go into costs lots of money. He is concerned about how it would be released cause he doesn’t wanna buy an expansion because he doesn’t wanna spend the money. Sure, they could release it as a free patch like living story has been, but that would mean the money they spent to develop it is a sunk cost that they can only hope to recoup via gem purchases; they would just have to hope that this new content inspires more people to spend real money to buy gems. But if they don’t wanna take that risk, then about the only option is to release a paid expansion, which he doesn’t want.
That’s not what I said.
I said that I would not mind having to pay for the new races, as they are content you would typically only find in expansions.
My concern was how the majority of people would react if they had to pay for a new race, without buying an expansion.
With the amount of work, time and resources they would have to spend in order to make a new race I only find it reasonable for them to make us have to buy them, but I have a feeling that most people wouldn’t like that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
The list of things I have liked is too long for me to bother writing, so I’ll just make a list of things that I havn’t liked:
1. Ignoring sPvP.
Yes I like the new maps, in fact Skyhammer is my favourite map next to Battle of Kyhlo, but I want new modes, achievements, titles, finishers etc. Just something to show off.
And the amount of skins not available in sPvP is ridicolous.
2. Only making 6 new armor sets, and then putting them in the gem store.
3. Gambling weapon skins.
That’s about all of the things I haven’t liked.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
I very much doubt we will see new playable races anytime soon.
There are a few things that I don’t see ArenaNet spending the time and resources doing:
1. Personal story – the amounr of voice acting, cutscenes and missions is a huge amount of effort.
2. Armour – they don’t want to spend the time and resources to make armour sets that are specifically made for one race, and with a new race they would have to make 9 new cultural armour sets, and also a 3 new tiers of all weapon types.
3. The amount of animations they would have to make is ridicolous. I know that the animators and art designers always go all out, but to me this seems like they wouldn’t do this without an expansion.
4. How will they release them? I definitely wouldn’t mind having to pay to to unlock them, but I am sure most people would get upset if they had to pay for them.

10. Hope Falls.
The sad thing is that some of the most beautiful soundtracks in the game aren’t on the OST.
