The p1 trash runs are exceptionally punishing to a new player, the second one being especially tough. P4 is just long and has dumb boss fights.
People are finally starting to adjust their prices for the suddenly rare currency Karma. Previously, a Gift of Mastery was worth like 100g since it was just karma (everyone effectively had an infinite amount) and Badges (which they dumped tons of onto everybody) and world completion. Suddenly Karma went from being nearly infinitely available to especially rare and a Gift of Mastery is valued at 400-500g now, if not more. Prices are still adjusting to the increased time investment needed per legendary.
115g sounds fair for an armor set that is roughly equivilant in “prestige” (cant wait for the snarky ‘there is nothing prestigious about either’ comments) to cultural t3. Sounds like a perfectly functioning market to me.
What’s funny is…
1. We have a bunch of “what if we had to kill all the mobs / we should be forced to kill all the mobs” threads.
2. We have a bunch of threads complaining about how excruciating the Dredge fractal is.
None of the people who are responsible for #1 understand that the consequence is #2.

Weakness is better in high level fractals than anywhere else. That would be the one place where I WOULD use a necro to spam Weakness.
You also must have a twilight. Sunrise is an instant kick.
If a precursor doesnt drop for you within the first three guild runs you get kicked for having bad RNG.

I am still confused at your response to me though. Where did Anicetus say that he was specifically talking Dungeon groups?
When he mentioned his assumed buffs, the implication was that he was referring to a dungeon team. In any other context the list of buffs he listed don’t make sense to assume. I understand he never explicitly stated it, but in general when we theorycraft we do it under the assumption of dungeon conditions because its the only pve area where this level of refinement makes a difference. If we are talking open world or solo dungeons that would be explicitly stated.
Otherwise, we take Fury, Might, Vuln, and Warrior banners for granted in our dps calculations.

The defense provided by the reflects is what is important, not the damage (except vs Lupicus). So 20 points of traits simply to get a 4 second curtain reflect is not worth it, to me.
Sure, if you are the only source of projectile defense in a dungeon AND it is a projectile heavy dungeon (CM or Arah) then I could see splurging an extra 10 points for Wardens Feedback. But for any other dungeon or a team with any additional projectile defense it’s just throwing away dps.
I will probably run 10/30/0/10/20 after the patch. Get the key traits and still have glamor cooldown reduction from 10 in inspiration.
Not having 30 points in Dueling is a pretty big problem for quite a few places.
Honestly those 20 points in valor are probably ahead in pure dps by a few percent, but they’re totally selfish.
0.1% more dps than putting those into virtues, assuming 4 boons. Swiftness, might, fury and vigor are permanent, regeneration and retaliation usually have high uptime and protection/stability come in ocassional. 10/30/5/0/25 is probably the highest dps you can get, if chosing 5 in honor, any point in valor is just wasted. And however, assuming 5 boons 10/25/0/10/25 is already more dps than 10/30/30/0/0.
I run a boon/virtues oriented build and no boons are on permanently. 10/30/30/0/0 is a more reliable, consistent DPS build than 10/25/0/10/25, which depends on having boons up ALL the time, which means you’d need boon duration runes, which means taking away from potential DPS oriented runes/orb, not to mention the stat loss from the traits. The only time this isn’t the case is if you’re running with a zerg, but then 10/30/30/0/0 would come out on top because you’d have better survivability.
Anicetus runs pve dungeons in organized groups. When he indicates a buff is “permanent” they are, in the context of a typical dungeon group. Your response is baffling because…
1. You mention zerging which makes me think you’re talking about WvW or open world pve. Neither of those things are inside the scope of this discussion.
2. You are definitely not talking about organized dungeon teams where certain buffs (Might, fury, banners) are a given.
3. Not having 10 points in Virtues shows you have no idea what the point of bringing a Guardian in an organized pve group is. In fact any Guardian build that doesn’t bring 10 points in Virtues is automatically suboptimal without any other consideration necessary.
Responses of yours I anticipate:
“I’m just talking about max dps, not trying to integrate support.”
Let’s talk about our favorite color of unicorn or something else that isn’t relevant to reality.
“There are a lot of Dungeons where you don’t need reflect uptime so Master of Consecrations isn’t needed”

I don’t care. I’m talking about the offensive approach that many ‘correct way play’ people tend to present their information with. A certain rigour and zest that usually end by insulting everyone, creating the toxicity. I’m not the only one that sees it, so it’s no figment of my imagination either. Here is the deal. Someone makes a ridiculous statement, and gets told (usually politely) that their position is incorrect and the mathematical and philosophical reasons are given. Usually, as Spoj said, those people say, “well I don’t care about math, my build is fine and you’re wrong.” Sorry, I won’t tolerate that. If someone makes an honest mistake that is perfectly fine. If someone is willfully ignorant, I will rub their face in it as hard as I can.

It’s OK to have a spirited conversation. The concept of a forum is an exchange of ideas, and I’m sorry to burst your bubble but not all ideas are equal. It is true – it is simply demand for gems vs demand for gold (aka supply of gold vs supply of gems,) which IS controlled by players…BUT Arena Net has control of the direction (new gem store items vs new in game items/reasons for the need for gold in game.)
No, it’s just demand for gems and demand for gold. Supply is irrelevant for a variety of factors.
And the two aren’t even necessarily linked. If they released an update that massively increased the amount of gems people wanted (like a 1000 gem item that would un-soul bind an soulbound item and allow it to be sold) while simultaneously introducing something that caused a massive increase in the demand for gold (like precursor crafting) you could have a situation where both indices moved in the same direction, as opposed to opposite each other as they would do if they were correlated.
HC has runs for many of these paths that they aren’t submitting. Shadeus, get on it!

If you feel compelled to do anything in a game like this, that’s your problem to be blunt. People have posted videos using the LFG tool showing that it is very easy to find a group for dungeons advertising “berserker gear not required” or something similar and the groups fill in seconds. There is literally no good excuse for feeling pressured to do something you dont want to do.
I’ll never understand topics like this. Don’t want to use berserker gear? Don’t. It’s your choice to play how you want.
Get kicked from an “experienced only speed run” group because you aren’t using berserkers? That’s cool too because it’s their choice to play how they want, too.
You’re free to play how you want, and organize whatever types of groups you want to organize. And others can do the same. you do not have to play together if your goals conflict.

The best way to do it is to have the dungeon team to play some sPvP. See what is the behavior of players when they react to stacking.
Funny you say this. I have been WvWing a lot lately to get the meta achievement done. There have been many occasions when me and my friends are being chased by a larger group, and we run around a corner and the “mobs” LOS to us and we obliterate them with AOE. You would think that real people with intelligence would be immune to stupid pve tactics, but they aren’t.
Full zerker scholar flame thrower does like 2k damage auto attacks and inflicts burning. Grenades does like 3k and does bleeding stacks, poison, and massive vuln stacks. Also has utility blind and chill.
Switching your characters is ruining this fellow’s immersion in the extremely well-written and deep Ascalonian Catacombs storyline. Have you no shame?
The fact that it has long unskippable cut scenes as well as annoying non-combat related puzzles means that they designed with the intention of nobody ever doing it a second time, except AP grinders.
Whoever designed this (probably the same person who designed the Atherblade Retreat, another total failure) should probably be put in charge of coming up new guild challenges and guild puzzles. But no more dungeons, thanks.
It’s not even acceptable in PVE, since if you dodge you destroy the chain and get your dps wrecked.
I know anet doesn’t balance around PVE, but assuming the same buffs for every profession Sword/* guardians were already outclassing warriors in DPS, and now they will be getting an addition 5% buff on Dec 10. It’s smewhat embarrassing to know that the only real value a warrior has anymore in pve is carrying around a banner.
When you run the dungeons and you play a tanky character, you can eat attacks. That means you are never forced to learn the boss animations and timings. On the other hand when you play a berserker build, you cannot eat boss attacks so you must learn the animations and timings in order to dodge.

Yep, practice makes perfect. Most bosses have weak auto attacks and heavy hitting slow wind up attacks. You just memorize the animations for the big shots and you’re 90% of the way there.
More bad threads from bad players with their bad feelings hurt badly.
How in the kitten do zerker warriors manage to stay ALIVE?! I mean, cripes. I’ve done dozens of dungeons (mostly as a bunker shout tank) and while I can appreciate that being a pure dps glass cannon has intricacies associated with it that I may need to learn through playing, I still don’t understand how most zerker warriors can live long enough to get through a boss fight without getting downed, much less make use of scholar runes or stacking sigil bonuses.

The point was to get a clean run on both play how you want build and a zerker meta build to compare times.
Honestly, that’s all it really comes down to. Time. Everything else is based on the player, not the build. I care much more about efficiency than about speed, which, despite what people seem to think, are actually two different things.
Which run was more efficient after you watched both?
For PVE play you don’t NEED anything unless you are engineering your team.
We are presupposing and engineered team because we are experienced players and organized groups are symptomatic of experienced players.

Don’t get mad; it was an honest question. I don’t think anyone argues that a full DPS party will have a fast run under perfect conditions and good RNG. Your guild’s videos prove that.
But your livestreams shows a very different story because you can’t edit out all the failed trash runs.
Is the goal “speed” records, or consistently successful dungeon runs? I think a lot of people would say the latter.
There is a difference between casual runs and speed run records. Speed run records take hours to accomplish and we demand perfection of ourselves. Our casual runs are obviously not intended to be speed run records, and shouldn’t be taken as if they were failed attempts at a record when they are just a casual dungeon run.
Our goal is both speed records AND consistent success. Our casual runs, even when someone kitten s and goes down, are faster AND cleaner than pugs. What you don’t seem to get is that we could play slow and defensively and use ranged strats and exploits to have “clean” runs where no one goes down. But that would still be slower and less efficient than a run where we go balls out and a person goes down. So yes, despite a run being “messy” here or there they are “consistently successful” in that they are easier and faster than the alternative.
Remember you can always supplement lower precision or power with food. I went 20/30/0/0/20 based on an duel axe/GS and rifle build. I get 3150 attack with 57% crit chance. Not adding in any other buff or bonus from traits. I agree that maxing your precision to reach 100% crit chance can be seen as a waste since it caps. Not everyone is playing full zerk. I went with PTV armor and used zerk jewels on it, so no runes. Then all the ascended items are either celestial or zerker. I may not be doing full zerk damage but its enough that others don’t notice or ask. As well my survivability allows me to be half asleep while playing since I can afford to miss a dodge here and there.
Attack. Attack is a meaningless term that does not actually have any direct correlation to dps.
For example, a build with 2k attack and a 95% chance to crit will out dps a 3k attack 4% chance to crit build.
All that matters is Power, Precision, Crit damage and base damage modifiers. Tell me those four things and you’ve told me something meaningful. Telling me about his “Attack” is like telling me how many apples he has.
LOL, my reference to Attack is in correlation with my Power. I have a lot of power and a fair amount of precision therefor high DPS. You obviously understand how I reached that number so stating the obvious with your comparison of crit and attack were not necessary. When I look at crit chance I look at attack much like when I look at power I then look at precision. So you can understand further, I put apples with apples and oranges with oranges. Trolling my post is no help to the OP.

To analyze someone’s dps and/or Effective Power you need: Power, Precision, Critical Damage, and Base Damage Modifiers. You’ll notice that I did not include “Attack” in that list, because it is not part of it.

Also as I said fractals footage was old. I just didn’t upload it until then. My staff crits are 1600ish. I’m actually standing in game with 10 people right now looking at it. They kinda saying wtf is wrong with you guys. Like I said keep going all you doing is making people seek me out.

I’m glad people are seeking you out, you deserve every dollar your machinima partnership will pay you. I do wonder, why do you builds come out with iterations in .5 increments? Are there 4 proto-build iterations that aren’t ready for public consumption? What if one of those proto-builds (2.7 for example) is perfect? Would you release it as 2.7, or just call it 3.0? These are the types of questions people care about.
Turmaine and Martha are now immune to kegs. This makes P2 too difficult to be worth it. Parties are simply quitting.
