The sugar isn’t really a big problem. Either that or I haven’t been getting hit with it..
You’d have to be right next to the door for that to happen. There’s even a text (Enter) that tells you that hitting F will make you go in. Unless it doesn’t come up when not using AoE loot on interact. This is silly.
Need a bit more info than this. I’m guessing this isn’t the Living Story instance where he first gets out, so he’s fought elsewhere.
So what if it was easy? If it’s fun to do, that’s all that matters to me. If it were too hard, we’d inevitably have half a dozen threads about that instead.
Anything at this point is better than Scarlet again.
I still don’t get why the concept art of him looks more like a werewolf/werecharr. His hair and face may be a little silly but his costume makes up for it.
And listening to them argue in the Labyrinth is a nice touch. I do hope we get the option to aid one in besting the other, but if not, that’s ok since it’s probably better to keep them both around to focus on each other, and not us.
Well, well. This is interesting. Makes me feel dumb for not noticing it. Kasmeer and Marjory taking a break from their secret dating to deal with the krait being up to something right under the nose of all this Halloween business. Hopefully that invasive weed isn’t playing a role in this too.
Neither were up at all when I looked. Another bug? Or did they just erase them both in this patch?
The new condition damage indicators look neat. I can’t really speak of all the balance stuff. I’m wasn’t here for the previous Mad King event, so I can’t compare it to this one.
Bloody Prince wanting to kill his dad might make for an interesting conflict. I’ll just have to wait and see though.
So…Scarlet did all the nonsensical stuff she did and went crazy because she was secretly attracted to Caithe but it wasn’t mutual? Eh?
I’m confused now.
I’ve seen it too. Tequatl had at least 2 different AoEs before his revamp. One of them being the poison one that hurt quite a bit. The other inflicted a long lasting weakness but otherwise did little damage. The poison one just didn’t get used as often as the weakness one.
Thank you for sharing your sad tale. Let this be a warning to others.
There are no benefits whatsoever to removing the ability to revive someone in combat. Stop trying to make things worse.
Nice title. I’ll refer to Tequatl like that from now on. And yes, the difficulty is a problem when much of the population has pretty much abandoned the boss and even the zone itself due to how it’s designed now.
its the new 3 hour long path that nobody is gonna do. Hurray!!
Which replaced a path that, while certainly a pain, was at least done every once in a while.
Well, that’s why I don’t buy them.
My very very least favorite is SE path two, mostly for the same reasons people are giving for hotw. The first room is just massive hp bags, with the added annoyance of them being dredge. The icing on the cake is after you clear the room of the millions of dredge, you have the joy of watching the npc walk all the way across the room to get a rock, and walk slowly back.
I don’t really like AC p3 tbf, but only because of the timed graveling event. That whole dungeon path is probably easier then CoF P1, but it takes 3 times as long because the essence collecting event is much longer than it should be.
It’s sad too because story wise, SE Path 2 is the best at the end, giving the feeling that the dredge you helped are starting to get over their xenophobia and trust you….and then they join with the Flame Legion at the behest of an annoying weed later. (Maybe…it’s not clear if it’s the same dredge. Sigh.)
And yes, the essence collection part of AC Path 3 goes on too long.
No.
But they are barely better than Jar-Jar Binks, in that they are sometimes useful.
Anything is more useful than that manure stain upon another franchise far far away.
Perfect fight? No such thing exists here.
Better idea: Never make a path like this again. And do not remove previous paths for no good reason.
Well, according to the wiki, all I missed was a little more dialogue, but nothing really important. We don’t learn anything new at all concerning any bigger plots at hand, and seeing as the Nightmare Court aren’t in this at all, I’m wondering why this had to be in Twilight Arbor and why the original forward/up path had to be blocked off for good in place of this garbage.
And from what I’ve read, it seems that most will just do this for the achievements and just not run it again. I still don’t get why they couldn’t have just added this as an extra path instead of removing the previous path (Arah has 4 paths, why can’t others?) The rewards are hardly worth it either.
Well, it is what it is. By this point, the next big thing, Bloody Madness, is coming. But after Tequatl and this, I can’t say I’m excited for any future Living Stories now, or any more dungeon revamps.
Okay, I’ll just waypoint back and..no..I have to run all the way there, since waypoints in this path are not unlocked for everyone when at least one of the group has passed them (like in every other dungeon path) but individually among the players.
And it gets better. The door apparently closes when the Veteran Twisted Nightmare is spawned (or after you enter) and doesn’t reopen, so I can’t get back in to kill it. Sorry Caithe, you’re on your own. Even after the final boss is dead, this path still finds ways to irritate me.
The “reward” being a knockback and a Veteran Twisted Nightmare. Close quarters area plus flamethrowers and focused projectiles equals a dead necromancer. (Sigh)
“Could she have learned about me from Faolain? Or maybe the Dream itself?”
Well, since Scarlet already said she knew something that Faolain didn’t, so this seems to imply that Scarlet found a way to look through the memories contained within the Dream itself (while apparently being able to hide her own, no less), something that only the Pale Tree was said to be capable of before. (told to us by Trehearne, no less)
Anyway, a “Box of Fun” and another hologram.
Time to get my necromancer to revive this thread, at least for a little longer.
Managed to find a party that was at the last boss and helped them beat that. The Lionguard decides to drop in and finally do something, and I go off with Caithe to Scarlet’s inner sanctum, hoping to get something worth finding out of this place.
I know certain people appear in your home instance depending on your story missions/choices, but I can’t recall ever meeting this guy before. It’s especially odd since he seems to be the norn representative for the the Order of Whispers (but I haven’t played the norn personal story) in the asuran personal instance.

Dredge fractal. Too long, too many infinite spawns, dredge boss’ mega attack too hard to see.
edit: And you can’t just choose not to do it like you can avoid certain dungeon paths.
Well, you can..it just means going back to the lab and beginning a new fractal chain…which is really annoying. I don’t get why they didn’t just let you choose the fractals you want to go to. Maybe make it random at first and then let you choose fractals that you’ve completed afterwards…meh.
I can’t find Cueyatl (“Help Cueyatl escape the krait”) at all. I’m not sure if it’s a bug, or if she’s just in a spot I’m not seeing. Any ideas?
Made a key earlier. Didn’t work.
That does make sense. Then again, it begs the question: why use a Packheart for this? Why not an armored transport, charr tank, or a helicopter? If fuel is an issue, just use dolyaks or marmoxes. At least they will fight back.
“But Nilkemia, that would make it too easy!! Events must have a chance to fai-(shot)”
No you won’t, cause I never play fractals.
Eh, Path 1 isn’t too bad. The only bad things I recall are that annoying ice circle hallway (even with Stability, you’ll still get knocked back by them…why..) and Ginva himself.
It might be just me, but Ginva’s normal swings seem to have a hitbox reaching all around him. Even when I try to attack from behind, I’ll still get hit if I’m anywhere nearby, meaning projectiles are pretty much the only good way to fight him at all.
It’s not hard, just longer than it needs to be.
Might be able to ask support about that. It’s a valid question, yet as of now seems to have no answer as to why. It’s not like S.A.B, where you could just make a new character and run it again (although, time gating there is inexcusable as well), making alts able to run the dungeons requires a great deal more effort and is probably done moreso because the player(s) actually wanted more characters rather than just extra tokens.
Only reason I can think of is that whoever came up with the idea was either being stupid or just trying to make it take longer to annoy people. As if the waypoint combat lock wasn’t a dumb enough idea.
Best to just stay out of PvP. It isn’t fun.
Worst dungeon (as a whole) in my opinion? Arah.
Maybe it’s because I barely ever run it, or because I rarely get an entire party who knows how to run it well. But the enemies feel overpowered or just annoying(why I prefer skipping whatever we can), the corrosive light part feels like a blatant time-waster, and no matter what, Lupicus is a pain. Ran that place enough for the one piece I wanted and never looked back.
Worst dungeon path(s) that I have ran in my opinion:
Sorrow’s Embrace Path 2: It’s…just sooo long. None of the bosses themselves are too bad (the final one was kind of annoying), the path just goes longer than what you get out of it.
Arah Path 4: Ugh. Anyone who’s run that one can probably think of half a dozen reasons why it sucks.
Honor of the Waves Path 2/3: The underwater isn’t bad. The enemies you fight while underwater are the pain. Doesn’t help that all the final bosses have a lot of HP.
Twilight Arbor Assault Path (a.k.a the new F/U): I think everything I could say has been said elsewhere.

In this thread, I noted how Gorr made a weapon to be effective against the Risen by negating the essence of Zhaitan’s tangible will/corruption inside them. This leads me to think that even with Zhaitan’s main body dead, his will and power live on through all those he’s corrupted.
Also, in regards to Zhaitan just falling into the abyss, I feel that they did this to not truly conclude things, to not actually show him dying in case they wanted to bring him back in the future, though it just comes off as odd, since I’d think the Pact would want to find the body to confirm the kill, since they know well enough to do that anyways.
Yeah, it’s a bit annoying how it is never indicated that your fear choice decides your next few missions after taking back Claw Island and starting the Pact.
Hmm…a vampiric necromancer, an engineer, maybe a ranger? Still, it just doesn’t seem that good compared to most of the other stat combos out there.
Ah, I miscounted. I forgot to include the Blood Fiend.
Blood Fiend + Shadow Fiend/Bone Fiend/Flesh Worm (2 of those 3) + 2 Bone Minions+ Flesh Golem=6 minions, 7 with a Jagged Horror out. There.
All the unnecessary time-gating. Also quite annoying how you have to craft exotics to reach 500 at all, then they make you require a little more of the same material (another orichalcum inscription) just for the ascended inscription.
With dragonite ore only coming from world bosses, which I hardly ever do unless I happen to be around, I never have enough of that, while the other two come from quite a bunch of places.
Meh…I’ve just decided to stop caring. I don’t have a problem with the Ascended tier itself, just how it was done.

Why is it that the packheart in Brisban Wildlands is perfectly capable of fighting back (and does an okay job besides hitting neutral targets and aggroing them), while the one you escort in the Cursed Shore cannot/will not?
You’d think that a packheart belonging to a Vigil Crusader would be even more capable of fighting back, especially if it’s going through the Cursed Shore…meh. Anyone else find this odd?
At least they’re not Sega. Or EA. Or (insert other companies/game developers who never do anything right). ArenaNet at least does some things right still.
I dunno…those screeches sounded a bit too long to just be covering that up.
Because we have /threaten and /point.
Warning: Slight spoilers. Also maximum title length of 45 characters is annoying.
Luring it with an Orrian artifact that can make portals? Not a good idea.
“You cannot hide, you cannot surprise me. I see all, especially with “Show all enemy names” checked in the option menu. Zhaitan’s gaze cannot be avoided."
(edited by Nilkemia.8507)
Not just any 6 minions. He summons five Flesh Golems and a Shadow Fiend (They’re all named “Elite Minion” in this case however). And on top of this, he never does it again, not even during the boss fight in that very same mission.
Can normal necromancers summon six at once? I can see up to five at all times, six if we’re counting the jagged horrors (requires a specific trait though.)
The best way would be to separate PvE map completion and WvW map completion, and give one Gift of Exploration for either map being completed.
Eh.. no thanks.
