AvAvA is short for Alliance vs. Alliance vs. Alliance. So instead of Server vs. Server vs. Server, you’d have alliances not linked to the server you’re on, which makes it unimportant what server you’re on, or what server your guild mates are on.

You’re forgetting the point of this thread’s 10 suggestions: “simple things”. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with this AvAvA-thing, but i’m saying it would basically change WvW complitely. So it’s not a “simple thing”. And it is not related to the original topic either.

Indeed. Its not simple. And in particular, I dont think its good.

The only reason we have good communities now is just because its still server vs server in WvW. Its manageable. A server often has a public TS. The server I am on has a huge TS with all guilds on it. We can gather on commanders and have fun together, we can easily join each others closed raids if there is a need.

If you where to make AvA, then it will become unmanageable. No one can maintain a TS for 6+ servers. No one will want to do that just for the “greater good”. Guilds will keep to themselves, pug commanders wont have TS.

Its going to ruin WvW and turn it into a quiet battlefield of headless chickens running after commanders that cant talk. If Anet would step up and make a huge alliance TS with 500+ guild channels, all the border channels etc and so on then fine, it could be doable. One huge official TS server per alliance.

But I think we all know that is completely unrealistic. Not going to happen. They wont even allow a competetive WvW forum where we could write stuff to each other, imagine them having a place we could talk? Lol!

Well said! This already happens in eotm so ill stay in WvW where i play with the same ole reliable peple everyday instead of a bunch of randoms that dont care about anything but capcapcapcapcapcap.

I’m not saying there’s a problem with publicly stating that the hacker had been dealt with and banned. But the video was not appropriate. They absolutely should say that they’ve banned serious offenders like that, people should know. However, they shouldn’t post immature and unprofessional videos showing them needlessly toying with an account when they should have just banned it.

Me and many friends had a good laugh with that video. Probably the same fun as this lowlife hacker had with annoying hundreds of people day in and day out. This is a right movement, publicy name and shame them who are doing this.

I dont hate it but I dont play it either. Real WvW much better. There, my 2 cents.

Hyenas are rather easy to avoid by running past them. Same counts for any other “melee” mob.

This doesn’t seem unusual if it’s in the context of WvW. I think people even do this with well-known commanders to check and see when a zerg transfers to their map.

I’m not saying it’s okay for people to follow and harass you, but people stalking you in WvW is definitely a different context than someone following you around outside of WvW.

That actually happened yeah. People would just follow well known commanders to see which map they are on. Has been disabled after couple of complaint thread. Now you wont see their location if they are in same matchup.

If you are an ele, mesmer or thief you can blink away from the well.
If you are a warrior you can run up to -97% immob duration or trait for movement skills remove immob.
Engis can use one condi clear and elixir S. There is also a trait to cut condis duration by 50% hoelbrak -40% food…

You can also don’t get caught by a well.

Even if you have 4 thieves with traited venon, the necro will get only 12 charges. If there are 5 players inside the well it will apply only 2/3 immobs per target after he runs out of charges.

Venoms are weak in spvp. One of the only ways to nerf them in wvw without affecting spvp is to just add a cap on the amount of charges you can get from each kind of vennom. Cap it at 8 because realistically you won’t have more than 2 thieves using venom share in the same team in spvp ever.

No, it is a pretty solid argument. You forgot the other 4 warrior war horn converting it to boons. The 5 guardians cleansins, the 2 engineers using Fumigate for AoE cleaning on 5 targets and so on.

It really does no one any good to pretend only one side of a battle can act in this situation.

you forget the conditions stacked on you from getting boons corrupted. plus the reapplication of immob every pulse the well has. you might even be able to survive the first bomb. they will come back 35s later with another set of condis for you to cleanse.

Good he has been banned and also good to know video evidence DOES help to stop this kitten. I really enjoyed the video, especially the guy claiming he was it and will take blizzard to court etc.

There is a way to bypass the legendary defenders, however if you get to top of stairs or so they will get booted out. How they do it is unknown to me.

I am just to lazy to change my builds and swap gears, thats why i have 2 rangers and 2 guardians.

T7 here and we get que’s on EB to prime-time.
and outside of prime it’s a roamers’ paradise with many solo-cappers & havoc groups running around, without having to fear to get steam-rolled by zone-blobbs.

solo capping and havoc groups sounds terribly boring to me. Basically the definition of dead WvW. I feel like in T1 there is not enough going on, cant imagine how it is in T7.

It’s more fun and skillful then zerging all the time. All i do is roam and havoc. But each to their own.

Immob has been a problem in this game for a long time. They’ve done nothing to fix it before so I’m not sure why they’d fix it now. I suspect the answer were likely to get is simply to not get caught in the wells enmass.

They fixed immob by making it stack duration..

The problem is you ask it in the wvw subforum, something the Devs completely ignore unless they seek for another victim for their forum specialist programs.

Some people get the stuff they want in 1 hit where as others can farm for years without getting it. That is how RNG works and anets type of RNG isnt that good enough to rely on it at all.

You know right that you can just put down a siege disable and kill it with your siege that you got up inside your keep or tower?

I’d rather see a couple of people doing it then the majority. Think ac could use a fixed camera now with this change. Shooting all the siege inside from other side of wall is just ridicilous.

“grinding” is NOT a mandatory thing to do in this game. However if you want some goodies you will have to work for it, something people tend to call a “grind”.

Who cares about EOTM and being removed and such. I dont like pve so shall i advocate to remove it, or shall i play wvw and ignore the stuff i dont like. Be glad they ktrain in there instead of creating a queue in the real WvW.

When enemies show up on you out of the blue they may have used aoe stealth skills like mesmers veil/mass invisible.

A lot of hackers roll Mesmer or thief to make it hard to tell if they just stealthed or portalled etc.

However this is not the case here. These two flip an entire border in 15 mins. They reappear seconds after you kill them. Yesterday they were even flying golems into a fully upgraded and defending SM. Yes, flying, not even hiding it.

Moraxxo, I believe there’s a person to contact in game called proheals, there may be a few more devs that are on and can help too. He can swap to that server and check or ours when it’s happening.

For these hackers..

This remind me of mesmers and thieves hiding in keeps after the keep is captured by opposite server. I suspect they abusing that same code. That is why alot of player suggested before; once a keep is captured, all the enemy server players who are hiding will be kick out- like thief and mesmer.

And the only way a keep can be captured is to break gates and wall. So why Arena net refuse these suggestions?

If Arena net write codes to enforce that, none of this would ever happen or would be very hard for hackers to do.

Suggestion:

Example: not a coder or programmer

code 1- Entrance to keep is restricted only by destruction of gate and walls.
code 2- All entrance to keep will automatically be ground targeted “weigh down” -no jumping.
code 3- all entrance to keeps will be ground level.
code 4- limit portal and stealth access inside all keeps
code 5- restrict all stealths and portals once inside lords keep
code 6- Enforce a strong security system in all keeps: example; like a security system in a car- any disturbance or force entrance will call immediate attention.
code 7-Alll keep lords and guards will have full permission to instant kill any threats and disturbance and ban them automatically temp. until Arena net investigate.
code 8- give all lords and guards “true sight” abilities and “true sound” abilities to spot hackers and any threats.

True sight- Ability to see invisible like stealth
True sound-Ability to hear the smallest noise

Example: if no wall or gate is down and there is noise inside keep, security alarm will activate. If no wall or gate is down and there is invisibility inside keep, security alarm will activate.

code 9- once keep is captured, restrict all port and invisibility access include lords and inside keep.

Code 10: Sweep the keeps for hiding players, this one will make all 9 codes above unnecessary.

Yarr, tbh I like this new meta, over 2 years of melee-hammer-stun-train were pretty boring too. The ususally raid set-up was mostly 2 guardian, 2 warriors and 1 ele, only 3 of 8 professions. Where was the fun for the other professions in guild raids? You have risked a /gkick when I have shown up with your ranger.

Anet do not care about WvW, so they cannot be bothered to stop the hacks.

The simple solution is to patch it so those hacks cannot be used, instead they claim to ban hackers, which is a one by one process, and the player will only be banned if a GM sees them hacking in the game whilst they are online, videos dont count.

These hackers are just considered part of the game now, hence why they are so willing to show off their hacks to everyone, they dont hide that they are using them cos they know it will take a very long time for them to get banned!

Exactly. You can provide as much videos/screenshots about them hacking in front of your nose, yet a GM has to catch them redhanded before they do something about it. ( IF they do something about it is.)

Personally, I would recommend ranger. You have decent mobility through the signet and you can solo very easily as well as tab/autoattack at range to farm hearts and DE’s. The pets can also be used to distract mobs if you need to claim something and you cannot clear everything by yourself.

Coming to think of it, I do all open-world content pretty much exclusively on my ranger.

^this. Especially the commune skill points are so kitten ed easy as ranger. Sent pet to the mobs that would otherwise interupt you and simply do the cast, then walk off. Also works on champions guarding chests and whatnot.
