Not to be rude or anything, but why must people make a big deal out of this? Sylvari do this all the time.
Also, I’m more interested in Taimi. After all, she is wanted under suspicion for aiding and abetting Scarlet. I’m very interested to not only see if this is true, but how it happened if it did. Did Taimi know Scarlet before she went crazy? Did Scarlet have occasional bouts of sanity and befriended Taimi then? Did she manage to trick Taimi into helping her? To me this is far more interesting than Kasmeer’s/Marjory’s love for each other (personally I think it might have made for a better story if Kasmeer had loved Marjory but Marjory tried to keep things professional between them but that’s just me).
Since when is Taimi wanted? I think you’re mixing her up with Heal-o-Tron, who’s wanted by the Seraph for aiding Scarlet (even though he was just her captive). Taimi had an unhealthy interest in Scarlet, but if you talk to her after you’ve beaten Scarlet you’ll find out she’s quite happy that Scarlet is gone. All the death she’s seen around her seems to have changed her opinion on wanting to meet Scarlet.
In the next release he should definitely be called Hero-Tron.
I don’t think there were many interesting karma vendors in LA anyway, you’ll find most interesting karma stuff on maps, either from completed heart missions or the merchants in Orr.
I can understand there are differences between minis (Mini Mr. Sparkles is almost the size of a small Asura) but since these minis are supposed to be based on the same character it just struck me as odd that there’s such a huge difference.
Also, if you pick the other option than “I killed her” she asks you to deliver her a message that she’ll make her pay for what she’s done. Maybe Anet got worried about people thinking she might be too much into Scarlet and become unlikable?
I hope Tara Strong will do more voicework for GW2 in the future
I’m not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but I wanted to bring it to your attention anyway. Mini armored scarlet is a mini-mini. She’s about half the size of Mini Holographic Scarlet.
As people have mentioned in other threads, thanks to Braham Scarlet could never tell us why she did the things she did. I for one would love to know more about her reasons for doing all the things she did, and what went through her mind while she did it. Just saying “Dragon told her to do it” doesn’t cut it in my opinion.
I really hope Anet will give us this information in the form of another diary, or maybe a hologram she recorded during a moment of sanity.
Please Anet, don’t leave us wondering on the big “Why?” question.

To be honest, I think personally my biggest problem is Braham – acting as ANet proxy – saying “we don’t want to know more”, as in, “we don’t have all the answers to give you so go away please”. I was like, the hell I don’t! I’ve been waiting for Scarlet to spill the beans for ages, but then Leroy Marjory and Ham-Boy here just go RAAAAARGH and I’m standing there fiddling with my gear. Great.
Really? I’d say Braham was acting as the fanbase proxy. This forum especially was rife with complaining about people claiming they don’t care about Scarlet or what she thinks she’s doing or why she’s doing it and that she should just die and go away now please.
Well, we got what we claimed we wanted.
Speak for yourself please, I would have liked to know her reasons. I hope Anet will somehow give us that information (either another diary, or a hologram that explains her actions that she recorded during a moment of sanity, or anything).
During the past few LS updates I got quite invested in Scarlet’s story. Lots of questions have been asked, some have been answered but a lot remain. I would love to know why she did it and what went through her mind while she did it.

I didn’t have a Spinal backpiece and I got to Scarlet on my first try. So I doubt that really does anything. There is an achievement for equipping the backpiece, but you don’t need to do it in order to get to Scarlet (unless just having made one counts, I made it but haven’t equipped it yet)

Maybe you should come with new, better arguments when your current ones aren’t enough to convince people. Just repeating the same argument over and over won’t change my mind on it not holding up.
No idea what your screenshot’s supposed to prove :P
Is there any way to rewatch this particular cinematic? Because on my computer, the sound never works during these things (also had that issue with the tower collapsing and the destruction of Lion’s arch).

Ah, but as we all know the council are a bunch of pirates. And a clever businessman like Evon would know how to get the council to vote on something. He has leverage, which is why he is the right man for the job. You might not like him, but the council is an ex-pirate council. You’re not going to get anything done by being nice, which Kiel just learned the hard way. Evon is entirely right. The blood of all those dead civilians is on the hands of both the Council and Kiel. They brought this theater of death upon them selves, and us.
And in regards to Evon closing the gate, he was entire right to do so. Those supplies needed to be brought to safety, and those civilians should simply head for the other exits. If we can run to the exits, than so can they. Besides, we can’t have a bunch of Aetherblades or Krait going through that portal after the Dolyaks. Our supplies need to be secured, if we want to have even the slightest chance of striking back at our foes.
Because clearly some supplies are more important than the lives of the people who didn’t make it to the other exits.
Hmm, love capitalism. Let’s get rich over the dead bodies of others
I think we’ll still be getting plenty of these as we’re still going to fight a lot of Scarlet’s goons during the upcoming battle for LA.
I think it would be a nice addition to be able to dye weapons, because then it’d be easier to match them with the character’s clothes.
My main character is in purple/blue/silver tints, while the hilt of her sword is a goldish brown, which just doesn’t match. I do like the overall design of the sword and I won’t change it for just the colour, but I do think it’d be a nice addition.
Usually during the evening European time/afternoon American time.

Just because you keep repeating it, doesn’t make it true.
But hey, why should we listen to you anyway? You’re just trolling everybody by playing the ultimate Gnashblade fanboy. I mean, judging from the way you argue and the way you formulate your sentences, you seem way too intelligent to actually support that goon. Besides, all your posts about his “heroics” are so full of sarcasm it’s practically dripping off my screen. Bravo sir, bravo
Not sure what you’re getting at. I’m just a mere supporter speaking the truth to everyone. Evon, being the great hero that he is, does what he needs to in order to protect the citizens of Lion’s Arch. Had he been elected to the Council, the city wouldn’t have been destroyed. Minstrels sing songs about what “could have been”. But I’m not surprised that Kiel supporters continue their on-going campaign to smear Evon, even after all the advanced warnings he gave about the imminent attack. It seems it’s more important to make Kiel look good, than for her protect the city.
I’m pretty sure it would have made no difference. Instead of Kiel moping that the council won’t listen to her, it would have been Evon, and instead of Evon moping nobody listened to him, it would have been Kiel.
So in the end they both would be moping about people not listening to them, just in different places. The outcome would have been the same, the council would have ignored all warnings and LA would have been destroyed nontheless.
In the end, it’s not Kiel’s fault, or Evon’s, it’s the council’s fault for ignoring obvious warnings Scarlet was building up to something big.
My kitty Zojja dreams of people doing nice things for each other.
That, or fish. Lots of yummy fish.

I do wonder how Smooth Penguin will defend this. Although he’ll probably just blame it on Kiel.
I’m still not sure if SP is really a fanatic Gnashblade supporter, or if he’s just trolling us. It’s probably the latter.
Shud asked to shut down the gate, the gate was shut down. Citizens got out using a different gate. What’s the problem?
So why does Shud act so surprised when Evon shuts off the gate? Clearly he didn’t think Evon would actually do it.
And what’s the problem? If I were near the gate that could get me to safety and some scumbag turns it off because of his personal issues with the Captain’s council, forcing me to run through a battle zone with a good chance of not making it out alive, I’d have a problem with that.
Yet, they have the “butt-capes”. Just make capes like that, don’t make them flow too much but make them kind of wrap around the character.
Trahearne: “Commander, we have to defeat Zhaitan!”
Commander Skritt: “… Shinies?”
When I first saw Rata Sum like this, I felt rather small

Evon is evil. He blocked the evacuation portal in LA with his dolyaks, and after he went through it, he closed the portal from the other side, forcing poor civilians to evacuate through different ones! Also when talking in the Vigil keep, you don’t need to listen too long to know that he is selfish liar who wishes Kiel death and does everything for money, not caring about the others (lying that now because of the Lionguard people are dying in LA, while he himself closed the evacuation portal).

Everyone abruptly turns around and stares at Danicia with expectant puppy dog eyes.
Oh no! Not that!
I myself are a bit torn on Quaggans. Some of them are cute and funny, but their slow speech can really grind my gears sometimes. Especially during the Quaggan part of the personal story, if you choose to help them out. On the other hand, I love the quaggan couple that’s been around during the living story and I think the design in general is quite cute, and the “dark side” they have (as in, becoming evil creepy fish monsters) when they get angry is an interesting little thing.
So yeah, I like quaggans as long as I don’t have to talk for them for too long I especially like the ones that are made to look like a killer whale.
My charr engineer is called Trogdor Burnfoe (because burninator was already taken). He burninates things with his flamethrower. I love meeting fellow Trogdors in-game Also love it when people get the reference.
My favourite line she shouts is “You’re dumb. You’ll die and leave a dumb corpse". I wish I heard it more often.
I’ve never heard that one, what ususally triggers it?
It’s a more then likely scenario. When your house burns and the closest exit of the city leads towards the wall, will go there and look for shelter, or take the long way through the burning city to reach the exit, through fire, poison, krait and dredge?
Will YOU have the calm head and remember the warnings, or keep faith in tengumanity and hope for shelter while everything you call dear and home is razed to the ground?
We may have not seen the NPCs run there, but you tell me how this is not a likely thing to happen? People jump from the windows of a burning building into certain death when it seems the only way out. Unless proven otherwise, it is a rather reasonable assumption that there should be a fair share of citizens piling up near the wall.
If there’s a giant wall that’s never been opened, I don’t think I’ll take my chances. And who knows, maybe they actually tried to let in civilians but then Scarlet’s goons arrived at the wall and killed some of their people, which in turn made them decide to defend the wall at all costs. Maybe they’re trying to defend a bunch of helpless civilians on the other side of the wall, you don’t know, nobody does (except for Anet).
Dungeon runners already have plenty of cool armours to choose from. Leave something for the casual players.
Also, you talk about prestige. Prestige isn’t something that just comes from looks, it’s determined by how people perceive something. Everybody knows that Zodiac armour is bought with gems, and there’s little prestige in that. So it’s not a very prestigious set anyway, it just looks fancy.
I hate it when people want everything that looks nice to be only available to people who run dungeons or play WvW or whatever. If it was for them, all the casual players would just walk around in standard beginner’s armour with plain weapons and nothing fancy at all.
Stop being so elitist about it. Just because you have the time to do dungeons or WvW doesn’t make you any better than people who just play PvE.
Don’t take an aggressive defense position, I don’t want to offend you. I also mentioned that ‘prestige-ish’ looking armor should only be available via hard content. You have the position of ‘I am too lazy to do a dungeon but I still want the best and coolest stuff’. This is a new stance towards gaming and a result of easy achievment mobile game industry. Perhaps I am old fashioned (I play games since the late 80ies), but where I came from you had to work towards the most fancy items.
You also didn’t mention why you don’t do dungeons. I already told you that running a dungeon doesn’t take a lot of time with the exception of Arah maybe (though there is a one short path). You can do most dungeons within 15-20 minutes, or 30-40 minutes for a sub-par run.
Just consider this: instead of labelling me an elitist and complaining, go out there, run a dungeon, EARN your armor after a couple of weeks and feel the achievement!
I’ll be earning my dungeon armour, I never said I wouldn’t. I’m just saying that people who say all the fancy armour should only for people who play the game a lot are just being unfair to people who have to combine a job, studies and a family life and can only play for a few hours a week.
Allow other players to have a few fancy things too even if they don’t play often. You can still clearly see they didn’t clear a dungeon for it, it’s not like all dungeon armour can suddenly be acquired through the TP or anything.
You’re talking as if thousands have been massacred by the tengu. From what I see, only previously warned players have been shot by the tengu.
They people who’re shouting the Tengu should burn are most likely the people who chose to ignore the warning and walked up to the wall, died, and had to pay for WP and repairs.
So in the end, people are calling for a whole race to be destroyed, because they themselves ignored warnings that had been in the game since launch, and because of their own stupidity lost a few silver.
No wonder we haven’t achieved universal peace yet.
Why would they ban someone from just playing the game? There’s nothing wrong with “farming” as long as you don’t hinder other players in doing so. Much of the game is based around the idea of farming materials.
Uh huh. I can almost see it happen.
“Yeeeeah, we’re somewhat sorry about what happened there in Lion’s Arch. Shooting on everything that comes close to our walls, civilians included. We could have saved thousands of lives that day. Our bad. We cool now? We kinda need some help over here with some dragon..”
“Go kitten yourself.”
They’ve been warning people not to get too close to the wall since the game was released, if you’re stupid enough to still approach the wall despite that warning, don’t cry because they finally decided to actually do so. From the top of the wall it would be difficult to see who’s approaching, safest option is to just defend from anything just in case it’s hostile.
Well I certainly wouldn’t “upgrade” from windows 7 to windows 8, but everything is saved on the servers, not your computer. You may want to put the game on an external HD though so you don’t have to redownload all 20GB again.
Me neither, clean install is always the way to go.

Quite a nice idea, but it would require a lot of memory to save all that information :P And it would be rather unfair towards supports, since they don’t really kill as much
How would it be more information than counting how many you’ve killed of x? It’s just a counter, they’re easy to implement and don’t require a lot of data (it’s just a number that needs to be increased every time you save a civilian).
i don’t think another race will ever be implemented. it would be way too much work to modify every existing armor towards another body structure.
The tengu use the same mesh as the Charr, so they’d get the same armour as the charr.
Dungeon runners already have plenty of cool armours to choose from. Leave something for the casual players.

Can I suggest a mini taimi available to all with a portion of profits going to a multiple sclerosis related charity?
I’d buy it. Maybe even several
But one thing that comes to mind: such an epic look should be reserved for Dungeon rewards as Ascended armor skins. It has much more prestige.
Why should all the good stuff be only available for people who grind dungeons? Let the people who just play PvE or don’t have time to play a dungeon twenty times have something nice for a change
Wasn’t the point of this thread the fact that the event was gone before anyone had a chance to do that?
