What I’m wondering is, if Rytlock could lift the curse, why didn’t he do it before? After all, the ghosts are mostly an issue the Charr have to deal with over and over. Why wait so long before getting rid of them?
Characters from Destiny’s edge should appear throughout the living story more often. Right now it’s as if they’re just sitting on their lazy bottoms instead of actually doing something.
“We beat Zhaitan, we’re done. Leave the other dragons to someone else.”
I remember when I first played Fable II I didn’t realise I could use the menu to travel to maps instantly, so I walked everywhere all the time. Best way I ever played that game
With GW2, if you choose to do that you’ll mostly just miss out on events because it’ll be done by the time you get there. I still prefer waypoints over mounts though. People who want that are just silly.
Trahearne never steals credit, he makes it out to be a group effort (even though most of the time the groups is downed and the PC is the only one actually beating up the badguys).
And be glad he’s the leader of the pact, imagine all that boring paperwork he does for you
I wonder if they will implement a reminder to let players know that excessive amounts of time spent in game are unhealthy.
Or an option where you can set how many hours you can play each day and able to lock it in for a month or so before you can change it.
If you’re really addicted you’ll just find ways around it.
I liked Scarlet and I hope she’ll come back. Would that be the best writing ever? Probably not, but would I care? Nope.
It’s a game. As long as the story’s engaging I don’t care if it’s not Shakespeare.
Anyone remember Raisinface? That piece of dialog never got old
Guild Wars has a lot of lore. I do agree that more of it should make it into the game but it’s not like it isn’t there…
You thought I had given up didn’t you?
(Seriously, if it’s not possible to get it as a wallpaper just let me know and I’ll stop asking but a reply from Anet isn’t that much to ask for right? )
…
Another thing is, they’re not afraid of copying good features from other games and they don’t give a kitten if they created it. Their games and brands adapt.
…and this is where arenanet fails so hard – arenanet wanna reinvent the wheel on everything
everything what was working in other games they dont just copy they think they can do it better and brainstorm everything to deaththings like raids -> worldbosses with complete map = horrible
good game you all forgot was:
Lineage 2 (this game had alot good features and new things and was up same time as wow)my first mmo was Legend of Mir 3^^
If everyone just copies from others and nobody ever tried something new, everything would be the same. And I’m glad Arenanet made GW2 into something that is completely different from WoW because if I wanted to play WoW instead of GW2 I’d be playing WoW instead of GW2.
Sounds good, would also save the hassle of having to get the miniature out whenever you change maps.
Why does everyone want GW2 to become WoW? If you want to play WoW, go play WoW instead of turning GW2 into WoW
bump Not giving up yet!
To be honest I think there should be an independent research and trial concerning the facts that both Gnashblade and Kiel warned the captain’s council – and yet they did nothing until it was too late. I’d actually see Gnashblade and Kiel set their differences aside on this one to make sure the ones who are truly responsible for LA being such an easy target don’t get away with it.
Yep, apparently this is the actual one that sunk Titanic.
Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll get new armour sets. In the gemstore :P
What could possibly take down a giant ship……………………….A large block of ice …
ask Captain Edward J. Smith.
So the running joke on the forums is that Smooth is an Evon shill. Every now and then he’ll write one of these theories to continue the joke, it’s just been a while since he’s had any material to work with.
The problem is that as a joke wears thing, it stops being funny and it becomes annoying
Don’t read the threads then.
I think it’s more immersing than the in-game election itself was when folks continue the rivalry into the forum.
But the threads that follow tend to be interesting. Such a dilemma

Nothing? Nobody?
I would love it if the image on this page was released as a wallpaper.

Other than Weyandt’s Revenge I never really saw much use for this item :P And even then I always forget to bring it…
Oh look, this again. No thanks.
You act as if you were actually hoping for this thread not to be here…
Actually I think it’s Smooth Penguin. He bribed an employee at Anet in order to get this whole thing worked into the story, so he could blame Kiel. It’s all a conspiracy I say
How is duelling different from a custom arena? Or is it just that people don’t want to have to buy a custom arena starter kit?
If duelling means randomly challenging people in the open world, then I’m against it. I already spend enough time filtering out all the goldspammers, don’t feel like also having to filter out the duellists.
I’m saying it was Gnashblade because he’s still bitter from missing out on that trade agreement. Such a sore loser
Thanks After today I should finally have time to catch up with the developer live streams
It does make me wonder more about the things Taimi says in her log entry, something among the lines of the Zephyrites taking on a lot of cargo and being very eager to go wherever they are going. I’m now curious about what their cargo is, and where they were going (I’m guessing not Cantha because that’s South of where they currently are and Maguuma is all the way to the West)
I don’t see why this is worthy of creating a topic. Or do you expect someone to feel sorry for you and send you a precursor?
While it’s good to have merchants/TP/Bank several places on the same map, it does kinda spread people out too much. What i miss about the old lions arch is that everyone was staying in the same place, so you had a nice opportunity to meet new people, get buffs, or just hang out.
You seem to forget the lag that came with all those people in one spot. Now they’re spread a bit more thinly and the game seems less laggy for it. I call that an improvement.
Did I miss something? Where does it say they got a real orchestra? That would be awesome.
There’s a video in which Maclaine Diemer mentions that since the GW2 soundtrack doesn’t actually have enough seperate tracks they decided to also use tracks from the previous games, also because it would allow people who didn’t play the first game and its expansions that much to hear the music that they’d otherwise miss out on.
Some people hate it because to them, certain songs should only be linked to a particular part of the game or a particular scene, I myself am glad because I didn’t play the GW1 expansions at all so I would have missed out on some great tracks.
If you’re interested in the video, here’s a link: http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/c/3104418
Leif Chapelle and Maclaine Diemer talk about the music they’ve written for the game, and also try to answer some of the questions people seem to be having a lot (like why the music from the first game keeps popping up, why Jeremy Soule probably won’t write any new music for GW2 and some other things you might or might not find interesting).
I never noticed the Charr tanks are supposed to look like Charr heads. Maybe I was too distracted by the strange wheel placement within its tracks
That’s it, all Arenanet employees should from now on be banned from watching Game of Thrones because as soon as we love something, they destroy/kill it
Today it worked again for me, but then after I logged in, it redirected me to the download page. Then I had to click the Forums link again, and press Sign In, and after that I was signed in.
edit: nevermind, if I sign in on the main page and then try to open the forums, the link is still broken.

Tara Strong’s portrayal of Scarlet actually made me like the character. For a character that’s not that well written (though she got more interesting in the end) Tara Strong still made the character appeal to me.
I really hope she’ll do more voiceover work for GW2 in the future.
edit: and there’s a reason I refer to insane Scarlet as “crazy-bubbles Scarlet” :P
Those spiders are so experienced in combat even their young ones are born veterans and champions.
thanks, ya idk cus lotta people been telling me that ranger is useless – but the people I run dungeons with say I’m great to have, and I LOVE WARRIOR but people are like “meh…not great dps…”
so what do people like the best these days? I know guardian is loved, but to me its not fun at all!
btw I think warr is the only class atm that can Solo ARAH…? why do people say it sucks then?
Just because other people don’t know how to play a class doesn’t stop you from playing a class that you like. When people say your favourite class is bad, prove them wrong
I didn’t pay attention to the name and thought it was a foodbuff… Then everything was bobbled for an hour I’m considering getting one of my own.
I think when you’re in the hunter’s lodge in Queensdale, at one point Emi says something along the lines of “This lodge definitely needs more slaughter” and Chiffly responds with “More killing, too”.
I always found that to be quite random but funny.
So when can we start smacking those looters?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: OmaiGodman.2098
I was under the impression that some of these “looters” are actually ex-home owners from Lion’s Arch.
Be careful who you’re taking out. :/
loot (lo?o?t)
n.
1. Valuables pillaged in time of war; spoils.
2. Stolen goods.
I’m sure the previous home owners wouldn’t need to steal their belongings back, we’re talking about thieves here who’re taking advantage of other people’s misfortune.
I think things like the Scarlet invasions and other zergy things could be omitted, but most of the content could be made available in one way or another. Twisted Marionette could be made into a world boss, the Tower of Nightmares could be reworked into a dungeon (just needs a bit of tweaking on the amount of mobs to make it possible to do with a party of 5 instead of a zerg). Same for the Aetherblade dungeon in Lion’s Arch. I think it’s a shame that awesome content like that will be gone forever. Make it part of the fractals if you can’t place it anywhere else.
As for the marionette, just make it that the Priory re-activates the thing for “research purposes” and people can be the guinea pigs (and then basically just recreate the fights as they once were – just replace the Breachmaker with something else to hold the thing up).
If people can come together to beat Tequatl or the three-headed worm, I’m sure they’ll love to come together for the Marionette. Heck, I’d create a Marionette-Slappers guild for that purpose.
Wear a swimsuit while battling the Claw of Jormag and meanwhile freezing our bottoms off because it’s at least -30 degrees? Count me in
Reminds me of the time in WvW when we rushed an enemy zerg in our underwear. And got killed. But it was fun.
Everyone’s character looks turn into Scarlet.
I already have a character who’s pretty much a copy of Scarlet (for as far as the game would allow)
All world bosses should be replaced with Jack-in-a-Box versions of themselves, and all loot chests contain a Jack-in-a-Box minstrell like the minstrell finisher.
I’d love a way to replay the twisted marionette, I’m sure they could somehow work that into a world boss like Tequatl or the three-headed worm.
I doubt it. No one really liked it. I’m pretty sure you’re the only person to inquire after it on the whole forum.
Could you be a bit more careful? I’m all covered in sarcasm now It stains my clothes
Because when you take fall damage you get placed in combat, removing any costume, breaks the roleplay, obviously!
Didn’t they remove that when they introduced the wardrobe system?
Yeah, let’s make racial cities server-only again. That’ll solve the issue with them being empty all the time. Oh wait, it won’t.
People complain about cities being empty > Anet does something about that. Now people complain about people from other servers being in their cities.
Just visit your home instance to get that good old empty city feeling…
