Maybe it’s an idea that after an event has finished, the scripts are made public on either the site or the forums for people to read them and use it for future reference

Anyone who’s finished Fable 2 knows how disappointing an underwhelming final boss can be (in Fable 2 he literally just stood there, and if you waited to long to one-shot him, an NPC would do it for you). So if they do anything like that, I’ll be severely disappointed.

If what she’s drilling for is indeed an elder dragon, I could live with an overly dramatic cinematic in which she is killed by said dragon. But it has to be extremely dramatic and with lots of slow-motions so that we can all enjoy it to its fullest.

You don’t have to wait for that though, you can just jump into the Asura gate in Hoelbrak, it’ll take you to the Vigil Keep where you can take another portal to any major city (Rata Sum for Asura, Divinity’s Reach for Humans, Black Citadel for Charr and the Grove for Sylvari).

I often first explore all the cities and starter areas with my new characters, by the time you’ve done that you’ll have leveled quite a bit

Why is this even in game? Love trolling players that much? Have things really devolved so badly?

They have been warning people away from their city since launch.
at the moment there is a war on their doorstep.
They have never been exactly friendly- what did you expect they would do.

As for why it is in they game, because it makes sense?

If any thing I think it is a really nice reminder from Anet, considering the amount of “oh the Tengu will open their doors” threads on the forums recently

I don’t know about you but if they ever come out of there?

. . . that night I dine on chicken soup. There will be deaths aplenty, and enough to put the massacre of Caromi for feather farming to shame . . .

Unless the devs decide to make them all friendly making it impossible for you to attack them.

Problem?

the Asuran woman that lost her spouse, who had died in her arms then was taken away to a mass grave…

kitten you, ANet. I am emotionally invested.

My thoughts exactly. Had a bit of a “wtf?” moment there, didn’t expect writing this dark in GW2. People dying in a tale of adventurers is one thing, talking about the actual horrors of war is another because we know this kind of stuff happens in the real world.

This update is much closer to our physical world than a threat by a bunch of Dragons that you never get to see. Wars happen. Look at Syria right now. I think that’s why this whole thing with refugees is much more investing that a bunch of invisible dragons.

Why do people think LA will be rebuilt?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

OmaiGodman.2098

My guess is that they’re going to rebuild LA, but only with the services you currently find at the Vigil keep, so no more crafting stations. You’ll have to go to the racial cities for those, or fork out gold/gems for a special pass. I think the idea behind this (next to making money of course), is to force more people into the racial cities.

Honest question, do you read the news ?

Even so, I am not sure that logging out of something that is supposed to be fun when it annoys you is an overreaction at all.

If it was something that’s difficult to overcome, I could understand the reaction, but the solution here is to just WP out of Lion’s Arch and presto, the whole issue is solved.

Soon: The dragons actually turn out to be aliens, female characters will have to stop fighting and can only stand around and look sexy, black characters are all going to die and of course, more explosions!

totally agree with OP, this has been really fun, i had a fun time following heal-o-tron xD and then watching Evon being threatened by that pesky little asura from the lionguard

That was really bizarre. Evon is in Vigil keep. No way does the Lionguard have jurisdiction there. Have I misunderstood something about the authority of the Lionguard here? First Kiel is telling Dessa what to do in the freaking Mists and now she’s telling Evon what to do in Vigil Keep. Where does her authority come from?

Since he’s a citizen of Lion’s arch they probably do. He could run away but if they catch him doing so, they’ll gun him down. It’s a warzone right now and then, other rules apply.

But I feel sorry for the guy. First time I ever sympathized with Gnashblade. On the other hand, given the current situation he should co-operate in arming the forces to defend/take back LA, it’s just the right thing to do. Times like this shouldn’t be times to look at money, best he can do is document everything and see if he can get his money after the whole ordeal is over.

No-one is a citizen of Lion’s Arch right now, it was destroyed. He should be free to do whatever he wants outside of Lion’s Arch (can all the other former Lion’s Arch refugees be conscripted under threat of execution?). Even if he were, he’s not in Lion’s Arch any more, how can they enforce their laws on him? Isn’t it out of character for Kiel to use legal technicalities to control people? She seemed to have a problem with the consortium doing that exact thing yet she herself isn’t above doing it to a Lion’s Arch refugee.

He’s still going to profit from all of this and I suspect he would have helped regardless of what Kiel did (he says on more than one occasion, what’s good for Lion’s Arch is good for him).

I’m not saying what the Lionguard are doing is right (I liked Gnashblade’s comment on them being useless, because to me that’s what they are) but I’m not a lawyer and even if I were, I’m not schooled in Tyria’s laws so I don’t know what kind of rule they’re using, but it seems that the Lionguard are in charge of the refugee camp where Gnashblade is currently based, he could probably run but if they catch him he’ll be shot for being a deserter, if he got away he’d never be able to set foot in Lion’s Arch again even if it got rebuilt, and I guess he just doesn’t want to risk that.

That said, the snotty little Asura kind of kittened me off.

Is there any lore in this patch?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Posted by: OmaiGodman.2098

OmaiGodman.2098

Well, there’s lots of small pieces of lore in all the refugee camps. If you go there, you’ll find a lot of familiar faces from Lion’s Arch and they’ll tell you what exactly happend to them (although that rarely goes beyond “oh my god, it’s all gone, I lost everything, what am i gonna do now?”)
A lot of it, I find slighty confusing. Like, why is Commodore Lawson Mariner degraded to a simple merchant? Why isn’t Evon Gnashblade selling his stuff through the Blacklion’s tradepost?
And why do people in the refugee camps keep insisting that Scarlet’s attack came totally out of the blue?

Evon is standing right next to several trading post merchants. He never sold things directly, so that makes sense. In lore, the attack did come out of the blue. Marjory, Kiel, and etc. tried to warn the council but were met with no success, extended from the last patch. A lot of citizens are “merchants” now probably to give them more function beyond just npcs standing there.

True, we all knew this was going to happen because of the announcement, but the characters in-game didn’t know anything. They could merely speculate Scarlet’s next move.

Such a shame that some people can’t take a moment to look past game mechanics and just enjoy the scale of the event that’s happening in front of them. When I said epic, I was referring to what is happening and the scale on which it is happening. I wasn’t talking about the bugs (there are always bugs in a new release) or the fact that it’s a zerg fest (which, IMO, in this case helps to create a feeling of scale so in this case I see it as a plus).
