If you pew at someone, and they reflect… before the reflected projectile gets back to hit you, if you then get a reflect field yourself would the reflected projectile reflect off you???
The answer I believe to this is yes…
okay the traits look AMAZING

There is a ranger that I see roaming in WvW and is able to upkeep 2min stacks of swiftness. His stacks hover between 1.43 – 1.56 min to be precise, never ticks below 1.43min. Is this really possible or could the player be cheating? He uses LB and GS as weapon set.
Rune of the Centaur + Guard with shout trait. I maintain perma swiftness LB/GS. On hit we get swiftness too, putting us at over 1 min swiftness almost always. I also run a necromancer with warhorn and have perma swiftness.
Try being a strict WvW player… No dungeons, no fractals… Then complain about gold. My RNG is so bad, after 3 years I still have no Ascended armor / weps, no legendaries, the exotics I see most are “Truth” and “Siege Commander Spoons”… I am currently sitting at 72 gold (which was gambled through the ecto-gambler). Want to talk about no loot? I would love for an ascended chest to drop so I could get a weapon or armor without the tediousness of crafting.
The name fits well…

It is very clear now that our new utility type will be partly AI based so they can “seek out & aid allies” as well as “[with superspeed] deliver their payload really fast”.
Also it was said that they will remain close to your character most of the time, so it indeed seems that they have a passive & active stage. Please, for the love of god, make them invulnerable to dmg while being in their passive phase A-net, else you automatically disqualify this new utility-type to be used in WvW-zerging.
I have no idea what their effects are & I have no idea if they will even become a viable alternative to kits or elixirs, but if they can be destroyed while doing nothing but performing their passive effect, you gifted us with a stillborn utility-type long before you even had to balance their effects.
Well with the Necromancer Minion AI fix, I presume they use the same AI as it took 3 years for them to fix minions… I am guessing the drones will perform functions while also being able to activate special abilities similar to minions for necro…
All non-sacrifice minions heal outside of combat, though its possible that the non-Flesh Golem ones have a slightly different setup since theirs was added later.
:D thanks for this info, I just wish that the Blood Fiend would heal out of combat… It is your heal (active) and if u have to pop this every time because it didnt heal between fights, could be devastating
Just a quick thank you to whoever the dev was that helped make minions responsive. Sincerely, thank you very much.
it only took 3 years to get fixed
Engineers are getting drones (minions), probably use the same AI, so it had to be fixed for the Engi’s!
So this is happening more and more often these days almost 1 in 4 fights results in the enemy logging out at low hp or in downed state. I’m sorry but this is unsportsman like and quite frankly pathetic behaviour.
I won’t name and shame the servers coz you already know who you are or have seen your buddies do it.
Please put in a mechanism that stops the enemies character from disappearing if it’s mid fight in WvW/PvP so we get the reward for beating him/her regardless of wether not he logs out.
Seriously people just stop being mad and admit you got beaten, you’re not 12 years old and most of you are “adults” start acting like it.
This is from almost 3 years ago…

Alt+F4 is no escape
If someone that you’re fighting disconnects during combat (via Alt+F4, killing the client process, etc.) their character will be instantly killed, death penalties will be applied, and XP & loot will be handed out as usual.
Played since headstart as well, just got my 3rd year bday present… They use RNG > Which is impossible to actually be random. They can use a Pseudorandom number generator which is a large number, but it will eventually repeat. Assuming they use a seed for each account, some accounts will always land on the higher end of the RNG spectrum while others will repeatedly land on the lower end. I have come to accept that I myself will never see a legendary, a precursor, an ascended chest (armor or weapon). I have watched players get 2-3 precursors in a night. Several Ascended Chests in the same night and all it does is discourage me more. I took a 7 month hiatus where I only got on for a few minutes at a time, killed a few mobs then just remembered how much I hate not having any luck, so I’d log off again.
Once I accepted that I will never get good drops, I decided just to run with the guild and play some WvW. Maybe one day the system will be fixed or they will make account seeds change every so often to allow other players some luck for once.
Just a question, will be taking part of beta first time with Hot here. If I make beta char it will make a copy of my bank.. this meaning I can use all consumables/runes/armors and so on and wont lose anything from my real account?
Just make sure you are on a BETA character.
Minions need to heal when out of combat, just like the Flesh Golem… Please and thank you! They die so fast in combat, it would be nice to have them heal if they survive
Bone Fiend and Shadow Fiend do heal to full out of combat. The others have sacrifice skills.
Odd, i will have to test this because I could swear only my flesh golem heals outside of combat…

an AI revamp for minions would be the dream <3
Go ingame, test it out, seriously. Allot of the minion problems are fixed right now.
I was downing players in WvW left and right cause they ignored my minions… It was great… All minions instantly turning and smacking the enemy i was attacking!
so we got some spy problem right now on Anvil Rock how can we report them ? I got a video footage of 6 minutes showing 1 in action….
Send the video to exploits@arena.net this is a violation of the Terms of Service. This is purposely sabotaging a server.
EDIT: Guess I was wrong, sorry.

Here’s hoping they wield it like the Monkey King!
I do not play thief but I support this… That would just be awesome… Lol.
Currently picking the Elite Spec unlocks the new profesion mechanic , new weapon and new utility skills, why?
I feel like this too limiting. Profesion mechanic should be the only thing locked by picking the Elit Spec i see no point in skills and weapons to be locked by picking a trait line, none of the skills so far act like this .
It only limits build diversity and it will become even worse with the adding of new specialisations as it means every time we get new skill will only be able to use a set of new skills and the old ones and never more tha that.
For example last beta i really wanted to try out a GS Necro with the normal Death Shroud , but you can’t do that as you need to equip Reaper Specialisation and that changes your death shroud.
This really bothers me, but i dont see anyone talikng about it? So what do you guys think?
Why not make new weapons and skills unlocked no matter if you have equiped the elite specialisation trait line or not? We will still have incentive to use them with their thematic weapons and skills as the traits to improve them are in that trait line, but we will have far more build diversity and choices to make .
I can answer this pretty easily. By allowing the use of the weapon(s), skill(s), and utilities with other combinations means more balance work = longer wait for release. I would love the weapon(s) to be usable outside of the spec though…
The lag has been severe these past few days… Everyone teleporting around, etc… So lag is a high possibility if it happened in last few days. It seems to be persisting today as well.
I know I stopped playing my engineer post patch due to the loss of healing bombs… It completely ruined my build. I used the Healing Bombs trait with the 10% healing power to power conversion… This allowed me to support my teammates and to do decent damage… It is not like we are standing at 1500 range, we are at 0 range doing this…
Come on ANet, show some love!
Been having bad lag since the maintenance.
Wow… if only RANGER auto attack with sword got a response like this… Being rooted by auto attack is horrible…
More improvements coming with our next release. As always, I’d love to hear if anyone notices an improvement. This one should be much more significant. A lot of the improvements so far haven’t been very visible to players, but behind the scenes have really made an impact.
I’ll be shifting my focus back to this in the next couple weeks so I can hopefully get more improvements into the release after next. I’ve been trying to tackle other issues plaguing the client like out of memory crashes and frame-rate hitching in the past week.
As much as I might like to dress up in full costume in my spare time, I’m not superman. One thing at a time

Bill,
This is what we want. Acknowledgement that you guys are hearing our concerns and working on it. The silent treatment is what makes people angry!
Thank you for taking the time to inform us that you are working on this!
EDIT: Since the Moderator decided to merge my thread with this one, my post makes no sense… The Master trait Ambidexterity in Wilderness Survival is broken.
This trait does not apply a reduced cooldown to Torch skills (Throw Torch), but it DOES work for Dagger.
(edited by Otaur.9268)
Mine is still there on my Elementalist… But i have been on a cursed and bugged account since release… So….
So, beta weekend one is behind us, and now that I’ve had some time to ponder, here are my thoughts on three of the specializations: Tempest, Reaper, and Chronomancer. I play the vanilla classes about 30%/50%/20% of the time, respectively, so I feel reasonably qualified to make some comments.
Straight off I know that 97% of the replies to this will be negative, because I’m not going to rabidly gush over the specs and say “Oh ANet, they were perfect, change nothing!” That doesn’t help. I have concerns, and I’m going to voice them. If you disagree, that’s fine. One of my best friends mains an Ele and doesn’t enjoy the Tempest. I don’t scream and rage at him, frothing at the mouth, because of this. So, don’t scream and rage at me because I don’t share your feelings, and I won’t scream and rage at you because you don’t share mine. (I am aware that this is unlikely to help, but hey. I have to try.)
Okay, disclaimer is written. I love debates, so if you have legitimate arguments, I’m open to them. Here we go, team.
Tempest: Overall, it was one of my favorites. I loved it, but that’s because it already fit my playstyle. I play scepter/dagger a lot, so the warhorn was not that much of a stretch. The skills felt strong, and they felt as though they complemented what the Ele already had. All of the attunements were fun to play, while fire and air were my favorite (they usually are). Water makes for some excellent short-range support. That said, I was somewhat bemused by the overload skills. I enjoyed them conceptually, but in practice I felt…Meh. I had a lot of trouble using them, and I think this was because they were channeled. I’d stand there, theatrically pop my overload, and the enemies would run straight through after the Dragonhunter streaking by. I wonder if it would be more effectual to have a shorter channel and have them, perhaps, spawn out from you and move towards targets? Something along those lines, but probably not exactly that. The elite skill also felt lackluster. In dungeon/raid scenarios it might be more useful, but out in the “real world,” a lot of times the next attack is an auttoattack or you’re alone, so it doesn’t seem to do much. I thoroughly enjoyed the Tempest, and with just some minor tweaking, it will be perfect!
Reaper: Normally, I main a Necro. I absolutely love my Necro, and I was really excited to see the Reaper. I have my Ascended greatsword ready, the skin picked out—I am so pumped. After playing the Reaper, I find that I still am pumped. I was absolutely freaking out—my boyfriend and friends can attest. The skills were ridiculous in the best possible way. Nightfall and Gravedigger were my two favorite—the damage was stunning, the animations were awesome, and I was having a lot of fun with it. My concerns were, as with the Tempest, minimal. I would like a leap. Most melee greatsword wielders have a leap, so they don’t always have to trudge up to combat. I think it would make the most sense to put it on Gravedigger, a la Guardian greatsword. I also would not mind seeing a slight damage buff to the shouts. Other than that, the Reaper was fabulously fun, and I intend to take it, even if I don’t use it all the time.
Chronomancer: This was the final spec that I experimented with. Loved it! This, oddly, is my least-played caster, but my “most likely to challenge my main” after the beta. I loved the wells—not only were they beautiful to look at, but they were also extremely useful. I enjoyed the mechanics and the effects. Having more group support is exciting for a Mesmer. I didn’t use the heal well very much, because it doesn’t suit my playstyle; but the others were lovely. The shield was also fantastic; Tides of Time was awesome to watch and also powerful. My one “complaint” was regarding the Continuum skill. It takes a lot of precision to use, and sometimes it is difficult to pull of and still be useful. That said, I have very few complaints with it—the Continuum will take some practice but is probably manageable. Well done on this one—also, thank you, thank you, thank you for the passive speed boost. It is a godsend. That in and of itself will convince me to play my Chronomancer more.
I am very excited for the specs in Heart of Thorns, and the beta didn’t change my mind on any of them. I loved them all, and I still intend to take them. I hope that ANet sees these suggestions and takes some time to think about them, but I didn’t see anything that makes me say “I refuse this spec” or “it was a useless addition to the game.” Well done, ANet, and I apologize (only slightly) for the essay. I hope this helps!
I would like to add that Reaper Greatsword 5 would randomly go in wrong direction instead of at the targeted enemy (WvW/sPvP)
The problem I am having with the Greatsword is the speed of skills… It would be much more usable with a decrease of 1/4th second from cast times. The Shouts also feel clunky to me… When you use a shout the character Shouts it, but the effect does not happen until afterwards… Finally, the Shout heal, while it is great in concept, the heal is very very poor… Especially if no targets are hit and you get 0% life force from it. Default the heal to 4.5k health and Life force if targets hit, or keep health as is and give AT LEAST 10% life force with no targets and an additional % for each enemy hit. Suggestions?
Ok, the Kodash guy was not the hacker, but at 2:10 into the video there is a hacker in the tower. Using the invisibility/invulnerable hack. Then the lord revives the downed Kodash guy who uses SR on the guards and his self and when you went to solo the lord he killed you. You then mistake the original player for the hacker and that should clear up your confusion. Sooo the hacker is actually a 3rd person there. Also on a side note, you used a Supply Removal trap not a stealth trap. Have a great day.
P.S> Email exploits@arena.net a link to the video, time stamped at 2:10 with a date/time/server information/location. The more info you give them the easier they can track down the log files for this time and see who killed the Kodash player in the tower while invisible.
Best of Luck!
I’ve hit some of these compiled issues (like the 150 pet stats, some offhand range items and some pet traits not working while downed) and those should be getting addressed soon-ish.
We are working heavily on HoT and trying to get to these issues whenever time allows.
People want a working class / bug fixes before they will buy an expansion though, that I believe is a problem…
I tried it, seems to be working properly. If this is something you are continually seeing please submit screenshots of the issue occurring so we can better determine what is going on.
Speculation is that he used the waypoint and that may account for the loss silver/coppers
I would like to suggest that Ele and Engi get a OOC weapon swap ability.
Add a 2nd weapon slot like any other class.
Note this function should be disabled in PVP.
This feature is merely for convenience, and in no way should this change how the Ele or engi work in combat.
I would love some constructive thoughts on the topic. All suggestions are welcome.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Perm-bans-for-snowflake-exploit-kinda-harsh
I’ll leave this here…
I very much doubt there will be bans with the Golem exploit, simply because it only ruins the fun of the game and not the economy of the game. That is, there isn’t a long lasting effect on the game when people use this exploit the way there was with the snowflake mass ban. But I could be wrong. The thing is it is at their sole discretion. I sure wouldn’t be taking chances with it and I don’t believe anyone who values their account should take part in this exploit.
This effected the economy, golem buff does not.
Yea… this is not high on their priority list where it probably consists of changing a 10 to a 0.
Elementalists is already the strongest dps class in the game, the one with the highest mobility and the only one that can spam 37 skills in a row without waiting for any cd.
And you want to equip 55 weaponskills? Lol. never happy.
Most of the classes have 10 weaponskills (including Revenant). And don’t give me “not all of them are useful”, because that can be applied to any set of weaponskills (Revenant has many objectively useless weaponskills and utility skills that you can’t even change, because Revenant is the only class that can’t change utility skills)
LOL Highest dps? Highest mobility?? 37 skills no CD? Please go play an elementalist before posting such dribble… A mesmer, engi, guard, warrior, thief, ranger, necro can all do more damage. All but the Necro can run away too… Also, their is cast times, and cooldowns on attunements as well… If you do not play the class, do not post.
Welp, looks like we’re getting the warhorn after all. I was rooting for the sword personally.
That Offhand looks like a Pearl Carver Dagger… Lol Ele’s hold the off-hand dagger upside down like that too… but I am guessing you are correct.
When will Elementalist get weapon swap? At 10:20 in POI video, Roy says they gave Revenant weapon swap because they didn’t feel it was right to be locked into either range or melee… Well, that is exactly what Elementalist deal with … Where is the weapon swap for them after 3 years of dealing with this issue? (Do not say Engineer—they have ranged / melee through kits) ALSO, do NOT mention Conjures as they have charges / limits of uses. If you want Conjures to be the answer, make Conjures like kits.
Don’t get me wrong, i think this shiro legend is awesome probably my favortie so far, but does this mean they will start releasing elite specs again, or will we have another long fuggin break.
Its been a month since the last elite spec, but it feels like it was this long….
Actually it has been 2 1/2 months.
hey guys,
my name is Emanuel i’am 15 years old and i wanted to show you guys my first WvW montage. I know i play a rampage build and some ppl think it’s lame. But i startet playing GW2 after 100+ days AFK login in for the daily reward again, and this is my first day in WvW again.
Hope you like it
It is a great start, but here are some pointers for future videos. Music was great, however, the screen shaking / flashing is hard to watch and I made it through half the video before I gave up. Less screen shaking effects so players can enjoy the video is a great way to start.
Besides the screen shaking, good job.
Can anyone tell me the point in Light, Medium, Heavy Armor, if its balanced……lol
Can you tell me why the classes that wear lighter armor run slower than those with heavy?
Can you tell me why a warrior wearing full heavy armor can swing a huge 2 handed weapon faster than someone using a dagger?
Can you tell me why having over 3k armor means nothing in this game? (Not counting conditions).
Things are not balanced, period.
So… you want to see no nameplates what so ever on all enemy players? Teamwork and tactics, LOLOL. Who are you kidding? Removing of nameplates from enemies wouldn’t create the need for more tactics or anything like that. It would just create a huge annoyance. All you would see would be random player models running around without being able to tell who the hell they are. It would only promote confusion and I am sure it would in fact discourage people from doing WvW. I am grateful people like you are not in charge of game design. If this game was only about “wouldn’t it be cool” ideas, no one would want to play it.
Actually you would know it is an enemy because there would be no nameplate, whereas friendlies would have nameplates. The purpose of the changes would be to promote better gameplay. @Natir.7364, See below for an idea to better recognize enemies as well.
@Paavotar.3971 This can be easily remedied, while we all enjoy the looks of our characters and teammates, they could implement the same as they did with sPvP where all enemies models are human and the color of their team. This would help with identifying enemies and with performance. This would also help with the animation issue of asurans.
Dear Anet,
I have played many games over the years, and I quite enjoy the WvWvW / RvRvR aspect… However, there is so much more that could enhance WvW… Here are a few things I would like both the Developers and the Playerbase to think about and consider…
::: NOTE ::: These are my thoughts and suggestions for WvW, with the upcoming changes to WvW with HoT, these changes would make for a more enhanced WvW.
1) and my most important/wanted suggestion) In WvW why can we players see an enemies name/title? Why must my enemies see a large red line of text for example, Henge of Denravi Bronze General [BfDA]… This “ability” to see enemy players names is very bad for the game… You give players all this beautifully created terrain which is great for ambushes / hiding, with one exception… You can see players around corners BECAUSE of the big red name! This needs to go… By hiding enemies names in WvW you bring tactics to a whole new level… This change would require the culling settings to be altered, only cull friendly players as their names can still be seen while all enemies will be visible (even if it is low models).
2) This follows up from #1. By hiding enemy names you now have a need for havoc squads and scout groups. This promotes teamwork and even “military-like” tactics. This would give smaller groups who spot larger zergs an advantage. To “see and not be seen” would allow the players to effectively cause havoc on larger zergs. Trenches / Valleys like those around some of the EBG towers / keeps and even in borderlands now become points of strategy controlled warfare… (For example: A group of enemies spot a lone player running, the small group decides to chase the enemy into a valley/gorge… However, the player running to the gorge actually has teammates hiding in the crevices/outcroppings naturally provided by the Environment team and they are not seen because there is no giant red label sticking through the walls…) The previous example could work on many levels as it is guerrilla tactics… Players would have to think before chasing an enemy.
3) Going off of point #2. Mesmers… Although I despise the class, this would make the role of “hiding and porting” easier and harder at the same time. It would actually require players to check cracks and crevices for enemies instead of looking for the enemies name tags sticking out.
4) how to get more players into WvW) The thought of fighting for your worlds land needs to be more profitable… Loot in (Lower) tiers for WvW is very scarce, bring loot up to par with that of sPvP and give players the ability to earn PvE (dungeon) rewards for WvW. Having unsalvageable armor is a horrible thing. Change WvW armor to allow salvaging but only return the upgrade items. This will make many WvW players ecstatic knowing that they will be able to get their runes back… Paying 8g and badges for gear is a great concept, but no one wants to put 100g worth of runes in this armor knowing they can never get them back. People will even buy Black Lion Salvage kits for this… (ALTERNATIVE) Make a WvW Armor Upgrade Extractor 6 Charges for 100 gems or something. You make money and players are happy that they can convert gold into gems and get their upgrades back, or they will buy gems and get it back. The current upgrade extractor costs more than 95% (speculation, #’s based on observations not actual values) of runes/sigils.
Thanks,
Otaur

If it’s Anets problem, everyone would have lagged out/DC’d.
Get a hoover in your PC, make sure it’s running as cool as possible, did this the other day myself and my temps dropped under heavy load.
By hoover I hope you don’t mean vacuum… That would be very bad for your PC…
Maybe I don’t understand what you’re saying but you could always put away blueprints by using the #2 key.
it is currently disabled due to a bug introduced with revenant.
Well, I used tomes and dungeons to get an alt char to 80 and I’m not seeing any Hero Points when I go to the tab.
Hmm, you should have enough Hero Points to unlock everything except the new incoming expansion specializations… If you are seeing no hero points, make a support ticket ASAP.
@OP, the reason why support roles fail to get attention in Guild Wars 2 is not because people do not enjoy being support, it is because without the DPS from zerk/soldier/power/crit damage in general, you get NO LOOT… Therefore, support roles = no loot. If players earned rewards for buffing / healing their fellow players, then there would be a lot more Support players running around. This has been an issue since Beta when the whole, “Play Your Way” was announced. It quickly became, “You can Play Your Way as Support, but Do NOT expect to get Loot”. If they find a way to include Amount of Health Healed During X Event, then MAYBE people will support again.
Guy got a Dawn on revenant, poor guy…

:( not happy lol
This is my worry too… I want to play one to test it, but not being able to keep DROPPED loot is concerning. All forged stuff should be deleted however.
Was fighting an engineer in WvW last night with the new Staff Marks trait to make them Unblockable and the Engineers tool kit #4 (block) was blocking all marks. So Unblockable ability from the new trait is Bugged.
@Wexxes, not downscaling—WvW player only.
@Dawdler—I usually run staff, but I have been trying dagger and axe as well, I will test again and make sure staff is the main one equipped… But even with axe i have 3k+ power, so the DPS should not be 1.6k – 2k with crits and they are all crits. Axe 2 I can do 8-10k easily…
