I would have to say probably that one asura in LA who says something about selling some lame item for 20 gold “when it was only worth 10 gold the day before”. That scamp must be mega mega rich.
It’s not a personal story – it’s a tribute to the glory of the walking salad – he who also has zero emotion.
What they REALLY need to do is give us the ability to just turn off the reminder for this.
I see people saying things similar to this all the time. One thing I think these people forget to remember is that the said walking salad is not present at or involved at all in the final fight with Zaitan.
Ok I admit that when I did the last quest (8 times now on all 8 classes) when killing said dragon I not once saw MY personal story or character due to the fact another player was always in the cutscene (this is unforgivable!). But still, that aside it did all tied together seem like my personal story for the most part and not said walking salad.
Having said all that I do have something negative to say about said walking salad. Please will you STOP taking 2 steps forward and then one step back when moving in those stories. Unforgivable!
If you just want to get rid of those green arrows and that quest info in the top of the corner I would suggest doing what I did on each of my alts. Wait until you are level 80 with good gear (actually gear does not matter) and just hit all the quests at once. It will take 2-3 days max (depending on how easily bored you get). You should have most of the world unlocked if you do map clears and at that level you will breeze through it all without any problems.
Also if the dialogue is really that bad you can use that magical “skip” button, 
I agree with the OP. Damage is too high across the board and has been forever.
If anything we attack far too fast. Multiply that by a lot of enemies attacking fast = maybe too much damage. Go fight any random mob in PVE, you will see that they attack far, far slower than we do.
yup thats right a Global nerf is what he game needs currently Direct and Condition damage as way off the charts to the point players can have 3000+ armor and will get downed just as fast as if they ran 1900 armor wich is why everyone simply runs offensive stuff since defensive stats are near meaningless
perhaps Ferocity is a step in the right direction as that way they could actually scale the stat since its not a fixed percent value

The above quote is true in some cases but they are few. Also you have to look at the why and how these players are getting downed just as quickly. I main an engi who has 3200 Armour when using a flamethrower and I can tell you the ways I get downed as quickly as lower armoured people.
1 – Condition damage – a lot of it and not removing any of it.
2 – Running into a room/area full of mobs thinking I am invincible and taking all agro by Aoe-ing too many at a time.
3 – Not dodging/avoiding that boss’s (or environment traps etc) special/powerful attack when I am supposed to.
Now let’s have a look at these 3 ways that I see I take fast damage that downs me. In case number one this is SUPPOSED to be high armoured players weakness. You NEED to build to remove condition as well as have a lot of healing options with regens being highly recommended.
In case number 2 this is perfectly fine and is the players fault. Having high armour in this game is not meant to make you invincible or what other games would call a tank. It is meant to make you a little bit more survivable so that you can take a fair few extra hits from a single mob/boss. Anytime you fight a group of mobs or are taking the majority of their attacks (especially ranged attacks which can add the damage up fast from a lot of sources) you are and SHOULD be at risk of being downed fast. Learn to pullback when you have to and to drop some of that aggro, perhaps not to aoe so many or to single out targets instead.
3 – Everyone SHOULD have to avoid mob’s/bosses special attacks. Again being a survival build should not make you invincible to bosses powerful attacks, you should still have to avoid their circles or other tells. In general as my main I do notice I can usually take an extra hit or 2 from a mob’s/bosses powerful attack and that can be all the difference in the world from being insta-downed and getting my health back up as well as other players back on their feet.
I think the system right now in most cases is fine. People just need to be aware of what having high armour is meant to mean. Also while partying in groups they need/should be aware of how many other players are running survival builds so they can play with that info to plan for things better if things do go sour.
Lastly I would like to say if you are meaning mainly PvP my case number 2 applies. I play a fair bit of both WvW and sPvP and I run my survival build in both places. Everything I said above also applies there from my experiances and what I see.

Lately, forums are full of the same subject (crit changes), and the same arguments all over again, and people saying they quit because a lot of time has been wasted getting gear
Just stop that, we know the problem already. Stop saying your gear is now broken, and that won’t stop people from using zerker. They should fix combat/apply trinity, but well, dungeon subforums is full of good suggestions to improve dungeons and nothing has been done. Don’t get your hopes too high
Can’t see this happening (what I bolded), also many, many, many people could be well inclined to tell you and others who always ask for the Trinity back to also stop posting about it.

TBH it takes a LOT more work to buff all the other builds, gears etc than it does to nerf something clearly far too overpowered. Apart from that 10% is not really that much, you will still be 2-3 hitting most mobs, you wont see ANY effect/difference on bosses.
When will they add Charisma then and what will it do? Maybe they’ll add a Love condition.
Hahaha my Mesmer has “unpredictable” or some such for an almost perfect average of all 3 lines. Now that could be a fun combat stat, perhaps hit himself or his allies, walking off muttering something silly about rabbits or who knows what!?

Honestly – the biggest issue with the presentation was putting people who are unused to public speaking address the public. You don’t have your techie answering the phones. orr filing your taxes. You also shouldn’t have your development or balance team address the public, even if it is about balance. You get the people actually trained to do so to do so.
Then you have people that usually only know half of what they are talking about and get comments like “I think” or “I need to ask so and so to be totally sure about that”. I know which I would prefer to see. That being people who are making the changes and know what they are talking about doing the talking. It don’t need to be pretty talk, just informative…..

Look at it this way, in WvW you use gear and skills from what you can and should earn in PvE. The same goes for all of your enemies as well. So it is not what Anet regards as PvP simply because what they consider PvP is pretty much a near perfect “balanced” system being that everyone has access to all the exact same skills/gear right from the start.
It could be that they are testing things behind the scenes too for upcoming updates which may be slowing things down, you never know.
I thought the developers at today’s live stream could have been more professional. I am glad they enjoy what they do but at the same time. There representing a company that people pay money to. A bit more professionalism would go a long way in the future.
They need a example of how to have fun while staying professional take a look a blizzcon live forum panels. The developers have fun while giving off a attitude of professionalism.
I find these comments funny “There representing a company that people pay money to.” Okay lets dissect that statement. How do we pay them money? 1 By the initial cost of the game. 2 From gem purchases and the items we buy from those gems. Now think about that second point. Have you noticed some of the things they sell us for these gems? Hello, quaggin backpacks anyone? Are they not a bit of light hearted silly entertainment type items? Surely those kinds of ideas would come from super serious professional people right? Oops wait I mean light hearted silly people of course. :P
So yeah if you look at things like this and how the game itself even plays I really don’t know how surprised some of you people could be? The game has not once, ever, really seemed like a serious game to me…
It isnt a one or the other situation. Poor presentation of even well-thought out ideas is very disappointing. Hateful and ridiculous community chat comments are even more disappointing.
The situation was one more fitting of an uploaded youtube video rather than an actual company profiting off consumers.
TBH I think “some” people need to relax a bit, maybe they will live longer too. 
Hmmmmm interesting. Maybe this is what they were eluding to (something other big coming to the game that will effect things), our personalities effecting our combat skills/stats!? Now that would be cool, easy to change them too if and when we want to.
I have seen it now and don’t think it was too bad. But hey at least you guys are moaning about the way they were acting and not the content coming into the game, that must be a good sign surely!

Yes, before anyone complains about how the devs spoke, they’d better not be one of the ones making hateful physical assessments of the men in the stream. And hateful mental ones as well. I don’t know how the one guy who had to read the chat and post comments in it managed to type constructively. You want professional, I’ll say that was super professional because he said useful things as if the vomiting bile text wasn’t even there.

Recently I have been getting “gathering lag”. That is you press F to gather from a node and nothing happens. Sometimes you have to wait a few mins for the action to go through, other times swinging your weapon fixes it.
Anyone else had this?
This needs to be fixed. Just make them dye-able period.
Hairstyles are limited for me for this very reason :/
If they did we would then have people demanding things like streaks etc, probably work anet would rather not do right now. But I agree, more options would be nice.
I dislike the sound that waypoints make. If I use one to get anywhere I have to get away from it fast – VERY FAST.
Maybe if Thief wasn’t the only class without cooldown’s on their skills and we ALL could spam any of our skills the problem wouldn’t be so much of a problem with them? Something to think about eh?
No descent thieves spam skills. Those who do gets destroyed in seconds. Surrendering to HS spam or w/e skill u like to spam (there are only 2 skills w/o long cast time one actually might try to spam imagining that it will accomplish something besides burning out initiative is infamous Heartseeker and Death Blossom) will accomplish nothing but get you killed or waste an utility to gtfo and restore initiative so you can just spam it again with no results. So no, nothing to think about.
Oh I’m sure many thieves spam skills (how else do you explain perma stealth?). Either or, that does not change what I said last posting, – if other classes also had the OPTION to spam weapons skills maybe they can deal with thieves easier?
Do you even know the exact procedure how to access and maintain perma stealth, what weapons and traits, utilities u have to use to achieve that? Or you just claim that because all the cool kids do?
I do have a thief, which is traited for long stealths. But I don’t use the dagger weapons very often and I’m sure the main part of it comes from spamming that one skill every second attack or so. There is no utility that can keep you perma stealthed. I guess this is not true perma stealth but it’s pretty well dang close enough.
Again I think a big part of the problem that people find with thieves is that they CAN spam certain skills (this one being the one that stealthes when used) and again I say perhaps if others can also spam weapon skills they could deal with them easier. (I know my flamethrower skill 5 would easily deal with them for example :P)

I’m pretty sure you get a free kit from an AP chest out there somewhere. I have had 2 so far and never bought one. I know one of them came from a BLTC chest tho however.
Edit – Doh, Ignavia.7420 beat me. 
I main an engi and have just bought a new mouse with extra buttons on it and have set them for my kits (utility skills). Now when I jump on say my ranger who has all signets set for those mouse buttons I find they are easily tapped and I use a signet when I really don’t want to. Soooooo this idea would be great and I support it too. 
Meh just set “c” as autoloot and hit it after every kill and you will be fine, works perfectly fine for me.

I think the problem is the whole point system, get rid of it. I don’t know how they could adjust or fix it but it is the problem. From what I mostly see in WvW anyways it’s nothing but a farming train. It’s not that often you have people caring about holding stuff rather than joining the zerg to rack up that silver/karma from taking stuff.
I have seen times when we have had a tower or keep fully upgraded and we have held it for a good number of hours by hard work. Then some noob commander comes in advertising his “karma train” and when told about an enemy zerg assaulting said tower/keep the reply is something like: “let them take it, more cash/points for us taking back”. This is PART of the problem right here. Not enough incentive/reward for holding stuff rather than taking. And yes this happens a lot at what would be called “night capping hours” my server time.
Point/reward system needs a major overhaul.

Nice, nice keep at it you’ll get it! Well you and me both, I have 7 at 100% and just my necro to complete 1 small section of EB and the green full map. We will get there! 
The colours are assigned randomly. Just wait until Blackgate is given the colour that you need.
Actually from what I have heard or read I think it goes by the ranking of the servers. Green is the highest of the 3 I believe, I have been waiting for green for over a month now for my server for my last guy to have world complete. 
But yeah in the end it just comes down to waiting, waiting, waiting.
Server names. You can’t guest to them to play on their teams in WVW. WvW is strictly limited to your world/server only. You will have to wait until your team is the team colour of the map you need or until your side takes those towers/whatever you need.
You can’t guest for WvW. It’s kind of random who your enemy teams are and yes it sucks we have to wait to be a certain team colour to be able to complete world maps.
We just have to play the waiting game I am sorry to say.
I would rather have them slow down a bit on the releases, work on letting some more of it be permanent, and less “repeat X for achievements”.
Tower of Nightmares and its assorted trilogy was actually best form of that for me.
Well tbh I’m finding myself playing less now, maybe that’s due to the fact I have world complete on all chars now. But still need variety in ways to play the game and variety in content is not a bad thing. Sure I agree just adding new story elements over and over where 99% of said content is gone a week later to me seems like a waste too.
I don’t think it’s a matter of them not having enough people or time to create more perm/quality content. Maybe it’s just ideas they need or to take bigger risks?
2 weeks seem fine as long as they are mostly more and more content that is perm and not too easily forgettable, in fact it should ALL be very memorable and have meaning. Not just “oh here’s some more ways for you to gain some easy AP, go run around in circles checking off this list”
Even small little things added here and there perm would be a good thing. An example could be adding new mobs in old maps. Give us some variety here and there, I am sure MANY people are sick of seeing the same old mobs in pretty much every map just with different levels and skills. I mean who is not sick of wolves, spiders and such featuring in pretty much every map by now? One new mob here and there with new combat mechanics would be very welcome. Heck even just rework some of the old ones as well. Seriously, do ALL spiders have to spam poison/cripple for example?

Account. What they meant when they said every char gets it in their home instance is just that you can go to any of the home instances to get the ores once per day. But still only ONCE, so you can’t do a round trip gathering in each or on each char.
Actually coming to think of it maybe I was the one person who guessed correctly when I said Scarlett was due to marry Trahearne so that they can have kids to annoy us as much as they do for many, many, many years to come.

Maybe they wont need to get kids, no one knows how old sylvari can get or if they even really age. Trahearne could be around for a long long long long long time still. (Unlike most I don’t hate Trahearne, I actually sorta like him.)I doubt anyone (Trahearne or Rox and Braham or anyone else on our side) will ally with Scarlet… Scarlet wont suddenly be reformed and rehabilitated and become a good citizen. I hope we get to kill her, end her schemes and make her never come back. At least not untill undead sylvari happens.
Oh yeah my bad I forgot they can’t reproduce in the traditional sense (poor folk). As for Trahearne I didn’t mind him either until about my 3rd alt (done all 8 classes right through personal story now). Do 3+ chars and he gets on your nerves lol. But then again I guess it’s just basic NPC ai that’s more annoying than anything. Walk 2 steps forward run 1 back wth is up with that anyways!?

I guess making them Rich ores would be a step in the right direction, but even then…..I mean even if you are a jeweller (like my ranger is) it’s not very long you use Silver/Gold anyways. Maybe a Quartz node would have been a better option?

It is silly. However there are some people who only play one race and are vested in that race. So to not include a race is to exclude that player. It has more to do with inclusivity than anything else.
There are people in this game who play and like nothing but Asura or nothing but Norn. Shrugs.
I need the names of those who play only asura, for a . . . yes, a science project. I’m testing this improvement on the Superior Trebuchet and need . . . assistants.

I agree that this item seems very little for the 800 gem price, I mean if you REALLY need these ores it’s not hard to go to any map that features them and spend 10 mins finding one of each rock. I really don’t see any other reason, of course the market will drop some small amount with people buying them for that reason….which is just plain silly again considering on average you will only get 3 of each ore per day.
Like Henri Blanche.8276 said even if this featured Ori/Ancient wood I wouldn’t consider it a value buy. But like you say if you like to buy gems JUST to help support the game I can understand that but surely even some silly cosmetic town clothing or fun item would seem like a better buy to me.

I kind of agree. I mean if you play around in PVE for any great length of time and fight any NPC that uses any ranged weapons you can see that they fire far too fast. Get them in a group and you can be downed and dead VERY fast. Of course for PvP you just multiply this by a lot more because you are playing vs people who do the best they can to hit higher numbers on you.
But then again I think they have combat so fast here to keep us on the edge of our seats and to make us forget that there is little to no strategy to it all and it comes down to basic skills such as dodging, moving out of the way etc.
So I’m kind of on the fence…

“Hard” and “RNG” or “getting lucky” are two different things imo….
Mhmmm I personally tired of necro rather fast. It doesn’t look extremely cool, doesn’t have a lot of viable weapons (only staff really) and most utilities are a bit lame. Elementalist has a huge range of skills for weapons, due to having 4 attunements, which makes playing them a lot more fun, because it has so many shiny effects and so much variation. I prefer dagger/dagger, but I guess staff has it’s pros too.

My berserker PVE Necro wants to have a word with you! Lol the utilities are awesome, just use wells (healing as well) and have the trait where they siphon HP from the enemy and you smack them down fast. Axe works well for groups too surprisingly.
Ele is just spam skill 2 while avoiding getting hit, too much effort! :P
