Honestly dunno, probably Abjured because They have the right mix lan experience/strength

TCG has an amazing team comp and very good players but for many of them it’s the first time in a gw2 lan event and this could be a factor.

Orng great experience but i think They have some composition issue, especially for Rom role.

Pretty curious to see ROM in action and his performance.

Yes. Only solo though. No duo.

I think duo it would be better because you can join with a Friend (and in the old soloqueue there was sync issues) and there could be a more quality game than a pure soloqueue without having too much advantages with voice tool like with a 3+ teams.

It’s a really good compromise imho for a more “relax” and fun queue without leaderboard.

How yon can see thief got full stealth tick in shadow refuge (in vampirism), he didn’t go out of shodow refuge and after 2 sec. shadow refuge ended he got reveal without hitting.

I dunno if haste is responsable but it’s weird for sure

Burning is historically too strong in GW2.

Anet decreased every condi formula but you couldn’t stack burning before and the lower burning value we have now is not enough to balance the fact burning now stacks.

That’s all, for this reason burning requires a different formula like i said.

And btw Anet knows about this issue, they said this in an official topic (things we know).

I only hope they don’t need too much time to fix it.

Burning doesn’t need a damage nerf so much as it does an adjustment.

Yes, Burning could probably stand to lose 8-15% of it’s overall damage – I mean, it’s triple the damage of most other conditions in most scenarios, and that’s just silly. But more than anything, burning shouldn’t be doing “burst” damage.

Condi classes only need 1 stat from their amulet to do optimal damage. That’s supposed to be balanced against the fact that condition damage is intended to be of the “attrition” variety rather than the “burst” variety. Currently, burning can do excellent burst damage under the right circumstances, and that’s just silly.

Cut burning damage significantly (so it’d only 2.0 – 2.2 times other conditions, roughly), and extend the duration accordingly so that burning only loses between 0 and 15% of it’s overall damage (whatever playtesting (playtesting, lawl) proves fair), and then burning will probably be a fair condition.

15% is too low and the formula has a base damage and a condi damage modifier, the damage with 0 condi damage should be really low, not so high like now. In a old topic about burning I analyzed the fact the actual formula is just wrong.

The base damage is too high, it means with power build with 0 condi damage with multiple stacks is not a DoT anymore but a burst damage (like u said). With high condi damage a single stack is really like 1 hit of an high damage power skill.

Formula should be something like

(0.160 * Condition Damage) + 55 (at level 80), so 1 stack with 1000 condi damage should be 215 (now is 286.5 ) and with 0 condi damage 55 (now is 131.5). It’s a reduction of 25% on 1000 condi damage and a more higher reduction if you have 0 condi damage (there is no really sense burning does so high damage with 0 condi damage).

A little better scale with condi damage but low damage with 0 condi damage. Ofc you can adjust a bit more the duration but 4 burning stacks wiht 1000 condi damage it would be always 860 dmg/s and it’s very good. (Not like 1.1k+ we have now, with no sense values with 0 condi damage)

Oh dear, sigh…

Some of you, not all, suffer from tunnel vision…..Always seeing things in a 1v1 situation.

I did imply that it was wishful thinking for the necro to ever dominate the light armor. It will never happen.

3 things could occur when a team fight takes place on point:

1. you live and cap
2. you die and lose cap
3. you disengage and go help another point

Necros lack that 3rd ability. And in a capture game mode, that is incredibly debilitating.

However, if necros do get that ability, they will be OP beyond belief. IMO, I don’t think that will ever happen, thus my wishful thinking.

I main an ele. Always will.

3) is the reason because Necros are tanky as hell and they have 2 lives (and the DS value right now is always really high)

If you want an easy disengage you need to lose a lot of your “tankiness”.

You can already buy legendary weapons with real money, but the cost is like 200+ €.

The effort to make a legendary in game is big, or you’re on top10 pvp players (or better, you need to join one of the two best teams) or you need to invest much time in PVE (or ingame tasks) to make a legendary weapon.

I found a little weird in the last patch anet didn’t touch ele and burning (and it’s true there are A LOT of topics about)

And honestly it’s a little sad they are going to show a really interesting WTS with the ele and burning in this status.

Anyone noticed this?

Sometimes i got reveal in SR without any reason. Didn’t use steal skill (like engi stolen skill) it’s not lock on engi and they aren’t reveal skills.

it starts to be really annoying.

Other my thief friends have the same issue, so it’s not only a my fantasy.

Even if they made the Vigor on Feline Grace to have 300s duration with no ICD, Feline Grace would still remain a totally lackluster trait compared to what it was before, and to what it SHOULD be now that everything got buffed.

Tbh, i think thief weapon sets in general need to be reworked so all of them have 5 useful spells and not just d/p. That way they don’t need to heavily rely on one trait to be viable.

Honestly the old s/d style was really brainless with a huge quantity of dodge.

For example I’d put on evade skill on 3th autoattack sword chain (basically like ranger GS), or an endurance gain like 2th dagger chain (always on sword).

This gives to S/d different sources to gain endurance (besides vigor) and promote a more interesting gameplay insead of gaining endurance with a passive trait

It’s only an example but i think the right way to make s/d viable again and promote a better gameplay is giving to him an ACTIVE alterantive source to resore endurance, not passive like the old feline grace.

Rampage probably is good now, always great damage but less duration and more cd, so probably it’s fine.

as much as i can’t stand mesmers atm i don’t think those suggestions are good
what needs to happen is:
- shatter blind shouldn’t go through evades/dodge
- confounding suggestions should only stun when you actually interrupt something and should have decent ICD
- possibly move CS to other trait line so it has to compete with other good traits so mesmers can’t have all good things in 1
- mantras shouldn’t recharge in background as fast (arguably)
- passive phantasm 15% buff needs to be a trait again
- PU may need some adjustments in numbers

I agree, i’d put PU on 33% stealth (instead of a 100%), basically 1 sec. more on a 3sec. Stealth skill, same like thief if he goes for sa.

And i’d revert the old cd on portal.

Cs is ok In domination but it needs icd and only stun on interrupt.

If you think about it Anet is doing a similar design with the Team Leaderboard

3+ People with the same TAG will compete for the Guild leaderboard (and they will have an unique MMR in queue).

I think is possible to extend this design to every roster size, it’s ok a TAG leaderboard but i think it would be possible to monitor individual performance for each roster size.

In every case, i think it would be an awesome stat to know.

I was thinking about it and i dunno if it’s possible but imho it would be great for this game and in general for the pvp side.

Instead of adding multiple game modes for 1/2/3/4 people (not full team) with problematic consequences (community split too much and balance issues), what about monitoring partial premade performance in the leaderboard?

A design like this

2 game modes

Stronghold 1 ranked leadeboard
Conquest 1 ranked leaderboard

A general leaderboard (like now) where there is everything. Doesn’t matter if you go solo, full premade etc we are all in the same leaderboard (like now)

but at the same time

There is a solo queue leaderboard – duoqueue lb – trio queue- 4 men lb for stronghold and conquest (or it could be a filter)

If i go solo my data is recorded in soloqueue lb and general lb if i go duo my data is recorded in duo lb and general lb etc.

What are the advantages?

1) you can compare your performance with other similar roster size players performance and you could rewarded for this
2) you don’t split the community. Queue is always the same. Better time queue
3) People is more incentivated to go in queue if they haven’t a full team.
4) Premade issue is more smooth. I mean if for example soloqueue people lose from premade grp 3+ they can always evalute their performance in the soloqueue leaderboard and compete for soloqueue leaderboard.
5) Chance to win something or placing in higher spot in the lb if you don’t have a full team or you’re solo.
6) Great chance to know new players with similar skill level and create more bigger team.
7) More Competition. More incentive to play. More people. Better for Matchmaking. More stats

What are your thougths?

So I Know there are a lot of topics about Mesmer OP, CS OP, PU op etc. but i want to discuss with you how bad was the idea to buff portal and at the same time buff the Mesmer in every aspects.

Historically Portal was always a super strong ability for Mesmer, for the entire team, i remember when it was to 60s and Anet nerfed CD to 90s (and it was a right move).

I remember what Phantaram said about portal and Mesmer and i agree with him, with portal so strong for the entire team, you can’t create a Mesmer beast or the balance goes to the hell.

And what we have now? A Mesmer with more damage/sustain/stealth buffed AND portal buffed (with a lower CD).

In these days it happens many team in queue you play against double Mesmer and when you find 2 double (good) Mesmers with 2 double portals the situation is really bad for you team if you can’t balance it with a similar composition.

What your thoughts about?

but it was ok when Mesmers could provide portal but food for thieves pre-patch right?

So a profession has only 1 counter and could deal with everything else and the solution is overbuffed it and create a beast with destroys everything?

A little buff was required but this is a huge buff in every aspect.

It wasn’t necessary to buff everything, Mesmer had already a huge damage.

Like a Mesmer you’re a roamer and your role is basically the same of a thief (+ portal). You have an insane stealth opening with huge burst that is really too much strong in Teamfight scenario with a PU mesmer.

Condi removals are not necessary when you can go in stealth for so long and keeping a position really far to the combat because you have a GS who makes super damage from distance. Don’t forget invulnerability and blind.

Helseth will use PU version, Frostball the same, and every other Mesmer with brain will use PU mesmer shatter until nerf.

When Anet will nerf PU they will swith to powerblock build who is insane in different ways but always insane for Confounding suggestion and they have huge sustain with Inspiration line.

In a short way, both of these 2 builds have a broken balance damage/sustain (disengage)

Prismatic Understanding is garbage in conquest. People crying for Prismatic Understanding nerfs need to stop getting farmed by hot-join superstars and queue up. Mantra Shatter beats any Prismatic Understanding build any day of the week, and maybe has 1 stealth ability (Mass Invisibility if you’re not slotting Signet of Humility to counter transforms).

That said, yes Blinding Dissipation needs to stop going through evades, and yes Confounding Suggestions should only inflict stun on interrupt.

Did you realize every ESL/WTS Mesmer is using PU right?

You know, staying 1 hour in stealth has some good advantage against everything.

Honestly i think you’re too much optimistic they can fix this stuff immediately after WTS.

It would be a miracle.

The list is pretty long, Mesmer has multiple op traits (PU and Confounding suggestions most of all), elementalist the same, Burning and Rampage is easier to fix.

But mesmer and elementalist require an heavy large fix to keep them in line with other professions right now.

I’m playing Mesmer PU Shatter these days and honestly it’s really an embarrassing build. Stealth opening + burst combo is almost oneshot for marauder professions, it’s not a single skill like Grenadier but a simple shatter combo everyone can do.

But the concept is the same, burst people for 15k+ from stealth is really too much, and besides this, the profession (and build) is really amazing, super mobility (with portal), incredible chance to disengage (with a super long stealth) and survive (blind, invulnerability, interrupt, teleport and stealth ofc) , A TON of damage, honestly is really too much for a single build.

Why Ranger isn't getting buffs

Honestly ranger got many buff (taunt for example carries an entire line and it’s really strong), the power version is really good and che condi version is really solid. But it’s outplayed now in every role, totally from Mesmer, like roamer, in a tournament environment and thief has always more stealth and more mobility. Elementalist is the unreachable point holder in the actutal state, too strong.

I agree on general mechanics, i always think to create a better ranger gameplay the key is always the pet and having a better control on every pet skills would mean a huge impact on skill floor.

But for now, main problem are other professions (especially Ele and Mesmer) not ranger itself.

The power creep in this game is really too high right now, it’s better to lower op classes instead of buffing everything else.

The only reason because thief is on meta is because is used like “Mesmer boost” to give him more aoe stealth and use him to force the other enemy mesmer to use more Cd lol.

Basically Mesmer is better in everything, don’t forget how strong is portal in a spvp match and now has a lower CD.

Thief has really only stealth and mobility now, other stuff is crap. And you need to be really a good thief to not create a big damage to your team.

Decent Spot:
Guardian. The bunker guard has returned to glory.
Warrior – If Ramage is nerfed, they will fall into the below average category
Necro- The best place that it has been in PvP in a year.
Engi. – Lower than the other 3 in this category but ok. Nothing special. Just a barely average class.

Harder to rank:
Ranger: You don’t see them played much at higher levels, but their condi aids spec is really really good right now. Most of the players just haven’t moved on from power ranger yet though.

Thief: This is the hardest for me to rank. The class seems great with a top 10 thief, but otherwise, it is a liability to the team. In most PUG matches, the team with the most thieves loses.

Shadow shot is fine has 4cd initiative cost and only the projectile part is unblockable.

Blinding ashes has too low cd

Blinding Dissipation needs to be fixed the undodgable thing and it requires a little icd.

In general blind mechanic is fine as it is.

There is more power creep than the last meta, Shout warrior is out but is easily replaced by a double op ele. Engi switched from celestial to soldier for a more bunker role and to take advantage from Elisir X – Rampage.

Maybe it could be a fine meta but we need to tone down the Elementalist power, mesmer and condi damage formulas or stacks (especially burning) need to be also toned dow.

I think we all agree the actual score system is more fon a TDM game mode than a Conquest Game mode.

But honestly a lot of decisions in conquest are really situational, there isn’t an unique way for every situations, many times it really depends on what you have in front of you.

So using a score system to calculate the player performance is not really easy for conquest.

Maybe an MVP system (only in a positive way to avoid troll) at the end of the match with a vote system would be more usefull than the actual score but another problem is A LOT (and sadly it’s the majority) of people don’t have a complete conquest vision.
