I don’t like seeing auras on cash items. It should be reserved for infusions or legendary gear. ????
As long as auras are achievable through play, it’s fine to have some on the store for people with more money than time, imo.
OP claims that:’What Anet has created (and the reason why they struggle in making armor), is a different body type for almost EVERY race available in GW2. We have a small, medium, large, and beastly body-type. This sums up almost every body-type available in your average mmo. Meaning that there is a veryyyyyy high probability that any future race added to the game WILL fit the body-type of a current race. This means that ANY armor created or existing will be able to be applied to said race without any difficulties."
For the argument to be valid, the models need to align exactly. Not in just one case (he claims ‘almost every body type’). The most commonly requested new playable race is Tengu. It fits none of them. Same goes for Largos, or Quaggan, other races likely to fit the bill for player races.
‘Debunk’ debunked.
Ascended light armour fits it really well, imo.
Oh look, a backseat driver that knows better. What are the chances, ey?
Important to note that you can attune rings, so you can have two from Bitterfrost frontier (Black Ice Band). They’re by far the cheapest. Attunement doesn’t actually require you playing any fractals, you can get the agonised essence from a merch in the fractal lobby.
Moved from DB to YB two months after launch because he Axis of Insurrection alliance packed up and moved to SoS without informing my guild at the time. Mapchat changed from mostly english to mostly Korean, so I felt no longer welcome.
Hmm. As I understand it this proposal is so Anet has more building blocks to manage balanced matchups.
If that’s the case, then it might be prudent to assign TZ “servers” so you can more equally distribute offhour coverage. It would be an adjustment for us SEA/EU/OCX guys, but you could guarantee (to a degree) that off hour coverage is mitigated by only assigning an OCX server group to a matchup with opposing OCX server groups. (For example)
There need to be some way to incentivise these groups tho for it to work.
Here’s an idea: change the first slot in BL chests from a seasonal bag to a booster. Everyone wins.
-At least six maps;
-2 Elite specs per class, on par in strength with those of HoT to promote build diversity.
-Branching storyline.
I’m baffled by someone demanding hat kind of emmersion from an MMO. If that annoys you to the extent of starting a forum thread with multiple replies I’m afraid to ask what you feel about those ever respawning bosses and mets events.
“Why are the NPCs still talking about Zhaitan like he’s alive?! I killed him!”
You have two options: suck it up and deal with it, or stick to single player RPGs.
If ToT bags were so worthless, people wouldn’t be spending hours on hours of their lives farming them.
~EW
That’s a false equivalency, EW. People farm them because you can sell them in bulk for quite a profit. Getting a ToT bag in replacement of another, generally more profitable drop at a cost of 41.6 gems is in no way comparable.

Retaliation doesn’t directly reflect damage back on an attacker. IN this case reflection means ‘returning damage back on an attacker’. Mechanically, when you apply the boon, the attacker takes damage when they attack you, scaling with your power. It ticks only once per attack, so it’s generally less useful against bosses, since a lot of their attacks are slow.
When a mob has an attack that ticks often, Retal procs more often. Retal is way more effective in WvW/PvP where attacks come in wat faster. It’s quite easy to kill yourself by casting an AoE on several players all with Retal up.
I don’t think that design by committee is the best way to go about assuring balance. Your testing suggestion relies on people restraining themselves, while many would be. fine with their builds being overpowered.
You can change traits at any time out of combat. You cannot undo HP allocations, but you’ll earn more than you’ll need. At 80 you’ll have everything in the base game unlocked. My advice is to unlock whole traitlines instead of piece by piece. Pick a traitline that synergises with utilities you enjoy using. If you’re not sue what’s what, use the wiki. You can type /wiki subjectiwanttoknowabout to open a browser to the relevant wiki page from in game chat.
You don’t need to fully focus on say, signets alone for a workable build, although you get a bit more out of traits that buff them. A good build covers your needs (have a stun breaker, condiclears, etc) maximises dps (for that build; a more survivable build should still find ways to optimise damage) and synergises traits and skills.

What Na said. Producing new content for a once a year festival is a wasteful use of resources, considering they have LS3 and an expansion to work on.
Balance patch notes, they’re just not complete without a truckload of hyperbole.
You can party with someone, and set party GUI to minimal. That’s the closest you’ll get.
You don’t neccessarily need to go into melee much with sword on Mesmer. Mostly camp GS and switch to sword when you need to proc extra illusions or need the invulnerability on 2. That works at any range.
Don’t use your level 80 booster until you experienced levelling a toon the normal way. It’s a shortcut so you won’t have to do it all over again, but the base game has a lot to offer.
There are many hidden gems in each map, go out and explore.
Stop to smell the roses. Listen to NPC conversations. A lot of events are chained, so don’t rush off immediately after completing one.
Gather all the things for profit and crafting. In the top right of your inventory there’s a gear icon. Clicking that brings up a menu that will allow you to instantly put all materials in your bank.
About that bank; note that there’s a seperate tab for al your materials. It stacks up to 250 mats, which can be expanded upon with gems.
Balance changes are part and parcel for MMOs. If you feel that a balance patch can erase the credit of the last few updates, then by all means.
It does present as overly dramatic in my opinion though.
It might be this as well: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Strawberry_Ghost

I’m curious to see what servers people who are -1 are from
Tarnished Coast -1 because having no doors is silly. Because Siege is apart of WvW no matter how op it is. A castle should have siege to defend it in a war. WvW isnt some openfield kitten.. Just because something is imbalanced doesn’t mean it needs to be removed. It could be reworked. Like siege for instance. Or the toughness of Tier 3 objectives.
Have you seen how fat TC runs? You can’t even break outer without trebbing from a tower and let’s say you do get into inner? You literally have 0 hope of breaking through a T3 sieged castle WITH a blob defending it.
I avoid EBG like the plague specifically because SMC promotes massive pug blobs constantly re-spawning and running to the center. This can not be pinned on 1 server in fact this happens on all the servers I fought and played on. The problem you guys are identifying is the flow of the map and general WvW mechanics like Tier 3 keeps and Arrow Carts. The issue isn’t with SMC itself but the flow of the map. It makes everyone meet in the dead center. Hence your lag..
If Arrow Carts were simply removed from game, and there were no doors at all and you couldn’t upgrade anything. I bet the same folk would be very happy.
You do know that SM is the highest value object you can get right? It should be fought for. Otherwise, the server with the high population is just going to get it day 1, fortified it, seige it up, and just get free points. Not only that, but it offers a huge advantage of being about to move around the map and capture other points without much worries.
Edit***
By removing the doors and the bs built in siege, not only do you give smaller groups a fighting chance to get SM but it also forces bigger blobs not to be as focus about it.Nah Bigger blobs would just sit in there waiting for the fight. or the PPK bag farm.
If SMC had no doors and no defenses ArenaNet would probably lower how much it gave you because the position isn’t strategic and means little now. As a matter of fact all open doors then why are the wall destructible? It’s a Castle. It’s suppose to be extremely defensive and hard to take. The point of SMC isn’t for small scale fighting. You know this is you look at the keep lord and the scale of the structure and location itself. SMC is suppose to attract big blobs not deter them. Why do you think it’s positioned where it is and cost the most.
I do agree T3 keeps and Castles are kittened to take. I agree SMC is also insane to take when its T3. I believe that’s a huge problem, but this proposal is a terrible solution.
Excuse me sir, but are you high? Whoever owns SM right now is currently farming bags because if the blob starts losing, they just hide back in, and start firing siege. Not only that, but no one even tries to take SM once it is T3 because everyone knows it is pointless. If the doors were open, actual WvW guilds could come in and fight these blobs on a more level playing field vs people who just sit on siege, press 1, and collect $200.
Don’t be condescending by asking if I’m high, when I’m talking nicely to you. I’m apart of an actual WvW guild that has taken T3 SMCs from map zergs with siege. I’ve farmed enemies pouring out of SMC and they can only run to inner because we’ve pelted so many holes in outter. Furthermore if you wanted them to leave SMC then hit something else.
I don’t believe you are even reading your own words. Did you not admit you were in TC? Last time I check, TC has own SM this entire week. Farming people leaving your own castle? I’m sure that isn’t that difficult. I can understand why you wouldn’t want to change anything when it favors your server very well.
Mate, I’m no fan of Mal, but he’s a known quantity in the WvW community, and has probably been on more servers than you captured SM. Which server he’s curently on has no bearing on anything.
I get it, you don’t like siege. But suggesting to remove the doors on SMC is laughable.
Most heavy classes do have ranged; rifle and longbow for warrior, Hammer for rev, Scepter and Longbow for Guard.
To harry with melee, you need leaps/movement skills to move in and out of combat, and CC to lock your opponent down. All heavies have these in abundance.
With what aspect are you having trouble?
This question gets asked all the time, here’s a relevant Reddit thread.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/54m7mz/what_class_should_i_play_a_summary_of_the/
Ophidia, Warrior is way faster than a Guard. The Warrior’s Sprint Trait (+25% if melee wpn equiped), Greatsword 3 and 5 skills, Warhorn, Sword 2 will have you zooming across the map.
Base Rev is slower, but you can use Shiro’s leap to move around if you click a distant target first. It won’t put you in combat if you can’t reach them. ‘White’ creatures are handy for this as well. Also, blasting Jalis’ lightning field with a Hammer or Mace will stack swiftness.
If worst comes to worst, you can always look at things like Rune of Speed or Traveler runes.
Let’s see, stuff not covered by Iczek:
- Complete achievements;
- Pick a collection and complete it;
- Get as many dyes as you can;
- Win at Fashion Wars and fill your wardrobe;
- Try different Orders/Story arch in the Personal story;
- craft a legendary;
- Acquire a full ascended set;
- fill up your remaining character slots;
- Become insanely rich by playing the market;
- do your daily node farms;
- Feel lucky and gamble your fortune away with the Mystic Forge or Ecto Gambling;
- Max your Core Masteries.
Really, still plenty to do.
Now, now, Hamfast, you know that cats giving you birds is a sign of affection and warmth. It’s the only way they know to show they think you’re worth keeping alive — they feed you.
Actually, it means the cat things you suck at hunting, and is showing you how it’s done.
Judgemental animals, those felines.
I appreciate your point, but I think it’s unlikely to happen. They’d need to reskin, what six or seven minions for a relatively small group of the community.
Doesn’t seem like a worthwhile investment of time and effort from a business perspective.
Exotics will do fine in WvW. You might want to work on getting Ascended trinkets and weapons, since they have the biggest stat increases over their exotic counterparts, but it’s not an immediate requirement.
Soldier’s is actually a fairly decent set to start WvW with, especially as a frontliner. Going full beserker means that you can only survive a few hits, and is better for experienced roamers (solo players). I would suggest sticking with it for now, and do rewardtracks to get more gear of your choosing.
GW2 is fashionwars. The difference in price on those two greatswords is in the rarity of the skin. They’re the same in stats, but people like to look good.
I got a laugh out of the replies to lower his standards to try and artificially create a challenge for himself. Give up your drive to be good at this game, but only to a degree in which the other occupants deem worthy, but don’t get all ambitious and do good beyond that you degenerate.
I got a laugh out of his suggestion of making the game harder, something clearly not supported by the wider population. You only have to look at the nerf of the HoT maps after the general outcry of it’s difficulty.
You can demand the game to change, which seems unlikely, or you can attempt to make your own challenge.
I wasn’t, then I made a condi mesmer a few years ago and didn’t die after days of roaming. I tried again to not be. I then made a Daredevil and consistently started beating groups of 6+, and can pretty much win fights half-AFK against my guildmembers on it when in the guild area, which if I swap power they either put up a very good fight or win in many cases. Not closed-minded. I immediately associate condition builds with people who suck too much to play the game built power and can let their crutches give them free wins.
I don’t even care or feel the compulsion to care when I see someone putting up videos playing conditions in WvW lol.
I do like how you arbitrarily decide how the game should be played to pad your own ego. Good on ya.
No, non, nein, nee, nema, njet, ninguno, hakuna, not ever.
The screenshot proves that Anet had their hand in this. The Capricious Favour of Gaile Gray, huh?
Gimme a Dusk too, Gaile.
Also with DD; customisable dodges, great mobility, and melee staff. Only two professions have access to Melee staff, Revenant and DD thief.
Stupidity is something else that needs to be nerfed. It’s getting out of hand.
Stupidity is nerfed intelligence. Please buff intelligence.
Got mine the way IWN described. Worth the try.
Why not Viper/Sinister?
Because you’d be giving up burst damage for Condi damage without the survivability needed for the condi to do its work, in WvW at least.
For a power build that you also want to use in WvW i’d recommend Marauder’s. You’ll need the extra Vitality to survive.
If you’re part of a small roaming group Zerker makes sense, because your mates will lock the target down. Roaming alone becomes landing your burst or dying. In zergs Rangers tend to lack AoE damage to be really useful. They are sometimes employed to attack siege at +1200 range though.
-DO make them tradeable. The people who have already unlocked the dyes and investors will complain that the market has crashed because suddenly they’re abundant and tradeable…
Um.. boohoo? That’s the risk/reward of the market. Just because someone speculated on dyes and they are now worth thousands of gold in profit to them, does not mean they have a right to that profit.
Your argument works the other way as well. You decided to buy all the dyes, that’s therefore the risk you took. Could you have predicted Anet making those dye packs a Birthday reward? No. Neither would dye traders be able to predict those dyes becoming unbound and tradeable.
Your argument is therefore moot.
YB will do what it always does…throw matches for a few weeks until they are at the bottom of the tiers, then do their blob thing where they send the entire zerg after 1 person for the next few weeks like always.
YB has never thrown matches until they’re at the bottom of the tiers. ‘Never’ seems far removed from ‘always’. Don’t let facts stand in the way of your narrative though.
I’ll never cease to be amazed by people’s capacity for hyperbole and logical fallacies.
Crossbow skins wouldn’t work at all, because the animation would have to be completely different. They’d have to make not only the crossbow skin, but at least one new animation, and tech to hook up that animation to the skin instead of the character.
for a few weeks now i’ve been skeptical about the validity of these polls, because it seems like things are seen positively that most wvwers i know would absolutely abhor to see in the game mode. if all players (pvers included) have access to the polls, just how valid could they be?
Anecdotal evidence and confirmation bias are not a reliable means to predict the result of a poll.
I’m liking FA for the past few months. Outnumbered for the most part versus JQ and YB but doing decent and good community so far.
Put it this way, zerg busting claiming guilds can test their skills here
You must not play in SEA timezone.
FA runs the biggest map blob during SEA with ND, CA and GK all running as one giant 3 headed monster.
I barely ever see YB, they keep their head down. I believe they are not playing this week to ensure they don’t move back to tier 1. I have no idea how big YB is until they come out and play in the next few weeks.
I have never seen FA being outnumbered by YB.
JQ always outnumbers FA when the 3 headed monster isn’t running.
In my opinion, if you want to bust blobs in SEA then JQ is your place – you get double or triple teamed by decent guilds that want fights and we have quite decent pugs.
YB may also be a good option but until I see what their SEA population is I wouldn’t commit to that. You don’t want to be a 15 man guild taking on ND+CA+GK without any pugs, you’ll just get steamrolled.
Is this guy serious? Comparing FA’s SEA, which is the single timezone FA has always traditionally been most short on, with JQ’s SEA, which is what JQ is known for… nevermind the fact that more than half the guilds he named are actually on SoR. SMH.
There’s frankly not enough SEA to go around. On YB I know of 12 players that are actual SEA players. JQ seems very blobby in both OCX and SEA from what I’ve seen. Feels like like old school T4 again, with hordes of DBs then omnipresent SEA around.
Your post is neither brief nor a PSA.
As Esquilax said, put up a LFG mentioning ‘beginner’ ‘all cutscenes’ etc to attract the crowd you want. Alternatively, join a guild willing to accommodate you.
/snip
Don’t bother mate. ‘OnS+TW ruined T1’ is now a truth in the same way ‘YB is toxic for using siege’ is. you’ll never change anyone’s mind. Who gives a toss. Play and have fun.
Raids will also require ascended trinkets and weapons at least. In WvW servers were linked up (merged without merging) which has inflated numbers of players in WvW. Not sure how your server is doing though.
You need to set up a Hundred Blades. If the enemy has a lot of interupts I pop stability, then follow up with a Knock or stun before hitting Hundred Blades.
Eh… Do you even DD brah. You get 3 dodges, another two with Signet of Agility, an evade skill (if not two) on most weapon sets, Acrobatics and access to Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat stew, which grants might on dodge and +40% endurance regen.
