I think outfits are fine. There are still a lot of customizable armor skins. But what I dislike is just one outfit for all three armor classes. It takes away the flavor of weight classes. An ele with Balthazar outfit just doesn’t fit.

The fact that the low dps weapons like GS mesmer and bearbows are the most popular just shows how desinterested most are. I don’t care if they really want to dish out next to no damage and I get that ranged in zergs is very cozy, but don’t use that kittening knockback on cooldown. Even a real world friend told me once (he doesn’t play anymore and was just extremely casually levelling to 80) that it doesn’t matter, he just uses skills on CD.

Imo ele is one of the hardest classes to master. It is unforgiving – especially in zerker gear but you will adapt and get better, you get used to your squishiness. Once you did that you notice how much DPS you can dish out, you also are a master of might stacking and other buffs with a kittenload of utility thanks to 4×5 weapon skills and even more summon weapons.
In short: Warrior is super forgiving and easy to play, does nice damage. It’s really a beginner class (no offense though there are very good warrior players). Ele is hard and you have to learn all the combo fields and skills etc. Not that you don’t need to know this for other classes, but with Ele you simply have to use all you can to reach the goal and survive. You will learn a lot about this game and its mechanics.

Kinda, though with your argument you also can complete the whole map to achieve 100%. It’s similar to vanquishing. Btw. i found vanquishing in GW1 a grind and never finished it. It really is a matter of opinion.
That said, I still think there should be more ‘challenging group content’ in form of raids or what we had with the elite parts of Guild Wars 1 (which were actually raid-like content): Give us a massive area like the Fissure of Woe the Underworld with unique drops, items and quests to repeat. It was so popular and highly appreciated in GW1. Okay maybe you have the exact metrics and you could argue only a minority enjoyed/played it regularly. But even then: there should be a service for people who demand that.
I understand you don’t want to create a divided community with people who get the cool/rare items out of a super hard content which others can’t achieve. You even don’t let us re-arrange the skills or have side bars just because you are so eager to give everyone the same chances. But it hurts the game, it hurts the experience since you don’t need to be good to get all the shiny goods. Okay, there are a couple of rather hard achievements or titles to get, but usually as a part of single player experience. I still want to hear why you don’t want to have bigger groups/parties than 5. I once saw an interview with Colin Johansson where he vigorously neglected the idea of bigger groups than 5. Why? Why not make instanced content with adaptable enemies, possible from 5 to 20 players?

After reading this thread I tried myself and went there, they never were flaming. Okay, there was actually no one doing the heart quest.
But for real: if you see them, just do either the other parts of this heart – you don’t need to kill the ravens – or just do it and live with the flamers and just tell them you’re doing the heart quest. It’s a a couple of minutes to complete. If you can’t stand the flamers then you are not built for the hard harsh world called outside.

How much will gw 2 heart of thorns cost?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ProtoGunner.4953
The original game cost 60$/€, that what’s counting. It’s just 3 years old so, that’s why it’s cheaper. Every company does that.
But why all those “how much will it cost” threads? Does it really matter if it is 30, 40 or 50$/€? Can’t imagine that all of you who can afford a PC can’t afford that.

People are defending the game in view of the fact that we had lots of content updates and ‘living story’ which other MMOs don’t have. This is not the full truth: I played a couple of other MMOs, they all add content from time to time which they also could sell as ‘living world/story’. They add new areas, new story parts as well as new raids and dungeons and sometimes new features. In regard of this hitting a three years mark is really a long time.
I think, Anet was just experimenting and didn’t exactly know if they want to release only LS or expansions. In the end they new the benefits of an expansion as well as the fans asking for it. Hence it took so long.
In regards of ‘it will take ages until we kill all the elder dragons’: guys, just think a bit outside of the box: they could bend and change the story how they want. Maybe one elder dragon changes his mind and will be our ally. Or we will fight two dragons at the same time. Whatever, they can implement what they want. Or kill one off and give us an even greater threat… everything is possible. The writers from Warcraft surely never knew what will happen in 2015 storywise after they created the first WoW or imagine even the first Warcraft game…

Okay, sorry, my tone was a bit harsh, you are right. I didn’t think much about it, since the game mechanics allows it and even needs timing – so it isn’t super easy to time it right. There is no bug or strange gliching involved. Yes, imo it is different than the Lupi WoR trick insta-kill inside the wall. But what I wanna say is: the line between what’s legit and what not is very blurry and everyone has his/her own opinion about it. Only Anet can tell us and even there; they have to decide at some point what they think is right and wrong.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
By your logic ‘disabling a boss from attacking and moving is a legit tactic’ – you cheat your way all the time by speed clearing. Or do you kill Kholer ranged by dodging his pull attack how it is intended by the developers? Think before you direct false accusations under your self-made premises what’s right and wrong, legit and illegit.

I don’t know why they are so eager to keep the UI for every player. Why can’t we customize it? I mean I don’t even ask for UI addons (I always hated those in WoW), but let us add additional skill/side bars for convenience: bufffood, gadgets, tonics etc. It’s so annoying to always open the inventory and looking for the stuff you want to use.

GW1 dungeons were a walk in the park as well. Like in every game if you run meta. It’s the same everywhere.

Instanced all the way. They can keep the open world bosses ofc. but please: make instanced raid content: 10, 20, 50-man or whatever for guilds. Difficulty shouldn’t be too hard, something in the line of Tequatl and Wurm with – and here it comes – UNIQUE REWARDS. I talk about a whole set of new exclusive rewards tied to that instance, special drops from the bosses only this boss can drop.

The problem here you can’t mix facts and fiction: It is purely the imagination of a writer or idea, if the military COULD destroy a creature or not. If the author decides so, it can. If not it can’t. Therefore, your question is irrelevant.
I always had problems with this in fantasy generally: it is pure imagination of the author that Son-Goku is stronger than Vegeta. If the author decides otherwise, the result is different.
So, with other words: the Elder Dragon has magic, the author could set the premise: the Elder Dragon is able to negate the power of an atomic or thermonuclear/hydrogen bomb or even absorb it. You see where this goes?

2 Humans out of 9 Characters. One female ele and one male necro. Sorry, can’t support your opinion. I don’t RP as well, but I love to dive into other characters/species. Well, there are games that are more realistic like Last of Us (gameplay wise) or Heavy Rain.

I would prefer to have a 60-100% speed boost over the maps of WvW to reach my goal. Running there with constant skill uses etc. is annoying and also balances classes who have little access to convenient speed buffs. Also, there are maps like the SW where people WOULD use the wayponint after dying at Vinewrath if they have mounts. The argument that they won’t waypoint is it takes a kittenload of time to reach there again. With a speed boost of 100% you would be there in no time. Same goes with contested waypoints.
Besides: FFXIV has mounts and as well as waypoints. No one complains.
The cluttering argument is ridiculous: we have magic effects on bosses which clutter much worse than anything else.
The arguments of the naysayers are ridiculous at most – besides the resources and of course they had to change some stuff on the maps. In my opinion: most of those people just don’t want a ‘copy’ of a ‘generic MMO’.

If you are kitten at it: you can learn coordination within a 3D room and adapt, you get used to it. JPs are very appreciated and be cause you don’t like it, you are complaining? Yeah, I though about this a long time. Along with additional side bars for food, gadgets, minis, toys, tonics etc. Why in hell wouldn’t they add this. Arenanet is so eager to defend their clean and slick GUI that it hurts the gameplay and comfort of an MMO. Almost every MMO has optional sidebars exaclty for all the stuff we use often but have to open the inventory and search the thing we are looking for. It’s really annoying.

Apart from that semantically your title makes no sense – you should rather write coming back or returning – I suggest you just read the synopsis about season 1 in the official wiki. You didn’t miss much though. There weren’t much unique areas or zones you missed:

I did it in a party, just hit him a couple of times as ranger and someone else played Caithe. It may take a couple of tries.
But yes: after doing the ‘final enemy of the Season 2’ a couple of times to get all the achievements (they aren’t easy, so you need a couple of tries) I felt annoyed: even if the achievement fails the very first second of the fight you have to finish it to restart with the challenge mote. In other games I just can restart from the last checkpoint which would be the start of the fight. But whatever: better than doing the whole instance again.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Yes, please let us turn that warning off, not for exotics but for rares. In the early days rares were a bit more worth, now I usually get 10-20 rares every day by doing Silverwastes or world bosses and I only sell the ones that are more worth than one ecto (after fee deductions). So, every time I salvage a rare I have to confirm, doubleclick my Mystic Salvage Kit again and redo the process. It’s not THAT horrible, but would make it easier. Just let us choose: make a checkmark if we want that or not. And yes: just let us not again doubleclick the kit to salvage another rare.

If they go for something like Paragon, I hope they will bring back Arias, Refrains and Chants from GW1: maintainable buffs for the group. I loved my Imbagon back then, it was a super awesome build and was truly the ‘last man standing’ on the battlefield who could turn the tides of a battle!

Forget the BS what others say about: “All class has their ups and downs”. Fact is: there are much more forgiving classes than others. A warrior still has 18-19k life in full zerker and highest armor class while an elementalist has 11k and lowest armor, this is very noticeable.
Warrior is by far the easiest class, followed by ranger. I played all classes between 150-800 hours and can safely say that. Comparing the same content I did with elementalist to warrior is like super hard mode to easy mode. I only run zerker builds so you can make it much more forgiving if you go for more tanky gear.

Use a mouse with a lot of additonal buttons like the Logitech G600 or Razer Naga and map all the skills on the buttons. I pay more if I go out for dinner, since I live in an expensive country. I really don’t care if the price is 20 or 60 €.
That said, the price should be 20-40€ (or dollars) for the standard edition. Can’t imagine they ask for a full price of 60 €. Expansions are usually considerably cheaper than the basic game.

Started to be a bi-weekly update in the ‘ever-changing’-world of Tyria. That was the initial idea. Fact is: it’s no different than in other MMOs regular updates now and then. With the fact that living story season 1 isn’t even available anymore they mostly hurt themselves and hence introduced more instanced content in ‘season (ohman I hate this word in connection with games) 2’. We had roughly an update every 2 months what started to be bi-weekly.
