Yeah, I noticed a significant increase of duration of killing Maw (Svanir Champ in Wayfearer Hills). I asked in my guild and they though it was all fine. But it seems they really changed it. Additionally, before update I could kill low enemies with 1-2 GS flourishes. Now it takes 3-4 to kill them.

Loaded it within 1minute and with the new streaming client I could go online. Downloaded with 5mb/s :-)
There are a lot of bugs though. I assume the developers are aware of those (random shouts form different classes, guild chat rather broken, lags, disconnects, jungle wurm without shaders etc.).
Camera changes are great! It’s what I expected. Many people seem to have expected something like Skyrim, where you can see your weapons and hands while casting, I lol’d
SHIRO!!
I hope this will come true. But let’s see the facts: Rytlock’s attack in the promotional video and now the datamined Information we have. It is likely we will have Shiro.
I hope for Impossible Odds and Battle Scars as skills. Oh, yessssss. And dual Sword/Dagger-Hybrid.
With a DS build you usually hit around 7-9k with every single blast. So it’s not that bad.
I ran some hundreds dungeon runs and never got kicked. I don’t see a problem.

WoW has a completion title for every additional expansion map. So it is separated in different titles, but you can still get the whole completion with an achievement. Similar in GW1 you could complete each continent separately with an additional title for completion of every continent.
It’s a camera update we waited 2.5 years now. It really doesn’t matter if we have to wait a bit longer than planned. Grow up, learn the virtue of patience, really.
I take the GS if the content is annoying or harder. For the easier dungeons, you don’t have to dodge often, so go with the sword/axe. It really makes no big difference in a group and 99% of pugs or in guild parties no one cares anyway.
Yeah, I already mentioned, I won’t do it. It bugs me that there is even a way. It just omits everything with a win button, which is a degradation of gaming. The point in games is the journey, not the end.
The people doing this are generally the first who complain that there is nothing else to do.
So, that said: people will do it and I can’t do anything about it. It’s not that I can’t live with that. But I personally have my negative thoughts about it and I just wanted to express that. I get along with it.
The OP has a point: the instant levelling takes away the ‘work’ and immersion a gamer usually has to reach the goal. It comes together with the mentality and mindset newer gamer generations have now: go right to the end, not the journey is the reward.
I WILL level my revenant the way it is meant to be played, I don’t want to insta 80 and complain there is nothing to do after it. Be cause exactly that will happen to some players.
I am a bit disturbed how little support the OP’s opinion gets. That just shows what a mindset many GW2 players have now. Guess I am too oldschool for this world now
I’ve leveled 9 chars to 80. As far as I’m concerned, I’m done with leveling. I’ve been there and done that. I’ll take my brand new level 80 with a full set of skills and start learning how to use them and how to combine the skills together to the best effect while the people leveling the old fashioned way are still autoattacking and looking forward to weapon skill 2.
Not everyone needs the NPE.
You have a point, too. Sorry, I haven’t mentioned, I leveld myself 8 characters of each class and now I am on my 2nd Engineer which I used a lvl20 scroll, so I have no idea about the NPE.
But imho – if there is a brand new class – I think it is kind of a shame if you just can level it in no time with tomes and give them your already account bound ascended max tier armor. Something bugs me about this. It’s like you would play WoW and you could kill the highest instanced boss within the same day of the new xpac release.

Ele is hardest to master, since you have so many skills at your disposal (25), but it’s not slow, you can escape pretty well with Ele. The ele is squishy with lowest health/armor. Necro does not much damage and is rather a condition master which is a bit broken in PvE. Mesmer is also on the lower end of the damage in PvE. Thief has very hight dps similar to ele with less group support but comes with nice stealth abilities.
So for you, go either with thief or ele.
There are numerous other (merged) threads about this topic. While it is a bad decision I think people are overexaggerating it; if you don’t have even the patience to level the first couple of hours then why begin to play a game anyway? It’s not that you are locked to those limitations for the next weeks, it’s only a matter of hours.
I think it is far more limiting how we have to unlock traits if we decide to unlock them via in game events rather than buying the traits.
That’s why I wait until I craft my ascended heavy armor. I already have a full set of zerker medium armor, but with the revenant class, I will just wait and first stick to exotikittenil the new meta is ‘found’.

Have patience. The game isn’t 5-6 years old. Also, a race doesn’t add anything gameplay wise. It’s only lore based. That said, I would appreciate the Tengu as playable race.

Given how long we’ve waited while anet fiddled about with the Living World and wasted all that time and effort on non-seasonal temporary content…
1. Enough of the map opened up to double the current explorable areas of Tyria.
2. Three other new professions in addition to the Revenant, one for each armor class, each featuring new weapons (also available to various other professions).
3. At least two new playable races with new starting zones.
4. Mass quantities of missions, quests, and dungeons, multitudinous new pvp maps and varieties, wvw zones that aren’t mirror images of each other but strange, bizarre, twisted versions of tyria with desirable resources for each mirror image shard to fight over. Inspirational sources: Jade Quarry, Fort Aspenwood.
In short, less fiddling about, more MMO.
Of course, all that would be pointless if something positive and constructive and USER-FRIENDLY isn’t done to the trait system and the parts of the game Dr. Seuss’d by NPE…
This is neither here nor there
So throw your hands up in the air
And shake your Tyrian behind
To entertain the bovine mindThat would do. For now.
Lol, don’t exaggerate. Even WoW gave only one additional class after 5 years of release and two races.
The moment I see a group bigger than only 5 people – either in PvP or PvE – I will jump with joy and lay with women while drinking lots of intoxicating substances and listening to Iron Maiden.
I think they are not able to make an interface which shows more than 5 people, so that’s why a squad is a joke and there will be never a bigger parties than 5.
I will first create a Revenant and play in one of the starter zones. I won’t use any tomes since I think it belongs to the experience of an MMO to level a new class.
Deluxe edition is really crap, nothing to see there. The elite is a joke you never use and the rest is for nothing. Just ignore it.
@search feature, it’s broken since about 1.5 years and they aren’t able to fix it.
Most player’s opinion is extremely subjective. That’s why raw data is much much better.
However, there are some very good and analytic players out there that have a point.
It’s normal that you have to pass on features of the expansion, that’s what an expansion is.
If you want those features buy the expansion kitten . It’s not that it costs more than a dinner with your girl friend.
Sorry, who is this? Guys, just do something substantial with your life instead of a young fellow playing a game you already know. What the hell has become of this world?
I really just wonder why there are still so many elites (read: ELITES) skills which are so horrible no one uses. I am not even talking about the absolute horrible racial elite skills out there which I wonder the devs wasted time on it.
No it is about the absolute abysmal skills like mortar, rampage, the two tomes etc. who no single serious player uses. Yeah there may be some very situational moments where maybe one oft the tomes is useful, but really. Why don’t they change this? What the hell is with this horrible Mortar?
There are skills no one uses ever – especially in PvE. Venoms, most traps, racials, etc. Why don’t they change this? Why don’t they split pve and pvp?
Playing Destiny on PS4 atm and Bloodborne is released soon! So, waiting for betas and release date for GW2 is an easy task :-)
You ABSOLUTELY need a group in order to kill the dragon on the last story mission.
No, I did all by myself the first try. It’s really not hard. If you want to play a hard game, go play Dark Souls, but I assume you only know FIFA and CoD…
i hope to god they get a better scepter, staff, and longbow. MY god, who designed these rainbow bright trash weapons. Too much disney. Need weapons that instill fear, not something that looks like a little girl designed to mix nicely with her my little pony collection.
…and not everyone wants to find a testosterone inferiority complex filled compensation in a virtual world.
Ever heard of diversity? Open your mind and try to create a thoughtful white shaded character. May you find bliss in it.
The rooting just sucks, I literally could watch how I went down during Tassa or what she’s called (SE1) used her AoE, I was trying to dodge out for two seconds and it never happened, even the kitten monarch’s leap or what it’s called didn’t work, that stupid animation kitten should stop. Yeah I know I can change weapon blabla, sorry, but that’s simply not well thought out game design.
Same here, I usually run well, but the game crashes from time to time @Teq. It happened again yesterday.
I remember GW1 crashed once or twice in 6-7 years of my active time there. GW2 crashed about 50 times until now. Just want to point it out.
I am not paid on an hourly basis but if I count it as hourly payment I can afford about 50 keys every hour. That’s why I usually buy stuff with money. There it is: either you work or you don’t work and can waste time on farming.
as an Asura
i think all races are equally lesser and equally stupid.
its only racist if u pick out a race on its own.
Lol, good one. But honeslty: there is only a truce between Charr and Human, officially they’re still in war.
Let’s face it, it’s pretty normal to have bank tabs and I think the OP is right, that they should provide more for just in game gold. If you exchange gold for gems, it is pretty expensive: 70 to 80g per bank tab which is ridiculously high. The bank tabs WILL fill and one IS NOT enough as mentioned by a lot of posters here which I though wouldn’t fanboy around. There are a lot of items you want to either share with your character or you simply don’t have enough space (kittenloads of ascended rings or bloodstone dust anyone?)
I have a question, the wiki article is a bit unclear about this. To join a squad do I need the commander compendium? And if yes, why in Tyria’s Gods’ name did they do that?
No, to join a squad you just need to right click the commander’s name on the map. You can also right click the commander’s portrait when targeted or in party and get the same option to “Join Squad.”
Commander’s Compendium only unlocks the ability to create a squad, and all commander functionality is based around hitting that button.
Oh, that’s good news, thank you for clarification. I just asked, I tried in game to join squads and somehow it never happened something. Is that be cause the commander didn’t do anything and hasn’t talked through the /squad chat? I’ll try that next time. Don’t usually commanders make use of that?
Lol, some code of black attachable wings and the community is already nerdraging that there are no white ones. Guys, what the kitten are you 15 year olds? Get a kittening grip!

Until now I only see one weapon skill with taunt (revenant hammer #2) and one trait (‘Eye for an Eye’) which taunts the enemy when you are disabled – that’s one big troll trait :-)
MMOs are not Tetris, they change and evolve. Obviously people knew about it when they bought an MMO, right?
AdaephonDelat,I’d disagree there,I think a lot of people find 29g to be quite a summ, and that for just one episode and his friends need like 7,I can’t see how that much gold can be earned easily, unless, you have a secret you’d be willing to share?
Like… 1 hour in Silverwastes?
Er, what? You get maybe 2-3g per hour in SW, but never 30.
I get mad on players who:
… and a lot more. It’s not every day the same and usually I don’t tell them. Also, people online who stat that staff guardian and the like is good etc. It’s just ridiculous.
I also bought gems for several thousand €.
Mounts should have 60-100% speed buff and only usable out of combat. It’s a convenience and in line with about 10 billion other games. A mount with 33% speed buff is a joke, you can use swiftness for that.
After a year, anet release some statistics and ranger was the 2nd most created class, right behind warrior.
In PvE: people in PvE act like braindeads, bearbows everywhere using mindlessly point blank shot anytime on cooldown. It’s horrible and I am really ashamed I main a ranger as well. I almost never use this skill. Maybe 1-2 during a whole evening of gaming.
In PvP: I played PvP yesterday as a bunker and met some annoying thiefs. The skill really is annoying, but then again, that’s like it is. Luckily I have a lot of blocks and stability to counter that.
Although I have all my 8 80ies in either exotic or ascended zerker armor (i mostly play PvE), I hope there will be a change of meta. Something that will vastly change the playstyle and let people choose more freely instead of the all same zerker meta.
There are people who think the only solution is trinity which is wrong. There are a lot of mechanics to overcome ‘stack in corner and burn enemies’-tactic. Either a scatter mechanic similar to GW1-anti-farm-mechanic or extremely strong attacks on melee range etc.
People forget that the dungeons are old – newer content shows, that there are a lot of better mechanics like some fractals or single encounters like Liadri.
Many times mentioned: additional side bars for food, gizmos, tonics etc. And let us rearrange the UI, why are you so arfraid to give us a bit more customization. It was possible in GW1, why not here?
Yesterday I was in an AC run, most ppl had 3k AP and it was one of the better runs, really smooth. This AP stuff really doesn’t say anything. At least when it’s over 1000.
Gem store.
An Error Prevented Saving:
Message Body length must at least be 15.
I think they will release it either at the end of August – exactly 3 years after original release – or around holiday season.
I’d like to hear the other side’s story :-) I never ever had such encounters. I already told that and will tell again: most (not all) people who complain in forums are not better themselves. Otherwise I wonder how I with my ca. 1000 dungeon runs never had any of those incidents I read about every now and then.
No housing, that belongs to a Sims game, not an MMO. I just ignore that. They rather should add Raids and Dungeons to the game than such a boring feature.
I can’t imagine that people who have pc and internet can’t afford an expansion. I simply can’t…
Anyway, that’s a tough question: I think I will first start a revenant and from time to time switch to one of my other classes (usually Guardian, Warrior, Ranger, Thief).

Very well said, Vayne. Many forget the flaws of GW1. People tend bathe in nostalgia and forget the negative stuff. That’s human btw, helps us to overcome past traumatic events.
I just don’t get why people are so mad not being the great hero. It seems like a bunch of crying little babies who want to be the best at something. Before I was in forum I couln’t think about hating Trahearne, why? I mean what is the kittening problem – you were an important member of a team that saved the world, so be good with it.
