First off: you are on a better way with Kudzu than with other Legendaries since it’s a rather cheap one. Granted, the precursor is rather expensive (900g or so), but if you keep farming and selling your stuff constantly, you will have your 1k g or so in a couple of months. It IS a legendary at the end. And Legendary needs work, I hope you can comply.
The rest happens naturally. Salvage everything but rares and exotics that are worth more than one ecto. Also check the sigils/runes of random exotics. Sometimes they are worth quite a lot.

Either that or just change it to be skins. I alway used those for skins anyway – like 99% of the community I assume.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Lol, I seem to be different than the majority in the (forum-)community: I like all the shiny and fancy weapons which most 16 year old black human male warrior don’t like.
Now they release this, I think they are pretty lame. The Hammer looks okay but doesn’t fit any of my characters.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I have no problems with Gem Store skins, but lore based epic weapons from GW1 just selling as RNG box reward (Chaos, Tormented, Zodiac) just left an underwhelming taste. Where for god’s sake are the elite dungeons/missions. We don’t have a single one, for real. Where is the epic Underworld with unique rewards? This game really lacks!

Why are people so against it?
1. Development time best spent elsewhere: Go find the threads that ask “what 5 things do you want added to the game” and mounts come in pretty low on the list.
Point granted, there are far more important things to implement or improve.
2. Clipping: I cant even get decent armor for my Charr or Norn, do you really think there wouldn’t be clipping with mounts (unless you are human).
Well. I don’t care much about clipping, really. It’s fairly common in MMOs. However: that’s an issue which hasn’t directly to do with the mount as you already mentioned that a lot of armor already clips.
3. Performance issues: My minis already get culled on full maps, would your mounts be subject to this or would I have to put up with lower performance for YOUR mount.
Same answer: a developer’s issue. If they solve the ridiculous low amount of players per map, this shouldn’t be any issue. Just as a comparison: WoW has whole continents as a single instanced map, no zones with a couple of thousand players, minis, mounts etc. —> no lags – yea graphics are less spectacular and polygon count is low as well – that helps I know.
4. Speed boost: A lot of mount people insist that mounts have a speed boost and don’t care if it makes the game unbalanced or force people who hate mounts to use them just to stay competitive.
For real? Are there players who hated mounts in Skyrim and didn’t use a horse because of hate? Or did players Zelda OOT without Epona be cause they hate ‘mounts’) That’s just ridiculous…
Also the argument of “take profession(class)specific speed boosts” don’t count: there are professions which can’t maintain it and/or are much more complicated to do so. Also, it uses up a skill and/or trait slot(s). I constantly have to remove another useful utility skill on my ranger, be cause I need that kitten speed boost signet.
I will also leave you with a reason that is strictly my opinion. Mounts are ugly and I don’t want to have to see them. Period. It would be completely immersion breaking to me to be wandering around and have a Norn riding a moa go strolling by. Just no.
Yeah, all mounts in any game are ugly and that’s why you don’t want it… just think about it.
I speak it out again: moste people argue very emotional and irrational about this topic and they won’t like to speak it out but the real fact is they fear the “Wowization” of Guild Wars. It’s that simple.

I have actually only problems with the Mordrem Wolves. They have a leap attack that can deal about 8 k damage to me. This is a bit too much, since you have to time the dodge – you can see the charge, but the leap happens very fast. Especially when you are in the middle of a couple of enemies, it’s sometimes not possible to dodge all those attacks. They should tone down that attack.
The other attacks, especially the fields can be avoided or dodged thou if it happens that you get downed in the DPS trail you can die extremely fast (1-3 seconds). It’s also a matter of concentration. But I usually die only every 1h or so if I play concentrated which is OK.
Another thing are non targetable tendrils which do damage over time. Sometimes my field of view is on the enemy and it takes time that I see the tentacles. It’s okay to keep the player constantly moving, but here again: tone down the damage.

It’s not that I am a big fan of GW2 story or storyterlling. There are much better games for this matter. But it really bugs me that they remove content and upon reception and several threads Anet just says nothing about it? Why that? What’s the purpose? Is it 42?
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I sometimes lay there for 2-3 mins to see if someone can rez me. But only if the WP is rather far away (which is the case in Silverwastes). The problem is that you sometimes get downed extremely fast. I usually run Berserker gear only and in the cluttered enemy areas there are single attacks that can almost insta down you. I can’t simply play always fully concentrated, especially when I play several hours.

/flex was awesome. Remember the male Monk? There were some cool moves.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Please explain why you are against a massive speed boost? Someone already mentioned that the combat itself remains the same with speed etc. Please note that you can’t fight on mounts usually. As a reminder, WoW has ground mounts up to 100% speed boost and flying mounts up to 310%.
It’s just an addition to the game. Why are people so against it? There is no real reason and the ‘reasons’ players listing are usually completely out of reason. It seems the only thing is they fear it is similar to WoW. Please note: mounts are very usual in almost any MMO – even in single player RPGs.

(edited by ProtoGunner.4953)
It not only astonishes me how irrational people react towards the suggestion of mounts, it’s also the irrational behaviour and counterarguments they have. Mainly the biggest fear is ‘OH NO WOW CLONE’.
Please consider this: a mount has several functions:
- collection (similar to minis, who doesn’t like to collect minis?)
- permanent speed buff during long distance travelling like from north to south in Lornar’s Pass
- I rather pay a big amount of money than constantly pay fees for the waypoints
- It’s fairer for different classes, some classes can’t maintenance speed buffs, and using this all the time sucks as well. Sometimes you just want to hop on your horse and ride
- cluttering isn’t really an issue that’s more the non-adjustable level of effects. Also, in Zergs you are unmounted since you are fighting, so that ridiculous argument is null
- fewer waypoints, bigger maps is something for the developer to consider: it creates immersion. Just clicking on a waypoint for fast travel isn’t. Of course I appreciate a few WPs on a map and to main cities – we aren’t inhuman, aren’t we.

Anet was always reluctant talking towards future content. I remember when GW2 was in development for years and we didn’t have any screenshot or video. Many thought it is vaporware and then – BAM! – it was announced with big success.
Me too would like to know the roadmap of the game. Is there an expansion? Or only Living Story? Dungeons and Raids? Stuff that usually the game industry likes to share with the community – especially in MMOs. Nonetheless, I think we will see more revelation in 2015.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
The home feature was planned or is still planned but gets delayed be cause there are more important things to do in the game (yeah LS and hopefully an expansion – where else those couple of 100 people?).
We may see more funcions in the future. In my own opinion I don’t care about home instances. Really not my thing.

Having status in game is extremely important in the Chinese and Korean markets. That status can either be extreme skill (which actually pays off with sponsorships in competitive circuits) or best looking weapons/armors. That’s why P2W games thrive in Asia. Players are more willing to spend all their disposable income buying the best gear in an MMO than their US or European counterparts.
Not only in games, also in real life. I was in China a couple of days ago and status is everything. Also, the VIP-word is somewhat redundant, VIP is everywhere, phone numbers, separate rooms, hotel lounges etc etc. People were always asking about my Swiss watch and how much it cost, was kinda funny. Where I live no one asks me about this and people don’t ask about money or status – they try to look equal.
Oh one other thing, someone wrote that buying a precursor with real money is pay to win. No it isn’t. The precursor is not better than any other BiS item. So this doesn’t count. Coming from one who bought a precursor with real money twice… I didn’t have luck until now with a drop or forge.

In my opinion Incinerator is the most overrated Legendary by far. That tiny little flame you won’t even notice it on humans. Actually the first time I saw it was in 2012 in a dungeon run and some people asked why the ele has some firey footfalls until he/she told us that this was a legendary lol.
I have Frostfang out of those three and I like it a lot. Also you can give it a lot of characters. Most beautiful is Sunrise imho which was my first legendary which I made in December 2012.

I would be surprised if they do not work on an expansion. As of now we hear nothing about the main game developers and story writers (Eric Flannum, Ree Soesbee, Jeff Grubb etc.). Those people were very active during pre-release and it is very likely they are just working on an expansion – not sure if Cantha. But maybe the Living Story leads to the events that occur in the expansion.

When you do easy stuff the lock-on-target is fine. But I really hate it when I need to dodge. You can turn of the 1-auto-attack, but hitting the 1 all the time sucks as well. So, as someone already mentioned, it’s a love-hate-relationship with ye good ol’ sword!
The sword – despite the hightes DPS – is an awkward weapon. That’s why I often just play the GS – kitten on the ‘meta’, you still do enough damage with GS and berserker stuff. Also I like the Maul and Swoop skills, nice to come around and do events in the open world.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
1.) That raid rewards provide no additional gameplay options or advantages in any aspect of the game outside of raiding.
2.) That lore and story content included in raids be accessible to the entire player base, and not just the top 5-10% completing raids. A story mode that does not give raid unique achievements or cosmetic rewards would do well for this.
3.) That raid design takes into account and adjusts for the following:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/balance/Rank-what-class-you-take-in-dungeon/first
Otherwise, high difficulty organized content will just become a lengthy game of “No Necros Allowed.”
Sorry, but that would be just horrible. If you do this, there is just total casual play and no skill needed. There is simply no incentive for people who want to overcome challenge. If you can’t play games, don’t play games. Not everything is for everyone.
I admit that it should be more accessible than most raid content of most MMOs, since only 5-10% can finish it. But at least make it more challenging than the faceroll content in dungeons. If people want to do the stuff they have to learn something.

I woulnd’t have any problem with a new level cap only with new zones of course. It was always a nice experience to level up the old characters in WoW and getting something new. Imho the game is completely stale from a character development standpoint. There is no point in getting additional gear, the only thing I can do is standing around in Lion’s Arch since I ran all the stuff a million of times and there is no point doin additional stuff since there is nothing that makes your character better.
However, there are other options to ‘increase’ your abilities: remember GW1 with the reputation farm and linked skills? That was pretty cool, I liked it. Also there is the system of the paragon levels from Diablo 3 which I like. It adds a little bit of more power and gives you the feel of reward.
I am sure a new campaign like Cantha or Elona would be nice too, ofc. But there must be something else other than dress-up doll.

+ Nice first impression, fun combat, beautiful art design. Promising at first. Some really good quality of life stuff (moving stuff directly to collection, rezzing, easy to get into huge events etc.).
- Lack of substantial update, not on par with the industry standard, lack of customizable UI, mostly shallow encounters, rather towards casual play. Losing hope for a positive future. Terrible QA. Too much emphasis towards gem store which makes one think that the only thing they want to do is make easy money with minimum effort.

I remember when I started with WoW about 8 years ago and learnd about a DPS meter. I always thought that I am strong with my blizzard and kill everyone. It was very disillusional when I first saw the stats of the dps meter it was depressing. But I learned and got better and better (and got better gear ofc).
I am sure there are a kittenload of players who think they are super effective and super good. And I think it would be good that they know that they aren’t helping at all or only to a very small percentage. Such revelations can help you getting better. Think about it!

Well, not that much money in my country. I easily burn through this on a weekend with eating and drinking. But if you can’t afford it then it’s of course a lot of money. I don’t like this model and is one of the many reasons I quit playing. If they keep throwing cosmetic items at us instead of creating new content I won’t come back.

It’s a bad idea to lock traits behind time gated, multiplayer stuff. It’s absolutely NOT fun to stand around and wait until MAYBE something happens – it’s horrible. I ran around in an area with my new engineer to get a trait and it never popped up – i. e. the NPC you need to talk to never was around. It’s horrilbe bullkitten!!!

I count that as different. But yeah, you can count this as well. You forgot: Alliance Battles, so I count 8, but you can it count 6 if you choose to put TA, RA and HA in one (it’s legit). It’s still a lot more than we have in GW2, right?

Seems a lot of players haven’t played other MMOs then clearly GW2 is lacking a lot of content. I would say it is not even a quarter of content other companies release with an expansion.
Many forget that other MMOs release content without expansion from time to time. This content is on par with the whole content GW2 released so far. So where is our expansion?

Can’t imagine any substantial coming to the game. Maybe 1-2 new (mini-)zones, few bits of casual play story that gets repetitive after doing it once. There will be certainly not be:
- new dungeons/raids
- new classes
- new professions
- new weapons
- more than a couple of new skills
- new campaign/continent
- new PvP modes (really… 1 mode after 2 years, still). Remember GW1 had about 8-10 different PvP modes after two years.
- improvements to the UI (additional slots for bufffood, toys etc?), more options to personalize the UI? gosh REALLY
- improvements to graphics and overall polish (directx9 still…)
- …

Quit about 3-4 months ago and I am happy I did, i read and write in the forums often and it seems getting worse and worse. This game is one of the biggest disappointment in my gaming career – on many level. But at the end it is the management that fails. I feel sorry for the talented devs and writers. It’s a shame what this company had become and I feel sorry – I now go and drown in a sea of tears of nostalgia in Old Ascalon and Shing Jea island…

Wow, even Vayne is on ‘our’ side. Guys, change it, add content and some interesting boss tactics. I recently played a Console shooter MMO (I guess you know what). There is a raid that I did with some others and I just remember how good cooperative gameplay can be with interesting boss tactics AND NO GOD FORSAKEN GEM SHOP!!!!!
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It’s the Microsoft tactic, XBOX Live used to have MS Points similar to the Gems to buy their online stuff. They replaced it after a long time due to complaints and money making.
Fact was: if you bought something for 2000 MS Points you could only buy 2400, so you had 400 left. The idea behind this was that the customer spent the rest for something that wasn’t on their shopping list ‘be cause it’s not that much and I could spend it on something else’.
It’s sad that Anet (or NCSoft?) runs business in this manner. It really saddens me the way this company goes. No content, more and more money making without any substantial content. It’s worse than the worst EA, Ubisoft or Activision business models. They should be ashamed!
Oh, and btw: They said in the patch notes to ‘make it easier to understand’. What a lie! There is nothing more I hate than lies and to think the customer is dumb enough to not find out.

- ‘adding regularly new skills and traits’
- two-week release schedule

I still don’t get it. Other companies talk in detail about an expansion about a year before release, let the palyes go to their test servers about 6-10 months before the release of the expansion and let communicate the community with the devs to even things out.
Here we don’t have any idea what the ‘next big thing’ is. Can’t imagine that’s those small mini updates in form of LS is. That would be ridiculous.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
We are talking about a kittening stupid fashion item. A FASHION ITEM, it’s no use and it’s the pinnacle of casual crap I have even seen, especially that it is one of the most sought after item in this game. Just do some other stuff, will ya? It’s getting ridiculous.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
The whole system is completely BS! There should have been NEVER a market for Precursors. Instead they should be a long term goal that rewards you with an account bound precursor. This could be implemented with a background story and fits perfectly with the scavenger hunt that was told to be in the game about 2 years ago. Also why the kitten are Legendaries even tradable?
The system is broken, and it is be cause to make $$$. There are a lot of players that pay for all the mats and precursors for their legendaries.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Another thing is that there is no unique loot. Every area has the same kind of loot. There are no special areas with special skins like Urgoz or Deep in GW1 with Zodiac skins (yeah we got that as gem store CRAP).
There are also no bosses who drop unique named and cool looking weapons with special features. It’s so boring.

The highest concurrency I saw for Destiny was 853,235 not 3.4 million. http://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Weekly-Update---08012014/en/News/News?aid=12007
That’s the Beta. Here are the actual facts:
Sorry, it’s 3.2 and ‘daily players’ not concurrent. But still nice number. Anyway, it’s not about this game.

Doghouse: I farmed a lot with 7 different classes. Fact is: if you farm with a class or setup (no ZERKER gear) you get less loot, since you contribute less damage. I notied that if I run with my Zerker GS warrior, I don’t need to party up to get a lot of loot from nearly everyone, at least it is very likely to get loot from all ‘tagged’ enemies. If I however run a class with less AoE, less basic DPS and/or with non DPS gear (rarely), I need to party up.
Fact is: if you party up, you get more loot. You don’t need an evidence. It’s true, it is very significant. If you however only run one zerker gear with good overall dps and never tried out something else you don’t ‘know’ this. Simple as that.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Of course they won’t release any statistics be cause they would show how abysmal the game performes compared to the first year. Even the first year numbers were presented in a shady way (max players who played at one moment in this year, oh btw it was something with 400k people, compare this to Destiny: 3.4 million).
Fact is: WoW still holds 6 million people who pay monthly while GW2 is free and is played by a couple of 100k people.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Fact is now, ever since 2014 the content released is not more than the content other MMOs deliver without their expansion packs. They initially claimed to release content every 2 weeks. It is not even near that. If you want people to play your (MMO)-game you need much, much, much more content: new races, regions, continents, story campaings, professions (classes), craftin disciplines (professions), dungeons, raids, factions with reputation and their unique rewards (this one lacks it completely – even GW1 had it). I mentioned it about 100 times and I cannot mantion it more: this game needs CONTENT, ground solid concrete CONTENT for christ’s sake!

I was a pretty experienced dungeon runner and found it extremely hard since the update with the constant spider spawn about 1.5 years ago. Everytime I did it with guild/friends etc. we always avoided this path be cause it was so frustrating. But actually, I only tried it once after the infinite spider update, and maybe we had unexperienced players, but we couldn’t manage it. Since then I avoided this path until they patched it away.

The boss is very easy, maybe you confused the two versions of it, since p2+3 are different (I think, haven’t played since a couple of months).
In the dodge version of the boss, it can happen that the AoE doens’t hit you at all and you can burn down the boss, happened a couple of times. Anyway, usually you have to dodge, but if you have the timing in your head, it’s very simple (unless you have lags).
The other version is even easier, just hug and burn it down. Since stacking is the meta, the ice block gets destroyed in seconds. Just one thing: it’s important that you have the dps, so zerker meta is vital, otherwise it takes too long and your resources deplete.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
There is an offtopic about earning traits on this page: only a small example how terribly bad it is implemented: I created another Engineer just for fun and also to check out the new trait earning system (luckily it was before the NPE).
Now, I just wanted to unlock a Master Trait that need me to finish a certain event in Fields of Ruin. Now, it took first a certain time to find the area where it is, I used an external source. Then the external source told me that it starts with an NPC somewhere in this area. Great, I ran around and ran around for about 30-40 minutes just to find no one (constantly pressing ALT to highlight the NPC names). And that’s it, I couldn’t find it, it was locked behind a timed event that I MAY eventuelly get after a long wait.
WHAT THE kitten. Guys: just do NOT lock such thing behind timed open world group events. It’s a horrible idea. GW1 was instanced and you just could find out where the boss is to capture your skill. IF you do something like this, make it unlockable WHEN and with WHOM I want.
