Some additional things about item quality:
- ascended weapons and trinkets have a pretty nice stat boost compared to exotic
- ascended armor is a very little tiny ridiculous amount better and takes the most time of all the ascended stuff. It simply is just if you are bored or like to have BiS gear.
- legendary items have a nice feature: you can change the stats on it anytime (if out of combat)

Doesnt work. I stopped 2 months for Wildstar. Threw in 3000 gold worth of greatswords and everything that came out of it in again. No precursor.
Got 6150 hours /age on this account and never had a precursor drop outside of mystic forge
6150 hours in 21 months (23 months GW2 minus 2 months of inactivity) nets almost 10 hours a day. TEN HOURS A DAY. What the hell…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It’s very easy to craft to 400. It’s done in about 1-2 hours and you don’t need much gold. Or none if you have the mats.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
As long as you aren’t a WvW commander, Nomad stats is the troll under the stats combinations. Don’t use it. It is just a waste.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I use a combinatino of both. I farm mats mainly in high level zones (lvl 60 – 80) and sell those I don’t need, then I buy other mats. But if you play the game often and have several alts etc. you should have enough to craft to 400. 500 can be a bit rough though.

Still super easy. Even if our dungeon group sometimes lacks the DPS to melt her down in a couple of seconds, we just do it the old school way. If you have problems, maybe try to bring more damage, it shouldn’t take longer than 30 s – 1 min, even if you range her.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Won’t happen, just too much work for free. Rather they add a couple of gem store items.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
They failed at so many fronts: we could do dailies from them, get special PvE only tracking titles with skills or other abilities (like the EOTM titles in GW1). But it seems there is no intent to further develop deeper game design. It’s just always the same gameplay since beta…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Just use several names? This game doesn’t restrict you on just one term… I never had problems.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It’s just a word, don’t focus on this. I just tried to make a difference between a casual and an avid gamer since years. I’d like to hear an answer from you about this topic.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Well, there is a point that all my real life friends were a) never interested in Guild Wars b) left after a couple of hours or c) left after about 3-6 months. Most of those people are avid PC gamers since years that play RTS, RPGs, Hack n Slash etc. They like other games much more, like Diablo or WoW. It just seems that real gamers just find too littel to do. You level up and watch the story, that’s it.
Guild Wars 1 at least had elite areas/dungeons like the UW, FoW and later got Urgoz’ Warren, The Deep and DoA. GW2 has just nothing, I mean literally NOTHING (no I don’t count fractals as an elite dungeon). There NEED to be more substantial content for such players. I like Dry Top, it has a great design, but let’s face it: it’s the only we got after 1.5 years (Southsun Cove) and you have seen the events and achievements in a couple of hours.

I think it’s an extremely silly way to reduce the supply of silk. They punish the player for their own fault: having nothing interesting to craft with silk before ascended. Now they correct it by just doubling the needed amount for a new craft. In fact all the ascended crafting mechanics were made to reduce supply.
And now they don’t want to change it, even the supply/demand is inverted. But it seems it’s the way Anet handels such problems.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
That’s a fact. They simply won’t introduce precursor crafting etc. Actually, they are now very happy with the status quo: they make a lot of real money with players paying hundreds of € and $ to buy the precursor.
And I understand the argument of this woman (whose page is down btw): you don’t have this kitten in subscription based games.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I don’t get it: are all biased manga-maniacs of age of 12 or what? This skin is bland and boring with no interesting details. If there were a Canthan campaign with Canthan armor etc. I may consider such a weapon if it has more detail. But the weapon as it is now is pretty ugly. (Yeah I know it’s my opinion.)
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It just shows that the items are a bit overpriced since other games have those conveniences. But I am generally against VIP-status. It splits the community. Just let it as is. The one who pays has the advantage anyways.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I tried to kill this boss recently and his AoE fear/torment/confusion for about a zillion years debuff every kittenING 15 seconds or so is so kitten annoying. Yes, make such a boss, but kitten make him drop at least a rare item or a chance to get a unique exotic. Why do you never do such things Anet. Otherwise this encounter will be ignored!
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It’s true, I was once in a WoW guild doing an achievement run in an older raid and you had to use a bow or sit emote, don’t remember exactly, you have about 5s to do the command after a certain telegraph and the raid leader was shouting it when we had to do this. Still – there were some players who couldn’t perform this.
It’s true: it seems I come from a time where very fast reaction and hard bosses were just normal (speak: Mega Man, Street Fighter, Castlevania etc.). We live in an era of casual gamers and games get toned down more and more. Just compare vanilla WoW with their hard instances to the faceroll instances now…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It’s just annoying. People run through the enemies anyway, if they want and won’t fight them. Just turn that crap off.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
There are often contested areas and you have to walk for several minutes across the maps (take the Modniir Ulgoth Event chain for example). I run a Guardian and do not have a permanent speed boost. Yes, I could swap my Sword/Focus, GS combo for a Staff for the speed symbol. But really. I don’t want to do this every time, cuz the Staff is not my weapon of choice. Now I have to rely on the two shouts that give me together around 30s speed buffs and wait for 30s for cooldown… It just sucks, that’s why I want a mount (aside from other stuff like: collecting, prestige, style etc.)
‘would of been’ —> wrong
A very old topic. Just want to add this: if you don’t have a trinity and no tank and healer, there is only DPS left.
But Anet can change that. There are a couple of bosses where Berserker and Assassin gear don’t work, i. e. Tequatl who is more like an object you can’t crit, making those gear types negating two of the most powerful stat points (ferocity, precision). I am always super excited when I respec my Guardian to a super massive juggernaut who can’t die. It’s really one of the only parts in the game I can’t finally do something else than DPS with my Berserker gear.
I hope they will do something against this. Also make group buffs party wide, so we don’t have to hug walls etc and make ranged combat viable.

(anet give us new dungeons pls)
^^ Very funny video and a good statement. People are so bored, they do the ‘hardest’ boss in fun mode.
Please Anet, give us new dungeons.

Lol, it’s kinda ridiculous that an item to change your hair style is one of the most expensive items. I am not interested, but if I should get one, I would sell this piece of crap immediately.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
What are nades? Do you mean grenades? Topic: yeah there should be an option to turn off the backpacks. Though it is completely unrealisic – on the other hand it’s a high fantasy game…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
They updated to Dry Top at least? Or do I understand something wrong?
On the other side: I don’t give a kitten on this Atlas. What’s the point in it? We have a map and this additional information – well it’s all in the game. If a lot of people think like me – I don’t know anyone else who uses this Atlas – then they just let it die out.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Sure, it’s convenient. I would buy a Permanent Hair-Style Kit if it was 1000 gems in store. But it seems they make a lot of more money if they put it in the RNG box. I think it’s good though that it’s at a certain cost – especially the total makeover since in my opinion the initial character you choose should be final. I dislike however that exclusive hair styles are behind this money gate instead of just let us choose them in the character creation process. But that’s all the disadvantages of a buy to play model…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I just wonder why a really unimportant item like this hair style kit (WTF are we all 16 year old lipstick chicks) is one of the most expensive items in the game. I changed my hairs once or twice and cost me 250 gems each. Really guys, GET A GRIP!

With the recently released fan made group DPS calculator many had a ranger in a group to max out DPS. So what now? Is the Ranger (Spotter/Frost Spirit) good or not so good?

My SSD got destroyed by playing GW2, replaced and asked a friend. He told me, the SSD is for the operating system only. So I installed it on my Hard Drive. It’s ok. The first time I load LA it takes 30-40s, but after that it takes 10s and other screens take 5 seconds.

It’s really the only MMO I know you can’t do anything – GW1 included. What were they thinking? Also add – FOR GOD’S SAKE – additional bars for mini pets, bufffood, weapons etc… It’s so annoying to always open the god kitten inventory and look for the food, weapon, mini you want to use.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I still wonder what they were thinking, they said it got released at the end of 2013 and now, 8 months later still weren’t able to introduce new legendaries or even crafting. Crafting wouldn’t be a problem – they could’ve introduced it, but I think since they like the income from real money of frustrated people who just buy 200€ worth of gems to buy the precursor, they will wait. I really get more and more annoyed by the omnipresence and importance of this gem shop… Good were the old times where you just had to buy 10-15€ per months in classic MMOs ..yaaaay..

Most skins…( Counts for weapons and Armor ) Are just lacking in originality, and a great design.Alot of skins just don’t look good.Espec for heavy norn, the armours are too bulky, too big,the pauldrons way to oversized and floating above the shoulders. One of the main reasons im either always hiding my shoulders or wear a piece that only shows one pauldron. The last good design was phalanx imo, eventhough for heavy norns yet again…Oversized pauldrons that float above the shoulders…
You finally designed a nice realistic set with a nice leather/steel look to it and what do you do ? You completely ruin that design by slapping overgrown pauldrons on it that don’t even attach to the shoulders. Just because the class is named heavy..that should not mean we shouldnt be allowed to wear slicker armour..We dont have to run around being a Big Bulky Tank with ugly oversized pauldrons slapped on to it,can you seriously please stop desiging your armour this way ?
Its completely out of touch with every other part of the armour your wearing. It makes your head look like a pingpong ball aswell…Who makes these pauldrons ,then slaps them onto a heavy norn and thinks…“WOW that looks really good..i love the floating above the shoulders effect + making my head look like a pingpong ball aswell !”
Seriously..please stop designing your heavy norn armours so bulky..especially the pauldrons…
Huge pouldrons is one of the most awesome features in MMOs. It’s why I always played bulky heavy armored guys. I love it! You see? Tastes are different.

I am on EU servers since the beta. Luckily, I mostly play with my guild. But sometimes I pug and it’s pretty horrible. The AP stuff is one example, then the horrible builds they have. Bearbows AT ALL TIMES. What the kitten, really guys… Once in SE Path 1 I was the ONLY MELEEING, the rest – A 17’000 AP warrior included – was fighting the first golem with ranged weapons. It took us about 5 minutes to kill this ridiculous easy monster and as a Berserker Guardian I got downed about 2-3 times. Which made me looking silly. I really should go with a Hammer build with pugs in the future…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
We don’t have this and it’s a shame. I even tried to go from bloodtide coast to southsun and on the halfway to southsun a popup appears that you can’t go further. This EXTREMELY kills immersion. They really should make a) much bigger zones or b) connected zones without those silly portals. It kills immersion. And other MMOs did that more than 10 years ago…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I totally agree. Fact is: there is no unique reward for certain places; it’s all the same crappy blues and greens scattered over the world. This game lacks area identity: I want to have different music in the zones with different type of enemies, who can drop certain special weapons (i.e. Celestial Weapons in GW1 in certain zones).
Also there is no special reward from bosses. Why don’t we have – with a few exceptions like Tequatl – named weapons with special apprearance from end bosses (Dungeons) in this game?
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Those wings are one of the most silly looking crap items in this game. Looks totally stupid, unrealistic, too fancy, boring, crappy etc. Just imagine a Game of Thrones Character running around with holographic Dragon Wings, WTF? Never understood this hype about those items. But maybe it’s about the underaged manga-bulgy-eyes community.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
About Ascended Armor: it’s 5% stronger. It’s pretty negligible. Stick to Ascended Trinkets and Weapons and you won’t see a big difference. However, if you want to do something and you like crafting, go for it. It takes a lot of time and/or money. You decide.
There is one big plus for Ascended gear: it is account bound – even if you equip it on one character. This means you ckittene your Ascended light amor on your Necro, Ele or Mesmer etc.

In my opinion what they should have done was fastforward the airship with cutscenes + a loading screen and have Zhaitan crash the airship with the party members + a few others evacuating the ship in time and fighting Zhaitan in the lair.
I was about to write pretty exactly this: let the air ship crash and fight Zhaitan in Arah in a last final battle. THAT would have been what I expected.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
The Story Mode is clearly rushed content. The end fight is extremely boring and underwhelming, huge waste of opportunity. Bad work, Anet.
Luckily, they made some better explorable modes in Arah.

The Dragon Ball super Sayian hairstyle is pretty funny. I have it on my main character, a charr guardian. Why not, a bit fun is fine.
I don’t know, but I have no problems with clipping. What’s all the fuzz about?

This enemy goes down pretty fast, don’t know when you play. I am in Europe and play during evening.

Ah the old Guild Wars-mentality of ‘I only want realistic stuff’. I like the fancy kitten. If I want simpe and realistic stuff, I have the reality that surrounds me about 95% of the time.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I bought the 3 precursors for my 3 legendaries. But then I thought I could try it with The Legend. I threw maybe 200 rare staves into the forge and nothing. Then I tried the one thing I really regret: bought 700g worth of exotic staves and threw it all into the forge: nothing. Everything wasted. I just had to save up to 1000 (the then price of The Legend) and bought it off of the TP like I did with the other precursors.
End of story: even after 2.5k hours of play no precursor drop. Nothing from forge. Only wasted money. A guildie gets 6 precursors in 1.5k hours of play. (4 from drops). I just don’t think that this is a solution to make this item valuable. It’s a very bad way to implement Legendary crafting. They should rather make hard quests/content where you can achieve a precursor – I am fine with the rest: Farming and a lot of time needed to create a Legendary is ok. But not plain RNG-luck.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Good job. Especially additional slots / side bars for food, other weapons, minis etc. THIS MUST A kitten BASIC in every MMO!!
I don’t get why they didn’t do that from the beginning – but not even that, after months of UI complaints from the community, nothing changes. It’s really ridiculous.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I totally agree with the OP. The fight with Zhaitan was rushed though, I am sure. It is one of the worst final battles in gaming history.

Yea, you should just unlock it with explorable mode done once on your account. It sucks.

Yeah, Yakkington was only a transport aid :-)
I think lorewise it would be make no sense to just NOT ride any animals. It’s just a bit illogical. Also, why wouldn’t asuras just use their golems? It is already part of the lore. Anyway, it won’t come to this game…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
FFXIV has moutns and waypoints. So the waypoint argument is null. There are areas with a lot of contested waypoints. A mount with 100% speed boost would be awesome for travelling.
WvW-counter argument: just remove it from WvW or give a mount to everyone on entering WvW.
Mounts have nothing to do with WoW. Mounts are pretty standard in many high fantasy games. Just see your argument: I don’t need my Horse in Skyrim, be cause there is fast travelling. Stupid argument.
I just feel a very negative vibe concerning mounts in the GW2-Forum. There is no real counterargument, I assume they fear a WoW-ization of GW2. That’s all.
There are plenty of counter arguments, but pro-mount people ignore them.
1. LORE – there are no mounts in GW lore.
2. We already have speed boosts and don’t need more of them.
3. Mounts have not been designed, so they would be a lot of work and people have interests in other things (Guild Halls, another profession or 2, another Race (come on Tengu!!).
That is plenty of reasons.
People that are pro-mount say:
1. It would be cool.
2. Need speed boost (we have that already)
3. other games have them.
Those are the big reasons and not very viable at that.
1. Lore is something that develops over time. Do you think Akira Toriyama though how Dragon Ball would develop as he wrote the first few books? Besides that: they could ride a Dolyak, it’s possible physically.
2. Not every profession has the same speed buffs. Some have easily accessible signets, others not. It’s not really ‘fair’.
3. Granted. I’d rather have another race or profession. It’s not a high priority.

I more and more think that all the big names (Jeff Grub, Ree Soesbee, Eric Flannum, Jon Peters etc etc.) work for a bigger thing than the living story. I never ever heard something about Eric Flannum and he is still working for Anet it seems. So they DO something, I am sure…
