Does A-net budget utility allocation? There are a bunch of new utilities, even without traits to enhance them, that are clearly over budget. Here’s an example:
Riposting Shadows:
-Cures: Immobilize, Cripple, Chill
-Returns 50 endurance
-Evades
-Stun Break
All of the above for 30 energy. Who comes up with this stuff and thinks, at any level, it is some how balanced?
There’s a laundry list of utilities that need to be chopped up, not just shaved, but chopped up. It’s actually pathetic when you look at some of the older utilities and compare them to the newer ones.

I’ve thought through the implications of removing cele from PvP and what would happen to elementalist quite a bit, actually. It’s pretty risky. I think elementalist would need a new 4 stat combo to be viable at roughly the same level (maybe something like 1050pow/1050condi/560vit/560healing).
Why don’t you guys first look at normalizing health pools? With so many defensive traits available, for all professions, it no longer makes sense that someone with berserker is walking around with 11k health and someone else with 18-19k.
Their cooldowns are extremely long.
- Signet of Renewal – 60 Seconds for a stun break and condition removal which most likely kill the pet VS Signet of Stamina (Removes All Conditions 45 Second CD Untraited)
- Signet of Stone – 80 Seconds for a 6 Second Physical Damage Mitigation VS Endure Pain (60 Second CD, yes its only 4 seconds Physical Damage Mitigation but Also A Stun Breaker)
- Signet of The Wild/Enlargement – 60 Seconds of the Damage Increase, Very Susceptible while Casting VS Dolyak Signet (10 Stacks of Stability, Instant Cast, Stun Breaker)
They have good actives don’t get me wrong
BUT
The Signet Trait Competes with Moment of Clarity.
I think a shave to the CDs will be great even just 10%
OR
Make Clarion Bond a minor, Signet Trait an Adept Major, then Alpha Strike is baseline.

Sounds like you’re forced into a choice. That’s what all traits should be. There should never be an obvious choice on a trait, that is poor design. Unfortunately for the most part, in GW2, there are poor trait choices and the best trait is obvious.
I must be in the minority here. I don’t see what is wrong with this particular match up.
They are assuming that the red team is intentionally attempting to game the system by inviting an amber ranked player to group with 4 high ranked players. The issue being that there are 2 legendary ranked players in that group, which (theoretically speaking) shouldn’t end up matched against an all ruby opponent team.
Well, you have two full pre-mades against each other. Two legendary players, who are already in legendary so they are not gaining much from being grouped with the lower tiered player.

DD S/P and S/D are decent right now. The problem is with the other builds being too strong.
The funny part is Diamond Skin was never considered before, Diamond Skin isn’t OP by itself, the exaggerated condi meta made it strong.
WRONG…people have been complaining about DS for quite some time now.
DS keep it’s immunity to damage causing conditions/damage from conditions and allow us to apply movement impairing conditions as well as blind, vulnerability, and weakness.
Everyone acts like they’re legendary league level players. Is the match making any good? No, but everyone needs to stop acting like they’re good enough to play against the top tier players. If you are, then put a full 5 man together and go out there and grab the status you crave.

Bound for burst and dash for sustain. D/P I would use bound and S/P or S/D I would use dash.

As an fyi S/P and S/D thieves do well against revanants.
This goes back to the bigger issue of passive abilities in general. There are too many fail safe abilities in the game and I’m relatively sure they’re there to keep the average player from getting frustrated with the game. Get stunned? No need to have any reaction time and use an ability the game will do it for you. Almost dead? Don’t need to worry about using an invulnerability, block, or heal the game will do it for you. All of that needs to be fixed, not just one trait.
Stop dc’ing…extra characters
Instead of proposing power creep, I might suggest nerfs for the top tier classes – in my opinion, they should either be tanky, or have excellent damage, but not both.

You want to nerf the only counter to the foulness that is Mallyx rev? No, thank you. We actually need more hard counters to condis.
The problem is that these extremes also hurt those builds which have a major reliance on minor conditions. You could make it immunity to damage causing conditions to tone it down, but I would like to land my immobilize every now and again.
CD should start after the trap has been activated and not placed. Give them the option to destroy traps if to initiate the CD.

Traps? What would be the reason to take a ranger with no stunbreaks over a necro/engineer which has more repeatable AoE damage and utility?
By the way, neither traps nor BM take more skill than spirits, so hop down off your high horse. In fact, BM ranger is one of the most mechanically easy builds in the game to play, either clerics or settlers.
Traps = lay them down on point, reapply immediately after enemy steps in them. Such skill. Wow.

Zerker Hambow builds are not ridiculous, they are just perceived to be. These decisions were made based on play experience and what players have located counters for.
So what you really want to say is “our rules were determined by our bias of what we perceive to be OP and don’t want to see played.” Don’t get me wrong, its fine if that is how you decide to do the tournament, but just blanket banning amulets doesn’t get rid of tanky builds. Stats alone don’t make you tanky.
That’s true but the amulets do play a significantly large part. We don’t want boring matches. That’s just what we’re trying to avoid.

Locust swarm deals pretty great damage from all of the life steal ticks and also lets you keep up deathshroud far longer from the constantly ticking crits.
Reaper’s touch is big burst and spinal shivers is invaluable.

What you’re asking for makes perfect sense. The only problem is, that it is years in the making with this company (even if it is on the list).
People need to stop assuming that others don’t know how to play. Comments like l2p are the laziest form of “advice”. It’s just short of moral posturing. Never presume that someone can’t play unless they admit it themselves.
There is no better proof in not knowing how to play this game than finding a way to not score a single point.

They have already given you their opinion. The map is still in rotation, that’s why they think. These are those classical moments where a company is being told, by its consumers, their likes and dislikes. The laugh comes in play when people don’t continue playing and the developers have to answer the question, of why did people drop the game…

Ignoring the fact that purchasing so many character slot expansions is pushing the boundaries of the reasonable… Why should they refund your items? You payed for a service that was delivered to you, with which you were satisfied.
Anyways why would the ability to unlock traits/buying transmutation stones mean that you cannot play on all of your characters anymore? From what it seems to me you looked at your character menu and thought. “Huh I have WAY too many characters. I wish I hadn’t bought all of them.” And now it seems like you are just using these new traits as an excuse to get your money back after purchasing a product (Character expansions) that you no longer want.

Because across 30 plus characters I would need to unlock traits/charges to even play the same characters I had previously. I did not purchase them knowing they were going to have to be unlocks.

I didn’t buy those slots with the intention of having to keep unlocking things. I bought it under the advertised premise I previously posted.
Why am I being told that I am not due for a refund for character slot purchases? I’m being told to be more careful when I purchase items with gems. I purchased character slots based on the information which A-net provided, which was:
“The addition of new skills and traits on a regular basis will of course mean expanded variety of abilities, builds, and tactics in PvP as well. As these additional skills and traits are added, they’ll be automatically unlocked and available for competitive PvP just like all existing skills/traits work today.”
I have no intention of unlocking traits on all 30 plus of my characters nor am I willing to purchases charges to transmute into wardrobe gear for those characters that I already spent the time to unlock. Please remedy this.
