No this isn’t an l2p issue. The same story is coming up repeatedly. I lost 30 in a row last night/this morning. At least one other poster cited a record of 1 for 29. Multiple other players overnight told me they had 20+ losses.
I’m sure there are ton of people on here who can state the opposite of what you are experiencing. They are being teamed up with people who play at their level, but matched up against people in their division range. You’re going to be playing against people who are a lot better than you (if you’re losing that often).
As long as there is a trade off for the durability than it should be fine. Tempests give up any real damage potential to run clerics. Along with low hp, it’s pretty easy to focus them down when they are out of earth attunement. Scrapper on the other hand, that’s a whole other fish to fry. I think the pacing of the game is much better.
There’s another possibility that most aren’t willing to accept…
And it also counted as a loose because I lost my winning streak bonus after it
You deserve it, simply for spelling loss as “loose”.
All I’m getting from this is, “A-Net, make the system win for me”.
Another thing to consider is that the majority of builds have their own source of swiftness/movement enhancement runes/traits.
I can’t think of a single build that doesn’t.
It’s because they have 2 people, a stapler, a trash can, and an empty shoe box working on pvp. We have all said it a million times. Great combat system, everything else has been and will continue to be terrible.
I blame a certain somebody, he knows who he is, I’m not allowed to say his name on the forums anymore.
It seems like my change didn’t make it with this build so it will be going out soon in a hotfix. Also Crusader will be removed at the same time.
What change?
Immediately after the conclusion of PvP League Season 1, we removed several PvP amulets from rotation because they pushed gameplay in a direction that we weren’t happy with. These amulets were then replaced with four new four-stat amulets, none of which has either Toughness or Vitality as a primary stat.
In keeping with the intended trend of aligning four-stat amulets, we also are planning to remove the Vigilant Amulet from rotation for the start of Season 2, as it currently features a primary stat of 1050 Toughness in addition to its other stats.
We are posting these details now to let players know about this plan in advance of the start of Season 2 so that they can adjust their builds accordingly. PvP League Season 2 begins on February 23, 2016.
When are you guys planning on releasing the other balance notes? I’m especially curious about the nerfs to scrappers.
“I sat in melee auto attacks and died, everything is wrong, I played perfectly.”
1. Thieves cant truly one shot anything. You’re looking for a shatter Mesmer or Gunflame warrior.
2. Maybe they’re everywhere because thief was essentially banned last season. I guess that thought process is too complicated.
Thieves can certainly global other berserker/marauder builds. I’m not saying it is over the top, I think it’s in a decent spot. If a thief messes up, it’s fairly easy to punish them. The one thing that, imo, is a little too much is with the AA damage increase it has become too easy to headshot spam with pulmonary impact.
Why is culling still an issue with stealth?
5 vs 2-1-1-1 is still allowed. The cutoff for roster size differences is configurable, but it is entirely possible that match quality and queue times would not be acceptable at all ladder positions if the acceptable spread were smaller.
Honestly Evan is not acceptable going against a full premade in 2-1-1-1 or with another unbalanced roster size.
Can you explain why like soloer i should lose 1 pip or interrupt my win streak if this happens?
If 5 people realize they have a long queue, they go in smaller grp size, easy, and if they want to train like full premade they organize games with other full premade, like every other decent team in this game do.
Full premade against a soloer or semi soloer is not training, is pure farming.
At least i would add 2-1-1-1 config with 1-1-1-1-1
with 2-2-1 or 3-1-1 or 3-2 you have a bit better coordination (it’s not like a full premade ofc but is a bit better).
They need to come up with an incentive for more teams to be complete 5 man teams. Right now, outside of tournaments, there is no real incentive to join up and maintain a complete 5 man roster.

From what I understood, you will lose 1 pip whether you lose 0-500 or 499-500 in a match. In other words, in a PuG party once you’re down by ~100 points its a GG for your team since there would be no benefit of making the match close anymore.
Another thing is that people may abuse by taking advantage of desertation system by either:
1) Helping their friend in the party by d/c’ing on purpose so that the team doesn’t lose pips.
2) Taking gold in exchange for the sane favor.Would love to hear from you regarding this.
I believe if you are partied with the dc, you too lose a pip.
Ok let me cancel out my ISP contract for a roughly 3 minute DC a day
Yeah, so everyone that teams with you should suffer because your craptastic connection? Play in hotjoins until it stabilizes of continue on with the hour dishonor. This mentality that everything in the world needs to cater to the needs of one person is nuts. Fix your stuff or don’t join ranked/unranked.
Get a different ISP or if it is always once a day during peak hours, please play hotjoins until it stabilizes.
on a sidenote, am I the only occasional oddball that actually likes stronghold?
It’s not balanced enough. The concept is fine, but players basically broke it by using team work.
Also NPCs suck in PvP. I hate all NPCs.
They need to force players to utilize more of the map. The idea is good, but the execution was poor. It still has potential, much in the same way courtyard had potential to be an arena type map for DM.
You need more secondary objectives that allow teams to break one teams hold on a point. If you’re looking to only maintain a “fight on circle” style of game play then you may as well convert over to a DM style of gaming. There’s multiple reasons why Foefire is the default map for a majority of ranked matches. Obviously, the large center node, but also the come back potential of the secondary objective.
Now you’re just listing things…
Did you also know that:
1. Using your heal counters DH traps
2. Using cleanse counters reaper
3. Being on the other side of the map counters scrapper
4. Not logging in counters thieves
5. Being in HoTM counters ranger pets
6. Cash counters CC
Mercenary amulet with mace/shield, hammer, with distracting strikes and body blow is far stronger. Hybrid condi-burst with chain cc and 3-4k crits on hammer. With berserker stance, signet of stamina, and lyssa runes you shut down necros in team fights.
To each their own. From my experience a build with no mobility is not good build at all. Hammer Berserker Burst skill is garbage and lyssa runes are trash.
Warriors Sprint is movement enough and your purpose is to burst/shut down necros. Lyssa serves its purpose in your role. If you’re not looking to lock out necros then running krait is a great alternative, even then mace/shield and hammer is a strong combo.
They need to first start with detaching the weapon from the trait lines.
And not to mention transfusion itself rezzes 24% of all those 5 targets when fully channeled. So yeah buff S&R plz. Im not saying it is better, but it has uses as well. D is i mention that transfusion can be used as heal skill as well so that those allies wont go down in first place…and it does good dmg as well.
I would take search and rescue over transfusion any day. The 1200 range port is worth it alone.
transfusion is up to 5 targets….while S&R is one, closest person….
Which would you rather have a 1200 teleport with 2 functional ressers or a 600 teleport for up to 5 people with 1 functional resser?
A fair comparison is to transfusion.
- Both teleport downed allies.
- Transfusion is 40 second long and SnR is 45 second long.
- Tranfusion require a blood magic trait while SnR require a utility slot.
Transfusion is terrible and is 600 units compared to 1200. That’s not even close to an appropriate comparison.
I can tell you exactly “what is up” with Condition build Mesmers like me. ANET has made most of the other builds and Chronomancer into very poor choices.
While it’s true that PU condimancer tends to attract a lot of QQ on forums, there really aren’t many good alternatives. You can expect to see a lot more of this style play.
It’s not PU condi Mesmer. It’s Dueling, Illusions, Chronomancer. You can run s/p and staff, s/t scepter/shield, or s/p scepter shield. If you run pistol you take Duelists Discipline.
It’s a pretty strong build.

Anything pretty much works now. You’re going to run into trouble with scrapper, reaper, and revenant. Of all the broken builds, scrapper is the worst. Even with core builds everything is a toss up except for scrapper and in some cases reaper. Scrapper is the no child left behind build/profession of this season. Anyone can pick it up and do well with it. You don’t even need to know how to play it.
This was happening after the build release from last night. They probably borked something else up when the fixed CoR.
I’m not trying to be that guy, but this is the standard d/f with menders replacing cele.
Reading most of this makes me want to headbutt people.
It’s another terrible attempt at updating skills. There wasn’t anything wrong with the skill as it was previously. This version is over the top.
Nothing wrong with the previous SnR skill?
Lol. I don’t think you actually played the previous SnR skill before.
Outside of the cd, please enlighten me. Unlike you, I did play with the skill.
No you did not. If you did, you would know its garbage.
I’m 100% certain I know what traits I use when I play.
why is snapcast allowed in PvP ?
Another terrible design choice by the A-Net team.
Want to fix matchmaking?
-Separate solo and pre made queues.
-Match strictly on tier rating
-If time threshold is exceded match with lower tier and remove opposing teams penalty for loosing.Presto, matchmaking solved.
Everything was good until you went with “loosing”.

Too bad you couldn’t just use the tomes of knowledge, at max level, and have it grant a hero point.
i’m speechless. it’s definitely one of the worst attempts at improving a skill i’ve ever seen. now we can be blinded, immobilized, feared, and kited all day even more so than before. thank you, arenanet for ‘improving’ the skill.
Agree…fight vs necro its a nightmare right now. You can’t absolutely make anything against condy/corrupt spamming.
Let’s continue this trend. Excellent idea for improvement Endure Pain now!
Lets change physical absorb effect on 5 sec protection! Arena net?
Condi/cc warrior should have the upper hand against the standard necro builds. They are usually only running plague signet as their stun break. They either get cc’d to death if they don’t plague, or they use plague on cc and then get condi bombed. Running lyssa, sig of stam, and berserker stance should put you ahead of the condi transfers. It’s usually a quick fight one way or the other.
Im getting kinda tired awnsering this question over and over again.
Chill and slows stop that, as about half of this thread is trying to explain. The only way to get reliable condi clear is to trait for it and sadly the only condi clear we have are all on defensive traitlines.
My current build works because i can spec into 3 traitlines that are all pretty offensive traited. But they have 0 possibilities for me to clear condi. In my opinion ANY form of DPS with ele is nullified by this alone. You are forced to take at the very least earth or water to get some condi clears going. The problem here is you’re assuming you should be able to get away with taking 0 defensives and still be able out sustain people.
Elementalists have the capabilities to handle reapers. You have the ability to kite, and reaper’s ability to apply chill at range is lackluster, and could easily be handled by taking any number of cleanse options a ele has available.
You simply choose not to.
To turn your argument around, your argument is equivalent to me running a power necro build with no chill or boon corrupts and complaining that eles are OP.
Out of curiosity, how do you think an ele is going to kite a reaper and to what end?
How do you farm Hero points normally?
You guys are just getting trolled. The OP is just trying to make a point that scrapper is strong. Anyone who plays the game knows reaper > scrapper. It’s a hard counter.
yup. scrapper spam boons but reaper will just keep on corrupting them.
And then scrapper just cleanses them…get out, necro isn’t a hard counter to scrapper.
A lot of this is based on 1 v 1’s, but the real test will be how they function in organized team settings.

I mean how can you play a berzerker class with 10k base hp and cloth armor when thieves, revenants, and mesmers exist.
I don’t understand how this issue still hasn’t been addressed.
hi I have been having issues with landing number 2 staff
please increase radius or range or whatever and improve make it evade or something ty
You want to make it evade? Might as well throw on an invulnerability to it as well. While we are at it, we may as well add an evade to all of the abilities including the AA.
Can it work? No, next question. It amazes me that it received no buffs in this balance pass. How many devs do they have working on balance anyway.
They are grossly understaffed.
Look to my thread for more then 1 year.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Chill-equally-effective-against-all-classes
As you might see I voiced the theme quite long time ago, did ANet do anything about it, no, will ANet do something about it, probably not.
We have to sux for a year in the state that we are.
It’s all because of Grouch. He knows what he did. I would like to tell you it’s Karl’s fault, but he doesn’t know any better. He just likes making sound effects with his mouth.
ya a lot of this is purely ur subjective opinion and downright wrong at times
rofl…what a statement to make. I just can’t even.
it would greatly help warrior if warrior players learnt how to play, warrior wasnt that bad before and now he’s absolutely fine
Enlight us! Show us your skilled warrior gameplay, cuz we are too dumb after 3 years of warrior only to not be able to find a way to play this class in a competitive level.
well since you ask so nicely, ill start with general advices: for most people years of playing dont mean much since they are just copying builds and playstyles without thinking or realizing most of the time the depth of their classes
second, elite specs greatly shifted the playstyle of some classes and warrior is one of those, for instance dont expect to get carried by spamming 1k blades under quickness and weapon swapping anymore as it did for the past 3 years so even if you somehow managed to acquire some experience it doesnt mean much and you have to start learning anew
there are actually already flying around some pos builds for a hybrid condi/damage warrior that work good enough
the reason im so harsh on you is that i still didnt see any warrior running a build around sword/sword and that disappoints me greatly
Condi/CC warrior is pretty good. The question is, can it fit into a meta comp. It’s strong in 1 v 1’s especially against necros.
D/D ultimately gets destroyed by D/P thieves running Impacting Destruction. Your casts are far too long and all that happens is the thief will auto attack and head shot on anything you do.
The rewards in this game have always and will continue to be absolute garbage. To expect anything else is to set yourself up for disappointment. More boxes in boxes please.
If we were to head into a condi heavier meta I’d have a slightly different build for that (which I might post if the need arises).
The two builds that have been very effective have been the ham/lb you posted and similarly dropping Valor for Honor and picking up pure of voice and running soldiers runes with 2-3 shouts.
This continued mindset is quite perplexing. Honestly, if you aren’t competing at the highest level of premade team vs team then you can run a lot of various builds (including core) and do well. In the current state of how the queue system works, it isn’t mandatory that you run meta builds.
