Wow, this is ridiculous, all the traits, skills, weapons, armour, trinkets and uppgrade components are supposed to stack on each other and be mixed to suit different play styles not have one skill or trait obliterate targets with obvious ease.

Have you guys not noticed that everything that gives an attribute increase (armour, sigil, trinkets and traits) is almost equal which allows you to mix and match without the typical mmo hybrid gimps.

Starting with Daecollo, for the love of gawd necros already have 7 minions to work with, 8 including jagged horror. You say the horror is useless, do you even realize how many seconds that thing actually distracts mobs for. For every second mobs are not focused on you, your minion summonings are cooling down giving you time to move around and avoid damage and take it no problem with (and please note) LIFE FORCE.

You say shrouded removal is….I dont even understand your complaint with shrouded removal. necros have about 4 ways (if not more) to remove conditions. Dagger offhand, a mark and 2 traits. When stacked together, you can so very easily bounce back conditions sent at you. All necro builds can be affected by conditions so it isnt for just one build.

The 400 toughness channelling trait works on ALL chanelling skills, which are axe no 2 skill and dagger no 2 skill if im not mistaken, both of these can be used in any build. Its limited now as someone else mentioned but do you not think that maybe there will be more in the future?

For some of the fellows here that keep trying to mess with a particular trait because it doesnt seem useful, forget what you know from other MMOs the skills here are supposed to combine with each other then you are supposed to actually know how and when to use them and when not to. That is the whole point.

There are 3 basic builds:
The condition-mancer
The power-mancer
The minion master

If you are using a pure condition build , you are talking about using skills, traits, armour and weapons that stack conditions and conditions only. Stack the traits that help you deal more condition damage while able to survive because conditions deal slow damage.

If you are using the minion master, mix up the traits. I’m not sure what problems people are having with minions. If you arent using a ground targeting well healing skill then ofcourse your minions will die. If you arent spamming the “Mark of blood” then ofcourse they will die. If your life transfer isnt healing minions then maybe you should look into that. If you are not stacking vulnerability on targets so minions can kill faster or if you arent using the power trait to increase their damage then im not sure why you are posting suggestions.

If you are using a powermancer then you have to know how to actually play because this build is very entertaining and very difficult to use, if you are having problems with the other 2 builds, dont even attempt this one.

The beauty of Anet’s set up is these builds can actually be mixed, so you can have a power and condition necro mix to do really nice damage (this is what you should be using in WvW not minions O_o). In other mmos trying to be any sort of hybrid will make you suck at both, not in GW2.

For a game like GW2 i fail to see how a single player can think about making a change to one specific class without considering ever other tiny aspect of the game. At this point in the game, if it isnt a bug being pointed out, make suggestions that actually build on the game design not change it :{

The values are averaged, so on average after say 100 attacks that is expected damage multiplier on your attacks.

Like the example states, “a character with 20% critical chance and 5 critical damage will deal approximately 11% more damage”, so the column has 1.110.

Of course there is the matter of high-damage attacks procing crits, such as LifeBlast, Bone minion detonation and Frozen Abyss. Such attacks have a high base damage which when multiplied by the crit damage can deal some really big numbers.

I suggest looking at your build and picking crit chance if you have high burst and crit damage if you have long sustained attacks.
I run 42% crit chance with 57% crit damage, but I also use the half DeathShroud cooldown trait with the 15 point curses minor for near-permanent fury, which bumps my crit chance to 62%.

Bro, you use DeathFlash? :O thats what ive been using, its such a nice combe, the only issue i have with it is the damage. I decided to go with full power and precision traits and 10 into soul reaping cuz the damage is more. To compensate for the fury i use 3 runes of the citadel with 2 rune of the eagle. Puts me at 54% without fury. The logic is when i need fury it will be against alot of mobs and chances are the rune of the citadel will kick in. I will probably go back to the other style though cuz its so much more fun.

wow guys…comparing the minion build with that of other classes? Necromancer already has 3 builds its able to use, all of which is able to survive better than other classes; the minion build, powermancer and conditionmancer. If you are using pure minions then be prepared to heal them. What ever build you use, you have to know your limit. you can’t do things like take a minion build to WvW and hope to do anything sensible. You cant go into a mass of mobs with a minion build and not use a staff and ground target wells.

Lets think about these suggestions
No minion deaths
No cast time
Short minion skill CD

are you serious or do you not realize necros already have the most hp in the game PLUS life force with the ability to cast fear, blind, chill, bleed and poison very easily, heal very well not to mention the ability to transform to gain even more health . Ability to inflict vulnerability very very easily , ability to turn invisible (norns), ability to gain life force so easily that if you really wanted to you wont lose hp below 70%. Necros can pretty much do everything all the other classes can do with varying effectiveness, but yet you simply want more? :{ . Did you already forget that the game is supposed to rely on the player’s skill not the toon?

Minions are really strong in sPvP large zerg-fest situations because they just run around in full-berzerk mode, attacking whatever is nearby; yes sometimes they screw up, but it is generally rare for that to cause any decent difference. You get such high scores because minions end up just attacking everything and therefore you get credit for a lot of kills that you may or may not have really done much about.

But anyway, if you go all toughness/vit/power with minions, using d/wh (or d/d), a/f (or staff), with consume conditions or well of blood for healing (healing minion CAN work, but its hard, isn’t guaranteed, and ups your micro managing by way too much), and then ranged minions, bone minions, and golem, you can act as a very strong node defender/bunker. Switching between both weapon sets and making sure to make use of any/all CC you have, stack as much vulnerability as you can, and MM builds can do really well, unless you run into a hard counter (heavy AoE, some mesmers).

The build isn’t as OP as it was in beta, where you could 3v1 and roflstomp people, but it is still strong if you play it well. Just don’t expect it to be easy.

nice build, the 9k hit floored me but your skill and trait choices are a bit off if you dont mind me saying. This power build will have issues in places like Citadel of Flame explorable because of the lack of Aoe control.

The build i use is able to very easily survive the the mass of mobs while trying to defend Maggs while dealing alot of dmg in CoF path 2, so much better than i dreamt possible. In fact it seems more of a tank canon build than anything.

Also the damage is about the same as what you posted except the 9k crit with axe since there is no need to stack vulnerability using a power build in pve. Actually trying to stack vulnerability with axe is part of what reduces your personal dps. I use an axe but not rlly for vulns except against a veteran mob.

Wait i may have read something wrong. you are saying increase mats drop and reduce item drops. Either way economy will be affected, prices will probably drop in tp since there will be an increase in supply and a drop in demand. Getting armour wont be very rewarding, and overall it still doesnt improve but makes things complicated. It already takes a while for the economy to form a picture for A net so they can make other changes that directly or indirectly affect it. Turning things upside down now doesnt help anyone.

You already said most of this anyway in your OP. They are more than enough reasons not to do anything with mats drop rate even though It would be nice for people like me who don’t craft.

Also dropping the craftable item drop rates and increasing materials for craft doesnt increase the value of the item being crafted because it wont be difficult to craft items or hard to get the materials. Two reasons why things like the legendaries are so expensive but don’t really help anyone except make them look “cool”

There are people who dont craft and there are people who craft, best to leave it that way. Changing crafting mechs will mess with the economy.

Making crafting unnecessary keeps the prices low encouraging people to use real money to buy gold to buy stuff. Making craft necessary would only increase the prices on tp and probably discourage people from spending real money to get gold to buy that gear they really want for example.

Those who dont have real money to spend or just dont want to, craft and make their money to buy the stuff they want.

The suggestion is interesting but doesn’t really improve anything, only complicates matters.

The shocking thing is one would think signet of undeath would be so nice to have so much of (like 3 necros in Arah) but no, in the end its either the necro wouldnt be paying attention to partys hp or use it when player is already dead thinking it is a resurrection skill and in some cases they arent even using it at all. Twice iv run arah with 3 necros (including myself) and twice the run fails.

In guild wars 2 theres nothing like Tank, DPS and Healer, only Damage, support and control. All classes are able to do all three (some better than others)

Equipment swap. It must have been mentioned before. I mean most of us at level 80 have multiple sets, its already inconvenient enough to have to switch traits with gear. Would be nice if there was a one button gear swap and gear in the swap space didn’t take inventory space

Please tell me i am blind, or did i just read that you think dungeons was built to not not need exotic gear based on Arah story mode?

Here’s some perspective:
-Go watch some dungeon solo videos. There have been some like Elementalist and Necromancer soloing AC or Warrior and Elementalist soloing Arah.

-They can do alot of damage but they are squishy as kitten…and they have to be in order to kill a boss with that much HP and NOT take hours doing so.

-A party can have 3 or even 5 players doing a fraction of that amount of damage and beat these dungeons 5x as fast.

To add that all up: If you’ve got 5 members dishing out as much damage as a dungeon soloer, you can kill a boss 5x faster than them but that is usually never the case because if you don’t know how to survive, you just die faster. It takes both damage AND survival to win. If you’re low on damage because you’re in green or blue gear, that just means you have more opportunities to study the boss’s attacks.

Basically, rare/exotic just lets you finish dungeons faster, not a requirement to success.

Come to think of it, i didnt get exotic gear till i had done Arah for about a month. I was using rare gear, i dont think i even changed my traits to survivability during that time. I am a necro which counts for a lot, we can go in there with fine gear and still not die. For warriors, guardians and elementalists, i cant say for certain but i highly doubt they can easily avoid dying without exo gear. Then again i havent used those classes yet.

I wouldnt say it is a requirement (depending on experience and skill) but i would say it is highly recommended, especially for melee heavy classes. I say this because the number of times i see alot of people die especially in Arah is very odd. It could mostly be because they simply dont use the class properly or they are over obsessed with doing damage and keep attacking mobs that have 70% with 20% hp

I’ve done AC and CoF on 2 characters (4 runs each) since the patch and haven’t had an issue yet. If you aren’t running exotics and superior runes you should feel bad for wasting your parties time.

This is just ridiculous, if you are only able to do dungeons in full exo you re doing something wrong , the way the game is designed you can ever go naked & still finish the dungeon.

I have actually done it with my exguildies, we were learning the ropes in arah story (first dungeon we entered ) mind you it was at realese = all buged & all hited like a truck,the boss wich spawn the grubs , the wrath thingy & gargoyle were done all with no gear we were sick of wasting gold on repairing + we had not a clue about builds ( random filing points) & we were all in greens & blues, we cleared almost all of the dungeons in blues & greens. we had no idea you could get gear from tokens , we actualy deleted tokens as we tought they were some x stuff for M Forge. Leveling profesions at that time was wery wery slow due to drop rates. That is it, it cane be done due to dodge mechanic = avoid 100% of dmg, & i have done it. Those are my basis.

First of all, if dungeons are going to be harder, THERE NEEDS TO BE VOICE CHAT TO COORDINATE. Second, what i didn’t understand about this game is the serious lack of class roles.
What the changes should be doing now is making everyone step back and think about what role they should be playing in a party. No more of that nonsense with geared level 80 necros not using Signet of Undeath and not watching party hp. No more sheer ignorance of guardians doing a warriors job trying to do dps when what they should be doing is staying defensive and blinding as much as possible and giving Aegis as much as possible.

As a necro i now know full well that i MUST change my traits to support mode and use a staff as well as using D shroud properly, not wait for hp to be at 20% to use it. There are ways to get out of combat to heal, if your hp is low and you have no healing left, do that and not rush with 10% hp hoping for a miracle (this happens all the time and ends up jeopardizing the party, very annoying)

I believe we can make this work if we thought more about class roles instead of just running for rewards.

it looks like the way the dungeons are set up now, necro is a must have. I am using full exotic and right now messing with support skill combos, so if you need a run, whisp me and if im not busy i should be able to help.

If the dungeon is below level 80, then i will need some payment :p

Gone are the days 5 warriors is all it takes to clear a dungeon.

I forgot to clarify some things. Yes i understand the sigil will only work when the weapon it is on is active and yes i understand using 2 of the same sigils will share the same cooldown. What im asking is if having 2 superior blood sigils active at the same time will raise the proc rate from 30-60%. Gummi bear you are saying it doesnt go to 60% but 39%?? how? where did the factor come from?

The third question about sigil of leeching, if 2 are on off hand and main hand, will the hp gotten from swapping to them and hitting be doubled?

Will equipping two sigils of blood (main hand and offhand) stack ? Sigil of blood steals health on crit 30 of the time. will using 2 change it to 60%?

When using sigil of demon summoning, will the stacks reset after the 26th stack?

When using sigil of restoration, will I gain double the hp on each kill when using two of them (main hand and off hand)

Will superior sigil of leeching on both main hand and off hand give double hp after swap and hit?
