That’s not an error, that mean it’s a skin that you can apply to your armor, so you have to get armor and then apply the skin to that armor to use it.

As long as they’re still rewards for map completion i’ll be fine with it. I personally like that you don’t need the crystals to transmute level 80 armor now. We get less charges for our free stones as opposed to our payed stone but we gain the ability to transmute level 80 armor for free. It’s a good tradeoff IMO.

  • Mordremoth just woke up too, and unlike what you said Sundar, we have no indicationt hat Mordremoth (or its champion) is the entity, so we can’t say it scared Scarlet. However, thanks to Scarlet it’s being given a LOT of magic via the ley line, and the Maguuma Jungle holds not only a Bloodstone, but other ancient magics.

Correct me if my correction is incorrect (:D) but don’t we learn at the end of the LS that Scarlet’s ley line drilling disrupted the flow of magic, which caused Mordremoth to stir, not feeding it more as was assumed.

But that is the cycle. Dragon eats magic, dragon goes to sleep, dragon expels magic, after enough energy is expelled dragon wakes up, and then dragon starts eating magic. Maybe that was the solution to deal with the dragon, it was put to sleep there, on a constant stream of magic that it then expels and that because the same magic it eats, never waking up because it never expels enough magic.

Have you ever seen a newbie mesmer stand right up next to the enemy, use the GS auto, and then complain it’s such a weak weapon? I die a little inside everytime I see that.

Some players are bad. I have more examples if you require.

We can’t really call that though. For all we know the krait’s prophet was a krait that did the same sort of thing the spirits of the wild did for the norn and told them to flee to the surface. We know the elder dragons want to hide the fact that they can even be fought against. Maybe they just thought it was hopeless because as krait do, they probably tried to fight alone. After that they had the orb, who knows where they got that (We could really use more information on the orb), why would they be scared knowing that Zhaitan can’t touch them?

Maybe bubbles is just a lot more hands on than Zhaitan was. Zhaitan was all about using his minions, maybe bubbles goes out himself and destroys villages. If Zhaitan flew out and blew hoelbrek away, he might seem a little more intimidating than Kralkatorrik who people are known to have fought and survived.

A lot of world bosses need a buff before the SB really. the claw and the shatterer could use a big buff but really they need to buff all the world bosses at the same time if they buff any of them.

The Claw is in a good place except when the boss train just overwhelms the fight. If you don’t have a critical amount of people, it’s really hard, and the mechanics are fairly interesting compared to all the other bosses. If you’ve never tried it with about 8 people, I highly recommend it. He might be my favorite world boss.

The Shatterer is in such a bizarre place. The only fix it needs is to be able to attack to his side, then the fight would function as intended (at least until people got used to how his mechanics are supposed to work and broke him again.)

I play on Jade Quarry, there are no 8 people boss fights. The server has always been 70+ people at a boss since day one.

And no, the SB was never meant to be fought by a level 80, that’s what the downscaling is supposed to do, make it so we have the stats we would normally have around that level. I mean I do understand that it takes into account our armor which is much better than what we could have actually had around that level, but it should limit us so we’re actually at level 14 stats and then the level 14 fights would be a challenge. Doing so would require a complete overhaul of the scaling system but it would make balance better in the future for both upscaled and downscaled characters, plus it would fix the queensdale champ train at the same time because the champs would no longer be as fast to take down.

While it would take time it wouldn’t actually be hard to do. Just have the game detect the armor we’re wearing and cap the stats our armor gives us at what we would have at that level, or the closest tier we could wear and have it give us the closest rarity at that level and it’d be pretty easy to do, you just have to compare stats. So going from my level 14 example. A level 80 in exotic berserker gear would have their armor stats capped at the level 10 crafted blue gear that gives power as its stat. While a level 14 in level 10 whites upscaled to 80 would get the equivalent to the level 80 whites from a merchant.

Is it suppose to be this difficult?

If you die too much in a dungeon you’ll be punished by being kicked out of the dungeon.

Outside of a dungeon players already have to pay the waypoint cost and walk back. Which depending on what zone you’re in, can already be annoying. You know what originally made me not want to die as much? It wasn’t having to pay armor repair costs. It was not having to kittening walk across brisban wildlands for the 3rd kitten time. I hate that map and never want to set foot in it again (also the area the next LS is taking place apparently so yay for me).

Trust me, it’ll work fine.

I am not worried about walking out my door, falling down the steps, and hitting every step on the way down today. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen, or doesn’t have as high a likely hood to happen as other things. That also doesn’t mean it cant kill me as easily as someone with a gun but you still call the guy with the gun more dangerous.

Though like said above on april 15th transmutation stones will turn into charges at a 3:1 ratio (3 stones = 1 charge) that can be used on level 80 armor and weapons.

Yes but all the zones are locked in time. The krait in the sylvari starter zone are from before than ever happened. We never saw anymore krait between when that happened and when Zhaitan died. The centaurs arn’t beating on the door of divinity’s reach like they were at the start of the game, but the zones don’t change to reflect that. That story keeps going as you go through the zones.

Hell Orr is still infested with risen that apperently keep rising even after Zhaitan died. All the zones are locked in time and you have to understand what happened in what order.

Hey now you know how we feel when us who have been playing since head start didn’t get a single precursor drop and then they changed world boss chests to once per day to limit how fast precursors and exotics came into circulation.

Also a year and a half later, still no precursor drop.

I’m still pretty sad about that change, even though I gave up attempting that method after killing too many dragons and bosses to count and getting… I think the best was an exotic worth two gold or so.

It’s also why I feel like Legendaries and their components should be a little less luck based. (Though for most there’s places to go farm the stuff but… farming mats that drop less often than rares is… just… so… not… fun… in any capacity… I’d rather do something with friends that’s fun, engaging, entertaining and worth my time to get the items, at least then it’d feel like a fun journey and less of a “bash 1 constantly for hours upon hours” thing).

I know how you feel. I mean I want a legendary weapon, but the hours to farm just the precursor alone. and I don’t have near enough money to just outright buy it, because that requires even more grinding. I’d rather have fun playing the game.

The fights are meant to be balanced around people their level. The lower level fights do a good job of this but the higher level fights fall short of this. The SB was never meant to be fought by a horde of level 80s in full exotics/ascended and it isn’t balanced for this.

If scaling was better on players it’d be fine but a downscaled 80 is much stronger than a true level 14.

SB, FE and jungle wurm (not the three headed one) are all introductory world bosses making them tequatl level would be silly and unneeded.

Giving SB a bigger hp pool might just be right up his alley though.

Which is kinda hilarious given how strong the FE was at launch. It being an “introductory world boss” and all. Carpet-bombing of aoe, mass spawns of embers, fire waves of death… Whole thing had to be zerg trained.

…Fun times. lol

Assuming you could get into the room without dying. That was a challenge in itself.

Really it’s a good thing that they’re nerfing champion loot, the loot farmers ruin the game. Failing LS events because they wanted to farm, crashing activities because you get rewards faster for losing, the entire champ train in queensdale that gets mad at people for doing events in the starting zone.

I hate those people.

Well really who knows what’s at the bottom of the sea. All we know is that bubbles is down there somewhere, we have no idea if something worse happens to be down there as well.

Besides the Krait didn’t care about the Risen BECAUSE they had the orb and knew they were protected from corruption. They probably even had more orbs, maybe bubbles destroyed that orbs just like Zhaitan tried to take the one we got. Maybe the Krait left once they saw a lot of their villages getting their orbs destroyed and taken over.

Zhaitan seemed to know the orb was what prevented his corruption, he went straight for it. He must’ve learned that at sometime. He almost got away with it too, if it wasn’t for us meddling kids. You’d think that bubbles would make an appearance if he had conquered the entire sea by now, at the very least we should’ve seen some of his minions. There’s something stopping him, we just don’t know what.

Jormag however is knocking on Hoelbrek’s front door. The only other dragon that was that close to any city was Zhaitan.

I’d say probably Jormag. He kills spirits of the wild and doesn’t afraid of anything. He seems to have the longest reach and is strong enough that the sons of sons of svanir worship him as a spirit of the wild.

People who havent played it have a lot of faith in it but the actual game is very boring. There will be an initial flood but as the game doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, it’ll last a few months before it’s forgotten by most.

Rainbow Sprint.3215

I’m not sure how many of you have read the countless threads asking for a Wardrobe, but this feature update is giving almost everything that has been asked for since launch. The Town Clothes change is a small price to pay for all of that. I’m super excited to finally be able to have my Elementalist fight in her Bloody Prince Costume.

I think I’d prefer that they release the Wardrobe as planned, but let everyone know that their main goal for the next wardrobe enhancement/expansion is to improve the Town Clothes to function as single skins that are capable of Mix-and-Match. They could even replace a few pieces at time with each two-week update, until they were caught up.

Also, I think the Charges provided by Stones and Crystals should be altered. 1 Stone should equal 1 charge and 1 Crystal should be worth 3 charges. It seems odd that transmuting Level 79 and under items is suddenly going to triple in cost.

I said in another thread. We can still want the wardrobe but complain about the town clothes. The two things are different.

The wardrobe is good, I like finding different gear combinations and mixing and matching.

The town clothes thing is sort of odd though. If anet doesn’t want to make them into armor skins, that’s fine, we bought them already knowing we couldn’t use them in combat, but why make them into tonics? Why not just say no and that they’ll keep the current system they have for town clothes; I’d prefer that as opposed to this tonic thing.

The main problem I think a lot of people have with this is why. Anet has just told us they’re doing it this way, but not why they’re doing it this way; just deal with it. At the very least we deserve an explanation since a lot of us payed real money for them.

One word: Nexon

Why is this class 'bad'?

in Necromancer

Posted by: Rainbow Sprint.3215

Rainbow Sprint.3215

Disclaimer: “The necro is not really bad.”

But when you take into account how the game plays out at the most basic mechanics (damage, control, support), how would you rate the necro? People need to honestly ask themselves without over complicating the final answer. Keep it simple, good or bad?

How is the necro when it comes to dealing damage?
How is the necro when it comes to defending against damage?
How is the necro when it comes to dealing control?
How is the necro when it comes to defending against control?
How is the necro when it comes to dealing support?
How is the necro when it comes to receiving support?

Answer these questions with a simple “good” or “bad.” Then ask yourself these same questions for the other classes and see where the necro ranks overall.

Thats over simplifying it tbh. Necro is not really terrible at any of those things but the other classes can provide a lot more of each in most cases. Its also the type of support, damage and control that matters and how useful that is compared to other types.

No matter how you look at it necro is bottom in pve. Ranger (debatable) and engi are also bottom tier classes but they are leagues above necro at the moment.

If we’re going from a PvE standpoint alone, the ranger is very strong. Some people just refuse to look passed the meta sometimes for viable builds. Or abandoning the class feature for the build. Anet gives you pets so you obviously have to center your build around pets.

The necro isnt bad in terms of damage but the main thing that kills it in PvE is the lack of AOE with said damage.

I’d love to see restrictions on armor removed for the sake of transmutation. So I could be an Elementalist looking like I’m in Heavy Armor, even if the Stats are still Light Armor. Or I could be a Guardian in Light Armor even though I’m wearing Heavy Armor.

yeah, dont ever see that happening. ANet believes in being able to identify a class just based on their general “look”. If what you wanted happened, then no one would be able to tell the different classes apart in pvp/wvw.

anyway. my guess is on Removing Soulbound Restrictions. make sense, right? right? Im thinking on a way to unbind an item(expensive exotic anyone?) to resell. Like upgrading armor/weapons from exotic to ascended and being able to resell your old armor on the TP.

Then what would be that thing down the list that says account bound?

I crafted mine.

It depends what stats you’re going for. I would hold off on skins you’re going for until after the april 15th patch.

Crafted also most of my stuff, but sunday i finished another lvl 80 warrior and bought the most in the TP.

Normally i would go for knights armor and berserker trinkets. However there were for pieces of named armor in the TP with berserker stats that were quite cheap so i bought them and used instead knights earrings.

Then some knight parts were also available for 1g30s or whatever, and others for 5-6g. So i bought the cheap and crafted in the end just the 1-2 expensive parts.

Then i wanted 2 nice axes, as skins. Phoenix Reborn looked nice and i transmuted 1 on an ascended i already had craftet, but the second i simply used how it was since it hat valkyrie stats that also compensated for the more berserker armor, and a Sigill of Fire that was worth 3,20g while i just payed 3,15 for the complete axe.

So .. if you want to spare some money its worth it to browse the AH a little and show if there are cheaper alternates to the crafted stuff

Well I played the game at launch so the only exotics in the AH were the crafted stuff. It might have changed now but way back when that was the cheapest way.

We already have way to many of those stupid things cluttering up storage. I don’t know how many mystery tonics I’ve deleted. The last thing we need is tonics that give us undyable clothes.

Everyone thinks their class sucks, that’s why. While the necro isnt particularly good for PvE it’s not terrible and other classes have it worse (Elementalist). Necros can do fine in WvW, which you said; and while I dont play PvP I hear they’re not bad there.

Elementalist is not bad, they’re asked for Fire fields + ice bow & fgs to deal insane damage..

Thats the problem, ele is just utility, they’re not that good on their own. If other classes could get the FGS then nobody would want an ele. Damage is not all that makes a class. Something everyone could use to learn really.

Erm ele has everything. Top damage (not just with conjures), buffing, utility, support, versatility, active defense. Best solo class aswell.

Spoj is correct. However, if you haven’t bothered to actually learn everything about the Elementalist, you’ll find it difficult to perform. Once you have, though, you’ll have amazing Dps, amazing support and amazing survivability.
Again, it takes a lot of work to get to that point.

ANd you’ll always be inferior to a warrior who does less work than you do on top of the fact that he’ll out damage you and be more durable. This isnt the ele forum though so we should drop this conversation, i’ve already said my thoughts on this in the ele forum numerous times. If we really want to debate this make a thread on the ele forum and i’ll continue this discussion with you there.

Though really looking at a picture, i’d say brick or ruby(dark red), black(black), and gunmetal(gray). Doesn’t look dark enough to be abyss. I might be a little off on the gray dye, I don’t mess with them too often.

OMG this is really great!

I have neither stones nor gems, so no regret here

B..B..But i have 100 transmutation crystals….

You still need them… You will have transmutation charges, the 80 stones will be converted 1:1 and the 1-79 ones 3:1. There is still NO FREE TRANSMUTATING!

You would think it’d be the other way around, since the transmutation stones are easy to get, dont cost gems, and you get more at a time. You’d think anet would want to reward players more for buying gem store items, that it’s more worth it buying from the gem store.

Anyway i’m a human mesmer.

  1. all armor skins are made for humans first and the other races are an afterthought
  2. Humans have the only skill that can really compete with timewarp for usefulness in a fight, hounds of balthazar

Why is this class 'bad'?

Everyone thinks their class sucks, that’s why. While the necro isnt particularly good for PvE it’s not terrible and other classes have it worse (Elementalist). Necros can do fine in WvW, which you said; and while I dont play PvP I hear they’re not bad there.
