I am surprised you are finding a barren wasteland in lFG. I can only assume it could be your timing.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event_timers
Use this (/wiki event timer for chat link) to coordinate your lfg. Every time I look up DS at the time of starting, LFG is always absolutely flooded with taxis. Same with Tarir and Gerent when their time is near.
It is nigh on impossible to find a populated map without the lfg taxi system (something they are addressing), but as long as you use the timers on wiki as a guide, that should help you find what you are looking for.
Yes you can, the only reason to keep them is that as a physical item they can be applied once to an item for free as a skin, without using a transmutation charge.
If you feel you have an abundance of charges, then delete away
The living story pretty much revolves around the dragons. The open story of what happened with the mursaat is more in keeping with the living world, which the raids are a part of. It does make sense to have the raids used as a side story.
If the didnt use existing gw1 lore, then players would complain loudly that it was a wasted opportunity to use the white mantle and the mursaat.
If Lazarus is the final boss as been predicted since the first wing, then he he would be an excellent choice for a major raid boss.
Sadly, I am not good enough to get that far or be accepted into a team, so whether I will get to see the whole thing is unlikely, but in terms of mechanics, lore and drawing ppls attention in, this feels like a good thing to me to strengthen the game.
And yet those fraction still deserve content. Just because players like you and I aren’t raiding, doesn’t mean others shouldn’t have that chance
Oh ok but actually I am serious that Trolls are creatures that aren’t real. I talked to my bf and he said that’s what trolls are. I even seen them on WoW and they are just like weird animals. You guys might of made that word up and use it differently since the only meaning I know of Troll is the not real animal. I even talked to my moms bf and he said the same thing. They didn’t know where you get the troll on how you were saying it from since as far he knows theirs only the Troll for the creature. Haven’t you seen Trolls before even on GW2?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll (real troll)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll (mythological troll)
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Troll (GW2 interpretation)
It’s free with restrictions
Also you might be surprised by how many people don’t use Metabattle, or even meta builds.
This.
I don’t even know what is and what isn’t meta. I just click my own builds together. Creating well-functioning builds, for my own purposes, not someone else’s, is a big part of the fun for me.
Yep, I play whats fun and works for me, learning to get the best out of what I choose.
I have no interest in another players arbitrarily assigned “must use this build or else”.
OP if you like and want hat legendary, absolutely nothing else matters, you go for it.
Out of pure curiosity, what do you require more speed at level 20 for?

Scroll down to the HoT heading. It is looking likely for some changes and possible nerfs coming in April to broaden the appeal of the HoT maps.
We did it with 5. We tried Lost Precipice and could’nt do it. We then adjusted some builds and played around with our team set up and went straight for Gilded Hollow instead. Instant success.
It’s not always easy for a team of 5, but it is definetly doable. Condition damage felt essential, especially with something than can dish it out as aoe, like an ele/tempest or reaper. If you are struggling, a strong support toon in the party will help keep people buffed and alive.
Sadly, most of my guild has dissipated now, leaving me to mostly fund the hall and occasionally some others log in and contribute, which means the hall is now a very long term work in progress to build up
“And there are no bears in maguuma….and the streets are paved with cheese”
A shout out for Dulfy making sense of the discussion and summarising it so perfectly on her site. Reddit proved a bit of a nightmare to dip in/out of to check for updates and really didn’t lend itself at all well for the AMA in that respect, but summaries like hers made life so much easier for the rest of us.
http://dulfy.net/2016/03/05/gw2-reddit-developer-ama-summary/
Overall, although very long overdue, it was an excellent outpouring of comms from all the devs involved – demonstrating a clear passion and eagerness to share that we have rarely seen outside of the HoT blogs. This is what we have been clamouring for for 2+ years now. If this is how they feel comfortable and is the best way for them to communicate plans, then so be it.
I’m not a fan of Reddit at all, but at this stage when we have been so starved of communication, substance wins over format/location.
Hopefully the start of a new and positive chapter in community/dev relations. It certainly needs it.
As an activity like the karka and keg brawl game….maybe.
Open world, absolutely not. It neither fits or belongs there in terms of mechanics or scenario.
Please Anet, just make them replayable on a map with the S1 event…How? Maybe with Fractal of the Mist (talk to a NPC you teleport you to a open map with the event, this will be really fast to implanted back)
It wouldn’t be a fast fix at all. The game isn’t set up for them just to switch things back on. It’s why SAB hasn’t returned – the code has had significant changes and older content is no longer compatible without work to adjust it.
It has some applications for all the ascended crafting and some areas of precursor crafting. Wiki will list all their applications.
However, supply greatly outstrips usage, hence why the consumers exist. These can convert the mats into random loot
Dragonite converted by Princess from the LA karka shooting collection
Bloodstone converted via Mawdrey
Empyrael converted by the Gratitude Star gained during Wintersday
Younger than my back and knees…
Overall I think they are a good thing, but it often depends on the game or how they are implemented. I was uncertain they were needed with GW2 since it does the mass open world style so well, that instanced raids seem to constrict it. However, open world rarely gives the same sense of challenging mechanics to test skills against and so far, the devs have done really well to keep them unobtrusive to the rest of the game.
Lotro had spectacular raids in the early days before it all rolled off the hill. Alrhough it gated your gear progression, it had a mature and welcoming community and undeniably fun and well designed raids.
Then you look at funcom mmo raids and see how it can all go wrong and it encourages a communal split between so called elites vs casuals. TSW will never now recover from this, despite their admirable attempts to universalise currencies, so that all content can gain gear, with raids giving the best chance.
GW1 showed that this kind of content can be beneficial to the game, by being rewarding, challenging, yet never essential. GW2s raids have done a pretty decent job of emulating this approach. The community chasm at the moment is a bit concerning, but not damaging at least. As long as things like dps meters and inspections are kept out the game, at least officially, things will likely be fine I think.
Really useful tool. Something a few of us have campaigned since launch for due to positive outcomes in other MMO’s.
Really happy to see this!
Some excellent and important comms in that AMA. Whether it be about LS3 shipping mid-late 2016, or the forthcoming changes to HoT to make it less group orientated or even the reconsideration to dungeon rewards. Lots to digest. Hope someone is summarising it all…

We’re gonna need a new face for the hype train!
Gaile?
John Smith?
Any volunteers….?
A good first post by Mike. Precisely the sort of comms long awaited.
Nice to see an acknowledgement of losing sight of their original aims with the increased grind, but also positive news to fix it and soon.
April sounds like fun
Ok ill be the one to say it.
Love this idea!!
Players also charge for others using their home instances with full nodes don’t forget. To be honest, it’s mostly case of rarity also driving the cost rather than cost efficiency.
If you do a google search, there are some fine ideas for legendary dyes that have been posted over the years. It would also give value to 500 chef.
Pretty difficult to argue with the feedback here. I thoroughly enjoyed Rodgort, but the mat sink lost the legendary journey feel, whilst the other tiers were too easy. Prob needed balancing out.
I certainly found then a lot more enjoyable than I expected and some original gameplay ideas thrown in. More of that can only be welcomed.
Hopfully the long lead time on the next round is to avoid the bugging out dramas
However, you dont own the weapon and are asking for a change to something ppl already have and love. Im also not an advocate of changing legendary effects. Ive seen changes to some of mine which I have not considered beneficial, i felt Moot was diminished for example and i had that for 18 months before they started tinkering with it.
I dont think Sunrise falls into the category of requiring change, personally speaking.
Good news. Are you able to divulge which particular problems have been identified?
Content takes time to develop. We all want more content, but most of us understand things don’t drop that quickly, regardless of income. No content after 4 months of their first expac is not by any means an unreasonable time for a content drought.
Lets not forget, Anet were inundated with forum posts saying they should “slow and down and take time to deliver better content rather than more” after Season 1.
Also, they have stated new content is being worked on – HoT re-works, S3, WvW overhaul, raids, the late legendaries, hopefully even SAB and S1 if we are lucky. Those are heavy projects and with a 2nd expansion confirmed to be in the works, small content droughts are to be expected.
WvW is being re-vamped, the extent of which they hope to reveal soon. The update itself is probably later this year due to the time they are investing in it
What it will include is speculation, but worth keeping an eye on the weekly news in case when it does hit, it alleviates issues like these.
Needs a bigger moustache!
From what I understand, the story’s been changed, main cities have been destroyed, etc.
Last played a few years ago I’d guess.
Never mind, I guess I answered my own question… I’ll just start over and see where that goes.
The personal barely changed. It was cleaned up, slightly reordered and amended. The vast majority would never notice. Apart from the last instance, i noticed nothing.
Only one city was destroyed and rebuilt. The rest are unchanged.
There are barely any changes to the world since launch. Some new zones, kessex got a bit destroyed, but otherwise zero impact on returning players. Id advise rolling new toons and going back to old toons later.
In what way is the World itself so different?
When did you last play?
Except no evidence exists.
To make any accurate comparisons, everyone needs to be doing roughly the same thing. Are they playing similar hours?
Are they playing similat content?
Are they playing more content which involves chests or ranking up?
Are they playing the forge more?
Are they in higher level areas more?
Is magic find equal?
Are players lying and linking chat codes? ( very very common tactic)
There are so many factors at play, it is very easy to dismiss lucky accounts. At the end of the day, it is in the best interest of the game and the devs for a system not to exist. The devs see the data, so if such a flaw exists or existed, it would have been picked up and corrected long ago
I can haz quaggan-burger?
I get it during gliding. If I hold down for my name plate, it stutters all over the place
For ref, I harvested 3 nodes of sawgill. I got 3 lots of of Indigo at 4, 5 then 4 again. 2 of those came from the same node. Sawgill could be your answer
I haven’t noticed any correlation. I usually get them from portobello and truffles (orrian/snow) though. Also sawgill I think might be a good resource to farm from – I got a fair few from those iirc
Yes I agree, that’s pretty bad luck if that is all you are getting. I certainly get way more than that. I think I’ve had double digit indigos from a couple of nodes.
Maybe try a gathering booster and see if that helps?
Are they low? I’ve been inadvertently collecting hundreds of them from mushrooms and truffles I’ve harvested around Tyria, not knowing what they are for previously.
I’d give you mine if I could, but the drop rate seems pretty high compared to many things at least.
I already use toughness on most of my toons. The scenario you envisage wouldnt be one Id play.
However, talking as a hypothetical situation
- id stack defences even further. Possibly even heals. Reflects and shields of all types would be high priority. I use them now out of fun, id use them here for essentialness
- id go nowhere dangerous on my own. It would at least encourage strong team bonds
“Get Her!”
That’s your entire strategy?
There’s definitely a very slim chance we’ll survive.
I love this plan! I’m excited to be a part of it! LET’S DO IT!
Aye, still occuring this evening. EU/UK
Took a while to hit your stride, but it was in general very enjoyable. Shame about the sudden issues with the background music 3 mins in, but it doesn’t take away from your performance.
Nicely done
I like the idea of an expansion tab. It could be 3 random dailies from a pool relating to any expansion or it could be “today is from HoT” “today is from Expac 2” etc.
That’s long term thinking, but better to have the framework in place.
Obviously I support adding in HoT dailies regardless
Fractals are another good way. They are short group instances (like dungeons but more focused). The tokens from them can buy accessories.
Certain stat combos (eg Power/Precision/Condition and Vit/Tough/Healing) are earned via achievements in the Living Story – either Season 2 or Heart of Thorns
They are also random drops through fractal reward chests, WvW levelling up chests, PvP rank up chests.
Most exotic gear you can craft or buy from crafters on the TP. Orr vendors also sell some for karma. They are good places to start for exotic stuff. ALternatives would be dungeons or pvp reward tracks. Exotic stuff is quick and easy to get.
Ascended weapons will probably be your next aim (crafting, extremely rare drops, elite specialisation collections).
Ascended gear will be a very long term goal.

It’s possible race wont unlock for you yet if you haven’t bought a certain upgrade, so lets leave that for now.
Bounties you just work together as a group. If someone is attacking your bounty, you will get credit if you attack as well and complete. It’s a bit hit and miss in finding others doing the bounty you need
Trek is specific to your guild, but is the easiest of them all. 1-3 players can easily complete an easy trek mission by either knowledge (which is the most fun) or using a Dulfy guide. Medium is doable unguided, hard would need a guide.
You can run missions all day long until you complete them (you only get the favour/rewards once)
My tiny guild has built favour weekly with just 3-4 people. At most 5 on a good (rare) week. pve missions – especially Trek and race (which is co-op on the map with other guilds running it) are a reliable way to earn favour.
We are level 15 and en route to getting Arena 2, currently with 4k unused favour.
Are you sure about that? I’m pretty certain influence can not be gained or bought since HoT. Even wiki says the same (unless you have an old consumable)
The Guild Promoters sell favour for influence, but I’m unware of a reverse transaction
