What? I’ve not seen this ever. Maybe you’ve been unlucky with your maps, but then I’m on an EU server, so that might be it.
Im on EU, there is a rotating group on every ab meta I play.
To be honest it doesn’t appear to hurt anything. As long as no one then afks after, i havent seen any noticeable problem.
The last time I played AB, everyone seemed to rotate through all four areas as opposed to four groups staying in each one. This was the first time I’ve seen this strategy, but it worked and we got the meta done. Not sure if this is what you mean, though.
Not seen a full map rotate before. That’s a new one to me. Usulaly it’s a rogue squad doing it.

Isn’t this the post from said youtuber?

If people are genuinely getting none, I would suspect some sort of bug that needs raising
(In my experience) they aren’t rare at all. I have hundreds of the things from mushrooms all over Tyria. The drop rate seems very high for these. I’d recommend going to anywhere that has lots of caves and Orr where there is an abundance of truffles and omnoms
Believe you me I’d give you a stack for free if they werentbound
LOL Balance.
How do you balance pve, pvp and wvw evenly.. you don’t.
Why GW1 worked so well because the two styles of game play were segregated for good reason.
GW1 by the community and devs own words was hugely unabalanced. I can understand wanting to balance the 3 game modes independently, but GW1 is not a shining example to hold up
Plus, they weren’t segregated. A fraction of skills were split and certain skills were only usable in PvE (where most of them were still overpowered).
Don’t know what you are talking about…Pain inverter was a perfectly balanced pve skill………………….

I vaguely remember hearing a dev say they would address this. Possibly even in Aprils patch. That’s not a definite, but worth checking through the patch notes on Tues for any changes.

Think they answered yes to both if I am reading that correctly
A moving of the raid portal seems a strong possibility
I believe they said yes on Reddit yesterday
New maps are still very populated, however getting t4 bladed chest is still a nightmare. It does happen, but it requires extensive use of the taxi lfg service. This may change with the spring update.
Elite gain is the same. Hero point trains operate pretty much all the time, so getting hero points is fine in that respect.
WvW is being updated later this year. Old borderlands will come back soon, reset night has hanged back to the requested friday nights. More info in the wvw subforums can be found
Some reworks are expected, but we don’t know what form they will take.
It also does not “make” you do everything in a group. The story is soloable and you can get from point to point between the story on your own too. The group stuff tends to be around some of the events and also many of the hero points.
I would suggest if you are concerned though, continue to wait for the patch notes next week or keep an eye on the dev tracker here or on Reddit in case they let slip any previews.
However, that doesn’t mean that we aren’t going to fix this. A fix is in the works right now, and that fix may happen before SAB closes or be there for the next time the festival opens.
So this is conformation SAB will return?
SAB is an annual festival now. They confirmed this via the blog and guild chat
I feel like I just watched the morality segment at the end of a GI Joe cartoon
Not that I disagree with you of course.
Go Joe!
Bet it shoots roaring tigers.
Kenya believe it..
Don’t tell anyone, but I kinda like it.
Uh oh…I’ve been spotted… aaaaaaaaa cheese it!!
There is nothing wrong with you liking it. I am glad that Anet added a skin that someone likes. Its just not for me. To each their own.
It’s a shame my thief doesn’t use shortbow atm and that he uses a different colour scheme lol. Still, if everyone hates it and I make one…I would look unique

There was no promise or indication of content in this patch though from what I recall?
I agree we need less core systems and more content, but I wasn’t expecting anything until the summer. If we get even a boss overhaul next week, that is more than was previously indicated in terms of pve content additions.
So the patch is ready to ship but you won’t tell us what’s coming? Is it ready or not?
The new policy is not to preview very much so as to “surprise us on the day”
I think most people would want to know the meat of a patch in advance to ge the excitement going with just some extra surprises thrown in, but that’s just my thinking.
Very much against this new policy especially as I really enjoyed reading some of their preview blogs, but it is, what it is. I still throughly enjoy GW2, but the excitement of what is coming next has dropped considerably
edit: The Tentonhammer vid above looked interesting. DId I see Megadestroyer? Maybe a rework?
Play and have fun. When you don’t have fun then move on. Quit worrying about things you have no control over. It’s a game for entertaining you, not a partner for you to be married to.

Well said
Hardly. Even if the population is on decline, there are still thousands more ppl playing than other MMO’s I play.
It has hit a roadblock, most MMO’s go through this whether naturally or through mis-direction.
If it went today or yesterday, then contact support and ask nicely if they will sell it to you because it went without warning. They are usually accomodating.
If it has been gone a while (which I think it has), you will have to wait until it returns
I think part of the issue is how little fractals have received since inception. They were brought in to revolutionise how we looked at instanced content and yet have not received a level of development and attention that warrants that kind of acclaim. Perhaps if there had been a constant flow of content updates, then much of the thirst for instanced content would have been satiated.
My guess is the company believed open world group metas were the way forward for the Living World concept, yet a Living World in the way many would interpret never materialised fully and an over reliance on metas has frustrated various corners of the playerbase.
As for dungeons, well I would be surprised if we ever see them again. No dungeon team, technical issues with the originals, lack of resources, call it what you will, but I think the community needs to accept that Anets road does not go down that direction.
Instanced content has always been niche in MMO’s, but even so it has been neglected for at least 2 years here. The fractal update this year will be a make or break for the non-raid side of instanced content for many I feel.
If only there was a Tarzan movie coming that they could somehow tie that idea into…
An identical thread exists for seeking your answer
I don’t understand why the GW2 character creator bothers with armor colors. I spent 15 minutes tooling around, seeing what I liked, getting my armor just so, and then the first upgrade at like level 3 uses a different color scheme and pees all over my efforts.
Does the color scheme you choose at the start come up again later with high-level armor, or is it all just a waste of time (and, seemingly, coding)?
Thanks!
Different armours have different dye channels and there are hundreds of dyes and armour pieces to unlock. The starting screen is more like a taster than an accurate representation. You can reapply unlocked dyes for free as many times as you like, but as a new player most wont settle on a palette and wardrobe til 80.
I however am odd and re dye and wardrobe alts up the moment i leave char set up lol
then quickly realized that no one with any fashion sense would wear speedos in a jungle
Oh right.
I’ll make a note!
You look like a cross between a Final Fantasy Black Mage and Orko from He-Man
I approve
As a big fan of Xenoblade Chronicles X – a single player game with waypoints inside one of the most visually stunning worlds ever created, I’m a big advocate in not using waypoints so as to preserve a greater level of appreciation for the World,
That isn’t to be taken as remove them, but ignore them. There are too many, but it is a popular feature of the game for others. I like your hot balloon idea mind you, but I wouldn’t advocate removing wps. If you want to explore the World, just ignore them like I do.
But the levelling system isn’t grindy or repetitive to me in the first place, so where is my incentive to change it? If anything, the game benefits from not rushing to this bizarre perception of “endgame”, as the zones are more fun progressing as you level. The levelling experience to me is a side bonus of “progression” whilst the real fun is the content itself.
What I’d prefer to see is new content in the zones so when I do level up an alt, it increases the variety further.
If I wanted to avoid the levelling system and get to my elites quickly, my bank is stacked full of unused level up tomes to get to level 80 instantly. As for new players, well elites are further progression for experienced players/characters to further their options. They aren’t designed for ppl to rush ahead and get them to act as a new class as quickly as possible.
Again, I commend your effort in theorizing, but you’ve created a solution for a problem that to me, simply does not exist. Or at least doesn’t exist in a way so vital, a sizeable dev team needs to be on it for such a considerable span of time.
welp, thanks gents, at least I can craft the ascended armor and weapons right?
Correct
So essentially the skill builder is wrong and I cant purchase the ascended versions via laurels etc?
Correct. The 3 amulet versions are from the story achievements, sadly the rest are raid only.
Not the best thought out system, but there you go
I very much doubt they would ever downgrade to core game difficulty level. Doesn’t mean that they wont and shouldn’t tweak the difficulty in places, but that much of a nerf would probably be as bad for the game as making it too difficult.
There are quick wins like mob densities, nerfing the hylek dps, re-balancing the breakbars on bosses they could look at.
They have to look at long term survival of the maps. Can HoT maintain population as new areas open up? Currently I don’t think so
I dont think he is referring to sab directly, he is just saying sab as content has taken his eyes off rhe ball. Sounds like something big has been added somewhere, but perhaps not where everyone is congregating, otherwise it would be noticed by now.
it may also only be visible when data-mining and not physically in the world yet…
This is also true and the more likely
It would be fairly stupid of them to advertise it as part of an expac, however since HoT will come free with the expac, technically it would still fall under the HoT umbrella.
It is a matter of being clear they arent being added with the new xpac, but as late content for the previous..
Regardless, id buy an expac based on a wide range of things, not just whether legendaries were or not included

Such an undertaking, which achieve extremely little in the long term since the current system mostly works fine, albeit needs a bit of tweaking, would be monumental in terms of resources. Every last bit of the game would need to be looked at, including;
- story structure,
- re-visiting every heart in the game for the correct level and re-doing every vendor reward
- every single item would need re-valuing
- the TP would need re-structuring for the new values
- every mob, every map, every event re-valued and re-scaled.
- dungeons would need some re-working to adjust for the new values.
and so on and so on. These aren’t as simple as adjusting numbers. To reduce a level cap and re-work everything and stagger the system as you sugegst would take the team probably a year+ if they weren’t bogged down with other things like adding new content, re-working wvw (which already includes changes to the hero point system from what I read) and so forth.
Whilst it’s nice to see a constructive idea on the forums, it isn’t a feasible one nor would it gain anything.
The wvw specific bonus (the guard bit for eg) of the wvw do not work in pve. You can get infusions which increase stats and agony for pve.
No you cannot put runes in infusion slots.
For launch, I have iconic memories of the intro leading up to fighting the elemental hands. At the time, it felt spectacular. Then seeing Divinitys Reach in it’s glory. Granted there is very little to do for such a large space, but it was breathtaking. And then being wowed by Shadow Behemoth.
I also remember walking through the ruins below the Black Citadel and remembering how amazing pre-Searing Ascalon was. Walking the path with the lamposts was eery in the way it brought flashbacks to the old game.
It’s difficult to recreate such “omg” moments and the same situations are sadly gone on replays with alts. Seeing Jormag and Shatterer for the first time was immensely cool. Almost no new boss generates that now. Maybe Mouth of Mordremoth.
Post-launch I have fond memories of them blowing up LA. Simply because it felt like a truly iconic moment in the game’s life. Seeing it in ruins, battling for its citizens – that was one of the best times for the game for me. Even after, the haunted feel and music of burned out LA was still a powerful image.
And of course seeing Glints Lair..
“You can never have too much treasure”
Yes…yes you can. Esepcially if they are minor sigils/runes…
Getting bloodstone dust or similar from a chest

The greatest lie ever told….something something 16 new legendary weapons……
Which NPC said that?! I never heard that before
Keep in mind per the OP the thread is about what NPCs have said.
wooooops, didn’t read that far. I guess if its NPCs its the whole Evon vs Kiel voting thing. The election was rigged so the NPCs were lying!
How was it rigged..?
Ellen Kiels changes were datamined before the voting ended. Evon Gnashblades? nope.. Not to mention they couldn’t shoehorn Scarlet into an abaddon Fractal like they could into the reactor. And I am still yet to meet somebody who supported Kiel…. after meeting hundreds of players…
You just met someone.

“The war can’t last forever”
I don’t think they will make either. I think the issue more comes down to splitting the population. With the number of metas active at the moment, the population is already quite split – whether it is SW, Dry Top, Teq, Auric, DS, TD, Shatterer, TT, VB T4, some of those metas fail to garner enough people now and we have only hit one expac. We also have raids, festivals, story, pvp seasons, wvw thrown in there as well.
At the moment, we are nowhere near a critical problem. By the time Tyria is fully fleshed out with all the Dragons, I really can’t see 1 or 2 more continents doing any more than pulling players away from existing content, causing events and the “Living World” to break down – something Anet really doesn’t want to do under the current design philosophy.
It will have to re-design how it does future (and some existing) metas for Elona/Cantha to become viable options based on how things are now.
I’d love to see either personally – Kaiden would be stunning under GW2, with gliding and exploring so many nooks and crannies. Elona would look utterly different, but would evoke fond memories.
The thing that seems strange to me is how player to player trading is vehemently discouraged for protection of the buyer/seller, except when it comes down to selling runs the discouragement is dropped.
Glad to see some comms on this though. I don’t agree with the stance, but it doesn’t really affect me since I don’t pay for runs and I don’t really put much thought into how other people got their “shinies”.
And many console DLC’s contain less content per DLC for roughly the same cost, often with 2-3 DLC’s per game. One Xbox fighting game asked for £20 just for 6 new characters, more if you wanted early access. Some games (like Battlefront) appeared to offer to less in the core game just to throw out a series of DLC’s at a combined cost equal to the base.
WWE immortals (a fighting game app), asks for £19-£23 to buy a pack of 2-3 characters to play with. An enjoyable game for a button basher/swiper, but hardly value for money there. OK, that’s in app purchase, but clearly ppl will pay that just for such insignifcant content, so why wouldn’t people pay $40 for the slew of content HoT offers in contrast? Yes some MMO’s offer more for your money (I got nearly 10 years gameplay out of Anarchy Online’s Shadowlands expansion). And some don’t (Lotro!)
No matter how you look at it, you can find better or worse value for money in games. What it boils down to is whether you want to pay that or not. We knew HoT wasn’t going to be content heavy – they made very sure of telling us that at every turn. OK we didn’t expect how worryingly short the story was and how some advertised features got cut.
I have got more value for money this week alone out of HoT, than I got out of other recent purchases, like say the latest Zelda game on Wii U, which was essentially was the same price.
I suspect one day they will add it. It does seem a fairly logical addition to the game, since most MMO’s use it. It’s a much requested QoL feature (hence why it was on the notes)
For now and until that day, hang your head in shame
