Again from what I hear, there’s stupidly frustrating things like ‘slime’. Easy with players that can play well together/have ‘VOIP’ of some sort, have the right buttons-spec to do it. What happened to the promise of Mumble or some sort of VOIP being built into the game, so you can do the content with pugs?Then, yeh rewards… Look at the rewards for say Frost Champ Farming. Brain dead, auto-attack combat. More rewards in 3 mins than this gives in 3 hours of ‘challenging content’. What was the ‘average drop time’ for Teq’s pretty weapons? Kill it every day for around 3 years?
wich brings us to another problem Anet will rather nerf the Champ or monster farming instead of simply improving dungeon/field boss/instance rewards.
i cant even play for half the time i used to when t he game came out simply because every effort put into the game seems worthless killing my mood .
its not a matter of wanting loot for not doing anything its a matter of being tossed into a war site forced all the way through it and then being given a pat on your back and a lollipop as reward for enduring hell and then being kicked into some more action.

The reason they got rid of mine kit in the first place was because it was awkward to use and had exceptionally boring skills. The only thing that made it OP was some traits that you could use with it, but those were completely removed from the game (not to mention people never dodged properly in beta). All this would do would reintroduce a kit that would never get used.
Besides, it would mess up their skill format. All profession (except engineer) have 5 categories of utility skills, and each category has 4 skills in it (healing and elite skills are not included in this). For instance, warriors have 4 each of shouts, banners, physical skills, stances, and signets. Engineer instead have 4 categories of utilities, each with 5 skills in it. That is, engineers have 5 each of turrets, kits, gadgets, and elixirs. If they took away a gadget and added another kit, that would make 4 gadgets and 6 kits.
and how many times exactly do you Even look at your Mine gadget again?
or use it in actual combat ?
one of the mine kit issues as you mentioned wasnt even kit related players were new and dint dodge, everyone’s gone through that when they started and then realized dodging is crucial

stripped boons like crazy
Knockback spam
so why not just change them to something like
Higher damage (they have small activation radius they should be pretty punishing )
make tool belt mine be the big one ya know the one that strips 2-3 boons and knocks back
1 to 5 mines wont have knockback and maybe strip 1 boon
pretty much what this changes do is enable engineers to actually setup minefields smart and effectively

Have you ever played a game like Lineage 2 with big open world bosses (Antharas, Baium, Lilith)? Those required alliances of guilds to take down, aka hundreds of organized players. Tequatl is like these bosses. He’s not content designed to be facerolled.
except server ar capped to what 150-300 players? so there cant be super alliances

Thief vs Everyone else
As somebody who wants to finish the event (because I am primarily motivated by success, not loot), I am so. so. so. tired of farmers ruining this for me. If you fixed it so that champs didn’t spawn when the Aetherblade Pirate Captain is up (and, like you suggested, added Empyreal Fragments on victory), I think that’d go a long way toward making it better.
sure goodluck finishing invasions without ANY FARMERS entering those invasion maps who always SPEEDS UP 1st and 2nd wave in order to farm final wave (aether monies yummy), besides why do u think peeps like me hop on my cleric guard doin invasions leaving my frostgorge farm with my warr if the monies is not worthed it?

Since the new patch, consumables that increase the amount of karma you earn, no longer affects the amount of karma you get. What is the point of having consumables that increase the amount of karma you get now? It is completely useless now.
I have been piling up my consumables in the bank (have around 60 consumables that increases karma) AND NOW I CAN’T USE THEM!!! They should have warned players that consumables were going to be useless in the next patch, but they didn’t. Now I got a whole ton of consumables sitting in the bank.WHY ANET!?!?!? WHYYYYYYY!?!

You would also have little to know defense, and your relying completely on that and damage to survive.

Is it possible to do steal + backstab combo with Mug trait? I tried but every single attempt was not successful. Shadow shot + backstab combo – every single time without damage from shadow shot, what am i doing wrong?
problem is mug damages wich imediatly cancels your stealth i believe same goes for shadow shot however it might be possible with blinding power if you go Shadow shot>Blind powder>Backstab this might work with mug as well Mug>BP>BS

dagger pistol all the way you ll have so many blinds and access to stealth your enemies wont be able to hit yoou even if you stand in front of them
maily because grenades are AoE plusthey would be terrible if they had auto attack as they dont have the speed to keep up with targets grenades rely on player reflexes and predicability plus being manually aimed makes it easier to attack multiple targets easily
as you probably have seen other than pve grenades with auto attack would be near useless
all this buff would do is make the biggest zerg server overpower the other servers even more.
So all of you people that complain about ascended in wvw, you don’t kill up levels right? I mean, that would be just hypocritical. You also make sure to party your enemy and make sure they’re wearing the appropriate gear so that you’re both on an even level right? Do you at least make sure to ask them how many hours they have been playing and their estimated skill level?

theres an easy counter to retaliaton, called WELL OF CORRUPTION. Retaliation is the first boon it will remove since its following a priority list. so stop complaining about retaliation and get some coordination with your teammates, large scale fights aren’t about soloheroes anyways…

Actually, Bloodstone Dust was overly abundant for the farmers who saved up Champ bags go open after the update. To those players who didn’t do that, the current loot amount sorta gives them a chance to catch up to the rest of us. But even then, I would agree that the B Dust is quite common.
As for hardcore players who quit due to gates, that can’t be helped. There will always be the player who wants everything fast, so artificial walls would make them mad. But there’s a flip side to that. I’ll use myself as an example.
Before GW2, and before I was married, I was more of a hardcore gamer in GW1. I pretty much raced to get my GWAMM title, and then 50/50 HoM. I finished all the content of the core game and expansions quickly. At that point, I basically had nothing left to do. I would HoH or run Dhuum runs over and over with my guild. Got mini Dhuum, got the Dhuum Scythe, had more ectos than I knew what to do with. There was nothing left for me, and that’s because I did everything too fast. Then I left the game for a couple of years, only logging in to talk to the guild from time to time.
Gates prevent this from happening. Hardcore gamers who run out of things to do will get bored. If you provide them with something to do, and that something need to take 2 weeks to complete, it forces them to stretch out them gaming. In this sense, gates actually help hardcore gamers.
You missed the real point of gw1 entirely in your post- which was the fantastic pvp environment..
Time gating this stuff is the worst decision ever. Making the materials account bound is also annoying.
Think about people with alts, all nicely fitted out in exotics with one or two ascended bits (time gated by laurels, so not that many, will take another ten years to make all of them for all toons), who now get this crazy time gated rubbish they have to chase- not just once (like the players who only play one toon) but 10 times, 20 times, 30 times, depending on the amount of weapons each toon uses.
Can’t wait for ascended armor to come out, no doubt with yet more time gating.
Anet obviously want everyone to just play one class (character bound wvw..obviously these people never play the game)…

and its not even reliable.
Liadri only shows that you a) have skill AND b) you live close to the servers or have a good connection.
For people located in south america (like myself, lowest latency is around 300-500) it was close to impossible.

Unless someone posts a video of the flamethrower being effective in any sort of pvp/wvw environment, then I feel it needs a serious improvement.
If your talking about PvE and you want to max your damage then just go rifle/bomb kit.
problem with ft is you’d have to fully trait for it in order to do the average damage you’d do with any weapon from pretty much 1000+ range and half the attack time .
try comparing SD build vs FT both with zerker . SD= nearly garanteed 5k-7k damage per second . FT’s jet pretty much has several seconds to finish each burst .

i be been waiting for an update like this for a while as for the OP’s post the reason people fail scarlet is cuz players follow the commander tags and go farm the aether blade champs wich you cannot do in this event as Not a Single mob drops loot other than tequatl wich is one of the main reasons his loot got revamped.
the only thing stopping me from progressing in tribunal mode is this darn bugged rocks and no im not asking for a nerf im asking for a fix because they are hitting way beyond their intented range an example would be jumping from a ledge to a tree and rock from ledge knocks me somehow

this isnt fair when the above issue happens because you moved to safety yet got knocked back by a rock that wasnt even in range and died (not even due to falling off into a cliff you just die as if you landed on spikes)
Average effective pistol range is 30 meters (50 yards)
Grenade throw range – 30-35 meters by the average male soldier.
Mortar WW2 model – 2400 meters.
First shotgun like rifle – 30 – 60 meters effective (Brown Bess, next generation blunderbuss)So by far the most silly is the mortar.
I wasn’t talking about effective range. But in game perspective we are all hero’s / expert marksmen so average does not really come into play. My point is only this you can not throw a grenade further than a bullet can travel.
Actually this is wrong i am afraid. Due to the fact what i said before was modern pistols range. A flintlock pistol was used for dueling for example and at 20 yards/10 paces they had very little chance of hitting each other.
Although early grenades were a lot heavier too…fact is there’s not much in it. Pistols are only good very short range.
We have semi-automatic blunderbusses and flintlock pistols.
I don’t think historical accuracy is a factor here.
In my opinion, Grenades should have a range of 1000 by default, 1200 when traited. Rifle auto attack should have a range of 1200 by default and 1500 when traited.

grenades have out ranged pistols in the old and modern days as for why because pistols are designed to be portable low range weapons enabling ultimate mobility and fast reaction time , even if you where the best marksmen if a pistol was designed to average standards you cant make the pistol shoot 500 meters out of sheer will as it is a mechanical object not biological.
and you said it yourself Historical accuracy isnt a factor so being able to out range a mortar and rifles with grenades shouldnt be anoying you as it does (except maybe when you consider the mortar)
now game mechanics wise the reason grenades have the largest range is because it is a very demanding kit you need skill good reflex and each grenade has to be manually aimed and tossed unlike pistol and rifle wich you just click skill and they hit the target unless they dodge or block or blind you.

1. Azeroth was irrelevant when Blizzard made the first expansion to WoW which was called “The Burning Crusade” which took place on another planet. Azeroth was irrelevant and the subs grew.
2. “Wrath of the Lich King”, “Cataclysm” AND “Mists of Pandaria” have all taken place in Azeroth.
3. Subs went down when Blizzard reduced the difficulty and gave everyone the ability to get to the level of hardcore raiders simply by waving their hands, completely taking away the journey from the game.
4. There will always be empty zones.
5. If you get into an MMO a year after launch and expect to see a ton of people in low level zones you will always be dissapointed. People have reached max level and are playing the end game.
6.You clearly haven’t played this game for very long. This game has one of the most living worlds in any MMO ever, as far as I’m concerned.
7. ArenaNet is activly working on making the entire world rewarding even after reaching max level.
8. I’d recommend you to find another genre of games to play. MMOs clearly aren’t your thing.

I havent done trib mode myself nor do i plan to but taking away the difficulty for some whiners is just sad.There should be hard content.. i mean.. this is the same content as casuals get.. only catered for those who enjoy a bit of suffering.. no idea why they nerfed it.
not even tribulation it was just the bugged geysers and world 2 Normal mode that got “nerfed”

Can you please enlighten me what exactly was nerfed? I did full run W1 yesterday and tonight and cannot see any major difference. Or is it for w2 only (havent touched that yet) ?
They added 3 new checkpoints to w2-z2, decreased the difficulty of the Gong run in w2-z2 and decreased the difficulty of some jumps. The difference is not very noticable but the elitists who think they’re better than everyone else because they completed it pre-patch have their panties in a bunch because anet “made it easier for casuals”.

this people are the ones that ruin games its an MMORPG if you cant tolerate Fair gameplay and Sharing then you shouldnt play multiplayer games . for some it isnt even a matter of lack of skill it may even be poor hardware such as faulty mice or keyboard or simply weak graphics wich makes them run at low fps so yeah try be considerate.

5) A movement % decrease in stealth would require a hefty buff to stealth duration. It works like this in other games because stealth is not a limited time buff. You toggle it and then move around to get into position. Probably the worst idea of the bunch. A possible solution would be to have the 50% trait apply only for a few seconds (gets refreshed when stealth is REAPPLIED? so stacking stealth would still only result in like 3-5 sec of movement speed)
Oh another note, Can a mod please get rid of this topic (or lock it please)

1. each of those hp or protection sources is a major trait that dint go to damage or kits or whatever , thiefs also happen to have the ability to steal boons

Except he didn’t mention that trait anywhere in the post. One has to assume he means for all stealth to move at near cripple speed.

the reason i said i dont want my opponents to play thief or mesmer is because they swear over and over they have no problem beating thiefs as any other class and that it is a L2P issue .

5) A movement % decrease in stealth would require a hefty buff to stealth duration. It works like this in other games because stealth is not a limited time buff. You toggle it and then move around to get into position. Probably the worst idea of the bunch. A possible solution would be to have the 50% trait apply only for a few seconds (gets refreshed when stealth is REAPPLIED? so stacking stealth would still only result in like 3-5 sec of movement speed)

^boo hoo someone pointed out facts about thieves and i dont want my class fighting evenly with others
1. each of those hp or protection sources is a major trait that dint go to damage or kits or whatever , thiefs also happen to have the ability to steal boons
2.how the heck do you see logic in this argument, turn off the lights step aside and tell your friend to throw somethign where you were guess what nothing happens cuz neither one sees each other , if i blocked something thrown at me it would at least reveal his current or previous location
3.the debuff needs a revamp so that it works even if the thief does NOT damage a target thus preventing perma stealth
4.as i previously said it was a stupid suggestion, so this one should be scratched
5.50% movement speed is too much when you can spam stealth almost indefinetly and have a 25% movement speed signetMy problem with 5 is a movement speed reduction, especially one of such magnitude would make stealth skills, especially ones with positional requirements, completely useless.
Backstab and Tactical Strike are hardly threatening thier hard counter is “walking away”
It also like 1 would severely cripple thief’s chances to be taken on a dungeon run “now stealth us so we can get past these trash mobs. WTH?! USELESS THIEF!! NOW WE HAVE TO FIGHT ALL OF THEM!!kitten!” (The thief was then kicked and replaced by a ranger)Except the thief moves at 150% combat speed when traited and the OP wants that lowered to the levels of being under swiftness instead.
