One thing is for sure: if the month wont be a success story for the pvp part, the competitive scene will be wiped out, because 95% of the top tier PvP players will quit and probalby 50% of them wont even consider checking out any news concerning the game ever.
What makes this month more important than the previous?
It’s supposed to be the “big” PvP patch.
Ah. Well, let’s see what they add in the March section then. Hopefully rental arenas will be available, along with spectating.
Knowing my luck, neither will be.
Typically pistol-dagger thieves I can’t deal with.
Slippery bunch. Easy to avoid the caltrops, and the damage isn’t exactly amazing, but I can’t really harm them much either due to the whole playstyle of the stealth-pistol tactic.
I guess I should just get better at tracking stealthed targets.
It should.
Conditions should stick with downed targets though.
It’s pointless trying to finish off a player when all your damage comes from conditions, which were wiped when you downed a player.
Rallying isn’t hard to predict either. I like rallying just fine. Downed state conditions however. Fix-it Felix.

I don’t consider an aspect of the game until I find every single server empty.
Someone’s having fun with it. I am, for one. Why aren’t you?
It lacks a lot of stuff, sure. In fact it lacks the most basic and important features, but it’s still playable and you can still have fun with it.
Some overtuned abilities (heartseeker, null void) need toning down.
wat. I can agree with Null Void. But heartseeker? Wat.
In regards to the 6k hps thing, that sounds gimmicky and unfair.
I’m sure an ordinary death-match arena with the current professions is possible, although bunkers still need to be beaten into the ground with nerfs.
But we’ll see when renting arenas become available. I heard a whisper that you can customize rules, meaning you can effectively create an “arena” if you want.
Actually while watching cutscenes you become invulnerable
This, and
You’re asking for an option to make it easier for you to skip trash.
You run P3 Arah daily, so I assume you’re talking about the skip-run from Lupi all the way to the Wraithlord, with the cutscene on the halfway where you find the undead chicken.
You’re not meant to skip it. Why would they help you do something they didn’t intend?
Or you can just kill the thief.
Lmao bleed thieves.
It’s the only ones that I don’t know how to fight.
I really don’t know what their weakness is.
No.
Except the daily thing. Should award rank points instead of silly boosters that no-one needs because they already have 200.
Well, we’re getting rent-servers soon, so you can play your fingers off in a non-serious environment with your friends if you so desire.

I’m all for adding arenas.
I’m totally against adding dedicated healers.I do not think it is possible with out healers. or some sort of heal from outside otherwise it will be greatly imbalanced due to gimmicky specs
CC will become the new healers.
This.
Look at WoW’s 5v5 for reference.
No need for a healer at all. Just pick your target and kitten it.
3v3 was roughly the same too. Pick a target, kitten avoid being kitten
It could definitely work. Just not with the current bunker spec-strength.
The asura make me want to puke.
Why is it all the “highly intelligent” races always seem the most stupid ones?
Gnomes in WoW did it too.
“Well I made this epic machine that can look into the future. Oh lol it crashed, steam creatures everywhere. Insert cheesy line. LET’S DO IT AGAIN!”
I’m all for adding arenas.

No, I meant GW2 already has all of those things you listed going for it.
It’s the lack of group queue in SPvP holding it back.
The class customization is awesome, the UI is already non-isometric (compared to LoL, Diablo, etc). It’s just the lack of group queues in Spvp.
Sorry I wasn’t clear on that.
Lack of group queue?
I might be dim here, but the “create my own roster” thing seems pretty much like a group queue to me.
Then which other profession can accomplish this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACOxV5CA52w (I’ll give you a hint – the answer is: none)
P.S. Your statements about WoW rogues are untrue. It was harder to escape than in GW2 (any damage would break stealth). WoW had reduced runspeed in stealth because that has been one of the tradeoffs for stealth since the early days of pen and paper games – and with good reason. There was a spell that would reset the cooldown on vanish, but you had to spec for it and it had a very long cooldown. That was it. You could stealth, at most, 3 times. Otherwise you had to run away and get out of combat.
WoW’s rogues ran faster in stealth later on. Sprint also completely eliminated the reduction.
WoW didn’t allow for attacks to be made without a target (except ground-targeted abilities, and a FEW others), so ofc. it would need to break the stealth. If WoW allowed you to swing at nothing, then stealth would be UP as hell, and Vanish would be pointless.
You can still attack the thief who’s in stealth.
He’s not in Godmode when in stealth. In fact he’s likely to take even 3-5 hits while in stealth without being able to deliver an attack. All stealth does is make him invisible to you. You cannot see him. If he decides to attack you, you will see him (almost) immediately, which means that the thief didn’t gain any advantage over you, besides a backstab if you were bad. But then it’s not stealth you’re complaining about. Then it’s backstab.
Also, the “name one other class that can do this” argument is silly.
Name one other class who can absolutely slaughter any PvE content than a warrior.
Name one other class who can go from the squishiest cannon to the tankiest tank without changing build at all, on the fly.
Name one other class who has two health bars.
Name one other class who can deploy turrets.
It’s a silly argument. The thief in the video does nothing he shouldn’t be able to, except be invisible longer than intended because of culling.
And that’s a bug. That’s not a balancing question.
There is some reverse trolling here, the Dungeons are way over the top difficult for the average player. Those thanking the Devs for increased difficulty are trolling the average players.
There was no need to increase the difficulty of AC or any other Dungeon. If you want them difficult then add a hard mode, and for regular mode add a sixth member or reduce the difficulty by 40%.
Right now all paths, all dungeons are absurd, GW1 was nothing like this, and this game had so much potential.
I will be looking at ESO, leaving and not returning.
ANET does not have their act together. Yes you may have my money, but you won’t be getting my money from the BLTC.Support roles are weak and underpowered.
There are no control roles.
DAMAGE Warriors is about the only viable build.Anet, you lost your way.
This is trolling in and of itself.
The average player can easily do ALL the dungeons.
The terrible player can’t.
So if you’re having difficulties, you now know that you are not the “average” player.
Also, never ever was it said that explorables were meant for anyone but the most hardcore players.
The devs lied about that one, as the average players can easily rush through them. That’s why we praise them when they increase the difficulty. We’re praising them for moving a bit closer to their statement. Stating they need to be easier, or that they need to be at the same level as they are now, is trolling. So stop.
Also, that whole “add a hard mode” – That’s what explorable is.
TL;DR: Dungeons are not hard enough. Explorable modes are “hard modes”, so nerfing them is silly. If you can’t do these dungeons, find something else to do in the game, or jump on the ESO ship.
(edited by Rika.7249)
Here’s my recommendation: Do something else. Dungeons are obviously too hardcore for you.
Without sounding offensive it’ll be hard to give you helpful advice.
But I’ll do it.
As a guardian, your base health is among the lowest of all the professions. This is (assumingly) because you’re also among the professions that have the most ways of mitigating damage.
Along with your two dodges, you have access to protection, retaliation, aegis and regeneration in HUGE numbers. Use this to your advantage.
In regards to the krait, I’m unsure what they do, but I’m sure there’s a visual cue that you can use, to time your dodges. In dungeons, mobs are meant to hit hard with some abilities. Mobs that carry melee weapons are best to fight at ranged, as these are likely the ones that will one-shot you.
If you have problems with ranged mobs, try using your reflect walls. They work wonders in nearly all settings.
It’s all about rhythm, sort of. Fighting in this game is a “dance.” Your enemy strikes a dance move, and you’ll strike a corresponding dance move. The best way to practice this is probably fighting Ettins. Their “dancemoves” are forgivingly slow, and you should be able to kill them without taking damage even once.
The way I enjoy the game is by learning each mobs’ general behaviour, so I know how to fight them. This goes for pretty much every aspect of the game. In PvP, I also enjoy knowing how to “dance” with my enemy.
It’s hard to help you get to enjoy the game as enjoyment really depends on you.
For some players, all the content is too easy. I find most content borderline easy, and as such, I can’t really relate to the “hard” part of your post. You’re meant to dodge, that’s how the game is played. Dodging, and staying mobile. It might take practice for some, but it comes to natural to others.
Bind your dodge key to something easy, I use V for example. Easily accessible, and no need to double tap a key to avoid otherwise lethal attacks.
That’s all I can think of, off the top of my head, that might be useful for you.
(edited by Rika.7249)
Sounds fun! I hope they remove that little cliff thing now so we can actually FIGHT the boss, rather than /AFK the boss.
Make the path 3 times as long. AC buff was a step in the right direction although it wasn’t quite as much as hoped.
Hope they buff the crap out of CoF.
No siege in puzzles fun.
This angry post will probably be deleted despite being completely accurate, and agreed with by the masses. So make sure to save it, and laminate it on a t-shirt that you wear to the next GW2 convention.
… Fun?
Aha.
So now that an explorable dungeon is a challenge, where ever shall we go?
Oh, I know! Down the path where all explorables become challenging!
Not all items can be previewed. Are you trying to preview weapons, pieces of armor or dyes?
I got this to work today.
Yes, it was the legendary weapons of the front page that I tried to preview. Worked today, but it refused to work with me when I made this thread.
You’ve been given free valuable loot, and want it to be made even better?
Free. Right.
Those were the most dreadful hours of my entire gaming experience ever.
Never have I laughed so hard at a stupid thread.
- Dungeon Merchants have been moved from LA to the entrance of their individual dungeon. In their place, NPCs have been added that let you only preview the dungeon items.
Wat.
I took a wee break from GW2 recently. 200 hours in and I felt burned out, the combat was feeling duller, I was 80 but I didn’t feel there was anything left to do but repeat the same content with an alt, or grind in PVE. WVW was an option but why play that when I have Planetside 2?
I recently came back, however, hankering for some good ol’ PVE. I heard about these new fractal things and the new tier of item, wanting to get one, I excitedly asked if anybody in the guild wanted to run a fractal.
Turns out fractals work on a level system, and I’m level one. Everybody else is like..level 10-24. I cannot run those levels without infused items. Now, the only way to get those infused items or infusable items is to…the fun way…get them in a fractal drop, or grind dalies for weeks until I can afford them.
I was really alarmed to see this. I was under the impression Guild Wars was founded on a philosophy of inclusive content, pick up and play with friends, and no grind. What I found here was the very antithesis of everything I thought Guild Wars was about. A dungeon system I was barred from unless I was willing to grind up fractal levels.
Needless to say, fiding groups for a lvl 1 fractal has been utterly impossible, I’ve yet to find a single other person. Without a LFG system, I find all the fractal content and the new item content barred from me unless I’m willing to grind dalies for at least 30 days. I understand they want these items to be hard to attain and I don’t mind that, since there are players who like to grind for these items and power to them. I don’t care if I don’t have the best infused ring on the block yadda yadda, I’d be happy with a poor one so long as I could still run fractals with it. What I do care about is not having these items is barring me from content, content which I want to be able to enjoy with my guildies.
All of this is solved as follows: Find a level 10 group.
You can still join higher levels. Just don’t go much higher without having any agony resistance.
I do. Nothing happens.
Not from the character select screen. Completely restart the client.
As I said, thrice.
Known issue with TP.
Re-log.
I did. Thrice.
I’m unable to preview items on the trading post. I have no idea why.
My friends tell me to just right click the item in the Trading Post, and supposedly it should give me an option to preview it.
That doesn’t happen though. Anyone else with this problem?
How about NOT complaining about content being added for players who like other playstyles than you? It doesn’t harm you, influence you or even do anything at all, if you’re not in a guild. It’s a bonus if anything.
It never left. Thus it’s not back.
This hasn’t been fixed ever. It’s been made less likely to happen, but it’s been happening nearly every week for me.
btw this thrwead is in suggestions to anet
Where in your post did you make a suggestion to Anet? Please quote it in a reply.
Thought so.
dis guy is afraid his precious 2 spam thief is gonna get nerfed so he can’t take on 20 people at once anymore.
Implying a thief could ever take on anyone, ever.
L2P issue. Move along.
Also, the suggestion that stealth breaks on damage – what are you guys smoking?
It’s not like we already take damage from anything that breathes in our general direction, now we also need to be visible while dying.
At least save us from the pain of being visible.
We’ll die either way, so I’d prefer it if we could at least lie around and bleed to death without our attackers dancing on our visible corpses.

Ouch…
/Roaring Charrs.
“Upgrading a ring takes 1 Shard, 3 Globs and 5 vials + the ring.
You can purchase an agony resistance infusion for 75 relics and place it straight into your ring, and you’ll have 5 agony resistance. "Thanks but this was already covered in my post. I know the recipe upgrade off of wiki. “Stuff” was kind of a joke.
“If you’re not planing on moving ahead…” I want to move ahead, hence my post. I’d rather not grind endlessly at ~lvl 10 to get a daily pristine, or 1-9 at the rare chance of a coagulated drop.
To get past 11 (or level 15 really) is supposed to be a hardcore challenge? I would offer feedback that this is unrealistic. Maybe getting past level 20 or 30 ok… but getting a basic amount of AR to advance past 10, without wasting relics that you need for a back piece just doesn’t seem right… I’d like my effort, albeit casual, to be rewarded with some advancement.
Basically here’s your choices: You can grind 1300 relics + an additional 500, and then another 75 to get 5 Agony resistance. Or you can just fill in your rings.
10 Agony Resistance will get you to level 20. The cheapest price you’ll get is 150 relics. Which is 2 runs at level 20. Probably a bit more at 10.
150 relics for 10 agony resistance is hardly anything at all.
I’m certain you have quite a lot more relics than 150, by getting to level 10.
At 20+, upgraded rings will drop, meaning you can get a total of 20 agony resistance from your rings alone.
(edited by Rika.7249)
Upgrading a ring takes 1 Shard, 3 Globs and 5 vials + the ring.
You can purchase an agony resistance infusion for 75 relics and place it straight into your ring, and you’ll have 5 agony resistance. You won’t be able to upgrade your ring unless you farm globs and mystic-forge them to a shard, as shards only drop at 20+
And not to be rude, but this part of the game wasn’t designed to be that casual. It was meant for those who seek a hardcore challenge (grind?)
Keep in mind, that at level 20+, you’ll have a chance to get an already-infused ring, so in the end you might not even need to upgrade a ring. You could be lucky and get an already upgraded ring later on.
Hope this helps.
Thing is, nobody goes to GW2LFG to find a single party member.
You go to GW2LFG because you’re looking for an already-planned party, or because you’re looking for a few more players for said dungeon.
So while it may be GW2LFG, nobody should use it that way.
Guys, lay off. If you have nothing productive to say then say nothing at all. Seriously, he’s harming no one.
Linksville. That’s productive. It gets his famous popular ongoing series out of our dungeons discussions and tactics forum, and places it where it should be, for those who’re interested in watching yet another amateur doing a let’s play.
I like how he actually thinks he is something.
Linksville – Post links to blogs, videos or other online media relating to GW2.
Wrong forum. There’s not much to be said there. I’m afraid the mod you’ve spoken to is deluded.
No-one’s interested in seeing your series. Especially not here.
This should totally be in the link section and not here. Nobody wants to see your YouTube videos in this forum, and especially not when you decide to make a thread about ’em.
You could’ve posted it in the stickied video thread in this subforum, or you could’ve posted it here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/links
It’s going to sound crazy but… Move.
Yeah, I know.
alpha is one of the best. pls understand that on alpha it is not so much about the skill as it is about understanding the boss mechanic. go read.
Running Alpha path 1 and 2 for a while now. This is not my first encounter with alpha
Alpha is a dance.
He goes 1, 2, 1, 2.
You go 1, 2, 1, 2.
I don’t remember exactly what abilities he has in Path 3, but I think it’s the Earth-Spikes, and then the Spike-Circle Ice thing.
Thus, he’ll do Earth Spike cone, be ready to dodge it. Then avoid his Spike-Circle, which doesn’t require any dodging at all.
Then dodge the Cone.
Then avoid his Spike.
Rinse and Repeat.
How do you avoid the Earth Spike that seems to come out of nowhere in a completely random direction?
The Cone always comes from Alpha himself. He will STARE at the target direction that he wants his Cone to travel. You always know when he’s going to do it.
1, 2, 1, 2.

What I hope:
A set of new dungeons down the road, that require a specific amount of Agony Resistance to be doable, so hardcore players can have some sort of “vertical progression” without any stat benefits – which brings me to the ascended gear: I hope that future ascended items will NOT be better than exotics, meaning that the only advantage one has from having ascended gear is the infusion slot.
More skins for hardcore players. There’s far too little stuff in the game to be proud of.
I hope for more dungeons, and not just more fractals.
What will happen: They keep adding new ascended items and casuals will whine, while Anet lets us bore ourselves to death in the Fractals even more.
I hope they take agony, and ascended gear, the right way, by simply making a sort of “false progression” for those who want it – so hardcore players can work their way through dungeons that require a specific amount of AR – then acquiring gear from said dungeon, and thus being equipped for the next dungeon down the road, and hopefully not having a stat-advantage over casuals.
We might get javelins when the Paragon return in the Elona expansion!
So many whens and no ifs.
If Paragon returns. If Elona is added through an expansion.
The latter is very likely, however Paragon, so-so.
Good deed of the day, check indeed.
Also, I totally want to be a taxidermist.
Need far more colors. Just staying in the mists makes me depressed.
i can solo a breeder in AC without any problems/and no elite.
you guys have a l2p issue…Nice! I guess I can invite you to Arah exp runs and have you complete them alone while I stay at the waypoint, since I’m too lazy to “l2p”.
If anyone else would like to come along, why not? We’ve got a kitten over here to get the job done easy.
Waiting for the warrior to post that movie he did where he solo’d Lupicus.
