I’ve noticed that people are calling us overpowered, people are saying that we’re overpowered because we can excel at everything in this game other than leveling. While other classes like Warriors for example are good at Dungeons but aren’t that great in SPvP.
From my experience, my minions work nearly all the time except in WvW where my Flesh Golem just stares at me.
I would rather have a fix to the Golem AI so it actually attacks my targets in wvw and not stare at me while I’m getting pounded by an enemy player or a veteran guard -,-

Speaking of Thieves have you guys seen Yishi’s new outnumbered video? It’s not as great as the others but it’s still very interesting even after culling removal and 1 second added to stealth.
I roam every day… I usually just run away when I see more than 1 enemy, I’ve never won a FAIR 1v2. Maybe when the 2 enemies are attacking a camp and I have NPC backup, but other than that… no.
I’ve been using a Thief in WvW lately, and I agree that Thief is just better at Attrition. S/D and D/P and the only professions that can get away from me are other thieves and SOME Elementalists.
Infiltrator Strike, Heartstrike spam for gap closer, Shadowstep, Steal, etc… Just so fun

Hi guys, I am just sick and tired of leveling so slow it too boring for me i wanna reach the end ASAP. I really wanna get to lv 80 guys i need ur help and pls do reply.
If you find pre-80 game play boring, you’ll find post-80 game play just as boring since it’s the same.
Lies! There is a difference… instead of looking at the xp bar, you go for high end gear, run dungeons, fractals, wvw is much more fun as a very geared 80 than a undergeared 40.
With most professions having some sort of condition removal every 10 seconds (Some professions can cure conditions faster), I believe that all professions should be able to stack bleeds faster.
I’m suggesting that to increase all condition removal cooldowns. It’s bad enough that bleed has a 25 stack maximum, but with MOST professions having some sort of condition removal every 10 seconds is baffling! Some professions can cure conditions even faster!
Or at least allow professions to be able to stack bleeds faster…

As a Mesmer what’s the profession that you have the most trouble against 1v1?

So if Death Shroud is the reason why we don’t have vigor, block, invulnerability, and other utilities that I’m forgetting and Life Force being drained when in Death Shroud, our skills in Death Shroud use Life Force, Life Blast does half damage when Life Force is below 50%, 10 second cd for Death Shroud making it a bit risky to use it offensively (IMO) then shouldn’t ArenaNet increase Life Force gain and somehow buff Death Shroud?

Hmm… I guess maybe I didn’t think things through when I posted this…
Any advice against Tanky Rangers 1v1? Seems like I’ve been running into a lot of Rangers in WvW. They tend to shrug off conditions with their signet that removes a condition every 10 seconds and when I try to get close to them, they have so many evades with their sword. Most I can do is just run away O_O

Flesh Golem seems to be fine in dungeons and outside of WvW, but in WvW Flesh Golem just annoys the heck out of me! It takes 3-5 seconds for it to start attacking a veteran mob, and when it does start attacking, it stops in the middle of the fight! It’s even worse when fighting players!
I know I’ve brought this up before… But I honestly think I’m going to just stick with Lich Form or Plague in WvW from now on.
Just asking if the DPS is any good?
In my honest opinion the number 1 profession atm is Mesmer. It’s not that great in PvE until you reach level 40 but once you get to 80, people in Dungeons would dance in joy if you join their group. Mesmers have good melee and ranged weapons, and they can go Invis! In WvW, Mesmers can roam and easily solo camps.
I’m thinking of Dagger/Focus and Staff roaming.
Is there a minimum toughness or vitality/health for Necromancers when it comes to WvW? How much Tougness and Vitality do you recommend?

If you’re not having fun being a Guardian or any class you’re currently playing then what’s the point? I’ve tried to level most of the professions in this game, and I found Necromancer to be the most enjoyable for me, I don’t care if my profession isn’t as overpowered as the other professions…
Out of the 3 there, the best Solo profession would be Ranger then Engineer then Thief OP.
I like my Necromancer for PvE Dungeons and WvW Roaming.
So out of most weapons I prefer S/D & P/D, I was wondering is it even possible to be a Hybrid Thief that does well in Condition and Melee Damage? If so How good is it in WvW roaming 1v1 and PvE Dungeons?
Hmm… Warriors are good at solo’ing in PvE, there’s a video of a Warrior easily Solo’ing Gigantes Lupicus in Arah Dungeon. Warriors are good in melee and ranged with using a Greatsword and a Rifle.
1. So what level fractals do you start to receive Tokens for ascended gear?
2. How many tokens can you receive in a day?
3. How long does it take to do a Fractal?
Ya I was up against a Guardian using a scepter and while I was kiting him I noticed my Flesh Golem by the Guardians Side trying to run back to me and not attacking the Guardian, it was kind of funny since it looked like they were racing to see who could get to me first lol. The even funnier part was that my Golem won haha.

I tend to roam a lot and do 1v1’s and I notice that my Golem stops attacking in the middle of the fight and does nothing for almost a good 5-10 seconds, it doesn’t only do this against thieves but other professions as well. In PvE Flesh Golem AI seems to be ok, attacking whatever I’m targeting but I there’s still a noticeable delay…
Alright I’ve been doing some dailies in Cursed Shore and it seems like I notice the delay

Mesmers sounds like the number 1 class/profession in Guild Wars 2. Good condition and melee Damage, great and very welcomed in PvE, all types of PvP (Zergs, Roaming, SPvP), and a very good underwater weapons and you guys can STEALTH (Not as long as a thief, but you still can though). Also you are able to help people outside of fighting like jumping puzzles, by porting them directly to the end.
So ya, what aren’t Mesmers good at? Because I’m honestly thinking of starting one lol.

I can’t do it… I’ve tried mostly all of the other classes, and leveled them up to 10-30 and I enjoyed Necromancer the most. The theme of a class/profession is important to me, I’m just a sucker for Dark Magic class/professions.
So unless they add a Heavy Plate class that uses Dark Magic like a Deathknight, then no.

Not the run buff, but the ability to teleport. Looking at Infiltrator’s Strike from the Thief’s sword ability, it has 20-25 seconds ’till the Thief can Shadowstep back to his/her original position. It would be nice if ours went from 8 seconds un-traited to 13-15 seconds at least.
Edit: Oh ya… Forgot how it gives us 3% Life Force per hit… I still stick by this suggestion.

A minion is a minion. Therefore I should have the option of having commands so it follows my orders.
Pets following commands however don’t make sense to me, sometimes a pet won’t follow your orders, animals have their own personality, feelings, etc etc… Therefore I believe that we should get minion commands and Rangers can just have pet ai without commands.
Buff Rangers so they don’t have to rely on their pets as much, and just buff us… don’t nerf us.

Isn’t Life Blast 50% less effective when you’re below 50% health? Would be nice if they removed that, it would be really helpful in PvE and PvP.
Coming from WOW, I played hunter and shaman. I like how the classes had “utility” in a sense that I could kite, off-heal/cleanse/debuff, cc, just do things for the team that weren’t traditionally for healer, dps, tanks, yet essential for making things smoother.
I get that GW2 does not have traditional roles, but I was wondering which class could play this kind of “utility” role.
If I am being too broad, I would prefer to play the class that could best kite and/or cc.
Sounds like Elementalist is the profession for you.
Turning down your graphics might help. But replacing your graphics card or buying a new computer is another option as well.

No, especially when it can be traited to 15% LF every 24 seconds, which makes it an absolutely amazing way to get quick LF, especially when gras kitten uch (edit: seriously guys?) a strong way to start off a fight (when you have the lowest LF).
I’ve never seen any videos of Necromancers in WvW having Spectral Grasp in their utilities permanently. But I can see how useful that is, I’ll have to try that when I’m roaming later.
Ya Talentless, but the problem is that it’s still slow and easy to dodge most of the time O_O
Edit: I just tried this… it’s honestly not that great in 1v1 from my experience. I personally would’ve used other traits and used another utility. Even in a large group, I just think there are other utilities that would be much more helpful.

So this popped into my head while reading “ATTRITION: A Discussion” by Chips. My idea is to remove Spectral Grasp from our utlities and add it to Death Shroud renaming it as Dark Grasp.
Dark Grasp:
15-20 Second Cooldown
Damage: ???
Chilled: 5 second
Range: 900
Pulls your foe to you
Make the speed of the grasp at least 3-5x faster than before. Of course make the speed of Dark Path 3-5x faster as well
This should benefit all types of Necromancers (Except for the Glass Cannon Bursting Necromancers that like the 10% Life Force every 30 seconds in PvE) and it will be even more harder for professions to escape us.
Do you guys think this is a good or bad idea?

Hopefully my minions other than Flesh Golem gets regeneration outside of combat.
Weakening Shroud has a cooldown. When traited for 5 second Death Shroud, Weakening Shroud only appears once every 2nd death shroud.
They’re both pretty, but I prefer the human. The “Perfect” Rangers to me are Sylvari, it’s just more believable to me that Sylvari will have a deeper relations and understanding with animals than humans. But that’s just me.
You mean your bank? You can only be in 1 home server (Unless you guest on other servers), it’s not like World of Warcraft where you can have characters in many servers. Your bank stays unharmed even if you transfer server.
Even though Mesmers don’t get easy to level until you’re 40+ I hear, Mesmers are still better for solo roaming in WvW, helps a lot in zergs, as a Mesmer you bring more support than a Necromancer in dungeon groups, and a higher single target dps I believe.
Not sure about spvp though. Basically Mesmers are ArenaNets golden child, while Necromancer is that red-headed step child that no one wants to talk about.
So I want to make an alt for and I’m wondering which class is better overall in PvE and WvW?

So I wish to try a sort of Hybrid build with Scepter/Dagger & Dagger/Focus in WvW roaming (mostly 1v1). I’m thinking about wearing a mix of Knights + Rabid gear and weapons, do you think this will work?
So I’m just wondering as to why there is no available Condition, Power, Toughness Gear? Is it because ArenaNet thought this kind of gear would be too overpowered in WvW?
Tried out your advices and it has been really helpful not only against thieves but other professions as well.
There was one case earlier though where I was fighting a this thief near Redbriar and a in literally less than 2-4 seconds I went from 20k hp to 7k hp in a blink of an eye. And I’m wearing Full Knights Armour w/ Berserker weapons O_O
