a bot placed 2.7 million buy orders (probably at 1c = it cost them 270g) which put it on the ‘highly demanded’ list = first thing everyone sees when going to the TP, so everyone was reminded about the item and just HAD to have it, so now the price is higher.
I really wish these botters would tell me before they do this to items so I can make strategic investments :P
I’m sure what’s annoying for anet is that even if they ban the account that made the buy orders, that won’t necessarily be the account that made thousands of gold off the price increase

Technically there isn’t anything wrong with those false buy orders.

Technically I believe I heard that each click of the mouse or press of the keyboard should result in one action.

So while there might not be anything wrong with it in terms of the result, the fact that someone got there with the use of an automated program AND there is no good reason to justify this (like say avoiding carpal tunnel syndrome) leads me to say anyone using it should be banned or at least get a temp ban as a warning for first offenders.

Since I have seen people burn underwater I would expect my dragon’s fire not to be extinguished either … but here comes the environmental issue in the long run:

All in all 2000 gems for a personal mail finisher … I meant mail bird … would be a steal.

Just going to see that I get some achievements and that’s it. Which is a shame because otherwise I think the idea and presentation is great, only the execution not appealing.

At least I don’t get an adrenaline rush thinking: “Yay, four other groups managed not to screw up as well, awesome, yay.”

I would not be adverse to it, just think about the “monk” archetype a la brother Tuck.

I guess the main reason for not having that body type would be a technical one, in a sense of having to fit the armour in a different way. Then again it should be possible.

I do believe there are some human NPC’s that are a tad rounder.

For me it has nothing to do with feeling spoiled. I don’t mind “failing”. But basically you are not holding the strings, someone else does. You played all your cards, might as well leave the table – so if you’ve done everything right, it only leaves you with this “meh” feeling.

I think being in a raid with a certain group of people is one thing, just being a blob among other blobs is different. I guess I have to change my view and call it “guild-living-story-content”.

I absolutely don’t mind this content, I would only prefer to leave it out of the story or make it a dungeon. The whole intro and visuals where stunning though, very well done.

Make it an achievement. Call it: “I was minding my own business when…”

From my point of view it tells me what it changes and affects. Thus I assume that nothing else will be altered because that would be an additional selling feature that I would personally mention if that was the case.

You can only ever have the effect of one particular food on you. It will simply extend the duration of the buff, nothing more nothing less.

Perhaps the whole dynamic (around quartz) will change once the bazaar returns, including the time gate.

But what is so hard with this if there are clearly defined parameters? Seriously, let’s say a CS rep is trying to do this outside of the parameter (item still existed etc) it could simply be flagged and not automatically processed. The employee either get’s a warning or other duties.

From a practical standpoint I would say that the current situation is wasting more time for Anet. A percentage of those people will appeal, either through the official channel or PM some popular person here on the forum, another will make posts either genuinely asking or “venting”, which again results in more work (but different departments).

All forms of customer service cost you as a company something. Obviously those people get some sort of wage. Lucky for the ice cream shop this seems not to be a separate position.

Lastly, if there really is no automated script for the service rep to check for these things, but he rather has to Matrix-like look at raw code … well then there is something else wrong.

If you can imagine I am well aware of what you are trying to describe to me above, it still does not count (for me) in this context.

Ultimately the less you hear about this sort of thing the better. How it’s done (I mean honestly there could even be a separate confirmation screen for each and every item on the character) that is another matter.

The fault part does not matter in business relationships (for the most part, of course within reason).

The cost of an ice cream cone is not worth not only losing a customer but one that might potentially speak ill of you (this does not have to be rational or related to the subject (of the ice cream dropping)).

That is why it is called customer “service” – this kind of “service” does not have to cost you extra.

So far in my … 14 years (?) of online gaming I only had two tickets, both times I clearly knew and stated it was my own fault and I am just asking nicely. Both times I had within reason my items replaced (could not name all of them in one case).

True, but it’s no substitution for anything (edit: by this I mean other T6 fine materials otherwise used in crafting). I only brought this up because I don’t think ascended materials and the quartz can be compared directly. If quartz would become tradable – do you think there might be at least an initial rush? Currently I am holding onto mine, but I likely have more then I’ll ever need.

I’m not necessarily against it but we may want to consider what can happen long term and short term with such a change (?).

It should fall under customer service and not be too much of a hassle to check if the customer bought said product and have a quick glance at his account to see if it still is somewhere in his inventory. Replace the item(s) with a remark that this is a one time courtesy replacement.

Really not worth angering a customer or having this sort of discussion on the forum.

With the candy and crystal node those three would only bring you to 75% of the daily gatherer in total. I mean you gather anyways heading toward doing the other dailies …

I played another game that had something like that. All this particular point would do is add yet another timer to the game. Personally I would go without this part.

Other than that I like the idea for darker nights etc in general.

I seem to remember though reading an answer to this a long time back, along the lines that it was darker in beta but people did not like it, got changed etc. But take this with a grain of salt, it’s been a while.

Wander through Tyria, there are gifts around that Tixx dropped from his airship (they don’t fit through a chimney) – open them. Beware there might be broken toys attacking you or skritt that where already there trying to steal the presents. Sneak or run past them, grab the present off the ground – there ya go.

Sometimes there are none because those skritts are experts.

I like to disable the speed-boost in jumping puzzles, but aside from that I would love a level unlock instead of traits. Not sure about the individual skills, they could maybe changed to something else. Don’t forget though that this is a bit more important in WvW and PvP – I would assume.

The top two look the same, at least I did not see a difference (sorry, I don’t have the gloves atm).

Those level up scrolls don’t work in PvP and also not in downed state, right?
