Transmutation Splitter and Gasmask Question

Huh, and here I thought that the splitter was supposed to be the solution and it would convert back to the original skin item with no armour class attached to it.

Should have done the same as they did with the dragon helm then and give us three, one for each class.

Did anyone actually try this yet? From my point of view it is not the original item then.

Edit: The wiki states:

If aiming to retrieve a skinned item (e.g. Gas mask), using the splitter will return the stat item and a non-stat version of the gas mask. Meaning you will gave to use another transmutation crystal.

No mention about the armour class…

Tarnished Coast disorganized … mhhh.

Btw, the “event completion” only shows the karma gained upon level, not what you actually received – see the rolling loot part for that.

Example if you have +10% karma, the reward for the event shows 200, but you actually got 220.

Edit: Sorry, I don’t think there is a real “fast” way to grind karma. I am actually surprised about the amount that does come in, but I don’t have to watch it so my perception will surely be different. I guess Orr events might be lucrative, but I’m not sure if they are more efficient than Queensdale for example (lvl 80 events should get you base 378 karma).

Consider also alternative ways for lodestones – Fractals might be the best way speedwise since you can also buy them for relics. Laurels are another way (which I would only go with if that is the last item you need). I think that’s about it…

I like the GS (PvE) simply for binding blade. Reel those pesky ranged mobs in and hurt them all at once. Plus the added leap/mobility.
That said it has been a while for me with the hammer, but I used to use it a lot as well.
If you are weary about the cost of getting an exotic GS perhaps try a rare just to get the feel.

There are no savegames in a MMO. The only thing coming close to it would be an account reset but that is nothing you can do yourself and it’s only done if your account was hacked.

I’d like to get rid of the loading screen, at least inside the map, I think it’s ok when I’m switching to another map. Usually only happens to me in Divinities Reach.

Otherwise I can immerse myself if I want to by not using the waypoints, no need to remove them.

Anyone who wants to get rid of the waypoint because of immersion, does your character run or does he walk?

Doh, now there is a thought. But hold on a second, I click on it and the system says: “give him 600 karma that’s it” – so it is possible … so why can’t I click on my daily window to accept my items and money and … laurel … and instead of getting the bottle the system just says: “give him 600 karma that’s it.”?

At the end of the day it’s not a huge deal anymore, but a small qol feature.

For DEs at 80 and no DR you get 378 karma for gold participation, so you’d need to do about 2700 level 80 events. At current, I’ve done 1485 events total, not just 80s, and I have 634444 karma…very little of which I’ve ever spent, perhaps 50000. On average I don’t do a great many DEs anymore…perhaps a few a week and my main and maybe 10 or so a week on the alt I just started leveling.

As for why it’s still liquid in some cases…my guess it that it goes back to before there was an account wide wallet and since they’re account bound you could collect them all on to a single alt for purposes of amassing all your karma across all alts in one place to expedite the creation of legendaries.

Sorry, I meant this because you stated a potential karma income based on the daily/monthly.

Honestly, I don’t keep track of these things per se, but what I do is look at my currencies every once in a while with no particular schedule. The Karma change was in september – so let’s say 4 months. Now I am … very forgetful when it comes to consumables, so other than the occasional banner buffs I never have a karma modifier active on me – except now the permanent account one – currently 6% for me.

I believe I started the change with around 1m karma and that is the value I kinda keep, since then I bought a stack of obsidian shards (525k karma) for the mastery gift and a few more actually plus other things and I still have currently around 1.2m karma.

My typical gameplay does not include hunting for events, but including the ones done for daily and monthly I guess it does add up – I’d wager maybe an average of 10-15 per day (guessing a bit lower).

Let’s take a low number of 10 DEs per day at 200 karma each and we are looking at an added 60k per month (if we play every day, same as your estimate above). Plus your account modifier plus any potential other bonus here and there – let’s make it 66k plus your 24k and we are at 90k per month.

You need over 1000000 karma buy all the obsidian shards required to make a legendary weapon and shards are used to make all kinds of other shinies. At 2100 karma per shard, and you need about 475 for a legendary, every little bit helps. 600 karma per daily and 6000 for the monthly, if you do it all it adds up to about 24000/month and you need what…about 50 times that just for a legendary. It used to be 4500 karma for daily and I don’t know how much for monthly, but they were both nerfed quite heavily because people were getting legendaries too quickly.

While this is a bit off topic from why karma still is liquid …

Oh I agree, all we can do is give our input and ideas however crazy they might be. There have been quite a threads about “please allow better/more gifting options” so that’s the only reason why it popped into my head.

It’s like, sometimes you change billing platforms, not fun and involves a lot of people and overtime most often than not – maybe, I’m not saying that is the same process.

However, it seems to me that Anet often likes to roll out certain features in stages, starting smallish and then rounding up the repertoire so I would not lose all hope.

I don’t know, if I am sending someone a gift and he cannot use it, but he is able to exchange it for something he can use … why would I demand a refund? It’s not like we are talking about a unique collectors item or something of sentimental value.

The devs have said before why they won’t allow this. They don’t want go give people the ability to gift stuff to people and in the process possibly learn about their accounts. Something about potential hackers being able to gift upgrades to people to try and “fish” for people who have more upgrades on their account, or something. Send out a bunch of bank upgrades, find the people who can’t receive any more, and target those accounts with your hack attempts, something like that.

Sounds kind of silly to me, but it is what it is and for that reason it’ll probably never happen.

I knew that, but just reading it again made me think that it could be very “simple”. Forgive me, I don’t know exactly how the process works atm – but basically I envision a process like this, the present is wrapped and thus there is no check on the account. Once the receiver get’s it – then the system checks if the present is applicable, if not the receiver will be able to exchange it back for the gems spent.

That way it is up to the receiver to disclose whether or not he could use it and he can still spend it on something nice or opt to “gift” something back etc.

Did I just make some coding people cringe and having nightmares?

Well, it is tedious. I’m saving the click now to accept my “gift”. But I guess the point is that it is supposed to be different from the regular crafting. If you change that you might as well get rid of the forge and just discover general recipes.

However, it might be an idea if you are forging the same item over and over with the same materials to have them stay in the window as long as you have sufficient quantities.

Buying from NPCs is brought up all the time and there should be a better system for that, especially if you have to accept the purchase each time as well.

If getting infracted in the first place is not enough for some to consider the way they are posting then I think this is not only a good measure but also a generous one. I’m not even sure I would notice that too much, 10-15 minutes perhaps, but I don’t think I post too often within 5 minutes.

The only thing I would say is, it should be clear to people what that is about, otherwise they are just wondering or getting angry about a “bugged” forum.

A clear message that explains it might go a long way.

Guild wars 2 IS alt friendly

Don’t make me chose for one-time rewards (molten gauntlets, gas mask, antitoxin injector etc) between my characters.

That would be my personal pet peeve in regards to alt – a process that I do not find fun or engaging.

Other things might not be practical, because expensive, but the option is technically there – so I am not going to question that.

Does anyone know how good it is to use a mystic forge stones instead of a fourth exotic?

Sorry if this is getting slightly off topic but I think everyone in this thread might be interested in improving chances?

Absolutely agree.

In the meantime a workaround would be to get the chat code from a website, copy/paste into the chat and you can preview it from there in the regular preview window. I’m often too lazy for that unless I really want to see it.

Definitely interesting. Apparently someone else has provided even more information (larger sample) and it’s supposed to be around 1% for exotics. Haven’t found that yet though.
