“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
My simple (edit: attempt at a) solution would be to speed up the animation in PvE, maybe let’s try how 2 seconds instead of 3 seconds would feel.
The navy smells like sea water. The infantry smells like ground water. The air force smells like cologne.
I’m an infantry kinda guy.
I would use this feature for two races, the charr because of the fur patterns and the norn because of the tattoos.
Paper bags are dangerous, you could suffocate. Ellen did not want something like that in her city.
This might be the one you are thinking of

?
John, can you please also look into the various loot bags that champs are dropping?
I used to get exotic bags from champions every time, and now I’m getting anywhere from white to exotic ones, with no apparent rhyme or reason to it.
EDIT: All eight of my characters are level 80, so it’s not a level issue.
That’s new? Always been like that for me. Most common for lower level champs, frostgorge usually exotic.

Karma never generated gold from the game, only from trading with other players.
I don’t know about you, but when I bought the jewelery boxes for karma … that was pretty straight forward cash from the game for me.
If that made a dent in the overall picture might be debatable, but since karma has been changed I would guess it was noticeable.
Items in black lion chests are mostly useless
So the problem is that you can’t afford to pay real money for items that are mostly useless.
Maybe the real problem is that people perceive the chests as useless.
Asura and Charr are humanoid as well. They have the same amount of limbs and they are all in the same place as well. If the charr could and would not walk upright I would consider them alien, there is not even a walking animation on all fours.
My female sylvari is attractive and my male asura is quite handsome to my eye btw.
Vayne, welcome to the dark side.
Just kidding!
This is a very important point – when looking at metrics, numbers, statistics – always question them.
I guess it’s the same with everything, we will have different … painlevels. Do I think many people just tick off chores on some list to get over with it? I certainly do it sometimes.
But where does that start exactly – quite frankly I think that depends on you. Be it map completion, vistas, hearts (!). I mean sometimes if the stuff is fun it’s a bonus, sometimes it’s like ‘oh no, it’s over already?‘. So many little reasons, maybe I don’t like snow and that’s why this map felt like a chore.
At least it seemed to go by fast – in this example – you don’t have to spend another two weeks there or gather let’s say 10000 toxic spores, no?
Soften the economy a bit, let people feel like they can splurge on stuff and maybe more people will relax.
I don’t want this to get too long so just to your last question – is it healthy. I don’t think it has anything to do with that, it will just attract a different crowd. I guess from a story-telling perspective some things have to be centralized, perhaps they can find a better way of scaling or allowing people to make their own instances – be it via group finder or guild wise etc.
(…)due to constraints surrounding our economy(…)
This is one point that to me is too visible at the moment.
I also really like the idea of Arc based Meta Achievements
Just make sure that people who go on a two week holiday are not loosing out on this on a longer arc (if I understand this correct).
Personally I feel we have improved Story and Gameplay synergy(…)
Could you give an example of improvement so I better understand what you mean by that?
The Zerg! This is an interesting problem that we had actually fixed to an extent in an earlier release where we created a meta goal that forced players to split up into groups.
I had a feeling this resulted more into the actual objective failing (meaning the event not completed and Scarlet not defeated) in most cases because the Zerg followed the most lucrative path and not the story path. Perhaps this is a result of the actual economy in place.
Regarding most favourite and least favourite episode … the bazar would be my most favourite. Unique features like the movements and the mini-game, while still somewhat PvP oriented, had room for self improvement – finding a shorter route, get faster.
Least favourite – don’t know if that counts as a story event, there was one with only a dungeon update. I’m sure the dungeon was/is nice but it had no other content whatsoever. This does not compare to the MF dungeon – I went there because to me that was part of the story. TA did not peak my interest at all.
What choice was important? I mean in what respect.
I usually encounter the phenomenon of: “Oh these shoulders look great on a female character, let’s check out the male version …. NOOO.”
In my ideal dreamworld one set would look very similar and have only slight changes from one gender to the other.
If it’s skimpy on women it should be skimpy on the guys too.
Other than that two additional thoughts, my Norn are never cold and heavy plated armour became obsolete with the invention of gunpowder/rifles.
Now let me use my claws in battle, I don’t need inferiour cold steel!
So this would be a perfect opportunity to get the players (us) involved to make sure the Largos are “owing” us something on a larger scale and join the fight.
Of course Traherne will have to help us with that … ummm … mhh?
It’s simply not the same (for me).
“FINISHING” another player is … somewhat satisfying (and I am not even a PvP player).
“FINISHING” a … mobile … a mob … a not-even-a-thing is lackluster for me.
But I’m happy for the people that can showcase their PvP accomplishments now in PvE – hey maybe that will entice someone to enter competitive PvP.
One thing I know however, it does not entice me to buy “finishers” just because it doesn’t feel right in that environment.
That said I think it’s great that Anet is willing to shake things up and try stuff out!
All right, so I noticed in the character select screen they were more of a blue, perhaps it’s mixing my pink glow with the green eyes. In the cave it looked rather sinister dark.
(Edit: Added an older picture to compare.)
2nd edit: the eye thing is in the tracker, I did not see this earlier:

(edited by Rouven.7409)
Kind of a collectors thing, eh? Maybe they’ll make a new one with the same icon.
One thing that seems to not be addressed is the fashion of how we are finding “ten toe nails” or twenty rocks" scattered typically in a couple of maps. There seem to be a limited amount of options.
The long and potentially frustrating one – walk the maps up and down and find the needle in the haystack.
Work together in mapchat – depending on server and time potentially nice.
Fastest would be – ask “dulfy”, which is also the least immersive from my point of view and degrades the task to a semi-chore to get over with.
This might be somewhat related to the storytelling part – are there other options that Anet might be investigating to … make this sort of hunt more interesting? Radarblips, NPC’s that give clues and pointers perhaps?
Along with this would also go the “tracking” part in a sense – where was I, which one of the twenty rocks have I already picked up?
It might be a little too specific for this discussion, but it’s one of those points where I personally go … mhhh, why is there seemingly no effort to improve this? Perhaps some feedback or brainstorming would be possible.
They don’t drop extra loot bags with Badges of PvE Honour?
I’m going to try to keep this short – I would like to see the idea of southsun expanded. The idea of an island (or a map) that changes over time and where the plot is driven forward. I think it was great to see it grow – then the story was “over” and now there is literally no reason to go back there, especially not alone since the events are deadly and usually at choke points.
One of the main problems, as far as I understand, is not to scatter players all over the place. Having a main area that does not interfere with world exploration, the personal storyline etc that is ever changing because it can literally explode would be great.
We could go back and forth in our story, the queen has her tournament, a dragon attacked southsun, moto opens his SAB, civil war broke out on the island, the mad king arrives, the ground caved in and there is a dungeon to discover, Tixx is here, we shouldn’t have gone too deep into the dungeon – mutated karka appear, happy easter, a pirate boat goes ashore in southsun …
I’m pretty sure you will have to chose between wearing it in PvE or PvP, at least I don’t recall seeing those skins I bought (that I use in PvE) in the PvP locker.
Otherwise it’s what above posters said.
I wasn’t able to play with the glow yesterday as I had just logged on shortly, but I noticed that my bright green eyes turned … black. Only on certain angles I can see the green. I’ll try to update this with a screenshot tonight – I wondered if that may have anything to do with this?
If I remember correctly some people reported they had to discover the chantry twice. Other than that I would start map by map, my last ones where missing in Divinities Reach … and I could have sworn I’ve been there but it must have been a different character.
My wager would be you get one skill point once and after that it works like all the others – once a day to create charged quartz.
One could almost think the 25 skill point price is not supposed to be available yet?
Or is this supposed to be the discounted price before this chapter is over?
Press Y – that will get you here:

Note the drop down menu next to your account name towards the top.
What I do here once I know what the dailies are is keep the items on hand. For example eat the 50 candy corns or I keep bags unopened.
Good luck.
Once you’ve done that I would not forget to do the little story dungeon. It’s not hard, can be done solo and it rewards the candy node for your personal home instance.
I use ultimate ego boosting macro. It goes like this, I go where boar spawn, dance with human male ultimate muscle ripped body topless, and macro goes like this: “I’m too sexy for this zerg…” every time I do moonwalk.
Well, that’s at least what went through my head when I read this thread
Agreed, an ignore should work universally throughout the game.
There is no argument whatsoever against the fact that the ignore function should work throughout the game, no matter what the reason I put the person on ignore for. I would go so far as to delete the visual of the character for me … but I guess that could end up hilarious.
We don’t have to discuss specific words, freedom of speech, or any of that.
If the thread and thread title would be altered that way it would end in the suggestion forum instead of staying in the “general discussion” about guild wars 2.
I do think to recall that I’ve seen this suggestion a few times already.
That said I’m all for people conducting themselves in a courteous manner, hopefully we can ll play along nicely in Tyria, having fun regardless if we shoot rainbow unicorns, run around with a discoball staying alive or if we are oozing black red yellow stuff looking all dangerous.
Cheers

I shall have to check that out later, thanks for sharing.
Those colors don’t work. I choose neither.
I was thinking this at first as well – but the right one actually reminded me a bit of that Assassins creed guy.
I think I agree with myself that roman numerals have certain advantages that icons do not have. One of me says that icons, especially given a theme, be it racial or profession specific would be great and YES rangers should absolutely have a unicorn theme unless they are norn then they get a rune theme.
I started arguing with myself about the latest edition of having the trait name shown next to the roman numeral as above – I said to myself, if I don’t know what it is I still have to hover over it, no I might as well learn a string of numbers (at which point I pointed out to myself that I am too lazy for that, point taken).
All in all this debate could be easily avoided by letting us save our layouts and switch them out of combat. Less looking, more doing
I would have to go with the hat. I hardly ever wear one but hats are cool. So the one with the hat with the feet in the ground.
Yay nub photoshop skills
Please refrain from posting spam again OP
Dude it was a joke, calm yourself.
No soaker super?
Are all of these achievement events currently active?
Yes – until Nov 12.
Two months ago you seem to have said you wanted to be a warrior. Not sure if I can take this serious.
Why you being an kitten huh?
You think people stick to what they said about a thought two months ago? The answer is they most likely DO NOT.kitten
Silly topic, “forced” issues combined with WoW comparison … please. We are not talking about a thought here, we are talking about a gaming identity crisis (edit: class wise, not people wise).

If you like videos try
You don’t just simply ask for Hobo-Tron. You don’t find Hobo-Tron. The devs don’t find Hobo-Tron.
In Tyria, Hobo-Tron finds us.
Smile smile nod grin smile.
This is the way of the peaceful monk build.
Got to get that super soaker for my ranger – it is classified as a longbow, right?
Gonna use it to train my cat.
What is the living story? I stopped reading the online blog so I guess for my character it was like – he is fighting invasions, all over sudden it stopped. Everyone talked about some virtual world and the invasions became less frequent. Then there was a dragon who learnt a few tricks and now the mad king has arrived as expected.
Why is that WvW thing listed under the living story achievements btw?
It’s not that I dislike the living story, not at all – but if this was a TV series, as it has been compared to, I think I would have lost interest already.
So let’s recap, this thread is (to a large extent) only still up because the OP keeps repeating himself in claiming that icons are superior to roman numerals and that he can’t believe “we” are all fine with an unpolished product in a beta format.
What we need is a compromise. We all know that one reason we like roman numerals is that we can “type” it to relay the information to other people (or write it down for ourselves).
Type-able icons = smileys!

“When we were young we had to play on things that were called computers and sometimes we even had to go offline during maintenance!”
“What is offline grandpa?”
I use my Barry White mix tape in order to verify my age. Works like a charm all the time.
Statler: You know, the older I get, the more I appreciate good music.
Waldorf: Yeah? What’s that got to do with what we just heard?
Statler: Nothing, just thought I’d mention it.
To the OP, how exactly did you learn that “old” people (per definition anyone over 30 apparently) – are playing this game?
Moving nodes keeps the game from being a farm run. God forbid you have to find the expensive crafting materials that you’re just going to flip on the TP after you run all your alts. Sorry for the jaded tone but I’m sick of hearing everyone whine about having to work for stuff.
It is not … umm .. flipping if you actually gather the stuff yourself. It’s flipping when you buy low and re-sell high, that’s at least the gist of it.
I’d just like to get my own radar and not goto website X, but that would just be my preference and is not really a complaint.
Now I think champ locations and maybe spawn times should shuffle every time as well.
Work for your game or do you want to play forever?!
When you read the wiki, did you notice the footnote that links this statement to a post from 2011? In short you can discover recipes that you might find useful, which give you more “crafting experience” as a bonus instead of crafting the same sword 20 times.
That is really all. I personally fell behind the curve and while I think I did craft some things for alts it really is not that necessary for the leveling process itself.
You would want to be more around lvl 75 artificing for your character level in order to craft soft inscriptions.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Artificer/Initiate_recipes
Not sure if that is the answer you were looking for. I guess if you don’t enjoy crafting by itself you should be able to check the TP – I personally would advise against it – again simply because I did not find it necessary. Only do so if you really notice you die a lot or it takes you ages to kill something etc.
Resistance is futile!
Wicked look, I like that.
Having a place of power for your personal instance sounds good to me as well.
