“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Around 0:52 it will tell you how to pronounce it, but I recommend watching from the start.

I don’t understand why this should be restricted to artificers. I do have a lvl 400 artificer, but that is not my main character. Every profession should know how to convert them.
That’s a lot worse than past sales (5/360).
Edit: But then again it’s not really a “sale”, just a new bundle that will stay.

(…)Maybe I DO know something :S
Clever, lol
Great idea, in the end everything is scripted but it would add a unique experience rather than all teleporting to that one waypoint to engage in a fight.
Wait, you’re saying he might not destroy the castle anymore? Woah, this is going too fast for me.
Please add an in-game message as well so I don’t have to check third party websites.
Thanks.

for the more casual players (seems about 90% of the posters in this thread) who obviously missed a few of the last patchnotes:
AP now give you rewards (including gems on some tiers) every 500 points.so yes, there is some merit to getting as many AP as possible.
in addition, some people are completionists, they like to find every secret, explore all areas, and get all achievements. these players make up quite a big part of the community and there even are even games tailored specifically for this group (i.e. the fun flashgame: http://armorgames.com/play/4309/this-is-the-only-level ).
at first ANet lured in completionists with fun achievements like all the jumping puzzles etc, while the dailies were easily completable. then they suddenly changed the daily system completely and with it slapped the completionists faces.I tried to do it as well but the only thing it did was keeping me from playing the way I want. 2-3 hours (with bad wvw achievements and pvp it can sometimes take even longer) was way too much wasted time.
it’s a shame, I really like to complete stuff, but ANet pretty much made it clear they don’t want me to.
No, they gave more options so people doing different things are very likely to complete the dailies by not focusing on them.
We make a checklist out of it … for what, a reward every 500 points?
Here is my take on the 500 points, taking rough averages on a monthly basis:
Dailies – 150 points
Monthly – 50 points
Living Story – 2 per month for 200 points each – 400 points
Plus the here and there points one might still unlock.
Unlocking one new 500 point chest per month is pretty reasonable. Even the weekend warrior should be able to do this since the bulk comes from the living story.
Let me compare this to something different – just because there is a one time bonus reward for each dungeon path per day – does one have to do every path every day?
“Too many dungeons burn me out, I quit.”?
Cooooooo!
Gotta love the backpack, very nice
Did you take an extended break from the game? I have noticed that the RNG god rewards players who take a long break and come back.
reaches for his tinfoil hat
…
In other news, the bug has been fixed and all excess precursors removed from the game.
Hehe, seriously, congrats OP.:)
No, if people wanted to play charr, they’d play them despite the issues.
I play mostly my charr (I have 2 of each, except only 1 sylvari). I applaud Anet on what they have done with charr and asura animation wise and the style of the sylvari.
However you will notice that each of them has problems with armour.
I’m not going to argue what came first, the hen or the egg.
Except the point was probably that making an armor for humans means it’s automatically done for Norn and for Sylvari too short of a couple tweaks. Whereas making the same armor for Charr and Asura would need to start from scratch.
And that is even counting the fact that Charr and Asura only have male models for armor.
No problem with that, but it has nothing to do with how many people play the races.
Kind of a vicious cycle, people not playing them because of issues and then saying well not enough people play them so there is a lower priority to fix issues with them.
You don’t totally have to start from scratch, but I know what you mean.
Charr is “only” 2% behind sylvari and 3% behind asura. Norn are only 3% over asura.
Basically 1/3 are playing human and 2/3 the rest.
I guess only weaponsmiths should be updated in the future as well.
Edit: In other words, it is not the dailies that burn people out but the desire to be on top of the leaderboard.
Yes, I agree. But Anet advertises GW2 as a game where you can “play the way you want to play”. Yet, if you want to compete with the leaderboards you can’t play the way you want to play.
If I have 4 hours to commit to the game on a given day, I’d love to spend 2 hours doing my dailies, an hour in dungeons, and an hour in WvW. Instead, on some days I have to spend the entire 4 hours doing dailies if I wish to remain on the leaderboard.
I’m not sure you can look at it like that. If I wish to be playing with the best of the best in PvP I don’t think I can say … oh, that is just taking too much time, I want to remain my leading position by only participating 30 minutes a week.
They have to establish what is more important to them – play the way they want – or be in the top of the leaderboard.
Or you can look at it from the other way, Anet does not decide how many people to what extent participate.
We’ve also already established that the format of the leaderboard itself is not suitable. Personally I don’t even think there should be a “PvE leaderboard”.
If you are making a race out of it and you want to compete with all the others who are making a race out of it – and because of that you “burn out” – then I guess you lost and did not have what it takes to race with the others.
Imagine there was a statistic for the amount of alts you have.
It’s simply not meant that way.
The (achievement) leaderboards as they are right now don’t really serve a meaningful “competitive” purpose. That could be changed, but there is nothing wrong with the format of dailies.
Edit: In other words, it is not the dailies that burn people out but the desire to be on top of the leaderboard.
“… the warrior charges … straight for the goal … savage leap and …. ouuuch … right into the pole, that’s gotta hurt… the guardian has taken bolt out of his hands … oh noooo, he is retreating in the wrong direction … the mesmer goaly is quite confused about his teammate … own goal!”
I don’t understand the viewpoint of “completionist have a problem with repeatable content”. Do they also salvage items until they’ve done agent of entropy 250 times?
How did they ever get out of Sanctum Sprint (or any other repeatable activity/achievement).
Again, it’s not a race, I understand people feeling compelled to complete every daily every day to maximize their achievement points … but to the point they “burn out”?
It’s the most flexible generous system I’ve seen so far, it provides options.
I cried every time Cantha was brought up
Edit: Matt’s interview with Izzy, he actually responds to cantha, and…

Haha, you got me.
It’s not a race?
Woot woot! I mean, wuup wuup!
Me thinks the monocle is missing.
Yes, under combat/movement.

Cantha *lol (not the right order, but the best I could do pasting it together in paint)
Edit: 3:30, 19:02 and 26:27 in the interview
It is my understanding that it is automatically learned, no need to buy a recipe or anything – so it doesn’t show up there? Like if you search only for ‘lump’?
Your crafting level is 450?
The positive outweighs the negative in the long run in my opinion. Hey, it freed up six slots in my bag. Permanent magic find that I don’t have to think about? Good in my book.

“Bubbles? I’m the zhaitaffies prince of darkness!”
Cue Hellraiser.
The reason I ask is, I had over 40% magic find by using the essence, but I deleted a toon, and now I’m back to 31% magic find, did this effect the over account amount of magic find% when I deleted the character?
Essence of luck is for your account, same with the achievement bonuses. Not sure what would bring it down by 9%, but certain items still work – for example the 20% infusion.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magical_Infusion
That one only counts for the character wearing the item.
Edit: Perhaps you had a temporary 10% buff on you and in the meantime increased your MF by 1%?
(edited by Rouven.7409)
yes Rouven, the invasions will still happen. No idea how often.
Makes you wonder if the indicator for it will stay or if we have to check a “dragontimer”.
Anyways – sorry, this goes a bit off topic.
I’ll definitely be going to play with the runes, flushing them down the toilet, but in the overall picture I’m not sure that lot’s will happen. Maybe they won’t go up in price as much (across the board).
Except that the exotics won’t be flowing much after the patch. No more gauntlet, no more coordinated wave killing, just people locking them up in an instance that produces… baubles. That are used for account bound skins. Which need a weapon. And a sigil.
I foresee many more updates in a two week interval with new wave farm spots. The invasions are supposed to stay but become less frequent, did I understand that correctly?
There is a picture forming in my head over the last few weeks. I’ve said it before, I really love when your scenes tell/capture a little story. So it might be a little while, but I’m going to contact you at some point and see if I can afford your “doodle”
Love the latest commission you’ve done.

From his (Richards) post on the reddit thread, instructions can be found here
http://brickstorms.com/blogs/how-to/8769735-build-your-own-infantile-cloud-custom-model-from-guild-wars-2-super-adventure-box
From what it looks like to me you should be able to build it with the most generic blocks – I mean the ones that were around ~20 years ago. Minus the rainbow colours maybe.
I expect it to be a slow, very likely also time gated progression. But I still like the permanent account wide side of it better than what it is now.

I think it’s refreshing not to have a given “end-game”. Although it’s only partial true since the LS is starting to shape up to be a bit like that in my opinion. But it still lies within myself what I make of it. I do however miss certain leisure activities – I know this sounds silly and I’ve said it before, but a relaxing “hobby” within the game – like fishing, is something I do miss every now and then. The closest to that would be JP’s perhaps, pretty much all activities are … hectic.
What is there there to “deal with” regardin champ camping?
You should all whack the champ and the top 5 contributors would get rewarded. Want loot? Up your game. Simple as that.
Ah – I was thinking in regards of mob tagging, aka greyed out for the others.
Seriously, that would not work here. The whole system with combo fields, buffs etc.
No thanks, there have to be better ways.
I noticed that they fixed the ‘beard-vanishing’ issue with the Horns of the Dragon Skin. The preview for Braham’s armour still makes my beard disappear, does anyone know if that is just a preview issue? The search function wasn’t helpful here.
How to fix zerging for both PvE and WvW,
Remove unlimited shared loot and rewards.
Been saing it from day 1.
Perhaps make it so that only 1 parties worth of people will be rewarded for a champ kill for example.
Something like this would either completely eliminate zerg play, or make it significantly more engaging than it is now.
How would you deal with champ camping? Something that would very likely happen.
Or do you mean we should all just whack on the champ and then hope that we get anything? Like the RNG before the RNG? Sounds more frustrating at the moment (if I understand you correctly).
I’m thinking John Malkovich.
I’m more with this guy though.
You think he could be the final boss? I’d run, really. Tyria is not yet ready to face him.
